  2. Narrator has connected.
  3. Avara has connected.
  4. Ma-Nyeo has connected.
  5. Grace has connected.
  6. Narrator: So, when you guys decide to go to route 1 or 2 - based on circumstances - here's what I'm going to do.
  7. Narrator: I'm going to make/drop tokens (in case I don't have those pokemon in particular made) and then quickly populate the map.
  8. Narrator: But I won't stat anything until combat happens. It'll delay things a bit - but them's the dice.
  9. Grace: kk!
  10. Narrator: Alright. I think everyone's here.
  11. Ma-Nyeo: yes
  12. Ma-Nyeo: text fixed
  13. Avara: .
  14. DNA: Ohai
  15. Narrator: Anyone want to recap?
  16. DNA: We flew here via Drifblim, visited the Center, and Sarah challenged Kamal to a drinking contest and won beautifully! In the process we learned more about our handler Nadia King.
  17. June 1st, Sunday.
  18. 82 degrees with a 68 degree humidity. It feels hot and humid.
  19. There's an 8mph wind blow north, northwest.
  20. It is raining.
  21. Time: 12:55 PM
  22. Welcome to the World of Pokémon!
  23. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo is sitting still, her eyes darting between the people in the room.
  24. Cassiopeia: "So, now that we have our drinking contest captured in memory for all eternity, what's the next step?"
  25. Ma-Nyeo: "Finding Oak and convincing him to be a professor."
  26. Sarah: Sarah was feeling pretty pumped considering she won a pokemon she's now kinda technically shouldn't be holding legally due to licensing issues. But when's skirting the law ever stopped the gambler? "I was gonna say, yeah. I need a license to hold onto this lil' dude."
  27. Hotaru: "Yes, that's pretty much what we have to do, if we want to get anywhere."
  28. Cassiopeia: "He apparently lives in the manor just east of here. We should probably go there now; if we're lucky, he's just finished lunch."
  29. Narrator: Until you acquire your license Sarah, that Poké Ball containing your Riolu is locked and unable to open.
  30. Ma-Nyeo: "Okay." Ma-Nyeo stands up, sets Miss Mallow on her shoulder and waits for someone to lead the way.
  31. Cassiopeia: "Then, shall we?" Cassiopeia recalls her Beldum and walks towards the door.
  32. Hotaru: "Urigo, could I have directions to the not-yet-a-professor's house?"
  33. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo skips after Cass.
  34. Sarah: That's entirely fair, and she's gonna hold it in her hand, while the foxxo was chililng on her shoulder. "Lets head on out!"
  35. Nurse Joy: "Your blue haired lady was rather accurate with her directions of 'east of town' earlier. It's a Manor. Should be rather easy to spot."
  36. Hotaru: "Alright. Thanks for the confirmation, then. Have a good day and I'll see you later, alright?"
  37. Nurse Joy: "Be careful, Hotaru."
  38. Sarah: "Sounds good! Lets go gang! I'm riding high spirits on good spirits! Hahahaha!" She'll say as she walks out the door chuckling while Suzy held onto her shoulder for balance.
  39. Hotaru: "I will. Thanks for the warning."
  40. Narrator: It's become mid-day by the time you exit the Center and the rain has increased to harsh rain.
  41. * Cassiopeia is walking out at a steady pace, but Sarah with her exuberance will probably be enough to outpace her just a little.
  42. Narrator: (( hold on ))
  43. Narrator: (( okay back. ))
  44. Hotaru: "Haha... been a while since I had to really deal with rain."
  45. Woman 4: Woman 4 blinks as Ma-Nyeo walks by and sneers at her, "What...the?"
  46. Woman 4: Woman 4 performs a double take when Hotaru walks by before waves to her, "U-Uh, hey! Are you a, uh, nurse Joy by chance?"
  47. Ma-Nyeo: "Fwehehe..." Ma-Nyeo laughs nerviously but continues on.
  48. Hotaru: Hotaru stopped, looking over at Woman 4. "Is there something you need? If it's a medical emergency, you'll want to go to the Center."
  49. Sarah: Sarah will pause while lookin' up at the weather and will let out a content sigh as she holds open her arms to enjoy the feeling for a bit. "Aaaah... Can't lie... there's something good about the cool rain in this region..." Hearing the woman's question, she'll motion inside, completely unfazed by the rain now. "Nah ya nit wit, the nurse is in the center! Now git, you look like ya need help." She'll say holding open the door.
  50. Woman 4: "O-oh. Oh no, I'm fine. It's just you look-" Woman 4 clears her throat, "You're not a Joy I've seen here before. Are you...transferring to our Center, by chance?"
  51. Woman 4: Woman 4 blinks at Sarah's comment and motion, "Uhh-no I'm rather used to the rain here." Woman 4 motions to the sky, "Pokemon. Whattaya gonna do, right?"
