- I know he said monster, but this is what played through my mind.
- I'm in an immense dark field, full of bright stars in the distance. A lone destroyer class gunship approaches. On the side "Sleep" is the ships name. It spots it's target, another destroyer class "CWz". All guns take aim and fire on the target, but nothing happens. The target's shields are to strong. Sleep fires another volley, another failed attempt. CWz has turned it's guns on the aggressor, takes aim, and fires it's own round of explosives. The shields are strong on Sleep as well, but not as strong. The ship is rocked by the blast force as the shields stutter once then remain in tact. Another round from Sleep is fired, this time doing some actual damage, the shields flicker and fail for a moment before returning. CWz fires another round, and Sleep takes a hard hit on the nose. The shields completely fail as Sleep prepares, then fires with all of their might. CWz takes a direct hit, but the shields hold enough to prevent any major damage. Sleep engages the ion drives and begins evasive maneuvers, a difficult task in a ship this size, but it's the only way they'll survive the next volley from CWz. The battle rages on and on for hours, both ships giving and receiving blows from the other, until finally, around 3:00am both ships realize the stalemate they are in and open truce negotiations. The battle finally ends when they agree to exist peacefully, without fighting for the other's submission. Though they both know, that tomorrow night will be a different story. Tomorrow night, there may not be a truce.
