  1. While classes are going on, I generally don't speedrun very much mostly because I share a room, so I can't stay up all night at my computer to stream, and during the day, I usually have plans or should be doing homework or something. So, save for the odd night or weekend when I'm able to stream, I won't be streaming very much. My plans for the near future involve getting a console pb on oos, ooa, tmc, ktnt, and ladx, and also learning/running super metroid and majora's mask. I had originally planned on trying to get pb's in oos, ooa, tmc, and ktnt during winter break, but that didn't work out.

  3. I thought oos would've been easier to do, and it probably would've been fine if I had given it a few more no reset runs, but it's just too long of a game for the lack of deep movement tech for me. Back when I was running on emulator, I was able to practice more easily, and I was able to put in some 'tricks' in d3 and d7 to make them a bit more interesting to me, but in general, the movement is just apply pegasus seed and hold in the direction you want to go, and it just doesn't feel fast. I still think it's a good game, it's just a tough speedrun to motivate for for multiple runs.

  5. Ooa was just daunting to start when abl, bt, ktnt, and oos could be done with basically no review of tricks or anything. In addition, the intro is boring (too much story) and Veran skip is not a very fun trick, and it's said to be worse on console, so I was just unmotivated for it during the break.

  7. Tmc is a decent game, but it doesn't really feel like a speedgame until you get ocarina basically, so it wasn't a very high priority, and I'll probably not go for a good time in that game ever because there are so many better games, I think. There is a way to do rng manipulation in there though, so it might be interesting to look for some use for that in the run.

  9. I'm sad I wasn't able to do ktnt more during the break, but my cart would randomly not work in my gamecube which was really annoying and makes no sense to me. It's a fun game, and I would like to get a time recorded for it.
  10.
  11. I'd also really like to get back in to ladx, but on console. I probably won't dabble with the categories other than the 3 I've already done, and I'll probably work harder on the s+q category whenever I get a cart. But it will probably be quite a while before I get a cart because I'd need 1.0 and I haven't ever tried to get a 1.0 cart before, and I just have some apprehension with that. But I do plan on going back to ladx sometime in the future.

  13. Now, there are a couple of games that I've run that I don't have a console pb for but I haven't mentioned, namely Utsurun Desu and Four Swords: Anniversary Edition. Basically, I won't go back to Utsurun unless I get a nes and the game, which will probably not happen for quite a while, but I would definitely go back to it. For Four Swords: Anniversary Edition, I was a major dumb and bricked my old 3ds; thankfully Nintendo was pretty based and let me redownload all of the vc except for FS:AE, because that wasn't left on the eshop. I can probably do that new softmod to get it, but without being able to record, it's definitely not a speedgame worth that when I have a bunch of others I can more easily record.

  15. Now, for Super Metroid, I actually bought the game (twice, lol) off ebay over a year ago because my roommate really wanted to play the game, and I thought it would be a cool game to have. I didn't have a snes at the time, and he kept saying he'd bring his down, but that never happened. So, last semester I finally bought a snes, and I liked super metroid a lot more than I thought I would. It may be overplayed (on account that I'm currently 333rd on deertier) but I can definitely see why. As for a goal for this game, I'd probably be happy with cutting the hour, but having completed only one run, it's hard to say.

  17. Majora's Mask just seems interesting to me. I've played around with hovering and the sort a bit before and it was pretty neat, and it's a pretty good length as well, so I think it'd be fun to try.
  18.
  19. Oh yeah, and tetris eventually, but I'm bad.

  21.
  22. That's about it for speedgaming I think. I'm going to try looking for some sort of manipulation in Crusader of Centy for Geurge sometime soon, but other than that, those are pretty much my plans for now.

  24. As for school and such, I'm not sure what I should do really. Lately, I've been more interested in languages than math (which is my major), spending a lot more time working on learning Japanese than reading/writing the papers I should be. True, my advisor for the paper I'm writing hasn't gotten back to me for a couple months on the paper I'm writing but still... And I do want to finish my undergrad pretty much as soon as possible, which now would be after 3 1/2 years, but if I stay the full 4 I can get a japanese business minor...
  25.
  26. On the topic of languages, I feel really conflicted about how well I'm doing in Japanese. I feel like for every foreign language I've tried, I just don't have any confidence in speaking it, which makes it hard to gauge how well I know it. It happened for French and it's now happening for Japanese. I think I just need to work on my vocabulary in these languages and it should be ok, but I haven't really found a way to do that that interests me. Japanese is easier to motivate than French for me because I have an interest in writing systems, so the kanji are easy to motivate to learn, and the vocabulary comes from those kanji. Other than Japanese, I want to relearn French, and learn Korean, German, Finnish... but who has the time?

  28. Anyway, this was basically me filling time while 2 people came for my 2 1/2 hour tutoring shift, so if you read all that thanks I guess.