  52. Hotaru: "I'm actually on my way to Gary Oak's lab, to try and convince him to become a Professor. I want to be a trainer."
  53. Hotaru: "No, it's not a lab yet. But it will be."
  54. Woman 4: Woman 4 blinks taken back by the comment, "A...a Trainer? Joys aren't Trainers. Are...are you sure?"
  55. Hotaru: "..."
  56. Hotaru: "Yes. I'm sure. And yes, Joys can be trainers as much as anyone else."
  57. Ma-Nyeo: "Lets just go, okay?"
  58. * Hotaru raises an eyebrow, looking at the woman.
  59. DNA: ...how do you superscript
  60. Woman 4: (( I'm not sure on that myself! Luckily I haven't needed to. ))
  61. Avara: the reason the left-point arrow doesn't work for heartsing is because it starts scripts
  62. Sarah: Sarah will pause chuckling a little at her foot in mouth situatioin. She was agreeing with this woman's taste in the rain here. Doing a shooing gesture, at the woman, "Come on' Hota! Let's get you the license so you can flash that as proof! Hahaha!"
  63. Woman 4: "What? But being a Trainer is dangerous work. People die in it a lot. A LOT! Have you seen the Hunts Board? It's vicious! A Joy can't - I mean shouldn't - do that kind of labor." Woman 4 says almost scoldingly, "No, no. Pretty ladies like Joys should be saving people and Pokemon in medicine. Isn't that why Jenny's are in law enforcement?"
  64. Woman 4: "It'd be really nice if you, you know, let those other girls go do that dangerous Trainer stuff. Join your...uh...cousin? here at the Center."
  65. * Cassiopeia has noticed Ma-Nyeo start walking away already, so she's trying to catch up - but will keep Hotaru and Sarah within sight.
  66. Woman 4: (( If you're looking for where people are, Grace, they're physically moving their tokens on the road to the east of the Center and talking to Woman 4 just northwest of Hotaru's token. ))
  67. Hotaru: "Ma'am, please stop right there. Trainers do save people, and in fact the idea of having a nurse would increase their chances of saving more people. I never really got much medical training, but I can help people by doing this. Or are you saying the Champion never helped people?"
  68. Sarah: Sarah will be standing between this woman and Hotaru now. "Aight. That's 'nough outta ya! You know da phrase ' Betta ta keep ya trap shut and hide the fact ya thick, radda dan open ya mouth and remove all doubt?' Keep it in mind hun, folks can do what they want!"
  69. Ma-Nyeo: ((if you're standing someone, you have to move your token))
  70. Sarah: Sarah's gonna glare down at this woman trying to hope she steps away. 3+6+3+4=16 (STUNT! 3 Stunt Points)
  71. Woman 4: Woman 4 lifts her finger to correct Hotaru and pauses, "...No, I don't have a good response to that. But you know what I meant when I said what I said. I know what I said and I know you know what I meant by what I said. And what I said I said because it needed to have been said to be heard. You're doing the exact opposite and it's just not right. Hopefully those other girls will help keep your pretty face safe."
  72. Woman 4: (( Intimidate? ))
  73. Sarah: Why don't we go with stunned silence with sarah trying to get this woman to shut her trap, and yee
  74. Woman 4: (( I posted it before noticing! Soz ))
  75. Sarah: (It's all gucci!)
  76. Avara: sarah could step in interrupting woman4's rant there.
  77. DNA: Sarah: at N12
  78. Woman 4: Woman 4 pauses mid-sentence, "HOLY FUCK!" and backs right up away from Sarah.
  79. Woman 4: (( Moving your token Grace because it's oddly not where you should be. ))
  80. Hotaru: "Thank you for interrupting, Sarah."
  81. Sarah: (GAH! The tokens all just moved at once for me!)
  82. DNA: Huh, that's...odd.
  83. * Hotaru looked around Sarah to the Woman 4.
  84. Sarah: (That's why you kept talking about moving my token when on my screen it was Sarah right next to her arleady?)
  85. Hotaru: "As you can see, I do have people watching out for me. And I'm going to watch out for them. So kindly stop insulting my competence and capability."
  86. Woman 4: (( Yep. Did you use the launcher? ))
  87. Sarah: (Yep)
  88. Woman 4: (( AWKWAAAAAAAAAAAARD ))
  89. Woman 4: Woman 4 bites her lip and walks away.
  90. DNA: I used the launcher too. Huh!
  91. DNA: I haven't had any weird blips just yet.
  92. Hotaru: Once Woman 4 has left, Hotaru gives Sarah a hug.
  93. Sarah: Sarah will stop being menacing when the woman backs away. Feeling bigger now, she'll chuckle, and slap Hotaru on the back. "HAHAHA! I like ya spunk! Lets get you that license so ya can rub it litterally in her face next time Hahaha!" She'll say leading the two of them onward. Suzy will lazily pat Hotaru on the head in comfort.
