I feel like considering the enormous fucking gravity of everything happening, I should probably start keeping a journal for my thoughts. Lately, I've been thinking on a lot of shit, but a few things come nagging back at my mind.

Rules of Nature

First off, how the fuck exactly does our world work? There's a layer of metaphysics at work that defies common sense, a layer unearthed only by researchers of the occult. We recovered information from Aether that confirmed that the human subconscious itself appears to be a form of psionic energy, and they think that all psionics are able to manipulate it. Doubtless they attribute this to mutations in the human genepool.

Bullshit. Every human alive appears to possess this ability in some small quantity. That's why we have gods born of belief and all that related hocus. A mutation like that, not in line with the need to survive, would have trouble propagating. What they describe is more like... a virus. Something that is actively spreading itself throughout humanity.

What the fuck is it, then?

Shortly after I joined PIRATES, I learned of an encounter a former member named Med had at her family's old house. Her Pawniard, Knives, who she claims to have been her brother in the former reality, discovered a sparkle of light within the room that would have been his. It clung to his hand, despite a lack of fingers to hold it, and our resident occult expert, Melanie, could only identify it at the time as sounding like what internet rumor describes as a 'reality fragment'. Imagine that. A bit of the former reality left untouched, in some way, remaining in this world. Med's not with us anymore or I'd be jumping on her ass to learn more about that, but if Melanie's right, then we can establish this:

There exist in this world bits of uncorrupted data that belong to the previously deleted world that can become manifest somehow.

With that said, our understanding of how this world is constructed is thrown into jeopardy. Furthermore, we know this:

Aether is in possession of a Fragment of the world book. This in itself is telling. It means that the book was fractured somehow with all the hasty fucking editing that went on. These reality fragments are different from world book fragments, as I understand it. While the book fragments are, probably quite literally pages ripped from the world book, I imagine reality fragments are more representations of the stories told within, something that isn't quantified quite as well physically. That's why it appeared as a simple mote of light.

Why do these reality fragments exist, though? ...My theory to this, and to my question before are as follows.

I theorize the existence of a second Fragment, one that didn't remain whole. A piece of the book that was fractured before the book as a whole changed. When the world reformed, this theoretical fragment no longer belonged to the whole, broke apart and spread through reality itself. The 'content' became the reality fragments, and the 'material' was subsumed into humanity. Forming... guess what? Eight metric asstons of untapped evolutionary and psionic, world-editing ability in every goddamn human on the globe. That's fucking right, I'm theorizing that the same shit Dr. Sakurada talked about that causes Mega Evolution is also the same psionic energy that Aether refers to as the subconscious and forms gods and magic and shit.

I don't have any proof of this, which is why this is a fucking theory and not a scientific dissertation, but the pieces here make too much sense to me. If humanity is 'infected' with a fragment of the world book, this explains psionic ability, mega evolution, prisms being the primary interactors with Fragments, and so much goddamn more. The ability for humanity to 'grant wishes' as whoever kindly wrote Aether's fuckdump of knowledge put it, is directly linked to world editing. The difference being that the more subconscious idiots you have thinking on a particular subject, the more inconsistent shit is going to be automatically ironed out and corrected, producing less junk data than single minds writing all over the damn place. Even then, it still might not be perfect. Is this so-called Abyss under Zebra entirely attributed to Aether's edits? Because it sounds like they're actively expanding.

Why This Fucking Matters
------------------------

Humans, for some reason, seem to have a fucking hard time utilizing this power for themselves directly, even though Psionics are becoming more commonplace. The most adept of these are Prisms, but as I understand it, there's some limit to even their powers. Aether are looking into this Convergence thing, however, in an attempt to create a new strain of humans capable of fully utilizing their potential. With a Fragment in their hands, and Prisms being a thing, with enough Mankeys and enough typewriters, they'll probably write some goddamn Shakespeare eventually. It's not as unlikely as you'd think.

And if my theory is right, 'unlocking humanity's full potential' will let them go back to full retard world editing mode almost instantaneously. Use one Fragment incapable of world editing to stabilize and control the power of a second Fragment that can. You can see why this is a goddamn bad idea to do on a mass scale, or even on just in their upper echelon.

What Can I Fucking Do About It?

I hate to put it this fucking way, but something I've found out about myself lately is that I'm special. Not in the normal bullshit way that your mom tells you when you're growing up only for you to find out you're just average later, but actually fucking special. My existence is forged out of more... 'data', let's say, than my peers. There used to be a Vileplume that I bonded with as a child, now there fucking isn't, because Aether shoved its data into mine to create a goddamn fucking mess of an asshole. Initially, this only manifested as poison-type psionic powers, but then Murphy came up with this brilliant idea of visiting Swanna to go roll around in her library until some pages stuck, and that's how I found out about this shit to begin with.

After that, I started manifesting Grass type psionics too. Why is that special? Because as far as I know, THERE ISN'T ANY OTHER FUCKING HUMAN THAT CAN DO THIS. Mako has something like this, but as far as I know his powers are a divine gift and not natural. Even Aether itself has noted my dual-type mastery as unusual and noteworthy. To them I must either be a Prism who hasn't awakened to his full potential, or I'm an anomaly. Hint: It's the latter.

I'm half Pokemon, which is why this is how it is. Genetically, you probably wouldn't find any difference apart from whatever metagene they might claim causes psionics in the first place, but that's not the only place it's manifested. I'm a hell of a lot different from 'Detective Nicholas Knight'. I've never felt like I've fit in with mainstream human society, and it's come to light recently why. Pokemon fuck who they want, and when they form pair bonds it's because they want that level of commitment, not because society would frown on it. They're loyal to a select few, like a trainer and their team. That's... exactly what the Eclipse, and now the Mutiny's been like. Little things that just add up and didn't click until I thought about them.

...So what do I do with this knowledge? I've thought about this time and time again, and I think I've come on to an answer. I need to beat Team Aether at their own game and improve myself beyond my human limits. Possessing the untapped power of a human, and the abilities of a Pokemon... I might be the only one in PIRATES capable of this.

I need to find a way to induce Mega Evolution.

And for that, I'm going to need a deeper understanding. ...Mayuri could possibly induce it if she were to obtain the Fragment, but still, I wonder... Is linking both halves of my power something I'm capable of? I need to understand Mega Evolution itself more, or have a strong enough will and sufficient energy to bullshit it.

More time and thought are required.

...A ritual circle made of fans blowing a current of air. Stupidly ingenious. I'm honestly surprised they managed to make it steady enough despite being a moving medium. Though maybe that in itself lent strength to it.

...It does make me wonder, though. A sufficient, moving concentration of an element, arranged in just the right way... Would it be possible to do the same thing with the poisonous blood in my body? That could be dangerous...
