Examined:
The wood used to carve this bow is exceptionally hard and sturdy, allowing for mastery of sound as
it is used to play a bowed string instrument. Over a hundred horse hairs comprise the playing
surface, compressed tightly together and strung taut between the two ends of the bow by an intricate
screw at one end of the stick. A cylinder of silver rests between the stick and a pad that supports
the heel of the bow, where it is gripped for playing, as well as the screw that tightens the hairs
of the bow.

Examined:
Unique carving runs along the entire body of this fiddle, black decorative swirls and knots etched
finely into the wood. The instrument features a moderately long neck, ornate in its composition with
an intricately painted pattern of squares underneath the strings. Four strings run from the pegbox
down across a flat bridge before connecting into a tailpiece, directly atop another set of four
strings; the bottom set of strings serves simply to resonate as the top strings are manipulated with
a bow. The top of the pegbox features a detailed ivory carving of a lion's head.
