  1. "Hmm hmmmmm doo doo... hmm hmmmmm doo doo... sometimes I want to throw it all away..." a young, feminine voice cheerily sang, accompanying the slightly tinny music that filtered through a pair of small speakers. An emerald colored hand tapped along to the beat, the lithe fingers drumming softly on a simple wood desk. Pink eyes darted side to side, quickly reading the blue posts displayed on a laptop screen as they scrolled upwards. Teal lips twisted into a small frown, the green fingers ceasing their rhythmic tapping, soon tapping once again with purpose.
  2.
  3. "Jacinta..." a male voice sounded out, from somewhere else in the house, somewhat muffled. The alraune girl let out a sigh.
  4.
  5. "What, Dad?" Jacinta yelled out, leaning back on her chair and looking out her open door.
  6.
  7. "Dinner's ready! It's going to get cold if you don't get your butt out here!" her father yelled. The alraune smiled, and paused the music player on her computer.
  8.
  9. "Alright, I'll be out inna minute!" she replied, and paused to look at the pending reply on her laptop. After a few seconds, she nodded in approval, and clicked the submit button for her message.
  10.
  11. ">tfw there's not more plant girl art ;_;"
  12.
  13. Satisfied, Jacinta stood up from behind her desk and stretched out, her hands reaching high above her, while her green toes wiggled into the soft soil floor of her bedroom. She continued to stretch for a few seconds, leaning backwards until a muffled pop rang out, followed by a content sigh from the alraune. She then twisted from left to right, a few more pops emanating from her back. A soft yawn escaped from her lips as she straightened out, her green right hand fumbling around in the pocket of her khaki short-shorts for a few moments, soon pulling back out with an elastic hair band wrapped around her fingers. The plant girl ran her fingers through her violet hair, and wound the binder around the locks behind her head, forming a messy but simple ponytail. She then pulled at her maroon shirt, which had shrunk in the wash and clung tightly to her generous chest, trying in vain to cover her exposed midriff, only to give up with a sigh seconds later.
  14.
  15. "Whatever, I'll just have to deal with it." she muttered out, and looked over shoulder at the tall vanity mirror hung up on her wall. She turned and walked over to it, spinning slowly as she looked herself over in the mirror. "I don't look too bad, though." she said with a smirk.
  16.
  17. "Jacinta!" her father yelled out again. The alraune rolled her eyes.
  18.
  19. "Yeah, just a sec!" she yelled back, and walked out of her room, stopping to wipe her soil covered feet on the welcome mat in front of her door. She continued on down the hallway, through their sizable living room and into the modest dining room. Her parents were already seated at the table, her father, a large bearded bear of a man, was discussing various plans for the week while cutting at a steak. Her mother, a tall and curvaceous blonde alraune, was tapping away at a tablet computer resting on the table, filling in a schedule on its digital planner app.
  20.
  21. "-nd that werewolf family, the Grisham's, are supposed to arrive on the eleventh." Jacinta heard her father say, as she sat down at her usual spot at the table, a dinner plate filled with steak and mixed vegetables already placed there. Her mother tapped her green fingers across the tablet a few more times, and then slowly dragged her finger down the edge of the screen.
  22.
  23. "The Grisham family, The Anders family, The Kowalski family, Julia Smith, and Pastora Rivera. That's everyone, right?" the older Alraune asked, looking up from the tablet at her husband. Jacinta stayed quiet, idly chewing on a stalk of asparagus while her parents talked business.
  24.
  25. "Unless we get an emergency call from another halfway house, that should be all of them." her father answered with a sigh. "If the rumor holds true, this might be the busiest our home has ever been, Luzia." he added, causing the older alraune to laugh.
  26.
  27. "We'll get by, Roger, we always do. At least we have Jacinta and Christine to help." Luzia replied, and turned towards her daughter. "No slacking off now, we need to be good hosts." she added with a warm smile. Jacinta's eyes widened, an excited smile quickly gracing her features.
  28.
