* Shinji so, I've decided we can meet at the park. It's a nice day, though not a lot of people are there-- probably too warm for a lot of them.
* Shinji is waiting at one of the park benches for Ruka to arrive, looking through a few cards in the meantime
* @Ruka enters the park and looks around for Shinji. She smiles when she spots him at one of the benches, so walks over to him.
<@Ruka> Shinji!
<Shinji> *looks up, smiling as he stands up, putting his cards into his holder at his side* Ruka, thanks for taking the time to come.
<@Ruka> It's no problem!
<@Ruka> I'm glad we got the time to meet up
<Shinji> I'm glad, too. I know you've probably been busy with your own work, so...
<@Ruka> I have... but it's good to take a break now and then.
<Shinji> Heh. Though... I'll admit, I called you out for something more than just seeing you. *rubbing his head sheepishly*
* @Ruka looks at him curiously.
<@Ruka> Oh? Well, if there is something you need to tell me or help you with, I'd be happy to listen or help.
<Shinji> I definitely want to tell you this. Because... I trust you, Ruka. You're probably one of the only ones in this city that I trust enough to go into detail on this.
<@Ruka> Really? I'm honored you feel you can trust me so much. I'd be happy to listen to what you have to tell me and you have my word that it'll be kept just between us.
<Shinji> Thank you. Ah, to start, well... Have you heard anything about my family, first of all?
<@Ruka> The Samasu family. Yes, I do know a little bit, mostly what Juudai has told me.
<Shinji> Well, then you'd know that we all basically have unique abilities, because of a contract we're under. Some of us are probably more open about it than others, but I prefer to keep mine a bit quiet. But it all ties into why I could communicate with your deck, back when that Number had you.
<@Ruka> *nods* So your power is sort of spirit related?
<Shinji> In a way. To put it the most simply, I can create a bond with my cards. Only it's more... Expanded, than just emotional bonds.
<@Ruka> Expanded?
<Shinji> I can essentially channel the cards and abilities from them, after I have a bond with them.
<@Ruka> I see. So does that mean you can use their abilities as your own once that bond is formed?
* Shinji nods a bit
<@Ruka> That sounds really amazing
<Shinji> So say for instance, I were to use... *he pulls out a card from his holder. A Wattfox card. He then pulls out what seems to be a metal extendable baton from his pocket, extending it with a snap* This.
* Shinji he taps the card to the baton for a moment, and for a moment, you might see a Wattfox itself appearing, too quick too tell, as suddenly the baton cackles with electricity. Before it dies out within a few seconds.
* Shinji don't want it to last too long
<Shinji> Like that.
* @Ruka 's eyes widen. As fast as it was, it seems to have impressed her!
<@Ruka> That really IS amazing!
<Shinji> Eheh, you really think so? *he looks flattered at your reaction, putting away the baton and Wattfox* I'm at least glad you think that. It is amazing, when you think of it. But I'll admit it comes with a couple things that worry me about it.
<@Ruka> Oh? Things that worry you?
<Shinji> Mmhm. It's hard to explain, especially since for this first thing, I'm not too sure on it myself. But... You can tell if a spirit is inside of a card, right?
<@Ruka> *nods* Yes, I can.
<Shinji> Then you'd understand the fact that not all cards actually have an active spirit in them.
* @Ruka nods
<Shinji> Well... What if I said that I could potentially give any card a sense of life? And it's how I'm able to then create a bond with them?
* @Ruka looks surprised
<@Ruka> You can create spirits...?
<Shinji> It's not something I've confirmed yet. But it's very likely. Of course, I don't like to think of any of the cards I've bonded with, as not having been "alive" before I even had them, but signs at least point to the idea that it's there.
<@Ruka> That truely would be amazing if you can.
<Shinji> Yes, but you can probably see why it's also worrying. And why I'd rather not a lot of people know about it.
* @Ruka nods
<@Ruka> I understand, yes. Such a power could be quite dangerous if used incorrectly.
<Shinji> Yes. Especially since there's likely many ways that people could manipulate others. If someone manipulated me and gave me a dangerous card to make me form a "bond" with... *he shakes his head* I think I don't need to go into detail, there.
<@Ruka> Yes, that outcome would definintley not be good.
<Shinji> *sighing slightly* Of course, like I said. I'm not sure on it yet. And... I really dislike thinking that they weren't alive, before. Maybe I've just been lucky. I hope I've just been lucky.
<@Ruka> I can understand your feelings on it, I think either way, no matter how they came about, they are now spirits you have an important bond with.
<@Ruka> That you can rely on when you need them.
<Shinji> Mm... *he nods a bit, smiling* That's right. I can rely on them. Heh. For the longest time really, they were the only friends I had around.
<@Ruka> Really? Well, at least you had them then and at least now you have me and the others too.
<Shinji> Yeah, I do. And I'm thankful for that.