  94. Hotaru: "Glad to see we can stand and fight together. Joys kind of get that thing a lot."
  95. Sarah: "Don't Ah know it. Some of the Nurses on the island kick some folks... or at least mine and my friends out whenever we were causin' trouble! Hahaha!"
  96. Nincada: Nincada chitters at your group as you approach The Tree. > : (
  97. Hotaru: "You're pretty lucky you pulled that stunt here and not in the forest, or--" Hotaru stopped, looking up at the Nincada.
  98. Avara: or down, if it's not in the tree.
  99. Nincada: (( It isn't. ))
  100. Avara: down then
  101. Nincada: This Nincada stands three feet four inches tall.
  102. Sarah: "Oooooh! Lookatcha! You's a big fella for a bug! Haha! Do they stack 'em that tall here a lot?"
  103. Nincada: Nincada tilts his head when the human is excited rather than frightened and steadies himself and chitters at her more.
  104. Hotaru: "Well... sort of? Most pokemon are either the average size, extremely large or extremely small for their species. The inbetweens are kind of rare."
  105. Ma-Nyeo: "Is... is it happy to see us...?"
  106. Sarah: "'Air enough! Let's leave da little bugga alone! Ting looks annoyed at me, and we got stuff ta do! Haha! Peace ya brave lil' ting!"
  107. Sarah: Sarah will continue to wander along just radiating good feels even in the rain.
  108. Narrator: (( Hold ))
  109. DNA: ah sorry
  110. Sarah: Woop!
  111. Fletchling 2: Fletchling 2 aggro's immediately as someone foolishly enters her territory and flies directly at her! 5+1+1+3=10 (STUNT! 5 Stunt Points)
  112. DNA: If that is directed at me, it misses
  113. Fletchling 2: Fletchling 2 flies rigth by Cassiopeia's head just as she steps into the grass.
  114. Hotaru: "Cass, uh... did nobody tell you pokemon are really protective of their turf?"
  115. Narrator: You may quickly exit the grass to avoid initiative and full blown combat.
  116. * Cassiopeia whips her head around to figure out what just flew past her.
  117. Cassiopeia: "Ah! I'm sorry, I didn't notice."
  118. * Cassiopeia takes 1 step back onto the footpath.
  119. Ma-Nyeo: "Wha! Are you okay?"
  120. Man 12: "Hahahaha! Oh man, that was a close one!"
  121. Sarah: "Haha! Yep! Glad we have a 'ting here like back home where roads are no-man's land! Oof, rebuilding caused some friendly tension! Ha!"
  122. Man 12: "Yeah, the Pokémon in towns and cities are still wild. While they don't openly assault use for just being nearby like the Routes and what-not, they'll still pound you for being in the wrong place. Luckily they tend to just enjoy patches of grass or ponds."
  123. Cassiopeia: "That's understandable. I honestly didn't see the birds perching about; I was simply careless. ...I'm fine; thank you for asking."
  124. Hotaru: "... Sarah, I think 'no mans land' refers to places where if you go there, you're dead for sure."
  125. Man 12: "Or places people don't go to often because no one can survive there for extended periods."
  126. Man 12: "But I could be wrong." Man 12 shrugs.
  127. Hotaru: "Probably."
  128. Sarah: "Eh. I'm a wanna be ranger notta teacher! Whatever works! But mah point still stands! Glad ta see I won't be floundering about with the differences here and home tho! Haha!"
  129. Cassiopeia: "This building looks rather manor-ish. I believe this is the place." Cassiopeia looks for a mailbox or a name plate.
  130. Sarah: "Tink this is da place? East and a fancy arse place! Looks about right."
  131. Man 12 whispers: You read "Residence of Oak".
  132. Hotaru: "Try knocking, then?"
  133. Cassiopeia: "Ah, here we are. 'Residence of Oak'. Yes, here we are."
  134. Sarah: Sarah will try out knocking at the suggestion.
  135. When Sarah knocks on the door it pushes open easily on the first tap.
  136. The door opens with a faint creak and a breath of moist pungent air wafts out of the manor over you.
  137. Sarah: Pausing for a few moments, she'll shrug and barge right on in. putting her hands up to her mouth. "OI OAAAAAK IT'S DA GROUP MS. KING SENTCHA FOR DA LICENSES!"
