Number Cruncher is an accountant Crystal Pony living in the Nameless City. He is a skinny, shrimpy pony who never meant anyone any trouble and tried to avoid conflict when he could, just staying home watching action movies and his Chinese Cartoons, wishing he could change the world in any way that matters. One day on his way to work, when getting beaten up for spare change by some of the city's many thugs a blazing Sun appeared on his forehead, and he began to effortlessly beat the gangsters to a pulp. He discovered then that he was a Solar, a reincarnation of a powerful warrior from early Equestria, before the modern dark and dreary age.

Using his newfound magical abilities of strength and persuasion, and drawing on a vast wealth of knowledge gained from many half-forgotten lifetimes, the shrimpy Number Cruncher has begun taking jobs and business from various shady types, determined to bring the world into a better age if it kills him.