<Shinji> ... As for the other thing... *takes a deep breath* As for it, I am going to admit that I've not been completely honest about not knowing what my dreams might be about.  It's true I don't know what their aim or meaning is, but I think I know what they're from.
<@Ruka> What are they from?
<Shinji> ... Months before I came to the school, something happened. I think you'd accurately call it... A power surge.
<@Ruka> Power surge?
<Shinji> Yes. Like for a moment, I felt too much power. The power that gives me my abilities. Something had happened then concerning the contract, and as a result... A card was made. From me.
<@Ruka> A whole card? Which one?
* Shinji he reaches into his holder to take out a card-shaped metallic case
* Narration-kun so, while you do that, two pillars of light shoot up into the air, as the sky twists and warps into a hole
* Shinji !?
<Shinji> What in the--
<@Ruka> What's that!?
* Narration-kun a light falls out and you hear an explosion from deeper in the park.
* Shinji that's causing the few other people in the park to run away, since explosions are bad.
<Shinji> ... should we... Should we go see...?
* @Ruka looks over at Shinji. She looks on edge, but she nods.
<@Ruka> We should probably see what it is.
* Shinji goes to look, then, walking a bit quickly, anxiously. Hand in the pocket where his baton was.
* Narration-kun you hear a loud feral roar reverberating
<@Ruka> ...that doesn't sound too good...
<Shinji> That. Really doesn't.
* Shinji is understandably worried looking as they get closer to the source.
* @Ruka following beside Shinji, looking just as worried
* Narration-kun the ground is shaking as you get closer to the source, and the wind is blowing harder and harder.
<@Ruka> ...w-what is this...?
* Shinji can we see what it is, yet?
* Narration-kun yes, it's a giant weasel or sauropod with a massive horn and it looks entirely made of wind.
* Shinji o-oh. well. that's not good, definitely.
* Narration-kun and it's got a harness attached to it, dragged ... is that a giant piece of rock
* Shinji ... why is there a giant rock attached to it?
* Daibakaze that's a good question, but it is roaring, dragging said rock.
* Daibakaze ROAR
<@Ruka> Was that rock put on it on purpose? Hm...
<Shinji> ... it's... it's likely. There's no reason otherwise, with a harness like that...
<@Ruka> ...maybe I should try talking to it, try and calm it down...
* Daibakaze stomp, stomp, drags the rock forward slowly.
* @Ruka doesn't want to risk getting too close though, it seems awfully strong if it's able to drag that rock
<Shinji> ... I'll be with you. If it tries to attack you, I'll protect you as much as I can.
* @Ruka looks over at Shinji and nods, before she tries to get a bit closer to the creature, but still staying a safe distance from it.
* Daibakaze well is a Weasel Sauropod.
* Shinji keeps close to Ruka, keep a hold of a card in his holder, just in case
* Daibakaze getting near it is a chore, as uh, it's made of fierce blowing winds.
* Daibakaze it feels like you're heading straight into a nasty storm.
* @Ruka tries to fight against the wind to step a little closer, but she struggles.
<@Ruka> Hey, it's okay! I know you're scared and angry, but we can help you if you let us!
<@Ruka> Please spirit, you can trust us. We aren't going to hurt you
* Shinji it is definitely very hard to keep steady in this wind, but he has to handle it if he's going to support Ruka on it.
<@Ruka> Please, reduce the wind and we can talk with you!
* @Ruka tries stepping in a bit further, her hands up in front to try and protect herself from the strong wind
<Shinji> Nngnh... *he takes out the card he had with him. maybe this'll work...* G-Gem-Turtle! *the card glows, as what seems to be a translucent, if emerald-like barrier appears in front of Ruka and himself. It... doesn't remove the wind, but it does make it easier to handle the gusting*
* Shinji the barrier is just big enough to block in front of them, but you can see the wind whipping around the sides of it