  138. Cassiopeia: "The door was left open and the air smells...old? Something's not right here..."
  139. Cassiopeia: (I know this is a PErception check, but I'm not sure which focus)
  140. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo smells! 5+1+4+5=15
  141. Cassiopeia: I'll go for Hearing 3+2+3+3=11 (STUNT! 3 Stunt Points)
  142. Ma-Nyeo: ((smelling focus))
  143. Sarah: (Not that I'm complaining but what made you pick smelling?)
  144. Hotaru: (( does seem kind of odd for the character ))
  145. Ma-Nyeo: "Smells normal to me."
  146. Narrator whispers: You catch the sounds of something or someone being startled awake by Sarah's outburst.
  147. Cassiopeia: "...I heard someone waking up. ...Was he sleeping? At 1 in the afternoon?"
  148. Heavy thuds can be heard as something, or someone, approaches the door.
  149. Hotaru: "Not that weird if you don't have a job that needs a consistent wake time."
  150. DNA: (I don't really have anything to spend the SP on)
  151. Sarah: (That's fair)
  152. Machamp: Moments later a Machamp standing over ten feet walks into the doorway and looks down upon your group. He looks at you with mild curiousity and utter annoyance.
  153. Sarah: Sarah pauses before giving a low suprised whistle. "Wew lad lookatcha! Man, you're a big fella! Hey, do ya know if Oak is here? We're told ta bother 'im about trainin' licenses!"
  154. Machamp: Machamp frowns at Sarah's entire sentencce before pausing a moment to think.
  155. Machamp: Machamp makes a split decision to allow you entrance and opens the other door for an easily walk-in service. He motions for you to close the doors behind you and then moves lumberingly toward the room where Gary is located.
  156. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo skips in out of the rain!
  157. Hotaru: Hotaru walked in, wringing out her clothes to avoid dripping all over the floor.
  158. Cassiopeia: Cassiopeia nods a polite "thank you" to the doorman before walking quietly inside, shaking her jacket out on the doorstep before entering.
  159. Sarah: Sarah walks in right behind the machop before stoping outside under the lip of the roof. She'll set down Suzy, and both of them will shake dry for a second or two, before she picks Suzy back up replaces her on her shoulder, and walks in to follow th machop fully now.
  160. The Manor is dark and lit only by the filtered light creeping in from the half-lidded blinds on the windows. All the seating has dusty yellow-brown sheets over all of them. Perhaps at one point they were white. The tables are cluttered with papers, bound tomes and textbooks and all the portraits on the walls have been turned around. A standing mirror in the hallway has been turned horizontal.
  161. The walls and floors are covered with a thick layer of dust and none of the living/guest rooms you pass by in the main corridor seem lived in at all. They look abandoned and forgotten.
  162. Ma-Nyeo: "This is a pretty nice place, isn't it?" Ma-Nyeo says to the Machamp.
  163. Hotaru: "I guess he's not really a fan of maid service."
  164. Machamp: Machamp glances behind him to Ma-Nyeo briefly and gives her a look of disagreement and sadness.
  165. Cassiopeia: "Where is Doctor Oak awaiting us?" Cassiopeia asks.
  166. Leading you you down the corridor still you end up at a staircase. He walks around it to a door just underneath it and steps down into an old black iron spiral staircase. It whines to the Machamps every heavy and lumbering step though the structure remains sound...you think. Below is a cobblestone wall basement with a foam-drop ceiling. It's short enough that the Machamp has to bend over just to walk in though his lumbering walk and stance seems to fit the area perfectly. You then realize that he's spent most of his time in this tiny place and it's likely caused that walk to become a habit or condition.
  167. The basement area has a cold stone floor and several old couches and sofas that the Machamp, and various other Pokémon that're currently absent, have spent enough time in to leave bodyshaped indentations in them. The Machamp lumbers over to one of the larger couches and lies down lazily. He motions to the door at the other end of the basement.
  168. Machamp: (( brb. 5m ))
  169. Hotaru: Hotaru walked over to the indicated door, knocking on it.
  170. Sarah: Sarah will be right behind.
  171. Cassiopeia: Cassiopeia can't help but feel a sort of tragic atmosphere about the place. Empathy to figure out what is going through the Machamp's head currently:
  172. Cassiopeia: Empathy 5+1+3+5=14
  173. Machamp whispers: By this point? He's apathetic about the things around him and in a state of self-depreciation.
  174. Narrator: The door opens slowly but silently when Hotaru knocks on it.
  175. Narrator: You can hear murmurs from somewhere deeper in. The door opens to reveal a hill of discarded papers and a travel of book binders torns from papers they once protected. Some of the papers have been trampled so often that the information stored on it has been rubbed off or the papers so damaged nothing can be deciphered. The room is completely dark save for a single brilliant glowing light near the back.
  176. Hotaru: "Hello? Gary Oak, are you still alive in here?"
  177. Narrator: You call into the room but you get no response. The murmurs continue.
  178. Ma-Nyeo: "Is he okay?" Ma-Nyeo peeks in.
  179. Hotaru: Hotaru walked into the room, trying her damndest not to step on anything that isn't already garbage.
  180. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo follows, looking around at all the papers.
