- [17:11] <@SusanTD> Some students disliked living on the third floor of the dormitories. Amrosine did not mind in the slightest and her room in particular, C-38, was all her own. Corner room, view out over the lake, multiple windows. And no roommates. It was her refuge away from the mass of other students, aside from the classroom she had organized for the growing Musician Club. She hit the C button on the elevator of the lobby in the girls dormitory and waited.
- [17:24] <Angelica_Ortiz> Angelica finds herself in the hallway of the girls dormitory after having a brief conversation with Mr. Sullivan about a small room change. ((Typical.)) She thinks to herself, (( Finally start getting used to my room here and my roommate asks to have me moved. For 'personal reasons'. Why dosen't the stuck up puta jus come out and say it. She's a bitch that don't like me. Stop beating 'round the bush and jus say it.")) She trudges down the corridor towards the elevators, looking down, lost in her irritation over the events of the meeting. She carries a small knapsack filled with a few changes of clothes, her textbooks and personal belongings.
- [17:29] <@SusanTD> Standing 7 inches taller than Angelica, Ambrosine gives a small polite smile to the other girl next to her. "Floor?" Her eyes still have hints of metallic gold sprinkled over the normal slate-grey from her encounter with Dorian.
- [17:35] <Angelica_Ortiz> Angelica hesitates for an instant at the unexpected meeting. Her brow furrowed in pent up frustration. And returns the odd girls smile a brief flash of a smile in return. "C. I guess. What they told me."
- [17:40] <@SusanTD> "Ah, fantastique. Myself as well." The elevator *TING*s and the doors slide open, Ambrosine stepping inside, and pressing the C button once Angelica is inside as well. "It is odd, non? They letter the floors, instead of numbering them. A, B, C." She is mostly making polite small talk, not bothering to try and catch Angelica's eyes yet.
- [17:46] <Angelica_Ortiz> Angelica considers the statement for a moment before responding.“ Spose so. Guess the guy in charge wanted to be different. Prolly, thought he was being clever or somethin'. Bet someone payed the dick a ton of money to do it to.”
- [17:51] <@SusanTD> Ambrosine cocks her head very slightly, not entirely sure how to take that statement. It was a little too... aggressive to be casual small talk. Thankfully, Ambrosine was saved by the literal *TING* as the elevator reached C. The tall woman gives another polite smile. "Ah, here we are." She steps out, not bothering to look at the sign directly across from the elevator that said what room numbers were in which direction. She already knew where C-38 was, and turned left, walking to her room.
- [18:02] <Angelica_Ortiz> Angelica steps out after the odd girl and begins looking at the placard posted outside on the wall to figure out the direction of her new room. Glad to be out of the cramped confines of the elevator car and the awkwardness that always comes from having to ride one with a stranger. Fishing out of her pocket the small yellow envelope with the room number written in bold Sharpie across one side that Mr. Sullivan had given her to hold her new rooms RFID key. "C-38" She says. As she looks down the hallway in the direction the odd girl walked.
- [18:06] <@SusanTD> The tall mutant stops in-front of C-38, waits a half moment before the door lets out a quiet *beep*, and then opens the door, closing it behind her without another thought to Angelica. She didn't need to learn the name of every mutant. And she'd felt... odd around the girl, while inside the elevator. She often felt that way around other psychics and telepaths. Glad to be back inside her room, she moves to the 5 different windows along the two walls, opening each to let in a cool breeze to the room. She then proceeds towards the table by her bed, pulling out the small metal simulacrum of her. She smiles at it, her eyes gaining a short burst of metallic gold, before she places it on the table. Ambrosine then walks into the attached bathroom and closes the door behind her. Even if she didn't have a roommate, she still had manners. Shower, sink, toilet, it wasn't spacious, but it wasn't small either. It may have been meant for four, it was entirely hers so far. The various counters covered in products of multiple kinds, towels she had purchased on racks.
