Based in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Saunders Girl’s High School is known for their incredibly respected Senshado program.

Saunders boasts a famous High School, but there is also a Kindergarten program, an Elementary School, a Junior High School, and a Junior College. In addition there also exists the very prestigious Saunders University.

The history of Saunders first started as a small school in Nagasaki City for the children of a small group of American immigrants. Eventually their numbers grew, and it was eventually moved to the nearby Sasebo City. Though the first students were American children, eventually it was opened for all to enroll. Though in its early days the students were mixed American and Japanese, by the time the school carrier was built the students were almost entirely Japanese. But even now they keep close to their roots. Saunders regularly hosts exchange students from its twin school in Maryland, USA, and even when students aren’t being exchanged, the two school carriers regularly meet at Hawaii or San Diego for various events.



Saunders has a very active and extensive Senshado program. They are the richest school with the most tanks in their possession among all the schools, but more importantly, they are the school with the most operational tanks at one time. This is due to their maintenance students and their extremely aggressive attitude towards the upkeep of the fleet. Parts only barely out of spec are regularly replaced. Due to this, it has been estimated that Saunders has at least 50 M4 Medium Tanks operational at any time. Some of their non-operational vehicle are in pieces but due to their modular nature makes it easy to obtain parts should there ever be a need to restore them.

Of note is a Sherman of which a single model exists in Saunders' garage. An M4 was modified with a modified turret and new gun to match the capabilities of the 17-Pounder armed Firefly Sherman for use as a vehicle to remove heavier opponents.

With the exception of their Firefly for official reasons, there have been plans to upgrade the tanks in the future to E8 standards, with HVSS bogies and wider tracks. However only a small number have been upgraded, due to the sheer amount of effort and money it would take. But there are also students that prefer the older, but more comfortable VVSS bogies over the newer and stronger HVSS bogies. Currently the Maintenance Department is prioritizing upkeep and maintenance over upgrades.

Supporting their famous M4 Shermans, Saunders also possesses the M3 and M5 Light Tanks for reconnaissance purposes. But along with their tanks, they also own an incredibly vast number of other, non-tank vehicles, usually in use for utility duties. It has been rumored that the majority of their vehicles are rusting away in junkyards within the bowels of the ship. Their exact numbers are unknown, not even the senior students have anything more than an estimate. Due to the sheer number of vehicles, it has been joked that Saunders students will use one of their vehicles in incredibly mundane tasks, such as going to the bathroom.



With their tanks, Saunders also has the largest group of tankers and an even larger group of support staff. There are about 500 Senshado students at one time. They are divided into three armies, 1st Army makes up the largest group, 2nd Army with its 87 Divisions, and 3rd Army with its 91 Divisions.

After the tankers there are several times their numbers that preform the maintenance of their tanks. In support is the Intelligence Department which collects, processes, and archives information about known and potential allies and rivals, and the Home Economics Department which assists with cooking, washing, etc.

Though not critical to their success, the Saunders Brass Band and Cheerleading Squad also follow them to their matches. In fact, the vast majority of Saunders Departments cooperate with the Senshado Program in some way.



Their tactics emphasize heavy firepower and a mobile defense. After the frontal flank has met an enemy it slowly retreats while the main force comes up from behind, slamming into the pursuing enemy head on. A flanking maneuver is executed from the left and right and the enemy is squeezed into a killing zone. Usually spotted in the main attacking force is the Firefly, whose main role is to remove any heavy vehicle that would otherwise impede an assault.

This tactic requires that all vehicles be in almost constant communication with each other in order to execute their maneuvers in sync with the rest of the group. Saunders tactics involve extremely heavy communication requirements and it is this reason that vehicle commanders are usually recruited from the Intelligence Department.

With the most tanks of any school it would seem Saunders would dominate every match, the reality is that they rarely get to unleash their full potential as there is almost always a restriction on the number of vehicles that can be fielded at any one time. With the National Senshado Tournament limiting the number of vehicles to no more than 20 in the final round and even less during the earlier stages, their main tactic almost never gets fully executed.



Manners and rules are highly regarded in the eyes of Saunders students, even at the cost of victory. Though they share this respect with St. Gloriana, it has not stopped them from calling Saunders tactics barbaric, as Saunders prefers brute force over delicate maneuvers and efficient tactics.



Food is something that is enjoyed by all Saunders students, but among those, Hamburgers, Steaks, and Barbecue is the most popular. These foods are so popular that some students eat them for breakfast. Regardless, there are many types of meats, many lean with little fat, but all of them available cheap.