  181. Sarah: Sarah will pause looking around, humming about the fact that this guy probably hasn't seen the light in days from the looks of things.
  182. Narrator: Give me a perception seeing or searching Ma-Nyeo
  183. Sarah: Approaching the light in the back, she'll be curious as to what it is.
  184. Ma-Nyeo: Perception (Seeing) 6+1+5+7=19
  185. Cassiopeia: Cassiopeia feels like this house was either abandoned very long ago, or whoever lives here doesn't even venture beyond this room... and the more she sees, the more concerned she becomes.
  186. Narrator: As you approach the light in the back, the murmurs grow clearer.
  187. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo reads the Obvious Events That Led To The End.
  188. Hotaru: Hotaru continues to approach, while trying to figure out what the voice is saying.
  189. Sarah: Seeing as how that's whre the murmurs are coming from, she'll continue to approach. "Ey boss? We're sent to see you about gettin' approved to be trainers...?"
  190. Hotaru: perception hearing 2+4+4+4=14 (STUNT! 2 Stunt Points)
  191. Narrator: "...elling you, something's weird is going on."
  192. Narrator: "It isn't happening again. It's dead. We made sure of that."
  193. Narrator: "There was no body to be found. We couldn't confirm anything. And while the exact signs aren't occuring, something weird is going on. People are seeing strange things. It's almost like Team Rocket is back but...only more thorough in their evil."
  194. Narrator: "The people don't know what weird is. And most of them aren't real Trainers. A pink Charizard would be enough for them to think Giratina himself was planning to raze Kanto. And there was no body because the tower was crushed. It was crushed."
  195. As you approach closer you can see a man sitting in a chair sipping on a bottle of orange juice speaking to a hologram of...the Kanto Champion.
  196. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo is walking up after finishing her reading. She waves to the hologram.
  197. Red: "I'm not trying to open old wounds. I know you went through hell afterward."
  198. Red: Red glances to your group briefly before returning his glare to the man in the labcoat.
  199. Sarah: Sarah will pause not wanting to be rood. She'll wave at the dude when he looks over at her tho.
  200. Gary: "Am. Am in hell. Don't try and act like you can just walk away from this sort of crap."
  201. Red: "We both don't want a repeat of before. We don't need more loss. Think about it, okay?"
  202. Gary: Gary sips his orange juice loudly, "You're asking me to do something I don't want to. My answer is still no."
  203. Red: "Alright, old friend. I'll leave you be. I just hope you don't regret it later."
  204. Gary: "Oh, I'm full of happiness and sunshine here. Can't you see?" Gary motions his juice around, "I bottle it up and drink it down like the spunky little genius the world reminds me I am everyday. And my 'thirty minutes' of fame. Thanks for that, by the way."
  205. Red: "..." Red lingers for a moment before the hologram disperses.
  206. Gary: Gary sighs heavily, "...Damnit. Why do I always act like a jackass around him?" Gary leans back in his chair and facepalms.
  207. Hotaru: "Probably because rivalry dies hard when you're deep in your emotions?"
  208. Gary: Gary spins to his feet and sends his chair flying into a pile of papers nearby. His muscles are flexed and rigid with his eyes focused and narrow, overcome with anger and fear. He doesn't speak, just glares at you with intensity completely foreign of the person you saw talking just moments before.
  209. Hotaru: "Hi. I'm Hotaru Joy. Nadia King sent our group to talk to you, your Machamp agreed to let us in, and we tried calling out to you before we came in."
  210. Ma-Nyeo: "Hi! Your Machamp let us in. You have a really nice house."
  211. Sarah: Sarah just waves at Gary. "Name's Sarah!"
  212. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo ignores the mood and instead looks delighted to be face to face with Gary. She had even made eye contact with Red!
  213. Cassiopeia: Cassiopeia hasn't said anything, and was keeping quietly back a bit waiting for what would happen next.
  214. Gary: Gary continues staring at you for a few moments, his muscles not relaxing until he forces himself to calms enough to be able to have coherent thought and speak mouthwords.
  215. Gary: *huff huff* "No."
  216. Hotaru: "That''s a funny greeting. Try again?"
  217. Gary: Gary's right eye twitched at the dry humor, "No."
  218. Hotaru: "Okay, Mr. No."
  219. You whisper to Narrator: What check would I use to look at the papers around the room and start organizing them neatly?
