1. >be Anon
2. >been in ponytown for... who cares how long anymore, it's just been a while
3. >in market, getting groceries
4. >tfw no supermarket
5. >really annoying
6. >Carrot Top always gives you a hard time when you try to haggle with her
7. >hate haggling, makes shit hard
8. >she always gives you the shitty ones too
9. >get Rainbow horse to buy your carrots for you
10. >easymode.png
11. >oh look, that's Rainbow right now
12. >she zooms down, leaving her signature rainbow trail in her wake
13. >"Hey Anon, what are you up to?"
14. "Finishing up some shopping, just one stop left. Could you get me some carrots? I think Golden Harvest has it out for me."
15. >Rainbow lightly punches your shoulder
16. >"Haha, sure Anon. We still down for tonight?"
17. "Yup, just stocking up on food. Next is a booze run. Wanna join me?"
18. >"Awesome! I'll be right back."
19. >Rainbow flies off to Carrot Top while you finish your purchase at the cabbage cart
20. >tucking away your purchases in your bag, you jump slightly as Rainbow lands on your shoulders, dangling the bag of carrots in your face
21. >"Done and done! Now let's go get that booze!"
22. >you snatch the carrots and throw them in your bag
23. "Alright, alright. Let's head out."
24. >Rainbow hoof-pumps in joy, "Yeah!"
25. >she's always been cutely affectionate towards you ever since you started hanging out
26. >you just chalk it up to ponies being super touchy-feely and shrug it off
27. >besides, you
kinda liked it
28. >Rainbow is humming with a smile on her face as you enter the liquor store
29. >thank god they have liquor stores in this two-horse town (not literally), you'd have gone insane from drought if you had to go to Canterlot everytime you wanted booze
30. >Rainbow is suddenly gone from your shoulders and in front of you carrying two cases of Cider
31. >not the Apple's brand, but it's all they have in stock
32. >you take them off her hooves and set them down on the check-out counter
33. >"Are you sure Anon? I can get this, y'know. Weather patrol captain and all that." she rubs her hoof on her tuft trying to show off
34. "Yeah, I got it Rainbow. Don't worry about it. It's been a while since we hung out. I feel kinda bad for leaving you hanging last Friday."
35. >"Aww, you don-I mean, you better feel bad! I had to hang out with Rarity that night since Fluttershy was tending to some new animal friend in the Everfree!"
36. >Rainbow huffs and crosses her hooves
37. "Don't you like Rarity?"
38. >"Well, yeah, but it's hard to deal with her one on one, y'know?"
39. >you nod, you can remember the first time you met Rarity. She was a bit... over-bearing. And she hasn't changed much over the time you've been here either.
40. >the shopkeeper gives glances over at Rainbow and back to you, scrunching his muzzle
41. >"Will that be all?"
42. "Yup, that should cover it."
43. >"Ten bits, please."
44. >you hand over the bits and the shopkeeper just snatches them away practically throwing you your receipt, "Have a good day"
45. "Right, you too."
46. >Dash grabs the cider and you both head out
47. "Weird, guy seemed off today. He's usually nicer. I wonder if he's not over me being human yet?"
48. >Rainbow droops her ears and sags a little in her flight next to you, "Y-yeah, maybe he's just getting used to y-you still."
49. >you shrug, nothing you can do at this point
50. "Oh well, onward to movie night!"
51. >Dash hoof-pumps, "Yeah!"
52. "So, what do we have in store for tonight?"
53. >"Oh, you'll see~" she says as she tries to hide her snicker behind her hoof
54. >it better not be clowns, you hate clowns
55. "It's the fucking clowns isn't it?"
56. >snicker
57. >yup, it's the fucking clowns
58. >you sigh and just open the door to your house, Rainbow trotting inside and dropping the cider off in the fridge
59. >she plops down in your couch and pops one open
60. >you shove the groceries in the fridge and take out the carrots, celery, brocolli and ranch, as well as a cider for yourself
61. >plopping down next to Rainbow you place the food on the table and start the TV
62. "Alright Dash, you're up first."
63. >"Hehe, you sure you want me to go first? You might lose before we even start."
64. >Damnit, she's right.
65. >It's been a tradition for you two to do movie night and try to scare the shit out of the other. The first one to give in and walk away before the movie ends loses.
66. >not-tonight.png
67. >you've got something *special* planned for tonight
68. >you smirk
69. "No, no, it's alright. Don't you worry, I can hold myself together long enough to see your scared face writhing in terror."
70. >"Pff, as if! You're gonna be crying in the first 30 minutes!"
71. "Try me"
72. >"Oh you wanna go!?"
73. "Yeah! Let's go!"
74. >you're both nose to nose, staring eachother down in a weird attempt at intimidating eachother
75. >Rainbow snorts
76. >that's all it takes, you both barrel over in laughter trying to get yourselves back together
77. >"Hehe, alright. I'm gonna actually put in the movie now. Get ready to change those pants of yours."
78. "Hah, yeah right. Just play it already."
79. >You pop open your cider as she inserts the tape and relax as she floats back over, leaning up against you
80. >you wrap your arm around her soft, warm body, totally not trying to ignore any buldges in your pants at all. Nope, none of that.
81. >After some readjustment for comfort, mainly consisting of Rainbow snuggling deeper into your side, you press play
82.
83. ------
84.
85. >well, you were right. It was the fucking clowns again.
86. >you gotta hand it to Dash, though. She keeps finding all these obscure clown horror films that you've never heard of that put "Killer Clowns from Outer Space" from back home to shame.
87. >this one had one scene in particular that made you ALMOST go to the restroom for a "break" consisting of a clown, a hay wagon in the city, several foals, and a rubber ducky
88. >that rubber ducky never saw it comeing
89. >breaking out of your reverie, you hear snickering from your chest
90. >huh, that's weird. Dash was at your side last you checked...
91. >Rainbow pushes herself from your ironclad grasp and looks up at you with a smug look
92. >"Ready to change those pants yet Anon?"
93. >Oh. You didn't run out of the room, but you DID clutch Rainbow like a stuffed toy while you tried to grin and bear it. Well. That's embarrassing.
94. >You let go of Dash, scratching the back of your head
95. "H-haha. Don't get a-ahead of yourself Rainbow. I'm still good to go!"
96. >Rainbow just smirks and raises an eybrow at that
97. >"Suuure, whatever you say Anon."
98. "Sooo... could you get off me for a second so I can put in the next movie?"
99. >"Right, sorry."
100. >she jumps off you and goes to the fridge while you swap the video tapes
101. >you rejoin on the couch as she plops the rest of the cider on the table
102. >"I'm tired of having to get up and get more cider. We can just put whatever we don't drink in the fridge later."
103. "Uh-huh. Sure that's just because you don't want to get called out for leaving the couch Dash?"
104. >"You wish. Just start whatever weak-feathered movie you have ready. I'm sure it'll be a piece of cake."
105. "Right, just like the time three weeks ago when you literally flew THROUGH my open window and didn't stop until you were under your covers shivering from fear?"
106. >"WHO TOLD YOU WHERE I WENT!?"
107. "I have my sources."
108. >your source was Tank. Well, not Tank directly, you had to coax Fluttershy into translating for you. You actually felt sorta bad about that one.
109. >"W-well, whatever. You got me once. Big deal. You won't get me like that again. I'm tougher than that now."
110. "Right. You have changed so much in the past three weeks."
111. >she punches your arm a BIT harder than necessary
112. "Owww..."
113. >"Just shut up and play the movie dumbass."
114. "Fiine"
115.
116. -----
117.
118. >at the end of the movie, you're holding a shivering mass of fur and feathers.
119. >Rainbow has her head buried into your stomach, covering her ears with her hooves.
120. >it brought a smile to your face
121. >winning.jpeg
122. >that smile slipped off your face as you realize she isn't stopping. She's genuinely trembling in terror right now. The only thing that stopped her from running away like last time was probably your comment before the movie even started.
123. >damagecontrol.exe
124. "Hey, Dash? You okay?"
125. >no response
126. >you stroke her hair as you hold her a little tighter
127. "Shh, it's ok Rainbow. I'm sorry. It got a little out of hand. I won't take it that far again."
128. >sniffling, she just nods, hitting you lightly with her hoof
129. >"Y-you b-better n-not."
130. >you sigh, glad to see she's responsive at least.
131. "Hey, we still got another... 12 cans of cider to get through. Do you think we can finish them tonight?"
132. >"H-heh, I'm pretty sure that won't be a problem."
133. "I don't know... if you're not feeling that good right now I could always just drink them later while you go of to-"
134. >"NO!"
135. >she's now glaring at you with her wings expanded
136. "Ooookay then. Sooo, cider?"
137. >you hand her a cider as a peace offering
138. >Rainbow snatches the cider from your hand, huffing and jumping off you onto the couch
139. >you grab another cider for yourself and pop it open
140. "So Dash, what DID you do with Rarity last Friday?"
141. >"Oh, don't get me started..."
142.
143. -----
144.
145. >you wake up to a splitting headache as the beams of blinding light penetrate your blinds and hit your face
146. "Urgh"
147. >you grunt intelligently
148. >moaning, you toss around trying to go back to sleep, even bringing the covers back over your head to hide your face from the tryant Sun, but the damage is done.
149. >grunting in resignation, you roll out of your bed, landing on the ground.
