- A Guide to New Years (DrenDran)'s Farming Server
- by Mr Queeba
- NOTE: CROP GROWTH TIMES MAY BE INACCURATE - PLEASE GIVE ACTUAL GROWTH TIMES
- ------------------------------
- ===Getting Started===
- Welcome to DrenDran's Farming server! Your goal in this server is to farm to gain money, which you can then use towards purchasing stuff.
- For help with commands, type /help.
- When you start playing, you will get 12 free planting soil and some potatoes to plant.
- First of all, make sure you have tools in your inventory. If you don't, suicide with CTRL+K. You will respawn at your lot.
- Next, place down your free planting soil. (You can find the farming blocks under Special > Blocktopia).
- Now, you will want to till your soil so you get the most crops that you can. Take out the "Till Soil" tool (looks like a shovel) and keep hitting your soil until it says that it is as fertile as it can get. Repeat until all of your soil is fertile.
- After that, get out your "Plant Crops" tool (looks like a watering can), and make sure it is set to plant potatoes. Click on the soil and your potatoes will plant.
- Congratulations, you have planted your first crops! Now on to the hard part: maintenance.
- Your plants will need water to survive, and will require no weeds on them and a good temperature to grow optimally.
- You can only change the temperature of your crops once you purchase a heater, but we'll talk more about that later.
- Weeds look like grass on your crops and they can slow down and even prevent your crops from growing. If you see a crop with weeds, keep clicking it until the weeds are gone. You can purchase a Weed Killer to automate this, but we'll talk about it later.
- To water your crops, use the "Water Crops" tool (which also looks like a watering can) and water each crop until the soil below the crop is as dark as possible.
- Keep watering and weeding until your crops are fully grown (you can check your crop's status by clicking on it). Be careful, most crops will die if you leave them to grow too long!
- Once they are fully grown, get the "Harvest Crops" tool (looks like a shear) and harvest your crops. Depending on how well the soil was before you planted, etc you may get a different amount of potatoes.
- Once you have them, feel free to replant them and sell your surplus or sell all of your potatoes and buy different crops to plant!
