  1. [Baby Steps]
  2.
  3. -Route 29
  4.
  5. >Baby steps. No shiny, please.
  6. >Ooh a Sentret! No pokeballs yet, but damn this music's good.
  7. >Leer's visual effects look cool, like laser beams. I like it.
  8. >I also like Berry's visual effects. Nice. I didn't wanna use that berry, though.
  9. >LEVEL UP and new moves.
  10. >I feel lost, but hey, it's part of the fun.
  11. >Berry and Potion get.
  12.
  13. -Route 46
  14.
  15. >This isn't Cherrygrove. Or is this the place to go?
  16.
  17. -Route 29
  18.
  19. >I wish Repels were available.
  20.
  21. -Cherrygrove City
  22.
  23. >I'll talk to everyone.
  24. >This old guy reminds me of the old guy that forces you to watch his tut.
  25. >Oh well, can't refuse to try and say yes.
  26. >Wait, it's not about catching Pokemon anymore, but towns?
  27. >Hey, a Map Card. Pretty neat.
  28. >I'll check Route 46 before Route 30
  29.
  30. -Route 46
  31.
  32. >Oh, it's blocko'd.
  33. >A Geodude's here as well. No balls for that yet.
  34.
  35. -Cherrygrove City / Route 30
  36.
  37. >Another berry.
  38. >Another berry from a house. I'm finding lots of berries here.
  39. >Trainers having a battle. I wanna join, but it's only trainer vs trainer.
  40. >PSNCUREBERRY? This is new.
  41.
  42. -Mr. Pokemon's House
  43.
  44. >Based on his sprite, he looks like a gent. How did he know my name?
  45. >A Mystery Egg. Is this where the term ME came from?
  46. >Aaand a Pokedex.
  47.
  48. -Route 30
  49.
  50. >A disaster. You don't hear that everyday.
  51. >Calm down, Prof. Elm. I'll be there.
  52.
  53. -Cherrygrove City
  54.
  55. >Who's this guy? Oh, this meanie.
  56. >And he called me a wimp. What did I do to make you call me that?
  57. >No choice but to battle, huh. BRING IT, RED HAIR!
  58. >Rival Battle #1 GO! (battle music is good, too)
  59. >I thought that his Totodile will be level-boosted to 6 or 7 or 8, but nope. Sounds kinda unfair.
  60. >So, I won. I also get money for it, yay! Nice job, jvk!
  61. >And his name's ???, tells me that he'll be the greatest PKMN trainer, and storms off.
  62. >not if I race him to the top!
  63.
  64. -Route 29
  65.
  66. >Wait, did he heal my Pokemon?
  67. >But why? He seemed to be a bad person.
  68. >...maybe, he's good on the inside, but just wants to show how tough he is?
  69. >hmm.. that could be it.
  70.
  71. -New Bark Town / Elm's Lab
  72.
  73. >So someone stole a Pokemon.
  74. >It's the Red Haired guy that stole it. Just battled him awhile ago.
  75. >His name is... uhh...
  76. >Well, he has red hair. He must be SILVER. Yeah, that makes sense!
  77. >Elm examines the ME, and he's enthusiasm is showing because I got a Pokedex.
  78. >A champion, huh. Sounds thrilling.
  79. >What's this feeling? This feeling when I can finally have some motive to go on?
  80. >And I get PokeBalls! I can now catch Pokemon.
  81. >Okay mom, I'll trust that you'll save my money.
  82. >Bye!
  83.
  84. ---------------------------------
  85.
  86. And so, Blocko finally starts his Pokemon journey. Yet he doesn't know how to catch Pokemon, so he asks the guy in Route 29 to teach him.
  87. He feels as if he's a mere "guinea pig" to Prof. Elm, as he's only there to help him.
  88.
  89. ---------------------------------
  90.
  91. [The Zephyr Badge]
  92.
  93. -Route 29
  94.
  95. "So yeah, it's that easy!"
  96. >yeah, I'll be off to other routes. Thanks, though!
  97.
  98. -Route 46
  99.
  100. >I finally got the BALLS for that Geodude. I'll need someone to tank some normal hits.
  101. >Geodude GET! named Adam.
  102.
  103.
  104. -Route 29 / Cherrygrove City / Route 30
  105.
  106. >oh crap I forgot to heal
  107. >Oh well, Pidgey GET! named Momiji.
  108.
  109. -Cherrygrove City / Route 29
  110.
  111. >Well, I better level these guys up.
  112.
  113. >TEAM! ASSEMBLE!
  114. jvk, Level 9, Cyndaquil
  115. Adam, Level 7, Geodude
  116. Momiji, Level 7, Pidgey
  117.
  118. >I think I overleveled, but what the hell.
  119.
  120. -Route 30
  121.