150. >pushing yourself up, you slowly make your way to the kitchen
151. "Coffee..."
152. >once you have your second cup of the sweet sweet nectar in your hands, you look up at your couch
153. >a rainbow mane sticks out from the side, from what you can only imagine is the most dignified of poses that Rainbow Dash can muster at this exact moment.
154. "Rainbow"
155. >no response
156. "RAINBOW!"
157. >Rainbow snorts
158. "Get up and get coffee you miniture horse."
159. >"Who you calling a whorse?"
160. "You. Now get your flank up and get some fucking coffee."
161. >you swear you see a god-forsaken zombie emerge from the grave as Rainbow emerges from behind the couch. Ironic, since zombies seem to be her weakness and the very reason she was terrified to death last night.
162. >Rainbow takes the offered mug and downs it in one shot
163. >"GAAH"
164. >Rainbow scrunches her muzzle as she closes her eyes
165. >chuckling you just take her mug and fill it up for a second which she gladly takes, sipping this time
166. "What do you expect? I don't do cold coffee Dash."
167. >"Heathen."
168. >the two of you sit silently sipping your coffee for a few moments as you both recover from your respective hang-overs
169. "So, why exactly are you so scared of zombies anyways? I mean, I figured it out after about a month of movie nights but you never explained it."
170. >"Cookies."
171. "Cookies?"
172. >Dash just nods, "Cookies..."
173. >she looks down at her coffee, staring into the abyss that it offered
174. >deciding not to press the issue on a hung-over Rainbow, you took a seat at the table, Dash joining you
175. "Breakfast?"
176. >"Sure."
177. "Alright, how's SugarCube Corner sound? Some scones sound really good right now."
178. >Dash smiles, "Yeah, I'd like that."
179. "Cool, lets head out then."
180. >you grab the mugs and throw them in the sink
181. >"Uhh, Anon?"
182. "Yeah?"
183. >"Don't you wanna, y'know. Take a shower first?"
184. >sniffing you determine that yes, a shower is in order.
185. "Shit, yeah. That's probably a good idea. You go first, I'll clean up a bit."
186. >Rainbow just nods and heads off to the bathroom. This isn't the first time she's woken up hung-over at your house from a late Friday night at your house.
187. >by the time you two leave, you've both showered, you got a clean set of clothes on, and the place doesn't look like it's been through WWIII anymore.
188. >as you exit the house, you grunt and cover your eyes against the blinding light.
189. "Rainbow..."
190. >"I already told you, if I made the schedule so every Saturday morning was cloudy, the higher-ups at Cloudsdale would have my flank for it."
191. "Pleeeaase..."
192. >"No."
193. "Fiine"
194. >you grunt in resignation and make your way to SugarCube Corner
195.
196. >stepping inside, you are immediately assaulted by the sight of the resident ever-cheerful pony Pinkie Pie waiving animatedly at you
197. >"Good morning!"
198. "Morning Pinkie."
199. >you manage to greet Pinkie properly as you make your way to your regular seat for Saturday mornings. It's the one in the back with the least light shining on it. Normally ponies shy away from this spot due to the poor lighting, but it's perfect for a hang-over.
200. >Dash takes her spot across from you and you look down to see Pinkie already placed your orders at your seats. How she managed to time it correctly EVERY time still amazes you. Your cinamon scone is still piping hot and Dash's cupcake looks like it's fresh as well. You suppose that it makes some amount of sense, since you've been coming here on Saturday mornings for at least a year now. Not every time, but enough where it's unusual if you're not here and Pinkie will ask about it.
201. >But that timing! You'll never understand how Pinkie times it so perfectly.
202. >not wasting anymore time, you dig in
203. >as is customary, Pinkie shows up about 5 minutes after you both finish, basking in your now full stomachs
204. >"So, how was everything?"
205. "Do you even have to ask?"
206. >"Hehe, I guess not. Especially since you always leave me a huge tip."
207. "Of course, you're the best pastry shop in all of Ponyville. Why wouldn't I want to keep you happy?"
208. >Rainbow raises an eyebrow at that
209. >"This is the only pastry shop in all of Ponyville."
210. "My point stands."
211. >Rainbow just snorts and leans back in her chair with a smirk, "Whatever you say Anon."
212. >Pinkie giggles and clears your plates.
213. >"So, what was the lineup this time?"
214. >Rainbow crossed her hooves with a smug grin on her face, "I had him watch 'Clowns from Manehatten'"
215. >Pinkie jumped up and down with excitement, "Ooooh, that's a good one! Did you win?"
216. >"Not... exactly."
217. >Rainbow just looks off to the side, her head down and desperately trying to cover the fact that she's blushing
218. >Pinkie just looked over at you and raised an eyebrow inquisitively
219. "I had her watch 'Zombies from Beyond the Viel"
220. >Pinkie just opened her mouth in a silent 'Oooh'
221. >you can hear Dash grumble from her seat
222. >Pinkie giggled
223. >"So do you two have plans for today?"
224. "Well, I have to go to Twilights for my monthly report. Though, I think she still makes me do it so I see somepony OTHER than Rainbow."
225. >"Haha, don't flatter yourself." Rainbow says, smirking. "Besides, I gotta get some practice in today and I promised Scoots she could watch."
226. "Right, how is she by the way?"
227. >"She's fine. Doing much better after that incident with the fish in her desk."
228. "Ah, yeah... that would definitely get anyone to scale back a bit on the adventures."
229. >you're STILL not sure how she managed to get 50 fish stuck in her school desk. Even Cheerilee was impressed.
230. "Well, I should probably be going then."
231. >you drop a handful of bits on the table, having had precounted them before you even left.
232. >you get up to head out and Rainbow calls out to you
233. >"See you tomorrow?"
234. "Sure, sounds good. Usual place?"
235. >"Yeah, sounds good. I'll meet you there."
236. >you nod and head out to Twilight's
237.
238. -----
239.
240. >be Rainbow Dash
241. >Anon just left SugarCube Corner
242. >Pinkie turns to you with a shit-eating grin
243. >"Sooo, when you gonna finally ask him? Huh? Huh?"
244. >she's nudging you with her elbow
245. "Pinkie! I already told you! I don't want to scare him off! He's literally the first guy who's given me the time of day who wasn't just in it for sex. I... really like that about him."
246. >you smile and blush a bit as you recall all the times you've hung out with Anon. He always seems interested in you for *you*.
247. >"Pfft, well, yeah! Anon's great! And he thinks YOU'RE great! So you should just ask him already!"
248. "I don't know Pinkie... what if he... doesn't want to be around me anymore once I ask? I mean, I really enjoy having him as a friend and I don't want to lose that."
249. >"It'll be fine, I promise! Just ask him!"
250. >Pinkie's enthusiasm never ceases to bring a smile to your face.
251. "I just do-"
252. >the bell for the front door rings and Rarity walks in
253. >Pinkie waves her over and Rarity smiles and makes her way over to you and Pinkie
254. >"Why hello Darlings. How are you both?"
255. >Rarity glances over at your slightly disheveled appearance
256. >"I see another Saturday morning hang-over for you Rainbow."
257. >you smirk
258. "Hehe, yeah. You know me..."
259. >"Oh, but it seems Anon isn't with you? Nothings wrong, is it?"
260. >Rarity looks at you with concern lining her brow, already leaning in to show support if needed
261. "Nah, nothing like that. I just-"
262. >"We were just talking about how she needs to just ask him out already! It's only been, what? 2 years, 14 days, 8 hours and 36 minutes since she met him at the park and then fell in love with him over only 8 months 3 days 8 hours and 16 minutes!"
263. >Pinkie is smiling in her usual Pinkie way
264. >you and Rarity just stare at her and blink
265. "Right..."
266. >Rarity snaps out of her daze and imediately turns her head towards you, a creeping smile on her muzzle that sends chills down your spine
267. "Rarity..."
268. >Rarity sits down across from you and widens the already chilling smile
269. >"Why Dash, Darling. I do believe Pinkie Pie has a point..."
270. >oh no
271. >"I believe now is..."
272. >what followed is a series of events where somehow Rarity and Pinkie convinced you that tomorrow would be the PERFECT time to ask Anon out on a date for Wednesday night at what sounded like a fancy schmancy restaurant. You weren't one for fancy, but Rarity INSISTED that it would be PERFECT for your first date with Anon.
273. >you can only hope it goes half as well as Rarity is making it out to be
274. >"So, it's decided then. At the end of your usual 'hang-out' with Anon tomorrow, you'll pop the question!"
275. >you snap to attention
276. "Rarity!"
277. >Rarity cocks her head to one side, "Yes?"
278. "I'm not asking him to m-marry me! I'm just asking him out on a d-d-d-date..."
279. >suddenly your hooves look VERY interesting, complete with bumping them together at regular intervals
280. >"Oh, yes of course dear, of course. We won't be talking about the wedding until at least another month or so!"
281. "Not helping!"
282. >your breath is starting to hitch now as you breath deeply, trying to keep your calm in futility
283. >Pinkie grabs you and gives you a big hug
284. >"Oh it'll be so amazing Dashie! I'm sure you'll have sooooo much FUN!"
285. >you tap Pinkie on the shoulder as the precious air leaves your worldy body
286. "Pinkie... can't... breath..."
287. >"Oops! Sorry."
