- Introduction
- Hello? My name is 2k10, and welcome to Jacob_'s CTF server. This is a unique game within classicube that pits you against other players from around the world in a
- game of Capture the Flag. This tutorial video will give you a basic understanding of the game so that your quest to become the best CTF player starts on the right
- foot. In the video description below, you will find timestamps that you can click on to help navigate throughout the video. If there are any other questions not
- covered in this video, please ask any operator or longtime player in the server. They will be happy to assist you.
- Game Basics
- In this server, there are two gametypes that are available to play. First, is classic Capture the Flag, in which you and others defeat the opposing team by
- capturing their flag and returning it to your base. To win the round, your team must score 5 captures. The other game mode is Team Deathmatch, in which your team
- must score the highest number of kills by the end of the round, which lasts 10 minutes. A maximum of 8 versus 8 is possible for both game modes.
- Player Types
- To distinguish between team members, you can hover over their avatar to show what team they are on. Blue members have blue names, spectators have gray names, and
- red members have red names. Some players have darkened letters, which distinguishes them as Operators. They help moderate the game to ensure everyone is behaving,
- and most importantly, having fun.
- Game Mechanics
- -TNT + Mines
- The game mechanics of this game revolve around using TNT and mines. To use, simply place the TNT in any available space. To detonate, place a purple block on the
- ground after. To use mines, place them as well. Mines are not active upon placement, so you must wait 5 seconds before they activate. You can place up to 2 mines
- at once. In the server, you will find players that will detonate TNT at a very fast rate, so it's within your best interest to practice fast detonation as well.
- -Tag
- To tag an opposing player, you must stand on your team's side of the map. For example, if a blue player touches a red player on red side, the blue player is
- tagged and will die. Consequently, if a red player makes contact with a blue player on blue side, the red player is tagged and will die. There are some instances
- in which players make contact at the border and both are considered tag.
