  1. I've read Cartragra before starting this, although it's been three months since I finished it by now.
  2. It's been recommended to use a walkthrough to get to the true ending and I plan to use one eventually.
  3.
  4. tue 0030
  5. Prologue time. There are murders happening! Not unexpected. I think I read you're a detective in this one too.
  6. Somebody says something about bringing in a certain detective who always sticks his nose in cases such as this one, but the name mentioned isn't the one of Cartagra's MC. Might have changed his name.
  7.
  8. Some scene about a girl trying to reassemble her mother and searching for her face in bloody black eggs. That's some creepy imagery.
  9.
  10. Okay, "Song 1" - could have just called it chapter, but that doesn't sound as poetic.
  11. We're that detective that has been named in the Prologue.
  12. MC-kun smokes and drinks. How badass.
  13. Sounds like he's in a similar freelance position as Shugo, struggling for work and money to pay for living expenses.
  14. The way he explained what he was doing makes it sound like he could have been doing something shady to benefit his client, but we'll see how his morals are in the future, I suppose.
  15. What's a blue-line district? Sounds like red-light, but more... blue. He doesn't make it sound very nice either.
  16.
  17. We're friends a woman who owns a bar. There's a girl living there that she just hired. May I assume that she's either going to be one of the heroines, going to die at some point, or both?
  18. The bar owner womans husband died a while ago. That's a big flag there. I thought she looked and sounded a bit too nice not to be a possible love interest.
  19.
  20. Cutscene. A raging lesbian in an all-girls academy for rich families daughters. Sounds trope-y enough.
  21.
  22. March 4. Oh, we're not living alone...? An imouto! Awesome.
  23. A corpse in a cemetary is in the news. What an unusual place for a corpse.
  24. Oh, imouto-chan is also in that Academy? Her hair color and length could make her the raging lesbian from the cutscene.
  25. Oh no! We're out on an errand and we're being followed. I can't help but shake the feeling that the narration is casually telling me where locations are in relation to each other. I still have bad memories of stumbling around aimlessly in Cartagra.
  26. It's the long-haired pretty girl the imouto has a figurative boner for. She wants to hire us as a detective to look for her true self. She just says that and makes a well-timed exit. Ohhh boy, here we go.
  27.
  28. Next we get to meet the new girl working in the bar. She's called Hatsune, is that the same Hatsune from Cartagra? I can't really remember what they looked like...
  29. Since she's made out to be frail and klutzy and I think I remember her as appearing in both, I suppose it must be her.
  30. Ah yes, the conversation all but confirms it. The MC seems to know Shugo as well. He also seems to doubt his motives in having helped out a cute girls like this one, hehe.
  31. It's revealed that she worked in a brothel, but, as quickly as possible, her integrity as a virgin and therefore as a possibly fuckable heroine is restored by explanation. This Japanese insistance on "purity" is dumb.
  32.
  33. Oh, we're also a ex-police. Could make the connetion to Shugo less random.
  34. A police guy we know offers us a job in figuring out the recent bizarre murders. Same old, same old.
  35. What's worrysome is that MC-kun alludes to him failing at finding the culprit in a similar case six years ago.
  36. No doubt that's either going to be related or impact his judgement.
  37.
  38. MC-kun thinks about the murders and gets up for a bath. I smell a CG incoming.
  39. Yep, that was all too obvious.
  40. She's not all flustered and repeatedly offers to wash our back, an offer which I would love to accept, actually. Her not being bothered is great, she has her tits perked for that other girl after all.
  41.
  42. March 5 - our notebook has a map! This alleviates some of my anxieties about remembering where connects to where.
  43. Oh wow - this thing has character lists, evidence lists, a timeline, a map and a character relation sheet! This is awesome. It's integrated into the game as well, and not just some outgame info. Pretty cool.