- [18:11] <Angelica_Ortiz> ((Well, better go see who the new roommate is. Waiting will only make the disappointment worse.)) She repositions her bag upon her shoulder and turns on her heel. Beginning to walk down the hallway. Reading each room number as she comes across them till she finds the right one. She takes a deep breath and exhales preparing herself. ((Okay Lil' Girl. Be tough, show her who's boss that you won't be fucked with. But don't push it too far or else there's gonna be issues. And if you fuck this up you're screwed. Better knock. Who knows what shit this girls into)) Angelica, knocks on the door lightly before passing the card before the reader.
- [18:16] <@SusanTD> Ambrosine is washing her hands as she hears the knocks. Vanilla scented, moisturized liquid soap washed away, "Oui?" She opens the door to the bathroom and moves towards the main door, her eyebrows quirking upwards as she hears the beep of the door lock.
- [18:16] <Angelica_Ortiz> Waiting a second and listening at the door for a response. Hearing none Angelica presses open the door before it can re-lock itself.
- [18:19] <@SusanTD> Ambrosine stares for a long moment as the door opens. Her first immediate thought 'My precious solitude, ruined.' with a quick follow-up, 'The short angry girl from the elevator?' "Ah... I imagine that means I am your new room-mate, non?"
- [18:26] <Angelica_Ortiz> Angelica pauses for a second taking in the situation (( Ah shit. The weird girl from the elevator. Who the hell talks to people on an elevator? )) The thought comes unbidden to her mind. "Eh." She cocks up her chin in Ambrosine's direction. " Looks like we're roomies." Seeing a bed that appears unclaimed she tosses her bag onto it. As it hits the flap falls open allowing a few books and personal items to spill out onto the mattress.
- [18:33] <@SusanTD> Ambrosine nearly lets out a shriek as Angelica throws the bag. It nearly misses an almost invisible object that had been lying on the bed. She quickly runs over to the bed and picks up the bow to her cello, checking it for any potential damage. "Please be more careful in the future!" As she yells, she takes the first chance at eye-contact with Angelica to make a less-than subtle nudge of shame. Instantly, her eyes colour lavender, swirls of it overtaking the gold. "Ah... I am sorry for overreacting. That bed is free though." Wait, why was she apologizing?
- [18:47] <@SusanTD> "Yes. Well." Ambrosine still feels confused, but tries to shrug it off. She then moves over to the desk by her bed, where the red-lacquered cello rests on a stand next to it. Placing the bow on the desk, she then simply stands still. Ambrosine often went through very basic meditative steps, almost subconsciously to regulate the little pushes she made on others. What she encountered were gigantic crashing waves of lavender. 'I should be feeling anger, or joy...' Visibly shaking her head to try and clear her thoughts she turns around to Angelica. "So. Introductions. I am Ambrosine Descoteaux. Yourself?" She again waits for a moment to make eye-contact with the other mutant.
- [18:55] <Angelica_Ortiz> Taken slightly aback by the girl’s sudden emotional swings Angelica struggles to come up with a response. One second she’s shocked and sounding angry the next apologetic, now formal ((Aw shit, she’s one of those loco Mutants they talk about on the news. Don't piss her off)) “Uh… Angelica … Angelica Ortiz. It's like, nice to meet you."
- [19:02] <@SusanTD> As Angelica speaks, Ambrosine catches her eyes for a moment. 'Lavender. So the nudge affected her. She even apologized. So why the difference than normal?' Ambrosine makes a very slight push on the girl's sense of happiness. She maintains eye-contacts and confirms the growth of golden waves now mixed with the lavender. With all of her manipulation done during Angelica's short introduction, Ambrosine gives her a warm smile. "A pleasure to meet you, Mademoiselle Ortiz. That is Mexican, non? Or is it preferred to say Mexican-American? Spanish-American?" Her speaking tone was warm, almost pleasant, conversational.
- [19:08] <Angelica_Ortiz> “Whatever.” She waves he hand dismissively. “ I ain’t Mexican girl. Born an’ raised Los Angeles.” Out of habit Angelic begins to fall back into her street mannerisms . “ You like, French or sumthin’?”