  220. Hotaru: "I'll do the talking for you, since you obviously don't want to."
  221. Gary whispers: Cunning (Research)
  222. Ma-Nyeo: "H-hey! D-don't be mean to him!" Ma-Nyeo interjected.
  223. DNA: Cunning 3+3+6+3=15 (STUNT! 3 Stunt Points)
  224. You whisper to Narrator: That makes me wonder - Perception Sight(?) as to the contents of the papers.
  225. Hotaru: "'Hi, group of people I hate without any actual reason, my name is Gary Oak. Why are you in my house?' Well, Mr. Oak, to be honest I don't care if you take the professor job. But someone needs to be out there, helping people learn to not die. We're here hoping to get our licenses so we can inspire people to learn how to not-die."
  226. DNA: Perception 2+5+1+3=11
  227. Mike has connected.
  228. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo flusters about beside Hotaru, trying to get her to stop. She eventually stops and turns slowly to Gary Oak, "S-sorry... we were sent here to help... I think..."
  229. Cassiopeia begins organizing the discarded papers.
  230. Gary: "No!"
  231. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo cringes and almost buckles.
  232. Gary: Gary's fist clenches so tightly you can hear his flesh gripping, "And you! Stop touching my work!" Gary shouts at Cassiopeia.
  233. * Cassiopeia hears Gary's demand, and decides to ignore it completely, continuing to organize the papers.
  234. Sarah: Sarah will hum, and will hold up her hands passively. "Alright, alright. Let's just calm down everyone. We're kinda bothering him, and interupting something that's important. Please stop antaginizing the guy we're sent to go see y Ms. King. Hun."
  235. Ma-Nyeo: "O-okay," Ma-Nyeo assumes Sarah's statement was directed toward her and shrinks away.
  236. Hotaru: "You can shout, sure, but you're not going to convince us not to do what needs to be done by just saying that one word over and over. Especially if, from what you and Red were saying, there's something suspicious going on around the Region. Whatever's goig on, someone needs to handle it. You're not doing it, so someone has to."
  237. Gary: Gary spits the straw from his drink onto the floor and holds the glass bottle between both his hands, "Obviously I need to re-educate my Pokemon what 'don't let anyone in' means."
  238. You whisper to Narrator: Any way for me to tell what his papers are about?
  239. Sarah: Sarah will put a hand on Hotaru's shoulder. "Oi, hun that's enough! We're in da man's home interupting a call, and someone keeps trying to organize a person's notes. Sure he might need ta crack a window upstairs and let some light in, but right now, we need to be patient about this." Turning to Gary, "Sir, we're sent here by our handler, Ms. King to talk about aquiring our licenses for training. If you could tell us how to do so we'll be out of your hair much quicker."
  240. Gary whispers: perception seeing or searching
  241. DNA: Searching 2+6+5+3=16
  242. Ma-Nyeo: "Machamp looked really sad. I think he wants you to get help. My Uhnni looked like that a lot, after I finished school and didn't go outside ever."
  243. Gary whispers: You'll find that some of the papers you can see that are still intact refer to the Rayquaza War, the Saviors of Mankind, The Hero and the Obvious Events That Led To The End.
  244. You whisper to Narrator: And it's mostly just those? Not much else, or are those no longer intact?
  245. Ma-Nyeo: "She worked with my papa and after Nadi made her offer I came here to get a license. That way I could be a trainer, or coordinator. It's.. it's kind of a new beginning..." Ma-Nyeo bowed deeply to Gary Oak, "So please become a professor and let me work with you!"
  246. Gary: "Right. This is my home. And if you couldn't get the hint, you're not welcome here. I am not a Pokémon Professor. I don't give out licenses, pokedexes or any other bullshit like that. If you want a license go see that pesky Officer Jenny about it. That's where you go nowadays to get a license when you're ready to go out into the wild and die."
  247. Gary: "And I already told your bitch of a boss no. I don't want or need her help. And I don't want or need yours or want to give you any. Get. Out."
  248. Ma-Nyeo: "...can I become a professor instead?"
  249. Hotaru: "Your pokemon are worried about you. That's probably -why- we were let in. I'd be worried, if oe of my cousins acted like you are now."
  250. Hotaru: "I'll get out of your hair, Oak, but just think about something. What would your grandfather think of you, seeing you like this?" With that, Hotaru turns and leaves.
  251. The sounds of glass breaking echoes in the room. Gary stands there, dead glaring at Hotaru as she leaves. The cuts on his hands and blood dripping to the floor going completely ignored.
  252. Ma-Nyeo: "U-um! Where's the first aid kit?"
  253. Gary: "You - you - You DON'T - DON'T get to do that! You don't get to mention him to me! Not you! Not like that! Get out of my house this instant!"
  254. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo looks around! 4+3+6+5=18
  255. Hotaru: Hotaru is already leaving. She just waves, dismissing his anger.
  256. Narrator: Initaitive will begin shortly. You're given the opportunity to exit before hand.
  257. DNA: Do I have time to produce my first aid kit, or does the first round start?
  258. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo is distracted, not leaving.
