  1. Hey,
  2.
  3. Over the past couple of weeks I've been listening to the chat in the TS and watching league chat while I've been on. While I could be leaning toward the pessimistic side a bit, I sometimes get the feelings folks aren't entirely happy with the league as it currently stands. That, coupled with a league I'm rather fond of reforming just to get rid of their leader, makes me want to check in with everyone to get a glimpse of their thoughts. From decisions I've made, decisions the officer group has made as a whole, dealings you've had with EU/US members, or just the state of the game itself, I want this league to be a place you want to be.
  4.
  5. That being said, I guess I'm just curious as to whether you have any feedback or thoughts on directions going forward. Is this still a league you want to be a part of? Are the officers/leader people you feel comfortable following? What exactly are your expectations when you think about being part of <Odyssey>? Do you want to see more content? See or be apart of more of our media content (YouTube videos or Twitch streams)? Do you want there to be scheduled events? Do you like/dislike the statics? Do you want more relaxed recruitment? Do you want a more selective process for groups, where skill becomes a deciding factor?
  6.
  7. These are just a few questions off the top of my head, but I'm open to hearing any feedback you have whatsoever pertaining to the league. In the end? I'm one person here. It's more important to me that the members as a whole are happy and enjoying the game and league experience.
  8.
  9. If you aren't comfortable answering, I do want to say a few things. First? I've sent this to multiple folks to get their opinions. I'm not trying to single you out personally, but I do value your opinion. Second, this particular message is private only between the two of us. This isn't a mass group message like has been sent in the past. Third, no backlash will come of this message. I'll never respond or mention it if you do not want me to, I'll just use it as feedback. I'm not looking for reasons to lose folks, I'm looking for either assurance that we're doing things right or advice on how to get on that path.
  10.
  11. Thanks for any response you feel comfortable giving,

  17. " Is this still a league you want to be a part of?" I love being part of Odyssey. I don't plan on going any were. I can get into any league in the game. I choose to be part of Odyssey because its were all my friends are.
  18.
  19. "Are the officers/leader people you feel comfortable following?" Being an officer or the Leader is a difficult task to do. You are more responsible for for your actions and decisions you make. Trust me I know. I was an officer in Legion Legends and 2nd in charge in prototype. One of the hardest things of leadership is knowing how to read a person. Part of doing that is talking to them about other things besides in game content. That all being said I am fine with the officers and I am fine with you being Leader. I voted for you to be the leader.
  20.
  21. "What exactly are your expectations when you think about being part of <Odyssey>?" My expectations are to play with friends and have a good time doing it. That is my number one goal at the end of the day.
  22.
  23. Do you want to see more content? From T4 down can be soloed or 2 manned these days so just doing T6 content is fine for me.
  24.
  25. "See or be apart of more of our media content (YouTube videos or Twitch streams)?" I love to watch the videos. As far as being part of them it doesn't bother me either way really. I am here if you need me never say no to it. But I am not going to beg to be part of video or steam. People like to do videos because they like to help the community, show off there skill, become in game known or just have fun doing it.
  26.
  27. "Do you want there to be scheduled events?" Might be cool. But are biggest problem is most of the league has become casual players. To setup an event we could try it. But I am thinking its going to not work with timing and peoples real life schedules.
  28.
  29. "Do you like/dislike the statics?" I like the statics.I think that is one of the things that has kept guys from disappearing.
  30.
  31. "Do you want more relaxed recruitment? Do you want a more selective process for groups, where skill becomes a deciding factor?" This one is a tough one. I have always said " Quality before Quantity". I will always stand by this. We have a hard time getting people to use the Website in league let alone recruiting from it. The EU side has had more luck using the website. That is because they were already a sizable league and are more well known.
  32. With that all said new guys are always going to be shy at first. They aren't always going to know people in the league. Its the task as leadership to get them involved. Convince them US Odyssey is the best league for them. Mean while checking to see if they a good fit for us. I haven't said anything because because its not my place.
  33.
  34. I hope some of these answers helped

  41. Definitely beneficial just to hear what others think, especially on the recruitment since you've been at the top before. Thanks, Tally.

  45. Futher thoughts on Recuitment.
  46.
  47.
  48. We can go out and pug content to find really good players and add them to are friends list. But some of us have a large friends list already established.
  49.
  50. A good example is players known is The Remake.I know allot of them. They are having in league issues. I have talked to Wara on this. Maybe in the future there are going to be some really good players out there may become available. One other example is the Revengencers. You know allot of them and some might want to come to over. The biggest thing when they do is not to let them just hold the tag. They have to be involved .
  51.
  52. We need to fill statics. When Cos or Z is missing a person. We should ask a person on the friends list first not pull from within league. When there is nobody on anyone's friends list available. Then we should pull from within league.
  53.
  54. Guys we recruit should have a static as soon as they join. Cause while they are still just a trial member. We need to see if they fit into the static. As well as the league

  59. The only thing there I'm not in agreement with is the final part.
  60.
  61. I do agree we need to hit up pugs and friends' lists more. I'm sure there are people in league that folks don't even know are IN the league, y'know?
  62.
  63. The recruits going straight into a static, I'm uneasy with. I do not want to recruit solely for that. I want to recruit people who fit into the league regardless of a static spot. I don't want to put them in there definitively until we know they fit with the league. Yes, they should be invited to fill in. But I don't want them to go on the permanent roster until they have proven themselves and made it through the trial.

  67. Currently in league all we are doing is statics. Here and there we are putting together raids. But in order to get them involved. We should have them temporally fill a spot.

  72. I agree they will temporarily fill a spot. I do not want new recruits to take it permanently, though, as there may be better fits as we recruit. But I 100% agree it'd be a great way to not only fill out spots in a static while we recruit, but also get them involved and let us get to know them and their play.

  76. Yep that is all was meant by that. An option also as we get bigger as a league. Is to set-up a Leftover squad like EU. That will ensure everyone completes the Content.
  77.
  78. Leftover squad should be a non committed Raid groups. That we can use to recruit from friends list and Test Trial members and have players who are not in a static in the future.
  79.
  80. But for now we have to grow as a league. We don't want to grow to were we have so many players that its a mess. We should set goals. Like how many players do we want in the league. How many statics We want.
  81.
  82. Me i think 2 statics and having a leftover setup would be cool. How many players is yours and the officers call cause you have to manage that. Those are the basics.
  83.
  84. Off topic: One thing I have always liked is setting up is a Grind group and spam groups .
  85.
  86. Grind Groups: Those are the guys willing to go into content and figuring out the mechanics of a raid. You did that with Odyssey test and its awesome.
  87.
  88. Spam groups: The guys that love to hunt for gears and then become competitive with others.
  89. Like CC group did with Lock down speed runs.
  90.
  91. Common statics just want to get the content done and get some feats. Grind and spam groups are a different beast.