- [19:15] <@SusanTD> "Oui. Born and raised in Rouen. North of Paris." She checks Angelica's emotions yet again. 'Okay, the changes held. How strange the first reaction.' Ambrosine shrugs her shoulders, mostly in response to her own internal monologue. She then sits at the desk near her bed, moving a few books of sheet-music around on the table, looking for something. "You are new, non?"
- [19:20] <Angelica_Ortiz> “Yeah. Jus a few weeks.“ Angelica, now while the girl is distracted shuffling papers and apparently looking for something she’s misplaced. Seizes the opportunity to quickly take in the rooms décor and the huge windows that look out on the lake. “ An’ by the look of things you’re not.”
- [19:28] <@SusanTD> Most of the decor was normal for a dorm room. The only major difference, Ambrosine's bed having non-standard bedding, what would appear to be silk sheets and comforter. The windows additionally did not have simple pull-down blinds, but had multi-coloured cloth drapes. Each window had two colours. One, gold and white. Another, blue and red. A third, brown and black. The fourth, lavender and yellow. And the last, violet and green. "Ah. I have been here for a few months now, oui." As she finishes sorting the music books and organizing her desk, she turns her head to look at Angelica. "Do you have any questions? About the institute, or teachers?" She takes the moment to make gentle nudges on Angelica's sense of excitement, wanting the girl to talk more.
- [19:44] <Angelica_Ortiz> Angelica suppresses a smile thinking that the color combinations of the curtains remind her of the ugly ass dresses Roxy's mom would wear out dancing. Saying they'd attract all the rich men. She pulls up one of Ambrosine's vacant chairs and plops down backward into the plush chair. Her arms crossed and resting on the top of the back of the chair "Nah. I mean , they're all just teachers. You seen one you seen em' all. Though I 'spect these ones are a bit dif'rent." Angelica perks up a bit. "Though, I did hear this place has a garage with some nice rides."
- [19:51] <@SusanTD> "Oui. Monseiur Summers collects cars and restores them. I also believe Monseiur Logan has a few motorcycles. They are not for student use though. One of the restricted areas. Some more areas were also recently made restricted, like the Danger Room. I may have had something to do with that, but I am not fully sure." Ambrosine suddenly clamps down on her mouth. 'No. Something is wrong again. I wanted her to talk.' She scowls to herself, her previously lavender and gold eyes growing blooms of midnight-black.
- [19:59] <Angelica_Ortiz> On the very mention that there is a rule restricting access somewhere Angelica goes on the offense “Restricted. That’s bullshit. Not like we’re gonna steal em’ or nuthin. And I heard lotsa talk ‘bout this Danger Room thing . With a name like that it’s practically askin’ to be checked out. “ Finally, her ire at authority and rules spent the second half of what Ambrosine clicks. “Wait… You been there?
- [20:06] <@SusanTD> "Oui. Once you get into classes for the use and control of your powers, you get assigned to a team. Five students to a team, and you have to work together to accomplish a mission that is unique to your team. You only have that semester to try and complete it, and must work as a team to combine your powers. My team was going through our fifth attempt when there was some sort of issue. The scenario did not cease to function when we failed. Multiple virtual civilians were killed, it was quite horrific. But, we were pulled out of it by Mademoiselle Frost. I had to function as her aide for the weekend, while Oliver had to assist Monsieur Summers cleaning some vehicles in the garage." As she finishes her story she simply stares wide-eyed at Angelica. Her eyes are a rabid kaleidoscope of colours, swirling and shifting from white to red to black to yellow to green. "I... I am not feeling well."
- [20:16] <Angelica_Ortiz> "So, this Oliver dude get's to go in the garage and you gotta play secretary to the guera who walks 'round dressed like a hooker? And it was for a school project. That's fucked up ." It suddenly occurs to Angelica that she might have said something to offend Ambrosine judging by the stare she's getting from the girl. And now that she's paying more attention to her. She notices the shifting eye colors. And begins to backpedal. "Not that lookin' like a hooker is a bad thing. She's got style." She adds. " She's not like, your friend or like mentor or anything? You okay chika? You're like, starin' an shit. And your eyes jus got all fucked up an stuff."
