  3. So what the hell happened?
  4.
  5. Well our IRC on the VoxAnon network was doing 'okay' with around 500 individuals, probably only 100 of which were actually planning on participating. The target list was deleted a few days before the operation started. Why? Because of this...

  9. We didn't want this. The list of targets named 'The List' on pastebin was made for members within TheWikiBoat group only. It wasn't supposed to be publicly available for everyone to see. At first I thought I had the message private and not public at all. Thinking this, I left the paste there and didn't delete it. A week or so before OpNewSon the list got more and more attention and it finally came to my attention that I still had it up publicly. So that's why I deleted it as soon as i found out it was still up even though it didn't really make a difference because everyone had already seen it.

  11. So now getting on the day of the attack in the IRC. Since the list was gone, the plan was for me to publicly announce one target at a time to be downed. Once that target was down for a specific ammount of time, I would announce a new target to be downed and we would attack all the targets in that manor. BethBlog was the first target on the list from the begining. So for those saying "I THOUGHT WE WERE ATTACKING BIG COMPANIES?!?!?!", BethBlog was the very first target on the list from day 1. To prove so, here is the target list I had saved in notepad..The targets were ordered from first to last:

  149. So that's why it was the first target announced in the IRC. When it was announced, everyone became fucking idiots thinking BethBlog was the only target we were going to attack. Clearly, the people participating didn't know how to successfully commence a DDoS attack on several targets. So we stayed DDoSing BethBlog and after it didn't go down in the first 2 minutes, people became fucking idiots again. "SDKSJDKSD THIS IS A FAYULL OMG!!@!213~!! sldjasdkj!" It takes a few damn minutes of DDoSing before the target actually goes down, it doesn't just go down right away..and the bigger the company the longer it takes. Just because the target didn't go down right away doesn't mean it was a fail - it takes a while.
  150.
  151. SO THEN the IRC channel got shut down by the VoxAnon admins. Why the hell did this happen? Is it because VoxAnon isn't what they say they are - Anonymous and that they actually don't support the fighting of corruption? Or was it because they were jelly because we had all their users in our IRC and that was the most action the VoxAnon network had in months...?... I'm not sure. Either way that shouldn't of happened and if it didn't happen then the operation probably would of been a success.
  152.
  153. After the IRC got shut down, BethBlog.com still went down! Yes, even without the IRC we managed to take our first target - BethBlog down. Now...for everyone saying "BETHBLOG WAS ONLY DOWN FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS!! 1asdasd!!!!"..Actually BethBlog was down way before it was announced on twitter, AND was down for some time AFTER it was announced on twitter. Bethblog was probably down for 15-30 minutes as I personally watched to see when it would come back up.
  154.
  155. So was this operation a fail? Well remember now, the op came in 3 different parts. Part 1 certainly wasn't a fail, part 2 is on the win/fail mark considereing we DID take down our first target but we then got shut down by VoxAnon...but what about part 3? Did everyone forget about that? We never said how long OpNewSon would last. All we said was that it were to begin on May 25th. We also DID NOT say that part 3 would occur on May 25th, ONLY part 2. Part 3 is still ongoing and leaks should be expected over the summer from the list of targets.
  156.
  157. Why not reschedual part 2? We did think about doing this, and planned on trying the DDoS attacks again the next day. However we felt that we wouldn't have enough support after we got shut down and that not enough people would figure out about the reschedual.
  158.
  159. So that should clear EVERYTHING up about OpNewSon. Journalists/news teams, do a report on this instead of making your own assumptions. Thank you...