  122. >Trainer battle GO! (so that's the song that I sometimes hear in PS.)
  123. >Joey? You're that guy that says you're Rattata is top-percentage.
  124. >money get! Sent some to mom!
  125.
  126. ---------------------------------
  127.
  128. "Hey, trainer! You are so cool! The way that Geodude battled!"
  129.
  130. >Huh, oh, thanks.
  131.
  132. "Yours was like NERRR KAPOW and mine was like KSHHH KSHHH"
  133.
  134. >Cool sound effects.
  135.
  136. "Listen. I'll need your number. Since you beat me, I could use some advice."
  137.
  138. >...well, there's nothing wrong with giving away numbers on a whim, right?
  139.
  140. "You are so cool!
  141.
  142. You know what, I wanna be as cool as you! Or even COOLER than you!"
  143.
  144. >hm... he has something to strive for.
  145.
  146. ---------------------------------
  147.
  148. >This is strange. Trainer levels are somewhat low. Did I overlevel?
  149.
  150. -Route 31
  151.
  152. >NOOOO ADAM NOOOOO
  153. >Now you'll get it, Bellsprout.
  154. >only 1 pokeball. Hope this hits...
  155. >YES CAUGHT. But its smaller sprite looks like an Oddish.
  156. >oh well, named Andrew.
  157.
  158. -Route 30 / Cherrygrove City / Route 29
  159.
  160. >Well, that was a quick heal. Time to level Andrew before heading off.
  161. >oh why does vine whip have 10 pp
  162.
  163. -Cherrygrove City / Route 30
  164.
  165. >The old "switch out then take hits then faint it then both get exp" trick still works.
  166.
  167. -Route 31
  168.
  169. >Dark Cave. Do I need FLASH for it?
  170. >tried to catch Hoppip, but nope, ran out of balls for it.
  171. >Sprout Tower? Where is that?
  172.
  173. -Violet City
  174.
  175. >This theme sounds so familiar to FRLG.
  176. >talking to everyone
  177.
  178. ---------------------------------
  179.
  180. Blocko has known about Team Rocket and how a kid just stopped it, the Sprout Tower and Gym Leader Falkner. He thought that Team Rocket was "rather weak".
  181. He has also encountered someone that wants a Bellsprout for an Onix, but he refuses to trade. He wouldn't trade away a Pokemon like that.
  182.
  183. ---------------------------------
  184.
  185. >nope. not even.
  186.
  187. -Sprout Tower
  188.
  189. >Sounds like Bellsprout. Oh, it is.
  190. >Oh nope. Adam'll easily faint in here.
  191.
  192. ---------------------------------
  193.
  194. Blocko couldn't find the staircase, until he realizes that it's next to the old man.
  195.
  196. ---------------------------------
  197.
  198. >...I feel stupid.
  199. >There are trainers full of Bellsprouts.
  200. >Free EXP to Momiji and jvk!
  201. >So, Joey called. His Rattata is his only companion, yet he still refuses to catch another.
  202. >Sounds... sweet.
  203. >Welp, another old guy spoiled me what HM it is, and it's FLASH.
  204. >Who uses a Flying-type on a Bellsprout Tower?
  205. >Me and the others, I guess.
  206.
  207. ---------------------------------
  208.
  209. As Blocko fought his way to the top of the Sprout Tower, he sees that Red Haired guy (to which he names Silver, since it makes sense) up top.
  210.
  211. "You are treating your Pokemon too harshly. How can it grow when you treat it that way?"
  212.
  213. "Tch... I only care for strong Pokemon. Weak ones are just trash."
  214.
  215. >wait, what am I hearing?
  216.
  217. Blocko's hope for his inner good starts to falter.
  218.
  219. "That red-haired guy. He will have a dark future as he lives by."
  220.
  221. ---------------------------------
  222.
  223. >if he'd only take the time to train his "weak" Pokemon, it would become stronger.
  224. >I mean, come on. There's a level-up system in here.
  225. >oh well, time to fight that other trainer or "final boss" of the sprout tower.
  226.
  227. ...
  228.
  229. >Boss Defeated!
  230.
  231. ---------------------------------
  232.
  233. "You seem different than that red-haired guy. Your Pokemon are also in top-shape."
  234.
  235. >All I did is just level-grind on routes. And beat the trainers.
  236.
  237. "I can tell a bright future is coming for you if you keep going. Here. Take this HM Flash. It'll brighten the darkness that lurks within."
  238.
  239. >HM Flash get!
  240.
  241. "I wish you good luck on your journey, Trainer."
  242.
  243. >Thanks..
  244.
  245. ---------------------------------
  246.
  247. -Violet City / Violet City Gym
  248.
  249. >It's full of Flying-types. Does Falkner use the Sprout Tower to train, also?
  250. >Rock Throw is more OP than Stealth Rocks.