* Shinji he nods a bit, but he has to focus on keeping the barrier up against the wind.
* @Ruka looks up over the creature
<@Ruka> Please, calm down! I promise we can help if you give us the chance too!

* Daibakaze it lifts its foot and stomps forward dragging the rock.
<@Ruka> I think it's too upset for me to get through to it...
* Daibakaze it seems focused on moving the rock, as if someone told it to...? Or it likes moving rocks.
<@Ruka> Hm... I wonder if it's taking the rock somewhere?
<Shinji> Maybe... *looks to see how deeply it might be dragging the rock into the ground*
* Shinji and also how sturdy looking the harness is
* Daibakaze incredibly. And it's made of gold plated metal and iron chains
* Daibakaze that rock is ripping the ground and its foot prints are pretty heavy too
* @Ruka looks over at the rock to see if there is anything special about that.
* Daibakaze yes. It's covered in runes and mystical scribbles

<@Ruka> ...if it is taking it somewhere, then where...
<Shinji> I don't know. I wonder if it even wants to be dragging it along?
<@Ruka> ...who knows. It seems determined though.
<@Ruka> I'm just concerned about what the rock is for...
<Shinji> Mm... *of course, he's worried about the moment that the creature might notice them and decide they're in its' way.*
* @Ruka yeah, that too.
* Daibakaze it just noticed you
* Shinji oh no
* Daibakaze and it doesn't look happy.

* Daibakaze it's going to try and stomp you with its forepaw
* Shinji how quickly is it moving to do it?
* Daibakaze my foot? Pretty quick.
* Daibakaze I am wind
* Shinji oh god no, the barrier manages to hold it back somewhat, but it's quickly overpowered, since it is a strength difference at hand, here. Both Shinji and Ruka are thrown back from the barrier shattering, thankfully causing the backlash needed to get them out of the way. But now they're back in that strong gusting
* @Ruka attempts to get up but the strong gusting is making it difficult to move properly
* Daibakaze the beast proceeds to ignore you and starts stomping forward
<Shinji> ... it's not going to stop, is it.
<@Ruka> *shakes her head* It isn't. We might have to get help.
<Shinji> We do. At this rate, it's going to tear up the whole park, and if it gets out of here... who knows how the city will handle this.
* @Ruka goes into her pocket and pulls out her phone, ready to call Juudai, but as she does, some debris carried by the wind hits her arm and she drops the phone causing it to fall down the crater.
* Daibakaze growls and roars like a fierce wind.
<@Ruka> Ah...! No!
* Shinji oh that's not good. looks up at the monster.
<Shinji> ... Ruka, you think you can run to get help?
* @Ruka looks over at Shinji and nods
<@Ruka> Will you be alright here on your own?
<Shinji> *laughs nervously* I'm not really sure if I will be, but I can at least try to make sure it doesn't get much farther.
* Daibakaze ... ... ... it seems to be getting a handle of this rock and ground thing and seems to be speeding up... like from 2 MPH to 8 MPH. Not significant but still troublesome
* Shinji that is troublesome
* Daibakaze let us be thankful it hasn't realized it's made of wind and isn't just levitating itself and the rock to the location
* Shinji ... oh god that would be terrible.
* Shinji gets out a card-- seems to be a Gusto Griffin if Ruka notices it, as he taps his shoes with it. Since it's so quick with its' attacks, he should make sure he's lighter on his feet. It's hard to tell difference though visually, with all of the wind gusting around.
* @Ruka watches him do this then nods at him.

