- >”GET OFF!” Screams a frantic Rainbow Dash.
- “NO!” You holler back.
- >Holding her tight to your chest, the small cyan mare kicks and struggles against you.
- >Hooves frantically pushing against your sturdy hold.
- > You have were you want her, and there is nothing she can do to stop you.
- >”Come on, Anon!” She squeaks out, her voice cracking in that adorable way it does.
- “No.” Your answer is firm, resolute.
- > Eventually she stops fighting, legs stop kicking, wings fall limp against her side.
- >She mumbles something about ‘human hooves’ and ‘it not being fair’.
- >Seconds tick on by as you hold her in your arms.
- >Neither of you moving.
- >”Fine...,” grumbles the defeated mare, “we…w-we can cuddle.”
- >And with that you bury your face in her soft mane, hand slowly rubbing at her slim, smooth stomach, fingers running through her fur.
- >”Stupid Anon…” She mutters quietly.
- > A shy but happy smile rises upon her face, followed by a soft sigh and a rosy blush.
- >Meanwhile.
- >”Hey Twilight. Ya reckon we should tell ‘em that they’re all still in public?” Questions a smirking Applejack.
- > Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Fluttershy all giggle happily before turning towards their friend and leader.
- >”No, let them be,” Says Twilight, a gentle smile crosses her face, “I think they already know.”
- ----------
- >”Ooo! Another round house to the face!”
- > “Anon doesn’t look like he’s in a good position, Mic.”
- > “No he does not, Gale.”
- > The crowd shouts and hollers at the two, sweat and swears fly everywhere.
- > “Rainbow Dash is on a rampage! Do you think he’s going to survive this?” Says an enthusiastic announcer, voice peppy and clear.
- > “It’s not looking good.” Says the other, a foreboding tone present in her words.
- > “AAAAAAARRRRRHHHHHHHH!!!” Rainbow dash screams with the fury of ten thousand Amazonian warriors!
- > On the ground is Anon, tears streaming from his eyes, bruises cover his face, torn pieces of clothe hang from his body.
- > The gathering of ponies chant as the two “battle”.
- > “FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!” Shout the mares.
- > There are only mares here.
- > No stallions, only mares.
- > “Kick his flank,” screams one. “Make him eat dirt,” yells the other.
- > Dash pounds into him like he was a mound of dough, and by this point he might as well have been.
- > A few moments later, the one-sided slaughter stops and the jeers and fuming yells die down.
- > All that remains is a battered and bruised Anon.
- > A shell of his former “glory”.
- > The announcers stare in awe.
- > “Mic, what was it he did again?” Asks a trembling Gale.
- > There is a short pause.
- > “He asked Rainbow Dash why all the mares flanks look bigger in the winter…” Whispers Mic.
- > Another pause.
- > “He deserved it.”
- > The two young foals pack up their make-shift announcer’s booth and hurriedly trot away.
- > Anon is left to question why he didn’t just start with “Rainbow Dash, you look cute and fit”.
- ----------
- >*Knock knock*
- > …
- > *Knock knock*
- > …nmmnn
- > *Knock knock BANG!*
- > HOLY CELESTIA ASS ON A STICK!
- > You jump out of bed at the sound of thunder striking your front door.
- > As you make your way down the hall, the sound of hoof against wood only increases in volume.
- “When I get my hands on whoever is at my door..!”
- > Pleasing thoughts of strangulation and torture flit through your groggy mind.
- > Passing by the clock on your wall, you see that it’s three in the morning.
- “Urrrrggghh…” You moan.
- > You swing open the door harshly and glare down at the devil that decided to ruin your perfectly perfect slumber.
- > You don’t even get to let out a simple swear, having been tackled hugged by a shaky, cold, cyan mare.
- “Rainbow?” Your voice is uneasy, disbelieving.
- > You hear a sniffle and a muffled ‘yes’.
- > She takes a more than a short moment to compose herself, finding you baggy pajama shirt comforting.
- > Poking her head out from your chest, she gives you a weak smile and pulls herself away.
- > “H-hey Anon,” she says in an uncharacteristically timid voice.
- “You okay Dash?” You say in that same voice.
- > “Y-yeah… I just had a really bad nightmare and I didn’t want to be alone.” Quieter and quieter she gets as she speaks.
- > You poke your head out of the door and look up.
- > There you spot her house, floating right above yours.
- > Scratching your head in silent submission, you move out of the way and motion for her to come into your home.
- > “Thanks Anon but I better get – “you cut her off.
- “You can spend the night, Dash.” Your words are nonchalant and smooth.
- > You shut the door before she can answer back, watching her you can see that she would have even tried to.
- > She floats beside you, in silence.
- “You can take the couch. I’m heading back to bed.” You let out a long yawn and walk back down the hall.
- > Rainbow Dash looks uneasily at the sofa – pillows strewn all over the place, cold leather stares back at her uninvitingly – and she calls out.
- > “Anon!”
- > You turn back.
- > She just stares at you, wide eyed and abashed, not knowing what to say nor why she wasn’t speaking.
- “Come on,” You nod over to your bedroom. “The bed’s still warm.”
