  1. Overworld
  2. - Overworld movement feels pretty nice, though a little slow.
  3. - The 3D background and the 2D characters mesh surprisingly well, and it looks visually consistent.
  4. - The sound effects for the typewriter text are kinda harsh and blatty.
  5. -- Same for the sound effect that plays when moving between different UI elements in the battle scene. They're just a bit too high pitched.
  6. - The cutscenes are really cool. They have a lot of fairly complex movement, and flow seamlessly from the overworld.

  8. Combat
  9. - Combat system seems really solid overall. Lots of little details really gives you that Paper Mario nostalgia feel. Just a few things to mention though:
  10. - The 3D arrow at the New Game menu and during combat looks kinda out of place.
  11. - The vines coming down as a menu selection thing does look really cool.
  12. - I wasn't sure if the Skills, Tri Attack, and Inventory commands were unavailable, or if there was something wrong. Maybe consider greying out those selections when you can't pick them, or playing a different, sound effect if you do try to select them.
  13. - When selecting an action for the leftmost character, the vines for the menus kinda cut off (you can still see the currently selected option, but not the one to the left of it).
  14. -- It's a minor thing, but definitely something to consider fixing later on.
  15.
  16. Other
  17. - The default buttons being Z, X, C, and D felt a little awkward. My hands would rest on Z, X, and C, but moving up to D felt a bit unnatural.