  44. Uh-oh, a point-and-click minigame of finding evidence at the scene of the crime. This could get tedious.
  45. If it's just a "click every area to advance" thing, then it might not be too bad.
  46. Next is an "inference" part. Uuhhooohh, I could be bad at this...
  47. If combining the right things in various places here is the way to get on different routes (if there is such a thing) and to get to the true ending, then I'm not surprised at all a walkthrough might be required.
  48.
  49. A location choice! We get to choose where to go on our map.
  50. I go to the park, since I'm a lazy bastard and it seemed closest, and find our imouto trying to save some fish from drowning. Need I fear for her sanity?
  51. I went to the bar and didn't collect any character points.
  52.
  53. Back at home the vice principal of the girls academy is there. Thinking about it, didn't the girl in the cutscene with the perky tits for the chick who wants to find her true self say she was from a family of pigment makers? Our family used to be historians.
  54. Two of the girls of the academy have gone missing, possibly our corpses. One of them has been gone for a while already, though.
  55. Ohh, he wants us to investigate inside the academy. Is this the part where we become a teacher who fucks his students?
  56. There was a thread on reddit which complained about how unnecessary the h-scenes in KnS were which described the game as being a detective who's a teacher who fucks his students. That's what caused me to pick up the series in the first place.
  57.
  58. Why does the guy not just sleep at home, where his cute and loving sister waits for him, and instead goes to sleep in his office? Is being available and on call right here that important now, but not yesterday?
  59. Ohh, six years ago he lost his lover. Definitely going to be bad.
  60.
  61. Song 2, March 6
  62. Another character is introduced, doesn't seem like I'm going to like her any more than MC-kun.
  63. Oh, one of the corpses seems to have been old already. Fits the missing girls profile.
  64. Oh no, the second girl had her uterus cut out again. Fun. Black eggshels were found in it's place.
  65. I figured at least this one was done by a nutjob already.
  66. Is the coroner lady imouto-chan from Cartagra? I checked, and she was called Nana there while she is called Takashiro Natsume. Not sure about the family name. The character archetype would kind of fit.
  67. She has many siblings? Probably not, then.
  68. She is the sibling of Shugo? Maybe after all, then. I guess the former was just a manner of speach, poking fun at MC-kun for using the same name for both of them.
  69.
  70. Hah, surprise murder! Looks like Shugo is dead. Way to make a cameo. Should have her imouto up in flames to help us. Unless he's only faking.
  71. Yep, he is. Falling asleep while drinking tomato juice? Sounds likely.
  72. He's officially with Kazuna. I found the more or less hidden book on the shelf detailing their sex life, but they just repeat what's in it in conversation later anyway. Not a good easter egg/hidden item. And he has no eyes, creepy.
  73. He calls his sister Natsu-nee, not Nana-chan. Maybe he has multiple siblings after all? :-/
  74. Indeed! Looks like the previously unknown sister gifted him a sex toy.
  75. Kazuna appears. She looks much different from Cartagra.
  76.
  77. First day in our new school. There is a student council girl, who could also fit the profile of the admired one from that cutscene with the raging lesbians a while back.
  78. She's completely seperate, though.
  79. The one that wants to find herself is called Toko, and so is the raging lesbian, actually.
  80. tue 0300 - 2.5h
  81.
  82. tue 1600
  83. Today we start by walking home imouto-chan, which is nice. I like imouto-chan. I can't say I share her love for bugs, though.
  84. And, secondly, I went to the bar/cafe/whatever. You don't expect me to actually do any investigating, right?
  85.
  86. A murder/mutilation sequence at night. It's obvious that one is supposed to think it's the same girl from the prologue and that the two bodies discovered so far would be her work, but that's not all set in stone yet. Particularly the first body doesn't fit what she's doing now.
  87.
  88. We visit the pond at night. Toko is there. I guess they are really trying to make it easy to gather points with various heroines.
  89.
  90. Song 3
  91. Today we give our first lecture. I have a feeling it may just be the only one we see unless there are going to be romantic developments inside the classroom.
  92. We also meet our imoutos much more genki friend who seems to have at least three more different names which I now need to remember.