- [20:26] <@SusanTD> Ambrosine starts to hyper-ventilate. Her eyes are focused intently on Angelica's staring not into Angelica's emotional sea, but her own. Water-spouts. She had seen and felt tsunami sized waves, most recently in the Danger Room, but she had never seen such violent and awesome storms of emotion. As she watches the storms, they grow, shift, split, shrink and disappear, in fractions of seconds, simply to repeat the cycle in a new colour. "No..." The colours pick up even more speed before she lets out a scream and finally manages to break her vision from Angelicas. She has to physically whip-lash her head to break the psychic-loop, knocking herself back into her desk, causing papers and books to go flying. There is a long pregnant moment before she lets out a faint whisper, "I am better now..." And then she passes out, sprawled on the desk.
- [20:40] <Angelica_Ortiz> Seeing Ambrosine collapse "Shiiiit"Angelica exclaims and then lets out whistle and takes in the situation for a second. "Damn girl. You're fucked up. I think this roommate thing 'ill work out jus fine." She rises from her chair and kneels beside the fallen woman making sure she's still breathing and lightly slapping her on the cheek to check for some kind of reaction. As she is slapped Ambrosine lets out a low moan. After seeing that she she's 'okay', and convincing herself that the girl is in no immediate danger. She stands up and rushes out of the room running down the hall to the elevator rapidly hitting the call button. In her haste leaving the door slightly ajar.
- [20:50] <+Ivo> Emma is sitting in her office, arguing over the phone with one of her contacts in the press. One second, she's pacing back and forth, taking on an increasingly aggravated tone as the woman on the other end tells her that their interview dates have been moved. Now she has to rearrange everything she and Scott have planned, and now she needs to call Sue Storm and apologize, and possibly beg for a reschedule. The next, she's jolted out of her concerns by a disturbing wave of psychic feedback. "Ms. Wetherell, I'm afraid I'll have to call you back," she says before simply hanging up, already making her way to the girl's dormitories. ~No, my girls, this is nothing for you to be concerned with. At least for now. Stay alert,~ she responds to the mind-call from her Cuckoos, who felt it just the same, if not stronger than her.
- [20:54] <@SusanTD> Ambrosine starts to drool slightly on one of her Beethoven music sheet-books. She is breathing, but otherwise entirely dead to the world. There are remnants of the emotion storms still moving through her mind as she lies unconscious, but they are rapidly dwindling from what they were.
- [20:54] <+Ivo> Eventually, Angelica's frantic button pressing is met with the elevator doors opening, with the figure of the headmistress coming into sight. "What happened, child? Are you alright?" She asks, but immediately starts moving towards the room, knowing full well that Angelica isn't the problem.
- [21:10] <Angelica_Ortiz> Now with Emma on the scene Angelica doesn’t exactly know what to do so she falls into position in tow behind Emma and begins to blather about what happened. “Oh shit! I was comin’ to get you. She just went all strange and her eyes were changin’ colors. Then she just like, blacked out or sumthin”
- [21:16] <+Ivo> Emma raises her eyebrows as she walks, Angelica's presence is felt strongly, having dealt with similar mutants before. "Dear girl, are you aware of your own capabilities? What you can do?" A small congregation of girls has already gathered outside of the dormitory, and as Emma walks, a few others are beginning to take notice, peeking out in curiosity. "Now, now. Stand back, all of you. You're all acting like you've never seen an accident happen here before" she says as she makes her way through the small crowd, trying to make light of the situation. Deep down, however, she's worried. It has been a long time since she's seen a student in this state. Ambrosine's sight takes her back to a dark moment in her life, unsettling her. "Angelica, back up, please. I need my full strength for this," she says as she kneels down next to Ambrosine's unmoving body, cradling her head gently in her hands.
