New RPC Stuff

NEW RPC -- 4/20/2015


Dav has edited the site into a layout that doesn't use Flash. Right now everything is still being worked on to improve functionality and return old features and implement new ideas. Please have patience and experiment - if you find something buggy or broken, please speak to Dav.

1) First things first, your profile has been wiped. Go to the 'edit profile' page and look for
"CODES MISSING OR MESSED UP? Get them from the March 30th backup HERE!" at the bottom of the page. Click the link, retrieve your old profile code and save it. There may be some additional text at the very top and/or bottom of your profile - it'll be easy to identify, because it looks like random jargon.

2) The chat currently scrolls top to bottom with the window at the very top. That's just part of the new format, and may be changing in the near future. The PM window scrolls the same way and currently PMs are not separated.
UPDATE: 4/20/15 : Chat scroll has been reversed (bottom to top) with the text entry box at the bottom. Also, hovering over a user's name next to their post in a chat shows the timestamp of when that entry was posted.

3) There are no longer notifications in-chat of people entering or exiting a room.

4) There is no ignore feature at the moment.

5) RPC will now work on most mobile devices.

6) There are reports of 'Ghost PMs' -- your PM notification bar will light up, but show nothing when checked. At the moment, it's confirmed that sometimes this happens when PMs expire. It's being worked on.
UPDATE: 4/4/15 : Dav has reported the issue as fixed.

7) You can currently double-log onto the same name or multi-log. If you want to multi-log, make sure you open a new tab and return to the core site and load chat from there -- make sure you don't have any of the server indicators in the url (the number 1, 2 or 3 before roleplaychat.com) before attempting to load the window. Additionally, clearing out your cookies or opening up an Incognito tab also works very often.

8) Commands no longer work. /back 30, /lpt, /laston, /who, /msg/, /query... None of those function at the moment. No word has been given on whether they will be re-introduced or not. Currently the past log of a room immediately loads as soon as you enter it.

9) UPDATE: 4/4/15 - Room list view is fully functional and now incorporates a "toggle userlist" button, allowing you to switch between a constant view of your current room or a view of other rooms. Empty rooms are gray. If you hover over an occupied room using the user view, the room topic will be displayed.

10) The color selector has been changed and is reset every time you login.

11) Badges have been added with Donators receiving a gem of a different color depending on how much they have donated. There is a 'toggle badge' button near the color and userlist to turn the visibility of your badge on or off. If it does not immediately become visible/invisible, please refresh your browser. The donator badge indicates having donated at least $10, with  different colors coming at $50, $75 and $100. Payments on a permanent room do not count toward this. Hovering over a badge will give a short description.
UPDATE: 4/14/15: Badges can now be toggled individually and on each username. Clicking the 'toggle badge' button will take you to a separate screen that enables you to select which badges you would like to be viewable.

UPDATE: 4/10/15 : Username Scenery has been enabled as a buyable option at $30, with a 'manage scenery' toggle that allows you to pick from various examples or disable it separately with each username on your account.

12) Using 'a href' has been disabled at the moment for creating links, though you can create links with any url beginning with HTTP:// or HTTPS:// At the moment, you can use <i>, <u> and <b> to use italics, underline and bold respectively. All alphanumeric characters (ABCD123!@+-<>) will appear in the chat.
UPDATE: 4/10/15 : Links are now clickable in room topics!

13) RPC's Logs, Mobile and Mail features are currently disabled.

14) The limit of simultaneous username logins per account on the same IP has been extended to 10. In order to access additional servers to multi-log, you must be logged into RPC already before opening a new tab/window and accessing the login page for a second username.