  29. "Chrissy's gonna be here?! For how long?" the younger green girl asked in a gleeful tone. It had been far too long since she had spent time with her cousin in person.
  30.
  31. "Two months, at least, longer if that rumor ends up being true." the older alraune answered. Jacinta let out a pleased squeak, as she practically bounced in her seat. She then stopped, and raised an eyebrow.
  32.
  33. "Wait, rumor? What rumor?" she asked. Luzia smirked and rolled her eyes.
  34.
  35. "Now I know we've all heard this one before, but from what your father and I have heard through the grapevine, is that the government is finally going reveal monsters to the public, either this year or next year." the older alraune answered. Jacinta scoffed, and started to cut at her steak.
  36.
  37. "Just like they were going to in 2012, huh?" she asked playfully. "I'll believe it when I see it on live TV." she added, placing a piece of steak in her mouth.
  38.
  39. "As will I, Jaci, but it might be legitimate this time." Luzia replied, before shrugging. "But you know those bureaucrats, they'll keep putting it off until it feels 'Right'." she added, followed by a long sigh.
  40.
  41. "Now now, dear, rumors like that are good for business!" Roger replied, laughing. "And if it is true, we can finally look into owning a real hotel." he continued with a smile. Jacinta shook her head and chuckled, tuning her parents out as they began discussing their life's dream, her own mind wandering as she ate her dinner.
  42.
  43. For many years, Jacinta's parents ran a halfway home, an "Underground Inn" for monsters and their families to stay at during travel. For her father, it was part of the family business, one that has lasted for hundreds of years, if not longer. Their home, a large farmhouse nestled in the rolling hills of the countryside, was part of a secret, elaborate network; one that was designed to aid friendly monsters, as well as hide them from the public. Their home was also considered a government facility, and with that label came many perks. The two most beneficial of which were funding, and security. Those that weren't "in the know" assumed that the land was used to test radioactive materials, with plenty of scary looking signs placed around their property to reinforce the thought.
  44.
  45. It wasn't an easy life for Jacinta, but with how things are in the world, she wouldn't have it any other way. Running a halfway home with her parents allowed her to meet countless monsters and families, a number of which she still kept in contact with online. The young alraune let out a sigh as she thought of her friends. She hoped that, perhaps one day, they could all spend time together as a group, in person. While Jacinta was thankful for them, Skype conference calls with her friends could only do so much.
  46.
  47. "Are you still hungry, Jaci?" Luzia asked, rousing Jacinta from her thoughts.
  48.
  49. "Huh?" she mumbled, blinking a few times, before looking down at her empty plate. "Oh, no, I'm okay." she answered, and stood up from her spot. "Do you want me to help with anything, or can I head back to my room?" she then asked. Her mother waved her hand at her, shooing her off as she smiled.
  50.
  51. "We'll be alright, Jaci. You can go, I wouldn't want to keep you from your friends." her mother answered with a grin. Jacinta nodded, and briskly walked back to her room. Once there, she opened up the mini-fridge next to her desk, pulled out a can of Dr Pepper, and settled down into her desk chair. A few swipes at the touch pad of her laptop woke the computer, and she was once again on 4chan, the monster girl thread she had been watching now had over a hundred new posts. She ignored it for the time being, and switched over to Skype, looking through her contacts list. She smiled as she saw a particular name marked as online, and double clicked it, opening up a chat window. She typed up a quick message, and entered it.
  52.
  53. BrazilianBombshell92: Hey! Why didn't you tell me you were coming over? :D
  54.
  55. Jacinta smiled wider, as her cousin started typing back right away.
  56.
  57. FuriousPlymouth: Aww, I wanted to surprise you! :( Did your mom spill the beans?
  58. BrazilianBombshell92: Yeah, she said you were coming by to help out with the guests. It's gonna be really busy this month -_-
  59. FuriousPlymouth: I know, but we still should have plenty of time to hang out ^_^ I just wish I could bring my bf along so you two could meet, but he's not in the know :/
  60.