  93.
  94. Man, all the girls in that school really seem like dead fish floating on the surface of a pond. No wonder MC-kun is having a hard time, it's creepy.
  95. Just how many rich christian all-girls schools are there in Japan, anyway? This is another one than the one from Cartagra, which couldn't be that far away on the map either, and it's certainly not the first time the trope has come up.
  96. You aren't even allowed to talk to the students outside of class? Why, again, did the vice principal guy think it would benefit us to come here, again?
  97. Not that anybody really seems to care much about that rule anyway.
  98.
  99. I didn't realize it at first, but the first girl that was identified was, in fact, not one of the ones we're currently looking for. Now the other corpse has been identified, though.
  100.
  101. Investigation is going slowly, with randomly talking to people and inquiring about black egg stories that may or may not be related.
  102. Toko wants us to come to her house on Sunday, to "get to know her the best way". Ah, sure. She's probably just fucking with us since she kept joking about how we were going to rape her.
  103.
  104. In the evening we visit the school again, and find the nurse just having done naughty things with a student. "She's just looking after them". Oh, I like that.
  105.
  106. The identity of the one dead girl turns out to be shaky after all and the missing Yui girl has a dead mother. If she really turns out to be the culprit or if that's just there to mislead you remains to be seen.
  107. There are white-line districts as well? One of these days I should google what that means.
  108.
  109. So visiting Tokos place was not all that exciting. Seems she has some kind of condition.
  110.
  111. March 12
  112. There isn't much happening in individual days and time seems to fly.
  113. Today we find the body of the last cutscene, with some poetic bullshit in handwriting in her mouth. Sounds like you'll have to collect some assignments at school for comparison once you realize it may be one of the students, MC-kun.
  114. ...And then he goes around "CAN I HAZ A HANDWRITING SAMPLE, PLS?", basically telling everybody they're considered suspects. Sasuga.
  115.
  116. Autopsy reveals both victims where it was identifyable had an abortion. Also, the coroner lady had the first h-scene. Ugh. And I haven't even visited the hospital out of my own accord even once!
  117.
  118. Toko frequently takes naps. I guess being out all night killing people and/or taking strolls would exhaust you.
  119.
  120. After diggin up info on their abortions, we suspect that the students may have gotten pregnant in a secret prostitution ring. Once the prinicpal of the school is back, we won't be able to talk to his "wares" anymore in the hallways.
  121.
  122. Fingerprints on the letter confirm that the first body consists of parts from multiple victims.
  123.
  124. Imouto-chan is worried about us. She is cute and nice, I like her.
  125.
  126. Song 5
  127. Today we go to the art museum. Once there we find the titular image of a girl and a black egg. Titledrop.
  128.
  129. The student council president princess calls herself a criminal and grave sinner. Kay.
  130. And she's missing the next evening, too.
  131. So, our victims were likely part of some cult-like prostitution ring that does drugs and black eggs and she was probably involved.
  132. Of course, now happens what I feared and we run around aimlessly trying to find her. At least we got a map.
  133.
  134. Cutscene, with our perp saying they're punishing sinners so that they can rest in peace.
  135. We know the person on the cutting board this time; I have to say, this is going a lot like Cartagra so far.
  136. Looks like she sold drugs. Yeah, that would make you popular to be around.
  137.
  138. Song 6, more cutsceny stuff.
  139. A girl, younger, it looks like, wandering around in a dream-like scene while imagining her mother is talking to her through a large black egg, trying to find her body.
  140. Perhaps the past or mental state of our murderator.
  141.
  142. We found her body. I think the point-and-click evidence searching is kinda dumb, if the point is just to click everything.
  143. There was a point where it looked like I was supposed to get a choice, but then it was made for me. Either that's unlocked later or I haven't visited the right places and made the right choices before.
  144. Did she have an abortion as well? The killer said something about her impure genitals. The motives remain unclear, either she killed them because their families sinned in ways which were discovered, or because they themselves had abortions. Maybe both, making them extra bad?