288. >Pinkie lets go quickly and looks down scratching the back of her head
289. >you drink from the life giving air greedily
290. >"Well dear, I'm glad you finally agreed to do something about this! Honestly, I thought we'd have to do something DRASTIC soon to get you to ask him!"
291. >you gulp, you don't want to know what 'drastic' was for Rarity. She can get... enthusiastic when it comes to romance.
292. "R-right. Anyways, I gotta go practice and hang out with Scoots so I'll see you girls later."
293. >you smile and it's returned all around
294. >group hug ensues
295. >Pinkie and Rarity say their goodbyes and you head off to grab Scootaloo for the day
296. >as you exit SugarCube Corner, you realize you just agreed to ask Anon out tomorrow.
297. >horseapples
298.
299. -----
300.
301. >be Anon
302. >Twilight's was fun but somehow she convinced you that you needed to go to 'stallions night' tonight.
303. >something about making more friends or some shit
304. >be at said "stallions night" which consisted of Big Mac, Caramel, Thunderlane, Time Turner, and yourself playing poker at Sweet Apple Acres.
305. >several ciders in already
306. >Thunderlane turns to you as Big Mac deals another hand
307. >"So, not that we're complaining or anything, but why did you decide to join us tonight Anon?"
308. >you turn to him and smirk
309. "Apparently the Princess of Friendship decided I could use a few more friends. Specifically of the stallion variety since I seem to be spending most of my time with mares which is 'an unbalanced exposure to Equestrian society as a whole'."
310. >"Ha! Sounds like Twilight alright." Caramel chimed in
311. >"Well, I'm glad you finally came around." Time Turner said, "It's nice to finally get you to join us after all this time."
312. >"Yeah, finally got away from the charity case, huh?" Thunderlane said, elbowing you playfully.
313. "Uh, sure..."
314. >you think to yourself for a moment. Who's the charity case? Was it Sweetie Belle? You sometimes would help her with her homework, but you didn't think anyone would be *that* mean towards foals.
315. >It seems that while you were in your introspection, the hand had been dealt and it's your turn.
316. "Oh shit, sorry guys. I call."
317. >you look at your hand, but you can't focus. What was Thunderlane talking about?
318. "Hey Thunderlane?"
319. >"Yeah?" he looks over at you, placing his hand face-down on the table
320. "Who's the 'charity case' you were talking about?"
321. >Thunderlane just raises an eyebrow at that. "Seriously?"
322. >you just shrug, motioning him to continue
323. >"Are you blind Anon?" Thunderlane asks you, completely straight-faced.
324. "Yes, clearly I am blind as I can see you have two pairs in your hand."
325. >you point to his cards, smirking. He's not very good at hiding them.
326. >"Hey!" Thunderlane fumes
327. >The other stallions snicker in the background
328. >Caramel pipes up, "You know you've never been good at cards, but we never did tell you *why*."
329. >"Bastards..." Thunderlane grumbles, trying his best to hide his cards.
330. "Anyways, what did you mean by 'charity case', Thunderlane?"
331. >Caramel pipes up this time, "Are you saying you don't see it Anon?"
332. >you look over at Caramel and can only raise your eyebrow at his question
333. "Yes, I am saying whatever it is I'm supposed to see, I'm not 'seeing it'."
334. >you said in the most serious tone you can muster, trying to convey that you weren't joking around about this.
335. >Thunderlane spits out his cider, "SERIOUSLY?"
336. >he gets closer and stares into your eyes
337. >well, this is awkward
338. >it's just you and Thunderlane, nose to muzzle in an intimate battle of stares. His breath grazes the skin on your face as you stare at him with a grimace.
339. >finally, after what seems like hours (but is probably a few minutes), he pulls back, allowing you your sweet sweet untainted oxygen yet again.
340. >he snorts, "He's serious."
341. >the surrounding stallions drop what they're doing and stare at you wide-eyed
342. >"So you really dont'..." Caramel said, jaw dropping
343. >you just sigh and roll your eyes in response
344. "If someone would be SO KIND as to EXPLAIN, I would be ETERNALLY grateful."
345. >"Right, uh..." Time Turner said, shuffling his hooves looking at the other stallions desperately
346. >"It's Rainbow Dash." Thunderlane said, looking at you straight-faced
347. "I'm sorry?"
348. >wtf is this? What does Rainbow have to do with this?
349. >"Rainbow Dash is the charity case." Thunderlane explained.
350. >you look at him with a cocked eyebrow and a silent question on your face. Thunderlane delivers.
351. >"Rainbow is ugly, Anon. Her mane is atrocious, her eye color stands out too much, her coat is faded by the Sun, her ears are tilted at a weird angle, she's got no fat on her, and her hooves are definitely too soft. Have you seen her try and buck anything except a cloud? She grimaces everytime because it *hurts* her."
352. >Caramel nods, "It's not just her looks either, Anon. She's abrasive, clingy to whoever lets her near her for more than five minutes, rude, inconsiderate of others, pushy, and don't get me started on her fan club..."
353. >"Oh, I know!" Time Turner interjects, "The way she literally soaks up *any* praise that comes her way is soooo annoying! No one wants her around and she just can't take the hint! Honestly, we thought you were just hanging out with her so often because you were taking one for the team."
354. >Thunderlane smiles gently and puts a hoof on your shoulder. "Don't worry Anon, you don't have to take one for the team anymore. We really appreciate it, but you've proven you're a bro. Gotta hand it to ya, you stuck it out even when we thought you'd quit in the first week! We had a pool going and everything."
355. >"Oh yeah! Who ended up winning that anyways?" asked Caramel.
356. >"No one, we all lost. No one bet past 2 months." Time Turner answered
357. >shock
358. >numb
359. >what are you supposed to feel right now?
360. >you turn your head to Big Mac and he just smiles gently and nods
361. >as if he was trying to be supportive of you now that you're amongst 'friends'
362. >what...
363. >just, WHAT!?
364. "I'm sorry, but I've got a question."
365. >you say evenly, looking in each stallion's eyes in turn
366. >they collectly perk their ears, ready to listen intently
367. "Just... WHAT IN THE HOLY FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU FUCKING RETARDED ASS HORSES!? I HAVE HALF A MIND TO-"
368. >you're screaming, you're not sure what words are coming out of your mouth anymore but all four stallions are huddled in the corner holding eachother and staring at you frightened as you stand over them huffing and screaming loud enough that even Mayor Mare can hear you in the middle of Ponyville.
369. "-AND I SWEAR TO GOD, IF I EVER HEAR ANY OF YOU SAY ANYTHING LIKE THAT AGAIN I WILL *PERSONALLY* CASTRATE EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU!"
370. >you're pissed. No. Beyond pissed. You don't even have a word for how angry you are right now. You can't remember the last time you've been this angry. You're not even sure you ever have. The ponies have *definitely* never seen you anywhere *close* to being this mad.
371. >but none of that matters, your blood is pumping and sweat is already coating your body with exertion as you breath heavily.
372. >the sight of the shivering stallions brings you a certain amount of pleasure right now but you can't stay here. You might actually hurt somepony. You can't have that. You don't want to go to whatever fucked up version of prison Equestria might have.
373. >you leave, slamming the barn door on your way out
374. >time for a walk
375. >you walk and walk and walk. You can't tell how many times you lost track of where you were. Your feet were on autopilot, leaving you to fume silently.
376. >how could they say such terrible things?
377. >Rainbow Dash is absolutely beautiful. Her mane is one of the best parts of her allure!
378. >Her eye color stands out? Of course it does! That's what makes it so easy to get lost in her eyes! You've caught yourself staring into those deep pools a few times over the past few years. She never did call you out on it though...
379. >and none of the rest of the points seem to make sense either. Faded coat? Soft hooves? And what was up with the ear thing? You have no idea where they were going with that one.
380. >but what had gotten you the most; what really set you off was the talk about *who* she was and not just what she looked like.
381. >abrasive, rude, inconsiderate, pushy, and an attention whore?
382. >well, that last one was true. You can't deny that one.
383. >but sure, she might be a bit aggressive, direct, and generally a 'take no bullshit' kinda mare, but how is that a bad thing? If anything that's what drew you two together in the first place!
384. >well, that and her beatiful mane. That first day you saw her, that was the first thing you noticed. The way she flew and it left a matching rainbow trail...
385. >shaking your head, you stop
386. >looking down you've made it to the pond in Whitetail Woods.
387. >how did you get here?
388. >you're really far out now, but it's a safe spot. You've been here before with Rainbow and the Cutie Mark Crusaders when they were doing some sort of 'crusade' to get their cutie marks in catching fish.
389. >that brought a brief smile to your face, but it fell quickly as you sat to ponder what exactly happened back there.
390. >Thunderlane, Caramel, Time Turner, and Big Mac all just thoroughly insulted your best friend and you blew up in their face over it.
391. >no, blowing up doesn't even begin to describe it. You went balistic and blacked out. You're just happy that you held yourself together well enough to not escalate it into violence.
392. >why they were crouched in the corner confuses you though. Even if you had brought it to blows against them, they could *easily* have over-powered you. Perhaps they were just unused to confrontation? Was it your height?
393. >whatever the case, it was definitely odd.
394. >but, you have to wonder. They *all* seemed to be on the same page. It can't be that only one of them held such a bad opinion of Dash. They all added something different to it, but also agreed on the points already addressed.
395. >was there any truth to it? Was Dash... unattractive?
