  5. Chapter 05
  6.
  7. Kirara is One
  8.
  9. On that day, Kyouya was alone in the clubroom with Kirara.
  10.
  11. Mao, Megumi and Shion were nowhere to be seen.
  12.
  13. He wanted to try and ask what everybody was doing away, but the one standing there was the tight lipped Kirara.
  14.
  15. He needed courage to start the conversation.
  16.
  17. “Hey, Kirara-san.”
  18.
  19. He tried saying over his shoulders in a casual tone.
  20.
  21. Kirara was always sitting down by herself on the sofa in the room’s inner part, quietly eating meat. It had been quite some time since he’d entered the club, but the girl’s temperament was still the one thing he couldn’t understand.
  22.
  23. Actually, more than anything, he couldn’t understand just what kind of club was this GJ-club. He didn’t even know how to read the name right. The president would always bite him, so perhaps it stood for Good Jaw Club, a club where you train your jaw to make it good. No, that couldn’t be it.
  24.
  25. “Kirara-san?”
  26.
  27. Having received no answer, he tried calling her again.
  28.
  29. He turned to face her side of the room.
  30.
  31. On that instant, Kyouya’s body stiffened in surprise.
  32.
  33. From within the darkness of the room's interior, two eyes gazed at him. Kirara had interrupted her meal and was now facing him.
  34.
  35. “E-er...”
  36.
  37. Without uttering a word, Kirara started walking towards him.
  38.
  39. While walking, she licked her greasy fingers clean.
  40.
  41. Kyouya was sitting on a chair, so Kirara’s arms came from high above when she wrapped them around him.
  42.
  43. “U-um!”
  44.
  45. Kyouya uttered, with his neck bound and his heart accelerated.
  46.
  47. The girl was already considerably taller than Kyouya, she gave vibes of an older woman. Now, this girl was being extremely physically intimate with him.
  48.
  49. Usually, she was a very quiet girl, but where she lacked in words, physical contact abounded. She’d often grab Megumi, sniff her scent and tell her: “Good smell.”
  50.
  51. Just like that, there wasn’t any particularly deep meaning to this.
  52.
  53. She just thought of him as a harmless person. She wasn’t treating him like a man.
  54.
  55. Telling those things to himself, Kyouya started to calm down.
  56.
  57. She sniffed his hair. He could feel a ticklish sensation on the back of his ear where her breathing struck him.
  58.
  59. “Kirara is one.”
  60.
  61. The girl suddenly said.
  62.
  63. “Huh? What?”
  64.
  65. “Kyoro. Just said it.”
  66.
  67. Kyoro was the nickname they’d put on him. It sounded a bit pitiful, but Kyouya thought of it as an affectionate pet name.
  68.
  69. “Kyoro. Said it. Kirara-san.”
  70.
  71. Kyouya tilted his head.
  72.
  73. He couldn’t understand what the girl was talking about.
  74.
  75. He did call her name just then, though.
  76.
  77. “Kirara is one.”
  78.
  79. “Sorry?”
  80.
  81. He really could find no meaning in the girl’s words.
  82.
  83. Still, he knew she was trying to tell him something.
  84.
  85. It also seemed like Kirara understood her words weren’t getting across.
  86.
  87. The girl put herself to think with a serious face. Looking up at the ceiling, gazing at the corner of the room, she looked for the right words.
  88.
  89. Kyouya watched the girl attentively.
  90.
  91. With much effort, she finally found the them.
  92.
  93. With a proud face on, Kirara explained to Kyoro.
  94.
  95. “Kirara is one. Not three.”
  96.
  97. Now it was Kyouya’s turn to make an effort.
  98.
  99. He thought about the meaning of those words.
  100.
  101. Finally, he realized it. At least he felt like he did.
  102.
  103. The problem was in the “Kirara-san” he’d used to call her.
  104.
  105. She’d probably thought that “san” stood for the number three, even though he was just trying to be polite because she was in second year and older than him.
  106.
  107. [TN: "san" means "three" in Japanese besides being an honorific.]
  108.
  109. “Well then, let’s see... Kirara.”
  110.
  111. Kyouya very timidly said, dropping the honorific.
  112.
  113. However, it seemed like he’d been right.
  114.
  115. A heartfelt smile rose to the girl’s face.
