While training his ki techniques at the blasting range Ryuu found that his ability to shoot concentrated piles of ki at a target to be both effective and at the same time not so much. The end result was nice but being able to fire off more than one at a time was rather tedious. He wanted to be able to fire off concentrated blasts at a more alarming rate, one that could at least be partial to that of firing regular blasts with less focus required. Being the intelligent prodigy of a great scientist had it's perks, though it was mostly just the mind set that proved to yield the most benefits.

With that though in mind, Ryuu went back to the old drawing board thinking of a blueprint to create a more viable solution to his concentrated blast situation. He knew that he could use his ki to fire of many blasts at once that could either scatter off in many directions or in a spread but the result was always far too weak in such a number. His charged blasts moved a little slower and he could only fire one at a time but with a cannon there was a chance that he could program something to feed energy to the funnel of the cannon more smoothly causing the desired effect that he was looking for. Even if he could only fire one at a time, there had to be a way to at least make it come out faster even if it meant only charging it for a little bit, balance would be key he thought.

Using some left over piping from some scrap droids and some tubing to connect to his main power source Ryuu started to work. The end result was a strange looking cannon like feature that could be implemented in either his hand or fingers, he hadn't decided yet. He thought that if he put it in his finger that it could be used more precisely, but when he thought about putting the barrel in his hand it made him think about the slapping potential of it all. Being in close quarters wasn't his best area of expertise, he was never really good at hand to hand combat, but if he could aid with the curve in anyway by perhaps moving his hand quickly in a swiping motion as his target moved around it could prove to be more accurate than a simple cannon shot from the finger, it could possibly be better concealed this way as well.

Ryuu got his laser scalpel out and began surgery right away preparing to test the device. He installed the tubing from the outside for now but fitted the newly crafted cannon into his palm. Only the very tip of the cannon; the part that sat in the palm; was made of a titanium alloy, the rest was a specific carbon fibre composite that could carry ki safely from one spot to the next and remain flexible enough to allow for proper movement and distribution simultaneously.

The first test was a simple one. A single target roughly fifty feet from himself, Ryuu held out his palm and began charging and too his surprised nearly as fast as he started charging the cannon kicked back his arm a little firing off a quickly concentrated blast. The charging time was cut down by nearly twice as much allowing Ryuu to fire off a charged up ki blast rapid enough for him to be satisfied. Now if he ever encountered another ki user he would have more of an edge in a blast fight, having a much quicker but weaker charged up ki ball to work with. The cannon itself was a success and he hoped that maybe one day he could manufacture another one to improve one of the many droids around him so that he could have a target that could shoot back.
