  5. [2011-01-10 16::19:05] Doink: It's been a few days since the newest Avatar disrupted everyone's New Year. It hangs in the sky over Arkham like a second Sun, casting a constant eerie glow over the town night and day. Although it has yet to make any move, its presence has become unbearably oppressive to most of the citizens of Arkham.

  7. [2011-01-10 16::20:30] Doink: Despite this, life must continue as normal. School has started up again, today, although most of the students (and teachers) lack the motivation to learn.
  8. [2011-01-10 16::23:08] Doink: Classes have ended, finally. Most students have left, already, leaving club attendance at record low. Which is probably why the library is deserted, despite this being a day for book club.
  9. [2011-01-10 16::24:11] John_Kilanger: is looking through the bookshelves, more to just kill time than to look for anything interesting.
  10. [2011-01-10 16::27:25] Doink: The shelves are the same that they ever are, a curious mixture of new books and musty old tomes left over from the days when Miskatonic was a university rather than a private high school.
  11. [2011-01-10 16::29:06] Doink: As you search, you can hear the sound of... speech, it seems, coming from somewhere behind a corner in the shelves.
  12. [2011-01-10 16::31:23] John_Kilanger: begins to move closer to the noise, curious as to who else could be in the room besides him.
  13. [2011-01-10 16::33:36] Doink: The voices become more clear as you approach. They seem to be coming from a back corner of the room.
  14. [2011-01-10 16::34:13] Doink: "Th-thank you," a quiet, female voice says.
  15. [2011-01-10 16::35:40] Doink: "No need to thank me," says the other: male, but high-pitched. "You will be able to repay me in time."
  16. [2011-01-10 16::41:34] John_Kilanger: tries to sneak up a little closer, so he can see who the voices could be. However, his foot accidentally catches onto a corner of a bookshelf, and he trips and falls down, knocking a few books off of the shelves in the process.
  17. [2011-01-10 16::43:26] Doink: "Hm. I suppose we are done here, then. Best go look after your friend back there," the male voice says.
  18. [2011-01-10 16::51:04] Doink: There seems to be some sort of alcove, here, nestled into the wall behind some rows of shelves. You can't see back into it from here.

  20. [2011-01-10 16::59:32] John_Kilanger: begins to pick himself up, putting his fallen sunglasses back on before picking up the books.
  21. [2011-01-10 17::01:55] Sara_White: A head pokes around the corner of the alcove. "J-John?"
  22. [2011-01-10 17::03:53] John_Kilanger: "Yes?" John turns to the voice while he tries to put the books back on the shelf.
  23. [2011-01-10 17::04:24] Sara_White: Rachel Fisher steps awkwardly around the corner. "Wh-what are you doing here?"
  24. [2011-01-10 17::06:34] John_Kilanger: "Oh, er, I was just... looking around for any interesting books to read when I tripped and fell.
  25. [2011-01-10 17::11:59] Sara_White: "O-oh. I see." She wrings her hands a little bit. "Did you come for c-club?"
  26. [2011-01-10 17::14:31] John_Kilanger: "Yes, but seeing as how almost nobody is here, I figured I would just look around and kill some time." John scratches the back of his head. "If you wouldn't mind me asking, who was it that you were talking to?"
  27. [2011-01-10 17::17:43] Sara_White: "Um, n-nobody." She's not being very convincing.
  28. [2011-01-10 17::19:50] John_Kilanger: shrugs. "Alright then." John finishes putting the books back on the shelf, and checks to make sure they are in order.
  29. [2011-01-10 17::20:53] Sara_White: "U-um..." It seems Rachel wants to say something, but she's just kind of staring at the floor.
  30. [2011-01-10 17::21:48] John_Kilanger: "Do you want to ask me something?"
  31. [2011-01-10 17::24:05] Sara_White: "Huh?" She starts. "No, um, I—"
  32. [2011-01-10 17::24:52] Sara_White: She stares down at her shoes. "S-sorry. Nathan said I s-shouldn't talk to you anymore."
  33. [2011-01-10 17::27:04] John_Kilanger: looks puzzled. "Huh? Why is that?"
  34. [2011-01-10 17::33:31] Sara_White: "U-um..." She wrings her hands. "B-because you're with Nerv, and he said they're d-dangerous."

  37. [2011-01-10 17::41:23] John_Kilanger: looks off to the side. "Well, even though I am a pilot for Nerv, when I am at this school I'm just a regular person."

  44. [2011-01-10 19::23:02] John_Kilanger: sighs "I should probably talk to him about this, but if he doesn't want you talking to me, then there isn't a lot I can do."
  45. [2011-01-10 19::25:45] Sara_White: Rachel looks up. "I-if you could... I don't know if he would t-talk to you, though."
  46. [2011-01-10 19::25:58] Sara_White: "I just don't w-want to leave..."
  47. [2011-01-10 19::29:25] John_Kilanger: "Well, we both are in Book club, so hopefully I'll be ble to talk to him during a meeting." John puts a hand on her shoulder "And don't worry, if you haven't done anything wrong, than there's nothing to worry about."
  48. [2011-01-10 19::33:37] Sara_White: Rachel bites her lip... "I-if you say so..."
  49. [2011-01-10 19::40:37] John_Kilanger: takes his hand off her shoulder. "I should be heading back to the dorm right about now. Nerv still needs all pilots ready to sortie in case the New Year Arrival makes a move."
  50. [2011-01-10 19::43:29] Sara_White: She nods slowly. "J-just be c-careful, okay?"
  51. [2011-01-10 19::44:08] Sara_White: "I'll, um, come here again tomorrow. I d-don't think Nathan will know."
  52. [2011-01-10 19::47:26] John_Kilanger: "Hopefully, I'll be free tomorrow then, as well. And don't worry, I don't plan on dieing just yet." He smiles and waves goodbye before heading towards the Library's exit.