396. >no, there's no way. There *has* to have been a mistake somewhere. There's absolutely no way you can accept that right now. You just can't imagine it.
397. >a world where Rainbow Dash was ugly? Hah! Unthinkable!
398. >you'll have to ask Rainbow's friends about it later. They know her best and might be able to shed some light on the situation. But for now, you should head home. You do plan to meet up with Dash tomorrow at the park at noon.
399. >best not to mention this to her though. You don't plan on lying to her, but you'll gloss over some of the less... endearing parts.
400. >you get up and smile up at the stars
401. >Luna really does do a great job
402. >heading home, the thought of spending the day with Rainbow tomorrow brings a smile to your face and a slight aching in your chest. It seems to get better when you're together with Rainbow so you just play it off as anticipation for all the fun you'll have together.
403. >tomorrow will be a great day
404.
405. -----
406.
407. >you arrive at the park, walking towards the tree at the far end where you usually meet up with Rainbow
408. >it's about 11:30AM, which is a bit early, but you were always early. A habit you brought with you from Earth. Always early, never late. It's what got you the job at Sofa's and Quills and it's served you well so far.
409. >as you approach, you see Rainbow Dash pacing around the tree
410. >well that's odd
411. >you're always the first to arrive. Dash usually shows up at noon. And while she's never been *late* per say, she's definitely never been *early*
412. >except that time when she was late due to some conflicting scheduling at work. You told her it was fine, but it was obvious she felt bad about it for at least a week.
413. >you guess it had to do with the whole loyalty thing. Not holding up her end of the deal or something like that.
414. >that still left the question, why was she here early?
415. >it's entirely unprecedented. Maybe something good happened?
416. >did she get that pay raise she was hoping for and wanted to tell you about it?
417. >that would make sense
418. >you look up and Rainbow Dash is right in front of you
419. >stopping abruptly, you avoid running into her
420. >she smirks and playfully punches your shoulder
421. >"C'mon Anon, don't be spacing out on me already! Aren't you excited for our day of fun-filled adventure together?"
422. >laughing, you lightly shove her back a bit while she hovers in front of you
423. "Yeah, yeah. So what do we have in store for today? I take it you're in the mood for something more than relaxing by the lake today."
424. >"Hay yeah! We're gonna go hiking today!"
425. >she's grinning widely, rubbing a hoof on her puffed out chest
426. >cute silly horse
427. >you smile, glad you brought your 'adventure' clothes with you today
428. >they're really just a pair of durable pants and a breathable but durable long-sleeved shirt, complete with a pair of boots suitable for hiking.
429. >you had these ever since you and Dash got lost in the Everfree a year ago. Your clothes were completely ruined from that and Rarity was aghast at the sight. If you recall correctly, she had said something along the lines of "Get those clothes off right this instant! They are an affront to FASHION!". This, of course, brought instantaneous laughter and you made sure she didn't hear the end of it for *weeks*.
430. >She came through and gave you a replacement for what you had been wearing (improved over the original of course) and a separate set of magically enhanced clothes that just made them more durable and weather proof.
431. >You wear them on your day-time get togethers with dash since they tend to end in some sort of physical activity.
432. "Alrighty then, where to?"
433. >"Follow me!"
434. >Dash smiles turning around and lands, leading the way with a trot.
435. >you follow, definitely not distracted by the way Rainbow's plot sways to and fro or the way her tail seems to be teasing you with how it's just *perfectly* positioned so you won't see anything. Nope, you're not distracted by this at all. And definitely not by the tight muscles release and contract in her rear end, while also not conjuring up thoughts of how those tight muscles might be used elsewhere-
436. >you shake your head, snapping yourself out of your thoughts
437. >what brought this on?
438. >was it last night?
439. >it must have been. You still haven't gotten over how those stallions talked about Rainbow. No matter how you look at it, she's the definition of beauty.
440. >you've been in pony land for a long time, you've had time to get past the whole 'talking animals' routine. Ponies are basically people with different bodies and you've come to accept that. Dash definitely being no small part of that process.
441. >you quicken your pace so that you're side by side with Rainbow
442. >Rainbow seems to notice and closes the distance between you a bit. Not quite touching, but very little room between you.
443. >you've come to learn that this is a sign of trust amongst ponies. They will move closer together the more their bond increases. You've seen a few couples nearly hang off of eachother in town.
444. >looking down, you see Dash's cheesy grin
445. >she notices your look and looks away, her cheeks reddening
446. >chuckling you just turn your head forward and follow her lead
447. "So, how was practice with Scootaloo?"
448. >"Ugh! I *still* can't manage to get the triple loop spiral sommersault to roll into the zig-zag corkscrew quite right yet. Scootaloo was great as always, but it was just *so* frustrating having to end the day without any progress to show for it."
449. "Heh, I'm sure you'll get it. You just have to keep practicing."
450. >"I know. I just get impatient sometimes even though I've been through this enough times to know that impatience usually makes it just that much longer." Dash sighs, "But if I get this down, then all I need to do is cut down on my turn time and smooth out some other things and I should be good for the show this year."
451. "Worried?"
452. >you smirk and nudge her lightly with your hand
453. >Rainbow puffs her chest out and flutters her wings
454. >"No way! I'm *the* Rainbow Dash! Fastest flier in all of Equestria! If anypony can do it, I can!"
455. >She flies up a bit and strikes a pose
456. >you just look at her with a straight face with a few moments
457. >she returns your gaze with her trademark grin
458. >silence
459. >you grin maliciously and rais your hands
460. >"A-anon?"
461. >Rainbow's grin wavers
462. "Sounds like *somepony* needs a little 'grounding'."
463. >you wiggle your fingers
464. >Rainbow backs away slowly, laughing nervously
465. >"C'mon Anon, I'm *totally* grounded. Why, I couldn't be more grounded even if I were an Earth Pony..." she says while dropping to the ground giving her best forced smile with her wings exended.
466. "Oh really?"
467. >you smirk as you close the distance between you and Rainbow
468. >"AnoOOOOO-"
469. >you leap and grab her, comencing with your attack
470. >you dig your digits into her fur, moving rapidly while maintaining a firm hold on her so she can't slip away
471. >Rainbow squeels with uncontrolled laughter, kicking and slapping your body with her hooves
472. >Rainbow eventually manages to roll you over using her wings and lands on top, pinning you arms to the ground
473. >she grins, huffing and puffing from exertion
474. "Rainbow... let's not be hasty now."
475. >you offer your hands up in a placating gesture
476. >nodice.png
477. >Rainbow uses her wings to brush across your body while holding your arms in place with her hooves, sending you rolling with laughter
478. >the two of you go back and forth for some time until you roll up against a tree and stop, collapsing upon eachother.
479. >breathing heavily, sweaty, and twitching from stimulation, you both lay there for a moment enjoying your brief respite
480. "We should probably... keep going... "
481. >you manage to get out from under Rainbow while getting back to your feet slowly
482. >Rainbow nods and takes her place beside you, guiding you on the path
483.
484. >you've been walking for some time and before you knew it, you were both at a large clearing on a cliff overlooking Whitetail Woods.
485. >yoou can see Ponyville in the distance
486. "This is... amazing."
487. >you look out at the expanse and smile
488. >you turn to Dash and see a breeze run through her hair, accenting her look perfectly as she looks out past the cliff with you
489. >Dash smiles and shuffles her wings
490. >"I'm glad you like it, Anon"
491. >you just smile and take a seat, letting the wind brush past you and looking out at the landscape beyond
492. >Rainbow takes a seat by you, leaning in slightly
493. >your sides are touching but she isn't leaning on you at the moment
494. >for a few moments, you just enjoy eachother's company and the comfortable silence that comes with it
495. >"So, how was the meeting wiht Twi yesterday?"
496. "It was good. She convinced me to go to this 'stallions night' thing where they play poker. Didn't particularly care for it though."
497. >Dash looks over slightly raising her eybrow
498. >"How so? I *know* you like poker. You've played with me and the girls a few times."
499. >you shrug
500. "It wasn't the game, it was the company. We had some... differences that were... unreconcilable."
501. >Dash is staring at you now
502. >ohshit.jpeg
503. >do you tell her the full story?
504. >no, that could cause more harm than good
505. >you need to verify it first, no need to jump headfirst into a pool of water potentially full of jagged rocks
506. >better diffuse the situation
507. "B-besides, it's not like they could stand up to *the* Rainbow Dash. Sorry, but you've spoiled me. I'm used to a certain level of awesome now and they just didn't make the cut."
508. >Dash snorts, letting out a small giggle
509. >"Haha. Yeah, you'll have to try pretty hard to come close to *my* level of awesome."
510. >you smirk
511. "Oh no, I've only added to your ego now. Don't get *too* full of yourself. You still can't make cookies as good as Pinkie Pie. Maybe I should start hanging out with her more often to get some of those sweet pastries she makes."
512. >her eyes widen and her jaw drops
513. >"W-wha-"
514. >you boop her on the snout
515. >she scrunches her nose in response and stares at the place your finger made contact, adorably rubbing it after you retract your hand
516. "Calm down Rainbow. I'm not gonna cut you out of my life *anytime* soon. You don't need to worry so much."
517. >"Hehe, yeah. R-right. I w-wasn't worried at all..."
518. >Dash looks off into the distance twiddling her hooves
519. >yeahright.png
520. >you're not fooling anyone silly horse
521. >you grab her from behind and pull her into a hug
522. >"Wha?!?"