  259. Narrator: Whelp, give me a moment to craft a make-shift square of the room for you brave, brave souls willing to stand in the same room as an incredibly pissed of former Kanto Champion.
  260. Sarah: Sarah will pause, a little upset that she couldn't really play mediator at this point, especially with Hotaru hitting below the belt like that. Pausing for a few moments, "She ment it with barbs sir, but I must genuinley ask you think it over... what would he think of your position right now? Ya can't be stagnant in life or things get... ill for the bad." At that, she'll leave as well, trying not to get suplexed by the machamp or the increadilbly pissed expert trainer.
  261. Ma-Nyeo: Point of order: Initiative equals 7
  262. Sarah: Point of order: Initiative equals 6
  263. Cassiopeia: Point of order: Initiative equals 11
  264. Hotaru: Point of order: Initiative equals 12
  265. Miss Mallow: Point of order: Initiative equals 13
  266. Gary: Point of order: Initiative equals 13
  267. Miss Mallow has received initiative.
  268. Miss Mallow: Miss Mallow delays, she doesn't realize there is combat yet.
  269. Gary: Gary is struck by the broken glass when he breaks it for 10 penetrating damage!
  270. Gary : Gary loses 10 health.
  271. Gary : Gary reaches behind his back and grabs a Poké Ball, "I'll teach you to mess with me! You'll regret listening to that woman!"
  272. Gary : Gary chucks the Poké Ball just south of Cassiopeia releasing a Mega Pidgeot.
  273. Mega Pidgeot 1: Point of order: Initiative equals 13
  274. Sarah: wew lad
  275. Mega Pidgeot 1: Mega Pidgeot 1 lands on the ground with its talons with a heavy thud.
  276. Gary : Gary bleeds 4 health.
  277. Gary : Gary loses 4 health.
  278. Mega Pidgeot 1: Mega Pidgeot 1 looks around and then looks to Gary before looking at Cassiopeia. Mega Pidgeot 1 plots maliciously and tilts his head to her as a warning.
  279. Mega Pidgeot 1: 5+4+1+5=15
  280. Mega Pidgeot 1: Mega Pidgeot 1 loses 5 power.
  281. Mega Pidgeot 1: Mega Pidgeot 1 gains 2 Aura for an hour.
  282. Hotaru has received initiative.
  283. Hotaru: Hotaru stopped, turning to face Mega Pidgeot and Oak. "And now you're attacking unlicensed civilians with your pokemon. Which is a crime. You're self-destructing, slowly and without remorse for everyone you're hurtig along the way. Get. Help. Not ours, not Nadia's. Get someone to help with your war trauma and your loss." (comm persuade check, no focus)
  284. Hotaru: 2+3+6+2=13
  285. Miss Mallow: Miss Mallow will take her turn.
  286. Gary : 4+2+1+3=10
  287. Gary : (( Before anything continues Mallow can do a thing. ))
  288. Miss Mallow: Mallow leaps off of her trainer and stands in front of them! She Defends!
  289. Miss Mallow: Done
  290. Gary : Gary boils angrily at Hotaru's words. You earn a turn of respite.
  291. Cassiopeia has received initiative.
  292. DNA: Anything else going on right now? or am I clear to take my turn?
  293. Hotaru: (( clear. ))
  294. Narrator: Oh, in case it wasn't obvious - the green rectangle is the exit.
  295. Cassiopeia: Cassiopeia heard Ma-nyeo cry out for a first aid kit, and immediately neatly set down the papers she was holding. She looked around and noticed Gary's hand bleeding, while also seeing Gary release a giant bird. Looking between the two, she made her decision; she turned to Gary. "Oh! Your hand, it's..." She takes out her first aid kit, and walks over to him, slowly, so it's clear she is not trying to attack.
  296. Cassiopeia: "...Please, let me fix your hand; it's bleeding and the glass will make it worse." She paused a bit, and added. "If you let me bandage you up, I'll leave, no questions asked."
  297. DNA: (that's my minor; waiting on what I may do with a major.)
  298. Narrator: Gary's currently 'omfgdatbitch' so he's unable to stop you from bandaging him. And also from comprehending your proximity.
  299. DNA: I can only use the First Aid action on an ally, so is that really okay?
  300. Narrator: If you wanna, you can.
  301. DNA: I would like to.
  302. DNA: I assume that's the action to take to remove the glass from his hand.
  303. Narrator: It's a heal action. You will stop the bleeding and remove the shards yes. And wrap them. Expert application dependent on your pokemon die.
  304. DNA: Cunning First Aid - TN11 5+1+1+3=10 (STUNT! 5 Stunt Points)
  305. DNA: This is the drawback of being unable to grab the First Aid focus at Level 1.
  306. DNA: But this roll could have been worse so I'll take it.
  307. Narrator: Cassiopeia tries to perform medical aid on Gary's hands but finds his sheer muscle strength a pain in the butt to maneuver them.
