  1. Here's what you should do to acquire a practically free texture.
  2. 1 - Download the SL Cache viewer. http://slcacheviewer.com/
  3. 3 - Find one avatar or object with a skin/texture you like.
  4. 4 - Clean your texture cache, making sure to take a note of where the folder is located. (the button to clear the cache and the location are in the red boxes in this picture: http://puu.sh/cnBtW/30cdc787a6.jpg ) Close your SL viewer.
  5. 5 - Log back into that place and wait for the avatar or object you were interested to load. (paying a lot of attention to minute details in the skin/texture, as you'll have to recognize it later. Maybe take a screenshot of the legs, torso and face to make it easier)
  6. 6 - Once she finished loading you can close SL if you want to.
  7. 7 - Open the SL Cache Viewer, click the "open" button on the top left. Now find your cache folder and, once inside it, open the "texturecache" folder. Then, double click the "texture.entries" file.
  8. 8 - Among the loads of crap, you'll have to find the skins you want, they will look something like this: http://puu.sh/cnCs5/382a5d4b00.jpg (again, it will be one texture for the face, one for the torso and one for the legs)
  9. 8 - Right click each one of those, select "export - Normal", save the file somewhere and then upload those to SL. (This will cost you 30 lindens, not very far from free.)
  10. 9 - In your inventory, create a new skin http://puu.sh/cnD3q/3bcf18c5f0.png
  11. 10- Inside it, place the textures into their designed slots http://puu.sh/cnDiZ/c1a406b422.png