- > She flutters with a barely contained happiness and relief.
- > Flying next to you, the two of you make your way into the cosy confines of your room.
- > “Thanks Anon.” She whispers as she climbs under the sheets, still warm from your body heat.
- “No problem Dash.” You reply.
- > She lays her head against the pillow, softly drifting off to sleep.
- > You follow suit, your bed suddenly feeling that much more comfortable and inviting.
- ---------
- > “Thanks Anon…”
- > Rainbows’ voice is soft and timid, something that sounds strange on her, but not totally unwelcome.
- > She smiles up at you – a comforting, velvety smile.
- > A grin full of happiness and gratitude.
- > Your heart races and flutters at the sight.
- > The distant hum of a record player.
- > The heavy sounds of a dying party.
- > The “goodbyes” and “good nights” of your dwindling party guests.
- > All sounds of a nights past.
- > Dash looks past you and towards the snack table.
- > There you see a few fillies sneaking away the last of the cupcakes.
- > They catch the two of you staring and freeze.
- > Rainbow Dash turns away, feigning ignorance.
- > The fillies breathe a sigh of relief, bolting out with their “stolen goods”.
- > You watch her stare at the banners hanging from the wall.
- > “HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAINBOW DASH!” They say.
- > She smiles at the words.
- > The banners were loud and clumsy – the type of clumsy that is both endearing and comical, one that warms your heart while giving you a good giggle.
- > It sort of reminds you of Dash.
- > Warm with a good laugh.
- > Pretty loud too.
- > You let out a small chuckle.
- > You’re glad you had the chance to do this for her.
- > Pinkie getting sick.
- > Planning a last minute party.
- > Getting things ready.
- > Surprising her.
- > Her smile.
- > Her laugh.
- > It was well worth it.
- > You watch the silent, content Rainbow Dash.
- > The one with a soft smile and flushed face.
- > Looking around, you take a moment to see all you have worked for.
- > The balloons and streamers, the cake and punch, the music, the discarded wrapping paper, the happy smiles of yours and her friends.
- > *Peck*
- > Her lips were soft and faint, if it wasn’t from the blush on her cheeks you wouldn’t have guessed what had just happened, but seeing her, you know.
- > A hand goes up to the marked spot, gingerly stroking at the subtle wetness.
- > “Thanks Anon.” She says once more.
- > You smile.
- “I hope it was a birthday that you’ll never forget.” Your words were giddy, yet somehow calm at the same time.
- > She smiles once more and turns to the three munching fillies.
- > “Yeah,” she says softly, “yeah… it was.”
- ----------
- > A streak of color against a bright blue canvas.
- > Her swift movements capture the eye, holding all captive.
- > Daring and free, she does as she does.
- > No purpose, only pursuit.
- > Loyal to herself, to her friends and the sky.
- > Spirited and free, like a leaf dancing in the wind.
- > Graceful and brash.
- > That’s Rainbow Dash
- > “Anon…”
- “Yeah Rainbow?”
- > “That was lame.”
- “… Yeah Rainbow.”
- ----------
- > “You can do it Anon!”
- > “You just have to believe in yourself!”
- > Rainbow Dash shouts words of encouragement out by the side.
- > A multitude of colors flash before your eyes making you dizzy and weak.
- > Spinning.
- > The entire world is spinning.
- > “ANON! ANON! ANON!” Dash chants your name, her voice is determined, she knows you can do this, she believes it.
- > You take in a deep breath and try once more.
- “Urrrrrgghhhhh!” A hefty breath of air makes its way into your lungs, giving your aching muscles a small burst of power.
- > You lift yourself up.
- > The weight is too much for you.
- > Your arms are numb, the tiny bit of strength that they have is being sapped away.
- > You weren’t made for this, not a single part of your body was made for this.
- > “ANON! ANON! ANON!” She chants in an almost sing-song voice.
- > You shut your eyes tight, trying your best to block out the world.
- > You can do this!
- > YOU can do this!
- > Grunting and moaning as you shift your weight, you feel yourself rise up.
- “Nnnnn!” You let out a muffled groan.
- > IT HURTS!
- > SWEET HOLY LUNA! IT HURTS!
- > You feel yourself waver, the drive you had just moments ago vanishes into thin air.
- > You can’t do this.
- > “Anon, if you do this then we can do that really weird thing you wanted to do~”
- > YOU CAN DO THIS!
- > You put all of your strength, your hope, your dreams, your destiny into your legs and you push.
- > You rise, higher and higher, until…
- > YOU’VE DONE IT!
- > YOU’VE GOTTEN OUT OF BED!
- > Rainbow Dash cheers wildly, wings fluttering in excitement, hooves moving around in a chaotic celebratory spasm.
- > “You did it Anon!” She says, with a joyful, proud tone.
- > And then you collapse back onto your sheets.
- > “…”
- > Rainbow floats forward, onto your bedside and slaps a sticker on your head.
- > ‘Second place’ it reads.
- > “We’ll try again in a few hours”
- > She curls up under the sheets with you, giggling at her lazy, lazy Anon.
