- First recollection:
- ----------------------------
- A recreation of one of my spells from my Yukari script, combining both the old and new versions, which can be found here [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhs8crwXGqo&t=1m5s] and here [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-X2QWM5bcM&t=1m12s] respectively. In the first incarnation of the spell, I always wanted to make it look like the bullets were "growing", but I didn't know how to do so back then (seeing how my original Yukari script was my first major Danmakufu project), so I had to settle for making the bullets rapidly changing in graphic from tiny bullets to bubble bullets. Now in the new engine, and with my new knowledge, I was finally able to accomplish part of what my original vision was.
- Avoiding the expanding bullets is easy enough, but beware the secondary threat they pose of obscuring the smaller instant-growing bullets. Take refuge in a corner if staying directly underneath Yukari is unsafe due to the expanding bullets.
- Second recollection:
- ---------------------------------
- This was among one of my favorites in my original Yukari script [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-X2QWM5bcM&t=3m51s], but I feel that the way I had the waves just kind of compress together near the end was just too unfair, ultimately making it an unnecessarily hard spell. I wanted to try to rectify that. In addition, my access to better graphics nowadays allowed me to give the spell a graphical overhaul as well :P
- The individual waves aren't very difficult, but exercise caution as they begin overlapping. Focus on dodging one wave at a time, and avoid putting yourself in a position where you'll have to dodge more than one wave at once.
- Third recollection:
- -----------------------------
- This was perhaps my number one favorite spell from my old script [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-X2QWM5bcM&t=8m53s], but again it was a bit too hard back then. I modified the way the "Earth" shot at you to make it a little easier, but then I thought it was a bit TOO easy. I then decided to add in an idea I only thought of back when I first created the spell -- to make the spell live up to its name by having the "Earth" and "Heavens" literally warring with each other, with the poor player caught in the crossfire. Hence, I added the extra attacks just to spice things up a bit~
- Semi-aimed walls fire from below, so be sure to keep moving. While the "eruptions" are easy to avoid and semi-randomly placed, the bullets jettisoned into the air from it can rain down fairly far away, so watch out for those as they begin to come back down.
- Fourth recollection:
- --------------------------------
- In a Danmakufu contest that focused on beauty, this spell card helped me secure a win [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUbTU1mNzF4&t=1m36s]. It was a blast making it, as the result of a bunch of screwing around with sin and cos functions in my free time, and people loved it for its dazzling colors and patterns. However, looking back I felt it swung a bit too drastically between slow moments with not much coming at you and fast moments with dense walls coming in from all sides. I altered the formula a tad to try to make dodging the pattern a more balanced experience, as well as to attempt to make it even more beautiful!
- My best advice here is to just go with the flow. Staying directly beneath Kaguya will be a challenge, so don't be afraid to move around with the bullets to avoid getting trapped and look for an opening to pass through and get back to the center.
- Fifth recollection:
- ----------------------------
- DANCE PARTY!!! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUbTU1mNzF4&t=3m31s) This was a really silly spell card I threw in as filler back in my Kaguya script. You may have noticed I'm a big fan of musically-synced spells, so I made it such just to throw in a little comic relief. It actually ended up being fairly popular if the comments section was to be believed, so I decided to bring it back! And even though this script is strictly concerning old scripts I made back in the old Danmakufu engine, I decided to give the "dancers" from my more recent script, "PRAISE THE SUN", a little cameo here~ Also, please note that the video misses the music cues for certain transitions because of ever-so-slight recording lag. In-game, it should be fairly accurate!
- Everything's pretty much pseudo-random, but the small lasers are somewhat aimed at your location, so you can stream them.
- Sixth recollection:
- -----------------------------
- The final spell card to my Kaguya script, in which she summons her hordes of fanboys to fight you (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUbTU1mNzF4&t=7m). This time I was able to make the familiar shield around her last a shorter time, but also decided to throw in some danmaku for them as well to help better escalate the spell as Kaguya's health is whittled down.
- Not much of a secret here, just dodge. Note that true to the original spell, Kaguya and her shield temporarily become invincible when you use a bomb.
- Seventh recollection:
- ----------------------------------
- A remake of the very first spell card I ever made in Danmakufu--the script that started it all (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySEk8mTIYdM&t=7s). Four years ago today was when I first uploaded the video of this and a few other scripts I had made shortly after learning basic Danmakufu coding from Helepolis's tutorials. For this remake, I decided to keep things simple, but with a bit of a twist.
- Just dodge the bubbles and green arrows, and try to move as little as possible while the lasers are spawning.
- Eighth recollection:
- -------------------------------
- A semi-serious Last Word of sorts for Satori in which she channels an April Fool's script I made a while back (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYOIFWeexuI&t=44s). That script was made with literally zero effort just as a joke, obviously, and was meant to kill the player as fast as possible. This time, I actually went ahead and tried to make it somewhat dodgeable (at least for the first few waves) before it just gets too ridiculous to consistently capture. Also, in the old version, I just had a bunch of random bullets and lasers spawn in the general area where the characters were. But THIS time, I made each individual character fire bullets/lasers that fit them specifically. Is it balanced? Hell no. But is it cool? HELL YES! Oh yes, and this time I actually made sure to include EVERYONE from Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil and beyond. Previously, I made a few embarrassing goof-ups by forgetting characters such as Daiyousei, Koakuma, and Yuuka of all people. I considered adding in PC-98's, but the screen was already getting pretty packed already. Maybe next time? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- And again, note that the reason why there's about 2-3 seconds of silence at the end is because of the ever-so-slight recording lag. In-game, the music ends right as the spellcard does.
- All the bullets are semi-aimed at you, so you can try to stream the utter shitstorm of hellfire raining down on you. But after the 4th or 5th wave, expect to start dying. I didn't bother trying to make this "captureable" because it would've been difficult to do so without neutering all the characters' firing rates. I wanted to give them all a chance to shine! Besides, bombing is disabled and you have infinite lives anyway. Just sit back and enjoy the fact that ALL THE TOOHOOS have come out to make your life miserable. <3 Plus, in a way, the spell being impossible to survive is somewhat true to the original anyway!