  251. >all trainers defeated. Alright, here we go. BRING IT, BIRDY!
  252.
  253. ===Blocko vs Falkner=== GO!
  254.
  255. =Adam Lv11 vs Pidgey Lv7=
  256. =Pidgey used Mud-Slap!
  257. >Mud-Slap? What.
  258. =Adam used Rock Throw!
  259. =Pidgey fainted!=
  260.
  261. =Adam Lv11 vs Pidgeotto Lv9=
  262. >A level 9 Pidgeotto? Come on. Stop the hax.
  263. =Pidgeotto used Mud-Slap! It's super effective! Adam's Accuracy fell!
  264. >Aaaand...
  265. =Adam used Rock Throw! It missed!
  266. >...it begins.
  267. =Pidgeotto used Mud-Slap! It's super effective! Adam's Accuracy fell!
  268. =Adam used Rock Throw! It HITS! It's super effective!
  269. =Pidgeotto is in red health!
  270. >I'm pretty sure he'll use a Potion, so...
  271. =Pidgeotto used Mud-Slap! It's super effective! Adam's Accuracy fell!
  272. >wait, no Potion? That's unusual.
  273. =Adam used Rock Throw! It missed!
  274. >Come on, Adam! Hit it with ROCKS.
  275. =Pidgeotto used Mud-Slap! It's super effective! Adam's Accuracy fell!
  276. =Adam used Rock Throw! It HITS! It's super effective!
  277. =Pidgeotto fainted!=
  278.
  279. ===Leader Falkner was defeated!===
  280.
  281. >...I did it. Well, type advantage is on my side, I guess. And Adam's Defense is huge.
  282.
  283. ---------------------------------
  284.
  285. "Hey, trainer. Take this."
  286.
  287. >ZEPHYRBADGE GET!
  288. >My first gym badge. my FIRST one.
  289. >What is this feeling of achievement? I feel... happy.
  290.
  291. "That badge increases your Pokemon's attack power. You should be proud."
  292.
  293. "Oh, and this."
  294.
  295. >And a TM31 Mud-Slap.
  296.
  297. "Remember, TMs here are not infinite use here, unlike other regions. Use them wisely."
  298.
  299. >Oh, OK. Got it.
  300.
  301. "You know so much that you have an IQ of Alakazam. You mix strategy with strength, and I like that."
  302.
  303. >uh, thanks.
  304.
  305. "There are 17 types in this generation. You used their disadvantages to your advantage, and your advantages to their disadvantage. Keep doing that, and you'll be the Champ."
  306.
  307. >Is this what all the other trainers strive for?
  308.
  309. "Well, get going. The path to Championship is a hard one."
  310.
  311. >Championship, championship...
  312.
  313. ---------------------------------
  314.
  315. >Welp, time for the next gym.
  316.
  317. -Violet City
  318.
  319. >Prof Elm called. Is it another disaster?
  320. >Oh, it isn't. The egg is at the Pokemon Center.
  321.
  322. ---------------------------------
  323.
  324. "Oh, hey Blocko!"
  325.
  326. Prof. Elm's aide is just on the counter.
  327.
  328. "Follow me."
  329.
  330. Prof. Elm's aide sat on a table, with Blocko, just face-to-face with each other.
  331.
  332. "...Listen. I need your help. This egg here seems to be dangerous, so I'll need you to hatch it. OK?"
  333.
  334. >w-wait, dangerous? Why me?
  335.
  336. "You will? That's great! Me and Prof. Elm are the only ones working in the lab, but we need another, how do you say, "assistant", if you may."
  337.
  338. >I haven't said anything, yet you just gave me the egg. These are my inner thoughts.
  339.
  340. "You see, Prof. Elm and I have been good buddies since I met him in elementary school. He had a knack for Pokemon, and so do I. We devoted our time to learn more about Pokemon ever since. No one was interested in our research, but we need another person, and that person is you. We need you to carry on our research."
  341.
  342. >People... need me?
  343.
  344. "We were also trainers before, but battling with Pokemon seems... harmful. And it's harmful to me, him, and his Pokemon and mine. That's why we stopped battling and do research instead. Oh, and I almost forgot. My name's-"
  345.
  346. *riiiiing*
  347.
  348. "Hang on a sec. Hello, Prof. Elm..."
  349.
  350. >Hm. Can't hurt to help right?
  351.
  352. "...what? Another disaster?"
  353.
  354. >Once is an instance, but twice is a hobby. Prof. Elm has a hobby for disaster.
  355.
  356. "Sorry, Blocko. I have to run to New Bark Town. You know Prof. Elm has a hobby for disaster."
  357.
  358. >Huh. I was right!
  359. >he does have a hobby for disaster.
  360.
  361. ---------------------------------
  362.
  363. Okay, TEAM!
  364.