523. >Rainbow Dash blushes and looks back at you confused
524. >you shake your head and squeez a bit tighter
525. "Shhh. Just relax. I know you like it."
526. >you smirk and she snorts indignantly and turns her muzzle back to the horizon
527. >she doesn't move away though
528. >you blink, looking up at the sun making it's way towards the horizon
529. "Wow, it's getting pretty late, huh? We should probably head back before it gets dark."
530. >Rainbow nods, and gets up as you release your grip
531. >"Yeah, don't want you to trip and get hurt on the path home. I know how fragile you can be."
532. >she snickers
533. "I fall on my face and sprain my ankle *one time* and you'll never let it down will you?"
534. >"Nope"
535. >you make your way through the forest with the remaining daylight. By the time you finally arrive at your house, the Sun has set and it's early night-time
536. >Dash always followed you home when it was late, you asked about it once and she waved it off saying something about being able to see better at night than you could anyways. This made sense enough, since horses back on Earth had pretty good night-vision as well, so you never questioned it past that.
537. "I had a great time today, Dash. You picked a great spot for today. See you Friday?"
538. >"Uh... actually, I was wondering..."
539. >Dash is looking down at her hooves making circles on the ground
540. "What's up?"
541. >you face her more directly, shifting your body to give Rainbow your full attention
542. >Rainbow perks her ears up at the sound of your feet moving in position, looking up at you
543. >she gulps, and takes a deep breath, exhaling slowly with her eyes closed. When she opens them, she looks at you determined, all fidgeting gone.
544. >she looks like she's about to go to battle or something. Maybe like when you get before a big performance? Huh. What's got her so worked up?
545. >"Anon."
546. "Yes?"
547. >seriously, what's going on Rainbow? This is odd
548. >"Do you want to go on a date with me Wednesday night?"
549. >you blink
550. "Wait, you said date. But do you mean-"
551. >"As in a r-romantic d-d-date..."
552. >Rainbow's still looking at you, but the fidgeting has returned. Her wings are shuffling nervously and her tail is twitching.
553. >holy shit
554. >she just-
555. >Dash's lips are pursed and she's breathing erratically now
556. >oh shit, the damn pretty mare that you like is freaking out, SAY SOMETHING ANON!
557. "I... uh..."
558. >Rainbow's earns pin back against her head and she closes her eyes, her head pointing down at the ground
559. >"Just... get it over with already. Reject me so I can move on."
560. >goodjob.jpeg
561. >Try again Anon
562. "No, it's not like that!"
563. >you grab Rainbow's shoulders, she shudders at your touch, trembling
564. >"It's ok, Anon. I-I'll just go..."
565. >she turns to leave
566. >fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck
567. "RAINBOW STOP!"
568. >she stops, trembling but halted for the moment, still turned away and in her take-off pose
569. >you take a deep breath, looking at Rainbow. Really looking at her you can see her beautiful mane in dissarray, her soft coat shaking from her exhertions
570. "Yes Rainbow. I would love to go out with you on a date."
571. >good job idiot, could have done that the first time
572. >Rainbow turns to you, suspicion in her eyes
573. >"Anon, don't play with me."
574. >you shake your head profusely
575. "I wouldn't do that about this. You deserve better than that."
576. >Rainbow searches you with her eyes, on guard
577. >you just smile and clasp your hands together, trying to keep them from shaking
578. >it doesn't work, but it helps a bit
579. >Rainbow notices
580. >Dash goes stock still, wide-eyed and ears perked towards you
581. >Rainbow.exe has stopped working, reboot? y/n
582. >y
583. "Uh, are you ok Dash?"
584. >you reach out and grab her shoulder
585. >"You're serious?"
586. "Yes."
587. >"Y-you're n-not j-j-joking?"
588. >you shake your head and smile
589. >"No."
590. >Rainbow's mouth splits into a huge smile as she flaps her wings to a hover and her tail swings rapidly
591. >"OMIGOSHOMIGOSHOMIGOSH!"
592. >praisethesun.png
593. "Rainbow?"
594. >Rainbow continues her mantra and proceeds to give you the biggest hug you have ever experienced. You return the hug as you stumble, trying not to fall over from the force she put into the initial embrace.
595. >Dash breaks the embrace and does a loop in the air, coming back to you with the biggest shit-eating grin you've ever seen
596. >then she seems to remember her inner turmoil that you put her through and scowls, punching you hard
597. >that one actually hurt
598. "Ow!"
599. >"Plothole! Don't ever do that to me again!"
600. "I'm sorry... it was just so sudden. I... never expected it and you caught me off-"
601. >you're interrupted by a surprise hug
602. >"Just don't let it happen again."
603. >breaking the embrace, a smile adorns her pretty muzzle
604. >"I'll come to pick you up at 7 on Wednesday. Wear something fancy."
605. >with that she flies away, a rainbow trail in her wake
606. >you collapse on the ground in front of your home
607. >holy horse balls
608. >what a rollercoaster
609. >then you remember that you have a date with Dash on Wednesday
610. >a huge smile creeps onto your face, anticipation already building inside you
611. >yeah, you're not getting any sleep tonight
612.
613. -----
614.
615. >you're standing in front of Rarity's boutique
616. >you've been rehearsing for this moment all day
617. >Rainbow wanted you to wear something fancy, so you brought the suit you tore on accident at Twilight's last formal-wear party that Rainbow invited you to
618. >that ice sculpture never saw you coming
619. >however, you have a secondary goal to accomplish here. You need to verify what those stallions said.
620. >they may have been horribly insulting and rude, but you can't let this go until you find out for sure.
621. >taking one last breath to collect yourself, you knock on the door
622. >"Coming!"
623. >you hear hoofsteps approach the door and finally, the door opens to reveal a white alabaster pony
624. >"Oh, Anonymous, darling! How good to see you! Come in, come in!"
625. >you smirk, she didn't skip a beat. Rarity's been clearly expecting you. Not that you would hide something like this from her.
626. >you step inside, the familiar sight bringing back memories of the many times you've had to get clothes here
627. >"So, what can I do for you today?"
628. >you chuckle a bit
629. "I think you know what you can do for me today very well already Rarity."
630. >"Oh? Do I?"
631. >Rarity has a hoof covering her muzzle and she's fluttering her lashes at you coyly
632. "Oh, yes. After all, I think I need a whole outfit to go with that fedora I keep asking you for."
633. >Rarity scrunches her nose immediately, looking at you with disdain
634. >"NEVER! I shall not make such an atrocity to fashion!"
635. >standing there is a huffing Rarity with her pinpricked eyes and deadly serious face
636. >her knee-jerk reaction sends you into a laughing fit
637. >Rarity blinks, taking a deep breath and rolls her eyes
638. >"Yes, yes. You got me Anon. But just remember~" she says while giving you a wink, "you haven't won the *war*."
639. >coming down and recovering from your laughter, you smile and just hand her your suit
640. "I did tear it at the last big party at Twilight's castle, you know."
641. >Rarity takes it in her magical glow and nods, setting it aside, giving you a smile
642. >"I expected you'd be by soon."
643. "I take it Dash talked to you already then?"
644. >Rarity just smirks
645. >"Why whatever are you talking about?"
646. >you just roll your eyes
647. "Sure, sure. Confidential girl-talk nonsense. I gotcha."
648. >you look over to the couch for a moment and remember your secondary mission objective
649. "Do you mind if I sit down? I... have something I need to talk to you about."
650. >Rarity raises an eyebrow at that, but responds as expected
651. >"Of course! Make yourself at home. Would you like some tea?"
652. "Sure."
653. >"I'll be right back."
654. >while Rarity makes her way to the kitchen to make some tea, you take your seat on the couch.
655. >Rarity comes back in a moment later, levitating the tea set, pouring you both some as she sits
656. >"So, what can I help you with Anon?"
657. "Well... it has to do with Rainbow..."
658. >"Yes!?"
659. >Rarity is hunched forward, eyes sparkling and hanging on your every word now
660. "See, I really like her a lot. She's been a really close friend for a really long time. She's been one of the few things to keep me sane and grounded since I arrived in Equestria. And when she asked me out yesterday I was super ecstatic."
661. >"Aaaand!?"
662. "Aaaand, I obviously said yes."
663. >Rarity is simply beaming at that, she has the biggest goofy grin on her face right now.
664. "But..."
665. >Rarity recoils
666. >"But?"
667. "I want to confirm something with you. Do you promise to tell me the truth on this?"
668. >Rarity blinks for a moment, collecting herself
669. >"I'm not sure where you're going with this Anonymous, but I will be as truthful as possible with you."
670. >you nod
671. >Rarity is sipping her tea, leaned back into the couch across from you and eyeing you cautiously
672. "You see..."
673. >and you recount the story of the one 'stallions night' that you went to only two days ago now
674. >Rarity's expression goes from neutral to angry to furious to amused once you finish up
675. >you decided not to hold anything back. There's no reason to anyways. You doubt Rarity would disapprove of you defending Rainbow. Maybe *how* you went about it, but...
676. >anyways, you've finished your story and Rarity has been spending the past few moments in silence sipping her tea
677. "Well?"
678. >Rarity sighs, placing her tea on the table
679. >"Anonymous, how do you see Rainbow Dash?"