  61. The alraune's violet eyebrow rose, and she smirked. She then cracked open her Dr Pepper, took a sip, and began typing once again.
  62.
  63. BrazilianBombshell92: Boyfriend huh? You human girls have all the luck :P and here I am, literally withering away all alone, without a man to call my own ;_;
  64. FuriousPlymouth: Oh shush Jaci, you'll find a guy, I know it! A gorgeous girl like you won't be single forever! :D
  65. BrazilianBombshell92: I know, I'm just giving you shit, Chrissy :V though it'd be easier if we didn't have to hide :/
  66.
  67. Jacinta paused for a few moments, her mother's words about the rumor echoing through her mind. She wondered if Christine knew anything more about it, and figured there would be no harm in asking.
  68.
  69. BrazilianBombshell92: Hey, speaking of that, my mom said there's a rumor going around that the government is finally going to reveal us this year. Know anything about it? o:
  70. FuriousPlymouth: A bit, and I have some theories. What do you want to know? :O
  71. BrazilianBombshell92: Everything, I guess!
  72. FuriousPlymouth: Alright! Well, you've obviously noticed how there's been a lot more positive/pro-monster stuff showing up lately, right? Mostly all that "Monster Girl" stuff.
  73. BrazilianBombshell92: Yeah, some of that stuff is really good. What about it?
  74.
  75. She waited a few moments for a response, watching as the little pencil icon scribbled. When it kept going, Jacinta shrugged, assuming that her cousin was typing a long response, and clicked on her browser again, going back to the monster girl thread. She scrolled through it slowly, the antics of the posters making her smirk.
  76.
  77. "I wonder how you guys would act if you knew the truth." she said, and sipped her soda once again. She wondered just how many others like herself browsed these threads on a regular basis. As far as she knew, it was herself, a couple friends of hers, and that Arachne author who was being far too obvious for her own good. "I hope she doesn't get in trouble, she seems nice." Jacinta muttered, and took another sip. She then grinned, as she noticed that someone responded to her earlier post.
  78.
  79. >tfw when plant girls aren't real ;_;
  80.
  81. The alraune clicked on his post, and tapped her chin, as she thought of a decent response. She then shrugged, and started typing, posting her message a few moments later.
  82.
  83. >Bizzaro /a/
  84. >Plant girl browses the thread
  85. >Argues about ideal husbandu with other MGs
  86. >Complains about lack of human-on-plant girl art
  87. >Just wants something hot to schlick to tonight
  88. >tfw when no husbandu to cuddle and have fun with
  89. >tfw when husbandu's aren't real ;_;
  90.
  91. Jacinta smirked, hoping that her post would start another string of Bizzaro /a/ posts. She wasn't sure who started that particular trend, but she and her friends jumped on it right away, as it was a clever means to talk about themselves without being too obvious. She sipped on her Dr Pepper, as she resumed scrolling through the thread, when her cousin finally replied.
  92.
  93. FuriousPlymouth: Okay, so, I don't think all this "Monster Girl" stuff is just a coincidence. Look at how much has come out in the past couple years! And it's STILL growing and getting more popular. What I think, is that these guys putting out content are in the know, and have been ordered to put this stuff out. Obviously it's not all accurate, but that doesn't really matter in the long run. The idea is to get the public excited and accepting about monsters, right? What better way to do that than through the media. As for why it's mostly japanese stuff, look at it this way. Anime, Manga, and japanese media in general has gotten super popular over the past 20 years, and most people in our generation like it in some way. That's a HUGE audience. Hell, that one manga made it to the top of the NYT Bestsellers list! If they're going to reveal you guys to the world, between now and the next couple years might be the best time to do it, while the MG popularity is riding high.
  94.
  95. Jacinta stared at the response, her eyes widening. She hadn't really thought of it like that, she just figured it was all a coincidence, but it made sense. Maybe they actually will do the reveal this year. She could only hope.
  96.
