- Lumi's Guide to being a Warrior!
- (This guide is often updated or rewritten and may contradict previous versions)
- The Basics:
- [*]When you are starting out, you need to buy swords and shields from the town store. Remember that you can haggle 5% cheaper on all store prices, so swords and shields are 72FC[*]Nothing will happen when your HP reaches zero and you lose the fight besides a possibility to get sick, but you should try to avoid this as it is a waste of your HP and equipment durability. I suggest choosing "run" on uncommon, rare, or super rare creatures if your HP is below 20. I also suggest not fighting at all when your HP is below 8 and you are sick.[*]Only one sword is necessary, but I suggest equipping 3 so that you're always prepared in case one loses durability.[*]You can change equipment in the middle of a battle if you need to.[*]Your HP will not regenerate while you are in battle, but your Charge will.[*]You can still win battles while sick, just stick to commons.
- Equipment:
- [*][s]The difference in cost between buying a new basic sword/shield or repairing them is negligible, so it is up to you what you choose to do. Personally I let them break and buy new ones. 72FC to buy, 74FC to repair in the maintenance market, and 60FC to repair yourself, but repairing takes time and makes your blacksmith busy while buying is instant.[/s] Repairs have been updated to be cheaper than buying new, and are much faster (a few minutes)[*]You can defeat any creature with just the basic sword, but to defeat creatures uncommon and above you will need more HP. The Frozen Bone Shield from Tigereye Peak is the highest HP shield that I'm aware of and it is fairly easy to make, requiring only 480FC with easily obtainable resources. You will need to have won 10 battles to equip it.[*]If you have been battling for a while and your HP is below 20, switch to the cheaper store-bought shield so that you are not using up the durability of your higher class shield for no reason. They do not provide defense, only the HP buff.[*]Before you stop playing for the day, equip your higher class shield to allow your HP to fill up. With Frozen Bone Shield, you will easily get 110 HP after a few hours, allowing you to fight much harder foes.[*]Whether you repair or use up and repurchase a higher class shield will depend on if you can craft that shield yourself and what the market prices are. [s]Repairing costs 60 steel (translating to 600FC) and 12 hours[/s] (Repairs have been adjusted to be much faster, but are still a bit pricey on the steel) which isn't worth it for me, but if you cannot craft it yourself and they are only on the market for more than the cost of repairing, you may want to hold onto it and repair.[*]If you go the repair route, you should have at least 2 so you have something to use while the other one repairs.[*]If a hired blacksmith does not return your item after the proper amount of time has passed, you can go to the villager's profile, click on their career badge, and complete the job yourself.
- Farming uncommon and above creatures for loot:
- [*]Get your HP up high with Frozen Bone or similar shield[*]Make sure you have plenty of swords or FC to buy more[*]Use your one free doctor visit a day on your Warrior, but only when you have 110 HP and you are ready to WIN. Running and losing battles both have a chance of making you sick again, wasting your one free doctor visit(*As of 7/6 Lumi got sick after WINNING a battle, I don't know if this is a bug or just something that happens infrequently)[*]Alternatively, if you know a doctor or can buy cures, cure your warrior whenever you are ready to fight difficult foes (I still suggest only doing this above at least 40HP)[*]The ingredients for swords are extremely difficult to come by, so for now, use as many basic swords as you need.[*]You may want to allow your HP to regenerate now and then rather than using all your battle charges at once. This way, you can try to take on very high level foes you may run into.
- Farming for numbers/the protection quotient:
- [*]Same techniques as above will work here, but you don't need to have high HP and you can skip any monsters you don't think you can beat. You can easily get 5 wins per hour if you skip everything that's not common and fight with only the basic sword and shield.[*]Keep an eye on your HP and Charge so you can fight as soon as soon as possible without wasting any charges (ie you are sitting on 5 charges for a long time instead of using them, so you won't get any more).