* Shinji moves to get in front of the beast, to try to draw it's attention. He's definitely moving faster now, his feet barely touching the ground at times.
* @Ruka begins to move away from the monster and shinji. As she does, the wind lessens and she is able to move faster and faster. Once she is out of the gusting, she quickly runs to the exit of the park.
* Daibakaze it notices you and feels offended you're in my way.
* Shinji well keep feeling offended instead of moving forward
* Shinji he's even put back up the barrier just in case, but it won't be able to take any sort of direct hit
* Daibakaze well it's direct hitting with its foot
* Shinji is jumping out of the way actually, since he's lighter on his feet-- but that means that the wind is carrying him back more once he gets off the ground.
* Shinji he tries to stay in front of the monster though, trying to keep it distracted
* Daibakaze it decides to charge at you with its feet, rocking the rock, now you have it annoyed.
* Shinji oh god, he moves to get out of the way, but your size and speed means he still gets hit, the barrier shattering again and throwing him back. oof.
* Daibakaze roars like the sound of a fast gale
* Shinji I take it that does not help in the attempt to get back up
* Daibakaze probably.
* Daibakaze it looks upon you with a cruel but ultimately animalistic face
* Daibakaze so animalistic face, probably tries to squishy stomp again
* Shinji well that sure isn't good for him, since he can't really getting up easily. The most fortunate thing that might happen is that the wind whipping around the monster is strong enough that they can't even step on him without blowing him again.
* Daibakaze well it's kind of dumb and is going to try and stomp on you anyways
* Shinji ghkh--- he tries to get up after the last time you went ahead and tried to stomp on him. Good thing it's kinda dumb. It at least means it's distracted. He unsteadily gets up, going to move again. Wind, wind... How can he handle so much wind?
* Daibakaze become a rock
* Shinji hnm, my best choice is really just the barrier from Gem-Turtle, but it can't stand any direct hits, especially against something so much more powerful...
* Daibakaze STOMP again... which just blows you aside. Man that's pissing it off.
* Shinji gah! At least what he did to his feet means he's able to land well enough when he's ready for it. He tries hard to at least keep the monster in the general area that he's already ripped up. If it's trying to stomp him, then fine! He won't be able to get him, right? Can all he do is stomp?
* Daibakaze ... it's now trying to bite attack you
* Daibakaze and failing that, use its horn to smash you
* Shinji oh that is not good. And given it's surprising speed, it's very hard to not only dodge it, but also keep steady in the wind. He wonders. Would using fire work? Sometimes, wind only serves to fan the flames, so...
* Daibakaze hard to say, it is a giant weasel made of wind
* Shinji it won't hurt to try. He would have enough control over the fire to stop it if it gets to anywhere else. He takes out a card-- Laval Forest Sprite, to note-- and taps his extended baton with it, causing it to spark with flames. It won't blow out, at least, even in this wind. Maybe if he can get up onto the rock, he can have a good point in which to snipe it with fire. He tries this.
* Daibakaze it tries follow you onto that rock. I think you realize what a headache that likely is.
* Shinji well at least on one hand, it means it's not DRAGGING the rock out, but on the other hand, yes. But hey. He tries to take the chance to hit the monster in the face with a fireball from the baton. On a level of 1 to 10, how angry does this make the beast.