680. >she's locked eyes with you, deadly serious
681. >without missing a beat, you respond
682. "She's absolutely beatiful and an amazing pony. A great friend and loyal to a fault. Even with her sometimes arrogant personality, I wouldn't have any other pony be with me when it really counts."
683. >Rarity continues to stare at you for a moment before relaxing back into the couch and picking up her tea with her magic again, taking a sip
684. >"Then, what does it matter what a few stallions think of her?"
685. >oh shit
686. >she's got you there
687. >since when did Rarity become philosophy horse?
688. >you'd have thought that would be Twilight's job
689. >yet, here you are.
690. "I guess... I guess, you're right Rarity. It doesn't matter. At least, not in regards to my feelings for her."
691. >a small smile crosses Rarity's lips as she sips her tea
692. "That still leaves the question unanswered though. And, if for no other reason than to understand her better, I still want to know."
693. >you fold your hands together and look Rarity in her eyes
694. "Is Rainbow Dash unattractive?"
695. >a moment of silence falls, Rarity's tea cup halfway to her lips, frozen in time
696. >for a second, you think you might just be imagining the sudden stop, but the ticking clock in the background proves you have not lost your sanity yet
697. >after what seems like an eternity, Rarity slowly places the cup down on the table
698. >"Rainbow Dash is not... what most stallions would look for in a mate, no."
699. "And her personality?"
700. >Rarity just frowns and nods, her ears retracting to the back of her head
701. >fuck
702. >they were telling you the truth
703. >ponies really did see Rainbow as the unattractive fugly girl who hung out with her hot friends
704. >you still can't fathom it
705. >her mane is beautiful, not a disgusting array of mis-matched colors
706. >you shake your head
707. >time to think about that later
708. "Thank you."
709. >you give Rarity a genuine smile
710. "I appreciate you being so forward with me. I really can't thank you enough. I promise I'll do my best to treat Rainbow right."
711. >Rarity give you a smil in return
712. >"I know you will Anon."
713. >the two of you share the moment in silence for a bit longer until you look over at the clock
714. "Oh shit, it's already 10pm? I'm sorry Rarity. I talked your ear off. I should get going."
715. >"Oh, not at all dear. Don't you worry about it. Glad to help a friend in need."
716. >you get up and head towards the door
717. >stopping, you turn around
718. "Thank you again. When will the suit be ready?"
719. >Rarity smiles and waves in your direction
720. >"Like I said, it's nothing, really. I'll have the suit ready by tomorrow. Just drop by after you get off work."
721. >you nod and turn to head out the door
722. >"And Anon?"
723. >you stop
724. >"Don't forget to get Rainbow something nice for Wednesday. A nice bouquet of flowers, perhaps? I hear she likes morning glory's..."
725. >you smirk
726. "Thanks Rarity, will do."
727. >with that, you head out of Rarity's boutique
728.
729. -----
730.
731. >straightening your tie, you take one last look in the mirror
732. >your suit was in pristine condition, thanks to Rarity. Your hair was freshly cut and all of the other misc things you needed were in order. You even got a bottle of cologne that smelled pretty good from a store in Canterlot.
733. >the trip there and back was a pain in the ass, but it was worth it
734. >you had even gotten some nice ruby cufflinks to go with your navy blue suit
735. >Rarity had suggested them to match with Rainbow's colors
736. >oh, and of course your suit was a three piece ensemble
737. >Rarity insisted on wearing the whole thing, not just the coat and pants
738. >you really had gone all-out for this
739. >thankfully, you had convinced Rarity that you don't look all that great bespeckled in gemstones
740. >with some moaning and groaning, she had finally relented, but your tie still had some small rubies accenting the saphire blue base color and the subtle criss-crossing light blue lines
741. >all in all, you looked the part of a *very* well-off gentleman
742. >even if you thought it was just a *bit* too much
743. >you can only imagine what she did to Dash
744. >she's sure to have taken her for the whole day today to get her ready
745. >Rarity seemed almost as excited as you were for today, maybe even more-so...
746. >a knocking sounds at the door
747. >snapping out of your thoughts, you grab the bouquet of morning glories and head to the door, doing a last minute breath check on the way
748. >as you reach the door, you stop and take a big, calming breath
749. >just don't fuck this up
750. >you open the door
751. >"Uh, hi..."
752. >Rainbow dash stands there, wearing a slim blue dress with gold slippers on her hooves. It folds under her wings perfectly, accenting her already slim, lean figure. It's just a few shades darker than her coat color and is accented with a gold clasp holding it together.
753. >her muzzle...
754. >holy shit, she's got makeup on
755. >and it's highlighting her features perfectly
756. >not too much and not too little
757. >her coat seems to glisten in the light
758. >her mane and tail are straighened out and look silky smooth, only the front part of her mane still looks a bit styled how it normally is, but it seems more practed and meticulously placed than normal
759. >but even beyond all of that, those eyes that look up to you, they're shining with hope and anticipation. Her mouth is stretched into a barely contained smile.
760. "Rainbow..."
761. >if you thought Rainbow was pretty before, holy shit does she clean up good!
762. "You look amazing."
763. >Rainbow blushes and looks down
764. >"Y-you too."
765. >you both stand there for a few moments, Rainbow pawing at the ground with her hoof and you with your mouth open and taking in the sight before you
766. >oh shit, don't just stand there drooling you idiot!
767. >give her the flowers!
768. "Uh... I got you these."
769. >you present her the bouquet of flowers.
770. >her eyes go wide as she looks at the flowers
771. >"Are these morning glories!?"
772. >she can't keep the excitement out of her voice and she takes them gingerly out of your hand
773. >"B-but how? I never mentioned them to you at all..."
774. >Rainbow blushes a bit and turns her head away slightly
775. >you chuckle
776. "Do you really have to ask?"
777. >"Hehe, yeah, I guess not... Thank you."
778. >Rainbow gently smiles up at you
779. >a few moments pass in comfortable silence
780. >Rainbow blinks and shakes her head slightly
781. >"Right. So, we should probably get going. We've got a reservation at seven thirty."
782. >you nod, smiling
783. "So, where are we going anyways?"
784. >Dash smirks, glancing at you sideways
785. >"You'll see when we get there."
786. "Awww! C'mon! Just a hint? Pleeeaase?"
787. >Rainbow giggles
788. >"Noooo~"
789. >she flutters her wings and starts trotting towards the town
790. >worth a shot
791. >you quickly catch up to her and walk beside her
792. >as you walk, you notice Rainbow's going at a slower pace than normal
793. >intrigued, you look over
794. >Rainbow has a bright smile and she's got a light saunter
795. >oh my lord
796. >that saunter is just tempting you
797. >you feel a heat rising in your nethers but look forward again, forcing yourself to think of things other than the sexy mare beside you
798. >like what kind of place she could be taking you to
799. >Rainbow isn't one for fancy
800. >if you had to guess, this wouldn't have been her first choice
801. >which makes you wonder, why?
802. >do you not know Rainbow as well as you thought you did?
803. >no, you're pretty sure you'd pick up on something like this over the time you've been together as friends. You've known eachother for too long to miss something like this.
804. >but maybe...
805. >Rarity
806. >yup, you're pretty sure that Rarity had something to do with the choice in venue
807. >it would make a lot more sense than Rainbow having a super secret love for the high society life
808. >then again, you didn't know that other ponies saw Rainbow as ugly until just a few days ago...
809. >but that's from another pony's prospective, not an aspect of Rainbow's personality
810. >you've known she can be shy about things at times but you always thought it was just her not-so-secret humble part behind all the bravado
811. >your internal musings are interrupted as you arrive at the restaurant
812. >'The Savory Rose'
813. >wow
814. >she really pulled out all the stops for this date
815. >you've heard this is *the* spot for visiting nobles
816. >you look over and Rainbow is nervously holding the door for you
817. >you find this a bit odd, but smile and walk in
818. "Thank you."
819. >Rainbow perks up and quickly follows you inside
820.
821. >a tuxedo wearing stallion greets you as you enter
822. >"Name?"
823. >"Rainbow Dash." Rainbow replies
824. >the stallion checks his clipboard and marks off something
825. >"Ah yes, right this way Ms. Dash."
826. >the stallion leads you through the restaurant as you admire the plush red carpet and crystal chandeliers.
827. >tables are sparsely arranged around the room with ponies dressed in fancy dresses and suits enjoying their meals
828. >your attention is brought back to the stallion as he continues down a hallway away from the dining room
829. >uhh
830. >what's going on?
831. >oh no, they didn't give her the shit table did they!?
832. >ohfuckno.png
833. "Exc-"
834. >just as you are about to say something, the stallion opens a pair of large double doors and steps aside, motioning for you to enter
835. >you look to Rainbow and she just nods to you
836. >you take the hint and enter first, a bit apprehensive due to your fears that they fucked Rainbow over
837. >you stop mid-thought and stand still, eyes wide as you take in your surroundings
838. >holyshit.jpeg
839. >they didn't fuck Rainbow over
840. >they gave her the fucking Princess suite!
841. >the room is a large room with a single table in the center with two chairs
842. >the room itself is amazing, it's a near perfect replica of a forest clearing under the night sky
843. >small ambient lights shine down illuminating the room, accenting the plush green carpet and blue coushioned chairs
844. >light classical music can be heard from a distance, but you're unable to identify the source
845. >still in shock, you just stare in wonderment as Rainbow smirks up at you
846. >"What? Never been to a fancy restaurant before?"