  145.
  146. Looks like that last cutscene was part of this Neanis Egg book they read.
  147. Orihime fucked around too, but no abortion.
  148.
  149. Dramatic developments! The other teacher, who has had some weird focus on him with him getting medicine from the clinic being noted in a couple places, is actually the long-lost brother of the Yui girl that disappeard!
  150.
  151. I like the voice of Toko.
  152.
  153. Song 7 - The Human Chair
  154. That sounds like "The Human Centipede", except more like furniture and less like insects, which is good, because that means imouto-chan will stay alive. (Will she? please let her stay alive.)
  155.
  156. We visit the grave of our dead fiance of six years now. Toko is there, too. I think I might be on her route, since I heroically told her I was going to protect her or something to that effect in school.
  157. Instant cut to an H-scene with her. I wonder if this is a dream that's going to end with her riding us without a head? I remember a similar thing from Cartagra, where Shugo had a sexual dream about his ex-lover turn dark.
  158. No, it's a series of flashbacks. Looks like the killer was the doctor who was examining her in regards to her baby.
  159.
  160. The girls in this all look pretty much the same. Smooth, black hair of some length, similar body types, same clothes, most of the time.
  161.
  162. Flashbacks end without incident and we're given a chance to "make love to Toko", yet right now we're on a parkbench. Hey, in Cartagra one of the first scenes was on a park bench too, actually.
  163. I don't really get what she was all spouting about we're the same, and weak, and can't love each other or such, but if Cartagra's structure is any indication, it's going to end badly for her. Hell, we might seal her fate by fucking her, since that was also a trait common with the others.
  164. Since that initial ominous request of hers lies almost forgotten so far, I think it's safe to say that this is not the true route.
  165.
  166. After fucking Toko-chan we get to piece our evidence and suspects together, in a great inference session reminding me of R11 or Umineko.
  167. Anyway, I don't know the right things to click.
  168. Completely unexpectedly, shit hits the fan. Kazuna is missing.
  169.
  170. Song 8 - Writhing in the Darkness
  171. Sounds like the name of a bad end.
  172. Shugo seems kinda lame.
  173.
  174. Song 9
  175. This is definitely some kind of switch and/or bad end right here.
  176. I think it's too early to end just yet. Either the real routes or true routes are longer, or there are quite a few with significant differences to make up for it.
  177. Even though this seems like some kind of final confrontation is coming, the story might well go on afterwards.
  178.
  179. Well, they find Kazuna's leg as the final part to complete "Mother".
  180. The teacher guy is the apparent killer, well, that much I inferred before already.
  181.
  182. Noooooooo!
  183. We get home, and imouto-chan is gone!
  184. Kick a man while he's down, will ya.
  185.
  186. The handwriting in the letters before seemed to be Yuis - perhaps he had samples of her having written out passages from that book around somewhere.
  187.
  188. It seems by chance I pick the right park to go to, and now the man itself (who's probably not the real culprit anyway) is dead and we're supposed to cut up Shugo in order to get the key to save Yukari, who's inside a crystal clear egg shell.
  189. Might as well cut him up, he's lost his wife now anyway.
  190. Eh, wrong decision, we get stopped before we can even see how this still won't save her.
  191. Reload, and not killing him just ends us a vegetable. Reminds me of the first dead end I got in Cartagra, except this time our sister isn't there for nurse play. Apparently she made it, despite being clinically dead at one point.
  192.
  193. Time to call it for today. I shall stumble around a bit more and see if there are any differences after the inference section with different choices.
  194. I think this is a neutral bad end that happens when you fail to nail the perp, as there was no reference to the girl I picked.
  195. By the time Kazuna was missing, and especially when she turned up dead, it was obvious shit was going to hell - Yukari disappearing all but confirmed that it's just a bad end with characters dying who otherwise wouldn't die. Their plot armor disappeared because they weren't needed for the plot anymore.
  196. tue 2200 - 8.5h