* Shinji oh, that's specific.
* Daibakaze it roars rather fiercely and tries to swing a foot at you, the harness kinda strangling it
* Shinji well on one hand, it means the monster is being restrained by that, on the other hand, it was hard to get away from a foot being swung at me, and I can't get up a barrier or anything. Poor Gem-Turtle's getting worn out. So, he gets batted off of the rock. Let's just say it's not a good landing for him.
* Daibakaze the creature is trying to figure out how to climb a rock with a harness. This is some what of a rather abstract problem and otherwise would be a fascinating cat video.
* Shinji uggh, well, mission accomplished, there. He manages to drag himself up to a sitting position on the ground, looking up at the giant beast as the wind continues to whip around. He doesn't really know how long he can actually last, making sure the creature stays distracted, like this.
* Daibakaze ... well it stays distracted for a few good minutes... ... though it sounds like someone's shouting from on top of it??
* Shinji ... someone? He looks up, cleaning his glasses and attempting to see if anyone is there.
* Daibakaze ... it looks like a kid or teenager. A girl? Maybe? In a dress?
* Daibakaze stomping on the beast's head.
* Shinji who in the world...? He can't get up that high. Not in this wind.
* Shinji but she's likely the one who's controlling the monster, if she's managing to stay up there without problem, right...?
* Daibakaze that's a good suggestion.
* Daibakaze she seems to kick it in its nose horn as it untangles itself and starts plodding.
* Shinji aah! Gets up, trying to get the beast's attention again.
* Daibakaze it seems to be whimpering as whoever that girl is, they're giving it hell.
* Daibakaze and just following orders now.
* Shinji ... I almost feel sorry for the big monster, but now it's ignoring him. Which means it'll keep going and destroy everything else, at this rate... and he doesn't know how long it'll take Ruka to come back, now...
* Shinji Gem-Turtle can only protect. Electricity won't work unless if he can get close, fire only angers it. Water won't work, light won't work, so...
* Daibakaze and it's dragging the rock to where you and Ruka were talking... what is it up to...
* Shinji whatever it is, it's not good. He tries to get back up onto the rock. Hoping to potentially send a fireball at the girl on top of the beast. She can't be normal if she's handling the wind.
* Daibakaze you get her right in the head. She falls to the ground on the opposite side.
* Shinji !? That worked?! He's surprised, as he gets down to go see what's there.
* Daibakaze what you're going to find the girl?
* Shinji well, I should at least try!
* Shinji unless if the monster smacks him down
* Daibakaze no, it got quite a bitching from her so it's going to follow orders
* Shinji on one hand, that means I survive. On the other hand, that means I still need to find a way to stop the monster before it goes too far

* Shinji still, any girl?
* Re-Cover yes, being fretted over by a book with limbs. The girl seems to be a child-teenager in a nice dress with green-black hair with swirling eyes.

<Re-Cover> I give you a power boost, and even that is not enough to make you strong? I suppose I may have to just rework your entire essence to make you fit for service under the Queen.

* Re-Cover it grabs the fireball out of midair and places it under it's foot and snuffs it out.

<Shinji> Fair enough. If you'll excuse me then, I'm going to go take help care of the problem you're apparently related to.
* Shinji goes to try to get the Youkai's attention again, now that there's no one barking orders at it. Unless if the book stops him.
* Re-Cover ... you're a mere human so no, it's going to take Porcelain Curse Failure and float back to the top of the weasel.
* Daibakaze which has made some pretty impressive progress
* Shinji gghh, tries to fireball the youkai in the face again. That angered it before, right?
* Daibakaze yes. ... it seems annoyed, its eyes glowing red as its head turns to you.
* Re-Cover the book seems to be dancing and shouting and telling it to go back to work this instant.
* Shinji blasts again, even if this is a bigger risk
* Daibakaze it roars this time and the harness snaps as it charges at you.