847. >you turn to her and blink
848. "This isn't fancy, Rainbow."
849. >Rainbow's muzzle scrunches up indignantly
850. "This is *beyond* fancy."
851. >Rainbow snickers and nudges you forward
852. >"C'mon, let's go ya goof."
853. >smiling down at her you walk towards the table
854. >you reach out to pull a chair out for Rainbow but it seems she's beaten you to it and is hovering, looking at you expectantly
855. >you shake your head and sit down in the offered chair
856. >silly Dash, that was supposed to be your job
857. >Rainbow flies over and takes her own seat as the stallion from earlier trots up to your table with a bottle of wine
858. >the stallion fills both your glasses and places the bottle in the icebucket
859. >"The food will be out in just a moment. Please enjoy."
860. >as the stallion leaves you swirl the wine around in the glass, taking a sip
861. >oh, that's good wine
862. >you look across the table at your date, seeing a fidgety mare playing with her hooves as she glances at you shyly
863. >oh lord, this mare
864. >too cute
865. "Soo, I see you picked a really nice place here..."
866. >Rainbow perks up, smiling
867. >"You like it?"
868. >you raise an eyebrow at that, a smirk on your face
869. "Rainbow, you clearly went above and beyond for this. Anyone who wasn't impressed by this would be a fool."
870. >"T-thanks."
871. "Besides.."
872. >you take a moment to look Rainbow over, studying the way the dress hugs her body and how her fur glistens in the dim light, before looking into her eyes, enraptured by their beauty
873. "I wouldn't want to be here with anyone else. You look absolutely beautiful tonight."
874. >Rainbow blushes her wings rise up a bit in response, but she's quick to force them back down
875. >"Y-you look really nice t-too."
876. >blushing a bit, you cough in your hand
877. >you look up to see the waiter coming back with your food
878. >he places your food in front of you and removes the cover
879. >"If you need anything, feel free to ring the bell. I will assist you with whatever you need."
880. >you don't even notice the waiter leave
881. >you're too engrossed at the sight before you
882. >right there, before your very eyes, is a beautiful cut of steak, cooked to perfection, juices still running down it's side with a side of potatoes and gravy
883. >holy fuck
884. >it's been far too long
885. >you stop your drooling as you hear snickering from across the table
886. >Rainbow is snickering into her hoof, watching you with amusement
887. >"Well, are you gonna eat it or are you gonna sit and stare at it like an idiot?"
888. >that laugh
889. >oh man, that heavenly sound sends you into glee
890. >smiling you laugh a bit
891. "Yeah, yeah. I'll get to it then."
892. >you take the fork and knife and dig into it, taking your first bite
893. >oh celestia how you missed this feeling
894. >the sweet tender meat quickly finds it's way to your stomach and you let out a moan of pleasure
895. >"Heh, that good, huh?"
896. >Rainbow is looking over at you, her own plate of food already having a decent sized dent in it
897. "You have no idea..."
898. >Rainbow smirks
899. >oh wait
900. >this is a date you dummy
901. "So, um..."
902. >"Yeah?"
903. "I *really* like you Rainbow, but... I guess I'm just a bit out of my element here. I mean, we're already pretty close. I just don't know where to start I guess?"
904. >Rainbow nods, taking a drink from her glass
905. >"I guess you could start by telling me about your day?"
906. >she looks up to you hopefully
907. "Sure, that works as good as anything I guess."
908. >you laugh, the obsurdity that you've forgotten how to go on a simple date adding to the fuel
909. "My day was fine, I suppose. Mostly working as usual. Filthy Rich had this huge shipment of..."
910. >as the night wore on, you graduated from light conversation to banter to talking about your future goals. The time passed without notice, your attention fully stolen by the mare in front of you.
911. >"...and I think that I'd like to start up a mini flight training camp for some of the fillies in Ponyville. Flight school doesn't have a branch here and I have enough free time with my job."
912. >you smile
913. "I think that's great, Rainbow. How would you get it going though? Do you have to be qualified or something to be an instructor for foals?"
914. >Rainbow nods
915. >"Yeah, but I have most of the qualifications already with my weather captain position. I'd just need to take a few specialized courses in dealing with foals since you gotta treat them different than a grown pony."
916. "That makes sense. It's the same sort of thing back on Earth. Most people dealing with children in their jobs had to have some sort of professional training on the subject. Some more than others, but I digress."
917. >you bring your glass to your lips only to see it's empty
918. >the bottle lies in the bucket, empty as well
919. "Damn."
920. >"Hmmm?"
921. >Rainbow follows your eyes to the bottle and clicks her tongue
922. >"That was good stuff. I can't believe we went through that this fast."
923. >you nod in agreement
924. "Should we head out then? If it's still early, we can grab a drink at the bar?"
925. >Rainbow perks up in excitement, a grin forming on her muzzle
926. >"Sure, let's go!"
927. >chuckling to yourself you follow the excited mare out of the restaraunt into the cool night air
928.
929. >the two of you arrive at 'The Salt Lick'
930. >the name amuzed you when you first arrived, but then you learned salt is actually part of the drinks
931. >you've had to inform the bartender not to add salt to your drinks
932. >you will never forget the day you let Dash order for you and she got you a straight salt cube
933. >the deadpan you gave her echoed throughout the entire bar
934. >as you enter, you notice the crowd is more than you expected on a Wednesday
935. >there were a good ten to twenty ponies here
936. >you both get a drink from the bar and head to a booth off to the side
937. >though, you wanted to start up the conversation with a question that's been bugging you a bit
938. "So, Rainbow, is it common for mares to ask the stallion out?"
939. >Rainbow nods
940. >"It is. But it's also pretty common that the stallion asks out a mare too. Why? Didn't mares ask stallions out where you came from?"
941. "Yeah, but it was very uncommon. Generally the guy asks the girl out and then pays for the dinner or whatever they end up doing."
942. >"How come the stallions gotta do all the work?" Rainbow asks, "Here, whoever asks usually pays. Outside of that, it's pretty equal once you get into an actual relationship."
943. >that gets a good laugh out of you
944. >stallions doing all the work indeed!
945. "I have no idea. It's a cultural thing that's been in place since before my time. I would guess that it stems from when women were seen as property but how that snowballed into what it is today, I have no idea."
946. >you shrug
947. "I like the way you do it better though, seems more like you're both going into it as equals."
948. >Rainbow snorts
949. >"You're just happy you didn't have to pay for dinner."
950. >you chuckle
951. "You know it. I know you said dress for fancy, but that place was *suuuuper* fancy! I'm not even sure if I could afford a dinner like that! But I guess being an Element of Harmony has it's perks, right?"
952. >you nudge Rainbow playfully
953. >"Actually... that only was good enough to get me a reservation on short notice. I still had to pay for it. I don't get things for free just for who I am."
954. >that was a bit sobering
955. "I'm sorry Rainbow, I didn't mean it like that."
956. >Rainbow's eyes widen a bit
957. >"No! I'm not mad or anything. I just didn't want you to think I was pulling any special favors or anything."
958. >that brought a bit of a smile to your face as you sigh in relief
959. "That's good. I was scared I upset you for a minute there. This is... relatively new territory for me. Even *if* we've been hanging out for over two years now."
960. >you scratch the back of your head and look off to the side for a moment
961. >Rainbow blushes and fiddles with her hooves a bit
962. >"W-well, you're doing fine. I'm really enjoying myself."
963. >as you turn your head back to face her, she's looking up at you with hopeful eyes
964. >you smile and grab her hoof, stroking it lightly with your fingers
965. "I'm enjoying myself too. I'm just a bit nervous since, well, I kinda want this to work out. You're... you're amazing Rainbow Dash. I love your sense of humor, I always have fun when we go out together, you've never given up on me or let me down, and you're beautiful to top it off. You're more than I could have ever asked for Rainbow."
966. >you're holding both her hooves at this point, having grabbed the other one in the middle of your impromptu speach
967. >Rainbow is looking up at you, her eyes a bit watery and her lip quivering slightly
968. >"Y-you r-really m-m-mean t-that?"
969. "Yes. I really, really do."
970. >you smile, rubbing her hooves a bit to emphasize your point
971. "Unf-"
972. >Rainbow is suddenly in your lap, hugging you tightly
973. >you look down and hug her back, resting your chin on her head
974. >after what seems like a few hours, the music starts to kick up a notch
975. >Rainbow's ears perk up and she seperates herself from your embrace just enough to look over at the dance floor
976. >"Oh yeah! That's my jam!"
977. >she turns to you with a grin
978. >"C'mon Anon! Let's go dance!"
979. "Rainbow, I'm not that-"
980. >unable to finish your sentence, Rainbow drags you to the dance floor
981. >the things you do for this mare
982.
983. >you had no idea Dash could move like that
984. >and the way she-
985. >a shudder runs through your body as you think about it
986. >to say you were 'excited' to be her dance partner was an understatement
987. >the two of you were walking home after your fun at the bar
988. >Rainbow was walking closely alongside you, rubbing up against you occassionally
989. >not that you minded, it was kinda nice
990. >you were both fairly tipsy as well
991. >but you're pretty sure it was intentional, she wasn't wasted
992. >yet
993. >you even got your hand on her back as you walked
994. >supersmoothmoves.exe
995. >Rainbow's grin grew and she started swaying her hips a bit more as you did that, so you guessed that was a good sign
996. >as you reach your door, Rainbow is hovering at about eye level
997. >"Sooo..."
