  1. It all began the day I opened that damned journal out of my husband's luggage. That was the day I found the horrors that my husband was affiliated with. He was a scientist that studied human behaviour at a... /far/ more serious level than you would have ever thought. Even I never believed he was capable of such a thing until I began to read.

  4. The discovery of this journal happened after my husband left for his new job opportunity as a researcher of Material Culture. Curiosity had been growing since we first began talking about his career and he seemed to be hiding quite a bit of information regarding what he actually did. When he first left to this new job, I saw it as an opportunity to look around and possibly find out more information about him. The kitchen was the first place I decided to look.

  7. I looked around the counters for papers laying around, in hopes of finding details to maybe learn more about his work since he constantly stowed his papers across the counters. Suddenly, as I was looking through the papers I heard a bang coming from the basement. My attention was diverted to the source of the sound and I heard yet another bang. I stopped what I was doing and headed down to the basement, my curiosity shortly turning to confusion. Upon entering the basement, I saw that the window had been slamming against the surface of the window sill.

  9. With a sigh of relief, I went by the side of the door and lugged the rusty metal stairs to rest against the wall that had the window. I stepped up to shut the window, my hands pulling the window shut. After doing so, I looked around; Lots and lots of boxes.. and a musky brown leather book that simply stood out just for being the only book on top of everything. Reaching for it, I was practically at the tips of my feet on the edge of the stairs, the tips of my fingers touched the edge of the book and I clawed them in, raking the book into my possession.

  11. I rushed down from the stairs, and headed to my room giving up on my endeavours of finding more information as it's already been long enough for looking and this distraction was just enough to make me end my search. Bringing the book with me to my room, I locked myself in, sat myself on my bed and studied the cover. It was a wrinkly cover much like an old sort of diary and scribbled on the front with what looked like a permanent marker was written "RESEARCH OF 2009". Not thinking too much about it, I just assumed it was things I already knew and since I was already bored, I decided to open it up and read just so I seemed a bit smarter with my next dinner conversation. However, what I found has inspired me to begin writing my findings. A lot of it was faded but I tried my best to write the summary of the contents below.
