From those gorgeous and flowering bushes rustling with the breeze, a pair of golden eyes watched their surroundings, seeming to glow slightly. A sleek and dark form methodically began to emerge from the bush with its stormy gray fur already damp from the raindrops. The creature's paws, with claws extending at least two inches, were a lighter shade of gray than the rest of its dingy body and seemed to be covered with blood.

Soon, the beast's full frame was revealed, and it was quite large. Seven feet long, at the very least, and a good four feet tall as well. It had silky fur and long, slim legs that were built for running - built for pursuing. Its tail, which took up nearly a seventh of its length, had a light gray tuft of fur at the tip, similar to a lion's tail. Another feature it had that was akin to the king of the jungle was its jet black, feathery mane. From its mane, the brutish animal's head poked out, with long bat-like ears that extended at least six inches, and canine teeth that poked out slightly over its maw.

Aesthetically, the thing could almost be considered beautiful - a wonder, one could say. But cognitively, it was anything but. Those legs, so perfectly build to pursue, shook with the craving to do so. And those teeth chattered with the desire to sink into something. Its glowing eyes could see all, flickering and scrutinizing every movement that broke the night's stillness.
