  1. >Be Anon
  2. >The air is ice cold, but it does little to penetrate your thick winter coat.
  3. >The darkness of the night is lit up by a series street lights that guide you home.
  4. >You look up and take note of the aura of warmth it forms against numerous snowflakes that seems to stand still in the frigid air.
  5. >It’s just another shitty night in this fucking city.
  6. >You stumble over a hard patch of ice and almost fall over.
  7. >Thank god you decided to limit your drinking at the bar.
  8. >How did you do it? Easy, you didn't bring all your money.
  9. >That’s how it always is, or else you’d drink till you dropped.
  10. >You look down at the sidewalk ahead of you and notice its glossy appearance.
  11. >Being the very unlucky person you are, you decide you'd rather take a different route instead of taking your chances on what looks to be ice.
  12. >Thankfully, there is a short alleyway to your right.
  13. >You were going to take a right at the end of the next corner anyways, so it’s not out of your way.
  14. >You enter the alley.
  15. >Every step comes with the audible sound of snow crunching against the sole of your shoes.
  16. >The tall buildings, on either side of you, sever little protection against the cold.
  17. >As you walk by, you notice a box with a little sign on the ground near it.
  18. >You pick it up, brush the snow off and read.
  19. *Looking for a home*
  20. >Not being sure what to do, you kneel down and take a look in the box.
  21. >You can make out the dark shade of what you think is yellow fur, and maybe a pink mane and tail of what looks to be a mare.
  22. >An Equestrian?
  23. >You also take note of the outline of three butterflies on her flank.
  24. >Although she is shivering, you doubt she’s awake, or else she would have noticed your presence.
  25. >Either way, it doesn't look as though she’ll have a good nights rest.
  26. >Things like this are common, and you know better not to get involved with other’s affairs.
  27. >You get up.
  28. >There was a time when you were generous, willing to do whatever, for whoever, but that only gave you problems and caused you pain.
  29. >You turn to walk away.
  30. >To discern those who are worth your time against those who are not isn't always an easy task.
  31. >You take a few steps.
  32. >As much as you hate your life, you know there are others out there that have it way worse.
  33. >You stop.
  34. >It’s moments like these that you wished someone were there for you.
  35. >You turn around, unzip your coat, and walk back to the foot of her box.
  36. >You kneel down once again and bestow your coat, wrapping it snugly around her.
  37. >Her shivering seems to stop immediately.
  38. >You get up and continue your walk home.
  39. >Although you can see your breath in the chilled air, you feel unusually warm.
