B orn in 2192. The city didn't change much even as technology skyrocketed. Buildings are still tall, newspapers, albeit digital, are still popular. And everyone still takes the cab. And yes, mama's pasta is still the best. Nic was a rascal, at school he managed to climb every climbable thing he could find. He got into fights. His grades weren't particularly good. Though they displayed a highly intelligent, and even bored, charming boy. Hungry for more. Nicasio's father was never in his life. His mother said he was a soldier fighting abroad. But Nicasio knew better. His father wasn't coming home. He was a superspy! Well, that was a kid's fantasy anyways. His father was a scumbag, living halfway across the city. He used his natural gifts to associate with local mobs. Drink his life away. It would break little Nic's heart to find out.[/sub][/i]

[color=gray][i][sub]Those who forget history »[/sub][/i][/color][/center][hr][i][sub]When Nicasio turned sixteen his grandfather, Marco picked him up from school. Marco's been in his life on and off. His grandfather lived on the Canadian border. So he didn't come by all too often. It was certainly a nice surprise. What wasn't a nice surprise however, was that they weren't headed home. "Papa, why aren't we going home?" Nicasio's home wasn't there to come home to anymore. A poorly timed firebomb, intended for him, ancestral son of Carlo Lo Guercio. His mother and little sister did not survive. "Nicasio, we need to talk."

Marco told Nicasio of his history. His ancestry in Italy. Of nobles, and knights, assassins and templars. The stories were heroic. Grandpa always told the best stories. Only now they weren't just stories. "Nic. These stories I've told since you were little. They weren't just stories." Marco says. "You are, like me, bloodline of Carlo Lo Guercio. The assassin I've told you stories of." Marco says. "And you're going to play a part in this world. In it's history. You're going to be put in a position where you can make a difference. And I will show you how."

Marco told Nic about Carlo. About his friendship with Leon. (Since more wasn't known.) About his friendship with Ezio. About the assassins. His achievements. That he was blinded during his lifetime. About his legacy, his books. The family treasury that's lasted ever since.[/sub][/i]

[color=gray][i][sub]Are doomed to repeat it »[/sub][/i][/color][/center][hr][i][sub]In the years that followed Marco trained Nic in secret. Rarely did they get the chance to use an Animus. So he had to be taught the good old fashioned way. Marco was a good teacher. And Nicasio was a natural. The duties, skillset and weapons of an assassin came natural to him. His father's affinity for firearms got passed down as well. Nicasio took a liking to a silenced USP, as well as a custom made long barrel sniper rifle that he could store away in minimal space. In addition to more traditional weapons like the wrist-blade. Marco avoided putting Nic in actual confrontations. Mainly because he was still family. And the old man worried. But as Nic grew older he got more confident. Other assassins he met during his lifetime brought him along on missions. So he got at least some 'real world experience.' The highlight of Nic's career was when he carried out his first solo assassination. The man that firebombed his mother. Sebastian. Part Templar, part mobster.

Unfortunately, this put Nic on his Father's radar.[/sub][/i]

After several brief confrontations with his father, he too stopped showing. Many assassins went into hiding. And Marco... Marco was getting old. "Nicasio." He was one of the only people left in the world that knew Nic's full name. "There's a man... In Abstergo city." He says. As he pulls a file from his desk. "I know your training isn't complete yet. And I'm sending you into the lion's den." He says. While pushing the folder against Nic's stomach. "But you need to go there. And you need to find him. When you find him, you will know what to do. You've known each-other for a long time." It was so cryptic. Known each-other for a long time? What the hell does he mean by that!?

Regardless, Nic was on his way. Still young, still inexperienced. The only thing on his side is the element of surprise. "Abstergo Industries, you're speaking with Jane. Yes, I'm reading your job application right now. You seem like a suitable candidate mister Guerta." Obviously he didn't give his real name! "We would love to meet you for a job interview." Well, so much for the easy part.[/sub][/i]

[collapse= ]Leon was the man Nicasio was to seek out. Leon, a clone of his ancestor's friend. His Ancestor's lover. You know those clichés? Where people are rumored to meet each-other again and again. In different lives? Well, it's not a cliché. Destiny is bringing Nic and Leon together again.