* Shinji oh no. He doesn't have enough time to really move out of the way. But he does manage to get back up the Gem-Turtle barrier, just in time to be. charged right into. even with a barrier this is not pleasant, combined with being thrown back by the backlash.
* Daibakaze yes, you're getting bounced more than a character in Zexal.
* Daibakaze it doesn't relent and stomps towards you arrogantly and lifts its foot, and tries to crush you.
* Shinji he can't get back up, even if he wanted to, so he gets stomped. Ow. That... that's not pleasant. You probably think you crushed him good, didn't you.
* Daibakaze yes, I do.
* Shinji strange. you feel an odd... The only way to put it as is a "pulse", underfoot, Mr. Youkai.
* @Ruka , meanwhile, is running back into the park along with Juudai
* Daibakaze grind grinds confused
* Shinji that seems to be making the pulsing worse. As soon as Ruka and Juudai both get within sight range of seeing the monster grinding it's foot into the ground, something suddenly blasts out from under it, likely severely disturbing both the monster and the talking book.
* @Ruka and Juudai stop running when they see that, wondering what the hell is going on
* Re-Cover I shall exit STAGE LEFT
* Shinji far as anyone can see, it seems to be a strange... glowing black being, their features shadowed, eyes glowing golden. Levitating on their own wind in mid-air. It extends a hand as lines along their arm glow a golden blue, cackling with electricity. As they proceed to ignore the gusting as though it were nothing to them, flying in to do some direct electrocution of the Youkai.
<Juudai> ...what the hell is that!?
<@Ruka> I don't know... *She glances around the area quickly.* ...I can't see Shinji anywhere either!
* Daibakaze the beast howls in a horrifying tone, that sounds like death and sorrow.
* Shinji while sorrowful, once the being feels that the youkai is incapacitated enough, they stop electrocuting, flying back. ... whatever this being is, it almost seems unreal, to see them.
* Daibakaze the beast whines, howling.
* Daibakaze and then grits its teeth with an angry, furious growl.
* Shinji the being stares at the Youkai, with the type of pressure that says that it views the beast as being weaker and lower than him. But as soon as it's clear that the creature can't move, they finally get down to ground level.
* @Ruka and Juudai cautiously approach the being. Not sure if it is a friend or foe.
* Daibakaze the beast roars and pounces at the being, in one last furious desperation, of anger.
* Shinji the lines around their head glow an orange hue, as a barrier forms around them, effortlessly repelling the monster's last-ditch pouncing.
* Shinji it's a little surreal seeing this small being repel the huge creature, likely throwing them back onto their back
* Daibakaze it's knocked back, on its side, groaning and whining.
* Shinji side works too
* @Ruka and Juudai realize whoever or whatever that thing was, it was powerful.
* Daibakaze the beast is pitifully struggling to right itself, but, it has no strength
* Shinji ... the being almost seems to consider electrocuting the beast again. Maybe distract them before they're too cruel, guys.
* @Ruka and Juudai approach the being
<Juudai> That was some impressive stuff. Probably best to stop it there though.
* @Ruka looks at the being
<@Ruka> Who... are you exactly...? Do you know what happened with the boy that was here?
* Shinji they look at Juudai, the electricity fading from their hand. they tilt their head slightly, and seem to speak. But it's... An unintelligible language, quick toned. ... they look really familiar though, Ruka.
* @Ruka continues looking at them, then casually glancing around, then looking at them again. The being sure does look familiar... and Shinji is nowhere to be seen... could it be...?
<@Ruka> ...Shinji... is... is that you...?
* Juudai 's eyes widen a bit in surprise when she asks that
* Shinji the more you look at the being, the more you realize that it must be. of course, you get more of a confirmation when the being collapses, the shadows disappearing. and it definitely is Shinji. ... only uh. Maybe it should've been better off for him if whatever was going on kept going, because he looks like he's in excessively bad shape. Like something big and heavy just crushed him-- oh dear.
* Shinji meanwhile a card floats down next to him, likely catching Juudai's eye.

* Daibakaze the beast groans, and explodes into sparkles, back into the Pendulum Vortex, which flickers and fades.
* Juudai notices the card that lands next to him and kneels down to take a look at it.
* Shinji well. on one hand, Juudai. It's definitely not a Number. On the other hand, it seems to be a five-headed dragonic demon, surrounded by a library, and it's level is... 12? Wait, it's a Divine attribute?!
<Juudai> Divine attribute....!?
<@Ruka> Divine...? There's a library in the picture too...!
* Shinji yes. And it seems to have the same... Shadowy, yet glowing features as he had before. It's name is... "Laplace, the Avatar of Akashia"
* Shinji this certainly explains a couple things
* Shinji this must've been what Shinji was gonna show you before the Youkai showed up, Ruka.
* @Ruka 's eyes widen as she comes to that realization
* @Ruka decides that for now she won't say much to Juudai as she isn't sure if Shinji would want her to or not.
