  1. > The answer comes to you quickly.
  2. > One of three things is the most likely
  3. > Either she wakes up and appreciates it.
  4. > Wakes up and doesn't care or question it.
  5. > Or she thinks you're a creep.
  6. > You really hope it's not the last one, but no matter how this pans out, you can't foresee a truly long term problem.
  7. > At least you hope.
  8. > Stop worrying about it.
  9. > ...
  10. > Nope still worrying about it.
  11. > Best to just clear your head and meditate for a few hours.
  12. > Breath in...
  13.
  14. > Warforged don't breath...
  15. > Okay focus on something else...
  16. > Something you remember well.
  17. > The first thing that comes to mind are the events of today.
  18. > Not the fall or the various meetings with p0nies.
  19. > The events leading up to this little development.
  20. > The details of the job you where hired for.
  21. > The people you where supposed to working with.
  22. > And the ultimate reason you had accepted the mission.
  23.
  24. > The men who had brought you the contract where a simple bunch.
  25. > Oddly enough each was actually considered a rogue.
  26. > The first, the apparent brain of the group, was some sort of mechanic.
  27. > The second, an assassin, was supposed to be the groups fighting arm.
  28. > The third, an apparent acrobat, was supposed to scout ahead and find or eliminate the most major threats.
  29. > You never got good looks at any of them, as they all wore similar full body suits and masks.
  30. > Seemed rather stupid to you, if they where adventurers chances are they could afford better gear to conceal themselves.
  31. > Anyway, the three had approached you with a simple task.
  32. > They wanted your help exterminating a clan of Kobolds.
  33. > They had tried to sway you with tales of a simple task, and easy money.
  34. > Wholesale slaughter is something you would never consider under normal circumstances.
  35. > This contract was different however.
  36.
  37. > This clan had been abducting and brutally murdering citizens.
  38. > That alone had forced your hand.
  39. > However what had truly inspired your conviction, was another important detail.
  40. > They had begun to abduct children.
  41. > That didn't fly with you.
  42. > So you hefted up your maul and your shield, slammed back what was left of your tonic, and followed them to the sewers.
  43. > From the get go it had been a slaughter.
  44. > The rogues you had accompanied had a simple plan.
  45. > You could use your strength and size to generate a distraction allowing them to stay in the best places to do damage.
  46. > It had worked incredibly well.
  47. > You didn't walk away from the fights unscathed, but Number One...
  48. > Yes that is what he had you call him...
  49. > Had been more than skilled enough to keep you standing.
  50.
  51. > For a while it had seemed that the job would go off without a hitch.
  52. > Of course Number Three had pointed this out...
  53. > Mere minutes later you had stumbled into the main room.
  54. > Then everything went bad, fast.
  55. > The room had a few distinct features.
  56. > The first was an alter, not much different than the one you where dropped onto.
  57. > The second was the shaman opening a portal in the room.
  58. > He just laughed maniacally as he succeeded.
  59. > Then in a flash of light he was gone.
  60. > You had quickly found yourself engaged on all sides by kobold warriors and throwers.
  61. > That alone would have done almost nothing.
  62.
  63. > The beholders that had poured forth from the portal on the other hand...
  64. > Within seconds your group had been cut down.
  65. > You where not so easily beaten however.
  66. > You had tactically retreated into a low hall way where you could fight the flying creatures.
  67. > Scores of kobolds had fallen to you, and no less than six beholders had been slain as well.
  68. > Your skill with your maul, honed over your half a century of life, had allowed you to smash them with but one swing.
  69. > There where however, always more.
  70. > Just as blood thirsty as the last and while you felt no fatigue, injuries, no matter how small did begin to add up.
  71. > Eventually an Elder Beholder had set it eyes on you.
  72. > It was more clever than it's comrades.
  73. > It had used its telekinetic abilities to force you into terrible positions.
  74. > It was not long before you where overwhelmed and fell to them.
  75.
  76. > The rest is history...
