  1. === Chain of Pyromancy (3 weight) ===
  2.
  3. A loop of heavy golden chain, studded with rubies and untarnished in spite of age.
  4. While worn about the body like a sash, it grants the following powers:
  5.
  6. 1. Once per day, when defying danger in a situation primarily related to fire,
  7. or when casting any arcane or divine fire-based spell, you may roll twice and
  8. take the better result.
  9.
  10. 2. If you do not already have them, gain the Wizard's Cast a Spell and Prepare
  11. Spells moves as if you were a level 0 Wizard; unless you have the Cleric's
  12. Prepare Spells move, in which case gain the Wizard's Cast a Spell move, and
  13. apply your existing Prepare Spells move to any spells gained from this item.
  14.
  15. 3. In any case, you may prepare and cast (using the Wizard's Cast a Spell) the
  16. following spells:
  17.
  18. -- Light Cantrip --
  19. The chain becomes warm and its gems glow with a flickering orange light,
  20. about as bright as a torch, until you rest, dismiss the spell or remove the
  21. chain.
  22.
  23. -- Ignite Weapon (Level 1, Enchantment) --
  24. Touch a mêlée weapon, causing it to burst into magical flames that grant the
  25. wielder +1 damage and the "fire" damage type when striking a foe with it.
  26.
  27. -- Immolation (Level 1, Evocation) --
  28. Surround your body with a magical fire that burns everything except yourself
  29. and your possessions: any foe attacking you in mêlée suffers 1 fire damage
  30. regardless of the outcome.
  31.
  32. -- Wildfire (Level 2, Enchantment) --
  33. Cause a non-magical fire you can see within "far" range to go out of control,
  34. spreading to any possible nearby sources of fuel.
  35.
  36. 4. Gain a version of the Wizard's Spell Defense move that protects any creature,
  37. except yourself, within near range. Subtract damage equal to either the level
  38. of an ongoing fire-based spell, or to 2d4 of your own hit points.