  97. BrazilianBombshell92: Wow, that... really makes sense o.o
  98. FuriousPlymouth: I kno, rite? :V
  99. BrazilianBombshell92: How'd you think that one up though? It wouldn't have ever crossed my mind
  100. FuriousPlymouth: You're gonna laugh, but it's the same theory they had in that movie Paul o:
  101. BrazilianBombshell92: Was that the one with the guy from the zombie comedy? I haven't seen it yet
  102. FuriousPlymouth: Yep! ^_^ They said that movies and tv shows and comics with aliens were all made to get people used to the idea, and it dawned on me that the same might be going on with monsters :D
  103. BrazilianBombshell92: Huh... so, if that's the case, maybe the government is in contact with aliens, too O:
  104. FuriousPlymouth: I wouldn't doubt it, look how good they are it keeping you guys under wraps, it's kinda scary at times :S
  105.
  106. The alraune leaned back in her chair, looking up to stare out of the skylight in her room. It was a clear, moonless night out, and the bright stars twinkled vividly in the darkness. With her mind on those theories, and the view of the stars, Jacinta suddenly felt very small. She didn't know why, but it made her uneasy. She then leaned forward again, and began to type out a response to Christine.
  107.
  108. BrazilianBombshell92: Hey, would you want to play some street fighter or something? I kinda want to take my mind off all this heavy stuff =w=;;
  109. FuriousPlymouth: Sure ^_^ but after that, could you help me out in Dark Souls? I'm still stuck on The Four Kings :/
  110. BrazilianBombshell92: Yeah, I'm down with that :D I'll be on my PS3 inna minute, gonna check some other stuff online first
  111.
  112. Jacinta let out a sigh, and finished her Dr Pepper, tossing the empty can into the garbage bin by her door. She then clicked back onto 4chan, scanning through the Monster Girl thread once more. She grinned, as she saw that her Bizzaro /a/ post did indeed start a string of similar posts. She then smirked, a blush gracing her features, as she noticed a different, yet still very important response to her Bizzaro post.
  113.
  114. "Damn straight we need more plant girl on guy pics, kinda like this one"
  115.
  116. Attached to the post was a very risque image of an Alraune taking advantage of a man, and making quite the mess while doing so. Jacinta bit her lip, and saved the image. She considered taking care of her needs right then and there for a few moments, before shaking her head.
  117.
  118. "Nah, Chrissy's waiting for me, I'll get off later." she decided out loud. She then marked herself as "Away" on her messaging programs, and stood up. "I may as well get ready for bed, though." she muttered to herself, and walked over to her door, shutting it. She then began to strip, tossing her clothing into the small hamper next to her desk. Once she was completely nude, she stepped over to her mini-fridge, grabbed another can of soda from within it, and stepped over to the massive, purple flower in the corner of her room, which served as her bed. She sat down on one of the large petals, and eased herself into the middle, the nectar pooling in it enveloping her hips and midriff. The alraune let out a content sigh, and set her soda can on her bedside table. She then grabbed her TV remote, and PS3 controller, turning on both devices that sat across from her. She set the TV remote back down, and picked up a small headset, fumbling with it as she hooked it around her ear. Minutes later, she was online, and in her cousin's game lobby.
  119.
  120. "Took you long enough, Jaci. Did you get all naked for your flower or something?" Christine asked teasingly, her voice coming in clear through Jacinta's headset. The alraune giggled in response.
  121.
  122. "Yep, it's the comfiest seat in my room for gaming, you know that!" she replied, as she adjusted the petals of her flower, allowing her to lean back with her feet up.
  123.
  124. "You keep saying that, yet I haven't even tried it!" Christine replied, her voice sounding like she was faking a pout.
  125.
  126. "Well, when you head over, I might let you give it a shot." Jacinta said, and smirked. "But only if you win more matches than me, deal?" she added.
  127.
  128. "Deal, and I'm holding you on that!" Christine said, as she started the first match. The alraune giggled once more. Tonight was definitely going to be a fun night.
