  4. I wanted to contact you to let you know a couple of things from the wishlist episode are, in fact, a reality. (I know I'm behind the times, but I didn't see this in the feedback thread and I'm still catching up on podcasts from Christmas break.)

  6. 1. OpenMediaVault has a plugin for ZFS on Linux, and it uses DKMS. You need to go into the OMV-Extras.org section and enable the ZFS repos.

  8. 2. The OpenWRT project has firmware now for most of the Ubiquiti APs, and they just added Cisco Meraki MR12s and MR16s. This doesn't give you an open-source wireless cloud controller, but there's a cloud-based controller setup called Cucumber Tony that will allow you to control a number of OpenWRT devices through their setup. They are NOT open-source as far as I can tell, but their firmware is based on OpenWRT and they are at least an option to use cloud controller functionality across multiple hardware vendors.

  10. Anyway, just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that at least one wish came true a couple of years ago, and with OpenWRT on Ubiquiti and Meraki gear, maybe another one will come true a lot sooner than you might think. Thanks for the great shows!