- [21:22] <Angelica_Ortiz> The edge in Emma's voice is all the encouragement Angelica needs. She hesitantly takes a step back and then another till she is out of the room. With equal parts of unwillingness t simply abandon Ambrosine and morbid curiosity she refuses to leave the area completely unless Emma orders her to. Instead, she finds her back pressed against the corridor opposite the rooms door. Trying to place as much distance between her and Emma as she can while still maintaining sight of the stricken girl. "Will she be okay?"
- [21:31] <+Ivo> Emma doesn't respond, takes one deep breath and faces the ceiling, with her eyes closed. She reaches out into the vast waters of psychic resonance that is the Astral plane, taking an eternity that is but a second in the physical world to calm the ripples of her own thoughts, creating a perfectly still mirror beneath her. Through those psychic waters, she pulls Ambrosine, letting her remain there in perfect calmness for a moment while she works on the side to tame the girl's own mind ocean. ~Ah, Ambrosine. It will just be a moment. Do you know what happened to you?~
- [21:33] <@SusanTD> ~I... saw Angelica's emotions but they werent hers... And I tried to change them but they wouldnt change and I kept pushing and then I felt like I had to keep pushing and pushing...~
- [21:53] <+Ivo> Emma smiles, shaking her head and causing a few ripples to spread out from her Astral form ~And why, dear girl, were you pushing your roommate in the first place?~ she turns around, stopping for a moment, tapping one finger against her chin ~Strange, though, how you rate top of my Ethics class. You almost fooled me, girl, I applaud you for that. Perhaps this shall serve as a valuable lesson. For both of us~ with her back turned to the girl's Astral image, Emma finally allows Ambrosine to sink back into her own mind, freed from the emotional maelstrom and healed from the psychic damage it caused. Back in the physical world, she opens her eyes. "She'll survive, with a day-long migraine at best." Pushing herself to a stand, she walks over to Angelica, icy blue eyes scanning her with interest for a few seconds before she speaks. "It seems there is more to your talents than we know, my dear. I'll schedule an appointment for you with Hank post-haste. In the meantime, be careful who you touch."
- [21:57] <@SusanTD> Ambrosine lets out a faint gurgling sort of groan as she awakens, her eyes fluttering open for a moment before closing again. Her arms clumsily move, knocking some books and papers off her desk before they find their way under her head, and then pillowing herself.
- [21:59] <Angelica_Ortiz> Angelica’s eyes grow wider and her mouth drops open a bit, at Emma's statement, in shock and realization that she might have had a hand in what happened. She nods dumbly in confirmation at Emma. “Is it safe for me to be in the room?”
- [22:03] <+Ivo> As Angelica asks that question, Emma has already started to walk back to her office. "I assure you, my girl, this situation will not repeat itself" she tells her, giving Ambrosine one last look before she pushes the elevator button and disappears behind its doors.
- [22:10] <@SusanTD> Ambrosine makes a few groaning noises once Angelica comes back into the room. If the young mutant were to step close to Ambrosine, she might make out the words, "Je suis désolé Anelica. Il l'habitude de jamais se reproduire. Je suis désolé. Désolé."
- [22:18] <Angelica_Ortiz> "Girl, I don' know what you're sayin' but don't bother talkin'." Angelica pulls the blanket off 'her' bed and wraps it around Abrosine's shoulders. After doing that she walks over to the still open door and the hallway full of gawking girls. She Flashes a sour face in their direction and takes up an aggressive stance. " What Putas! You don't got nuthin' else to do? Stop fuckin' lookin'. Get the fuck out." She slams the door to put emphasis on the last statement. "Shit, prolly shouldn't of slammed the door but they had it comin'. Sorry 'bout that."
- [22:23] <@SusanTD> More groaning mumbling, "Cest bien. Vous êtes une bonne personne Angelica, je vous remercie." She moves one arm, pulling the blanket tightly around her before moving it back under her head. "Je vais faire une sieste maintenant, bonne nuit Angelica." After a few minutes, deep and heavy breathing can be heard from Ambrosine. Very occasionally, very faintly as she sleeps, "Désolé."