998. >Rainbow is fidgeting again
999. >you smile
1000. "I had a great time tonight Rainbow."
1001. >"Y-yeah... ummm..."
1002. >[fidgeting intensifies]
1003. >you grab her and pull her into a chaste kiss, holding her head gently as you balance her body with your other hand
1004. >Rainbow's eyes go wide, but droop as she leans into the kiss, your lips pressing tightly together
1005. >your eyes are closed and you can smell Rainbow's sweet scent mixed with some perfume that smells like lilacs
1006. >pulling away, you smile as you see Rainbow's dopey grin
1007. >one more couldn't hurt...
1008.
1009. >one heavy make-out session later, and you're both a bit flushed
1010. >panting a bit, you look up at the sky and notice the moon
1011. "Damn, it's getting late."
1012. >you still had work in the morning after all
1013. >Rainbow rests against you, nodding
1014. >"Mmmhmmm"
1015. >you look down and smile as you see Rainbow in your arms with your back up against the door
1016. >then you smell the alcohol
1017. >oh, that's right
1018. >you were both pretty tipsy when you left the bar
1019. >best to play it safe then
1020. "Hey, Dash. Wanna stay the night? You look kinda tipsy and I don't imagine flying home would be very fun right now."
1021. >"Uh, suure..."
1022. >Dash says looking a bit nervous
1023. "If you don't want to-"
1024. >"N-no! It's fine! Totally fine!"
1025. >it was clearly not fine
1026. "Dash, please. If this makes you uncomfortable, you don't have to. Really. Don't worry about it. It's not a big deal if you turn me down on this. I wouldn't be offering if we were less close than we already are."
1027. >you smirk, trying to aleviate some of her fear
1028. >gulping, she nods
1029. >"Y-you're right. W-we are pretty close..."
1030. "Exactly, so don't worry about it if-"
1031. >"I'll stay."
1032. >Rainbow is looking at you determined
1033. >you know that look
1034. >she's made up her mind
1035. >and you'd have a better chance of convincing Twilight that burning books is a good idea than you would changing Rainbow's mind once she's determined to do something
1036. "Alright. If you're sure..."
1037. >doesn't mean you can't try to give her an out just in case
1038. >"I'm sure."
1039. >welp, looks like she's not taking that out then
1040. "Alright, let's head inside then."
1041. >Rainbow smiles, following you closely inside
1042. "Do you need anything?"
1043. >Rainbow looks at you confused
1044. >"Uh... no?"
1045. >you shrug it off
1046. "Alright then."
1047. >you make your way into your bedroom, kicking off your shoes and taking off your jacket and tie
1048. >you also hear hooves hitting the ground
1049. >in your bedroom
1050. >wut
1051. >you turn and Rainbow is standing there
1052. >you blink and take a seat on your bed as you process this
1053. >ok, you might be a bit drunk 'cause you're having trouble figuring this out
1054. >Rainbow just blushes as she saunters over, climbing up into your lap, pushing you down against the bed
1055. >oh
1056. >oooooohhhh
1057. >this wasn't what you meant, but this is a good thing
1058. >....right?
1059. >Rainbow is nervously looking down and fidgeting with your shirt, trying to unbutton it
1060. >it's kinda cute in a way
1061. >then you notice it's not just her usual nervous fidget of excitement
1062. >her body is trembling a bit
1063. >in fear
1064. >oh no
1065. >nonononono
1066. >you grab her hooves and just hold them there
1067. "Rainbow..."
1068. >she looks up at you and gives you a shaky smile
1069. >"D-don't w-worry. I-I'll be s-s-s-ure to-"
1070. >you stop her by hugging her closely to your chest
1071. "Shhhh. I'm sorry Rainbow. I... I messed up."
1072. >"W-what? N-NO! It's not like that! I'm alright! If it's y-you..."
1073. >you shake your head and carress her cheek
1074. "No, Rainbow. I- ugh."
1075. >you rub a hand down your face
1076. "I was stupid. I wasn't thinking and offered you to stay because you were kinda drunk. I honestly wasn't thinking about this at all. I just figured you could stay over like usual."
1077. >Rainbow blinks
1078. >"Like usual... you mean like on movie nights?"
1079. "Yeah..."
1080. >you look off to the side, embarassed
1081. >of course she'd take it this way!
1082. >no wonder she was nervous before, you were on a date idiot
1083. >hearing the sound of snickering, you look back to see Rainbow barely containing herself from bursting out with laughter
1084. >you snort which sends you both rolling on your backs laughing aloud
1085. >after several minutes, you calm down enough to speak
1086. "Sorry."
1087. >Rainbow snorts and punches you lightly
1088. >"Dork."
1089. >smirking, she scoots up and snuggles your arm
1090. >"But if you think I'm sleeping on the couch you're out of your bucking mind."
1091. >laughing, you nod
1092. "I am *very* ok with this."
1093. >"You would be, you dork."
1094. >you just smile and grab her with your arms, scooting yourself onto the bed properly
1095. >some readjustment and you're both cuddling on the bed in a comfortable position
1096. >Rainbow rubs her head against your chest and settles further into your body, drifting off to sleep
1097. >you spend the remaining waking moments watching her chest rise and fall, running a free hand through her soft mane
1098.
1099. -----
1100.
1101. >the sound of running water reaches your ears as the sun peaks in through the blindfolds
1102. >closing your eyes tighter you pull up the covers in an attempt to return to your blissful sleep
1103. >alarm.mp3
1104. >fuck
1105. >you groan and stretch, pressing the snooze on your alarm clock
1106. >you slowly open your eyes and stare at the ceiling, confirming once again, it is a ceiling
1107. >the sound of water stops, replaced by a soft pitter-patter of hooves on the floor somewhere
1108. >rubbing your face, you sit up, adjusting back to the horrible reality of wakefulness before coffee
1109. >getting up, you move to correct that reality
1110. >as you reach the kitchen, you open the cabinet to grab the coffee beans. Pulling out the carafe, you notice it's full of fresh coffee already
1111. >what wizardry is this?
1112. >shrugging, you pour yourself a cup
1113. >sipping on the blessed nectar of the gods, you sigh with pleasure
1114. >as you slowly return to the world of the living, the events of last night play themselves back in your head
1115. >Rainbow walks in at that moment, her hair still wet with a towel draped across her back
1116. >Unf-
1117. >"Hey, Anon. Good morning."
1118. >Rainbow smiles at you while rubbing her hair dry
1119. >you don't say anything, you can't think of any words right now honestly
1120. >you get up, placing the coffee down and walk over to her, a smile stretching on your face
1121. >lowering yourself to one knee, you grasp Rainbow's cheeks gently and pull her muzzle to your face, pressing your lips against hers
1122. >dropping the towel, Rainbow deepens the kiss, putting her hooves behind your head
1123. >after several long seconds of this, you finally relent, pulling away
1124. >Rainbow and you are both breathing heavily, foreheads pressed together as you stare into eachother's eyes
1125. >you smile and pull her body close to yours, maintaining eye contact
1126. "Morning, Dash."
1127. >giggling, Rainbow pecks you on the lips before nuzzling your neck
1128. >"If this is how you greet a mare when you wake up, I might have to come over more often."
1129. >you chuckle, grinning widely
1130. "You're welcome over anytime."
1131. >snorting, Rainbow releases herself from your grasp
1132. >"I might have to take you up on that. But for now, I still have work to go to."
1133. >nodding, you get up and go to the coffee carafe
1134. "Coffee before you go?"
1135. >Rainbow glances at the clock, nodding
1136. >"Yeah... I can do a cup of coffee before I go. But then I gotta run."
1137. "Right. No worries. I have work today too so that would probably be best."
1138. >chuckling lightly, you pour Rainbow a cup of coffee and join her at the table with your own cup
1139. >you both drink in comfortable silence for a moment, simply enjoying the moment
1140. >you reach out with your free hand and grab Rainbow's outsretched hoof, running your fingers over her soft fur as you look into her beautiful magenta orbs
1141. "I had a really great time last night. I... I'm *really* happy that you asked me out."
1142. >you smile and squeeze her hoof for emphasis
1143. >"Anon..."
1144. >Rainbow returns your smile with a gentle smile of her own
1145. >"You have no idea how much it means to me to hear you say that..."
1146. >tears are streaming down Rainbow's cheeks
1147. >ohno.png
1148. >oh wait
1149. >are those... tears of joy?
1150. >yes, yes they are
1151. >she's smiling and practically glowing with affection for you with watery eyes
1152. >you pull her in for a hug, which is returned whole-heartedly
1153. >you just stay there, holding her tight to your chest as she sqeezes you tightly in response
1154. >pulling back she looks at the clock
1155. >"Oh horseapples! I'm gonna be late!"
1156. >Rainbow downs her coffee and slams the cup on the table
1157. >stopping herself as she's already halfway out the door, she flies back and pulls you into a deep passionate kiss
1158. >you barely have enough time to kiss her back as she seperates, and looks to you with half-lidded eyes
1159. >"So, Friday?"
1160. >smiling, you run a hand through her hair
1161. "Friday"
1162. >Rainbow pecks you on the lips one last time and flies out the door, leaving a rainbow trail in her wake