  308. Ma-Nyeo has received initiative.
  309. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo was taking a similar action, halfway done pulling out a potion before seeing that Cassiopeia's level head was way ahead of her. She still walks with potion in hand to Cass's side
  310. Ma-Nyeo: Drawing the potion and moving are her two actions. She'll apply it to his hands if she still has the time.
  311. Sarah has received initiative.
  312. Sarah: Sarah's gonna keep one arm on Suzy locking her onto her shoulder. Speaking of Suzy, she was struggling to get free because she actually wants to defend Sarah but she doesn't want this to actually devolve into a random fight. "HOLD ON! Wait wait wait! Let's just help youwith that cut of yours, and we will go. ALL of us will leave no issues. Alright? We'll be going after that arm to go see an officer sir."
  313. Sarah: She'll take a wide legged stance, and hold the other arm out to the side.
  314. Narrator: That doesn't sound intimidating. So, gimme a COMMUNICATION (somethingsomethingmaybe persuasion) here
  315. Sarah: 4+1+1+4=10
  316. Gary : (( Holy crap you're charismatic! ))
  317. Gary : 4+1+5+3=13
  318. DNA: Well, at least the modifier is good
  319. Miss Mallow has received initiative.
  320. Hotaru: (( hotaru's picking up a com focus next level, i think. gonna need it. ))
  321. Miss Mallow: Miss Mallow moves again and Defends! Taking no actions!
  322. Miss Mallow: Well.. Taking the Defend action. Making no Attacks.
  323. Gary : Gary is boiling still.
  324. Mega Pidgeot 1: Mega Pidgeot 1 doesn't want to actually kill a bunch of stupid kids and just waits for the stupid Gary to make stupid orders. This is stupid.
  325. Hotaru has received initiative.
  326. Miss Mallow: ((Does Gary take the bleeding damage still?))
  327. Narrator: Ohyep
  328. Gary : Gary bleeds 7 health.
  329. Gary : Gary loses 7 health.
  330. Hotaru: "You can tell, right? Machamp letting us in to try and make you move, your bird not trying to murder us. They're worried about you, and they're the ones who have had the best chance to see if you need help. Seriously? It's not like it's a shameful thing or whatever, to need therapy after what you went through. All I want is for you to do that. Had to punch your buttons to see where, exactly, your pain was. But like I said, I don't expect you to take his place. Be yourself, just be better than this."
  331. Hotaru: 2+3+3+2=10
  332. Gary : 6+3+2+1=12
  333. Gary : Gary is blinded by rage at the moment to clearly hear you.
  334. Avara: well, he's not flabbergasted next turn. but hopefully the words themselves helped.
  335. Cassiopeia has received initiative.
  336. Gary : (( Gave him a penalty! ))
  337. Gary : (( The dice gods didn't care. ))
  338. Sarah: "YOU'RE NOT HELPING HOTARU."
  339. DNA: Do I need to finish bandaging up his hand?
  340. Avara: gonna keep trying.
  341. Narrator: You may try again.
  342. DNA: First Aid TN 11 4+6+5+3=18
  343. DNA: Much better
  344. Hotaru: "Neither are you, Sarah. Get the others out, leave me to handle this. He NEEDS to face his problems."
  345. Narrator: (( Godsfuckingdamn ))
  346. Narrator: Do you have first-aid talent?
  347. DNA: I have the first-aid kit (so I can do the action), but I can't grab the first aid focus until Level 2. And the first aid talent I think I need the focus to grab it.
  348. DNA: tl;dr: not at this time
  349. Narrator: OKie doke. iirc, it's just Cunning in health restored.
  350. Miss Mallow: Pokemon Die + Cunning, right?
  351. DNA: Die plus Cunning. So in this case, 7.
  352. Sarah: "IT'S TRUE HE PROBABLY SHOULD. BUT WE'RE PEOPLE LITTERALLY MEETING HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME, WHO ARE JUST STARTING, AND ARE LITTERALLY NOT CERTIFIED TRAINERS YET. YE IS, AND WAS A CHAMP FOR THIS REGION. NOW'S NOT THE TIME."
  353. DNA: I'm just doing this because I have a first aid kit. It makes sense.
  354. Hotaru: "This is the only time we'll ever see him, if we leave now."
  355. Gary : Gary is healed and gains 7 health.
  356. Gary : Gary hands have had the glass removed from them and disinfected and bandaged expertly. There was room for improvement but the application looks to be Pokemon Center medical level.
  357. Ma-Nyeo has received initiative.
  358. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo applies Potion to Gary's hands, attempting to heal them further. restoring 6 + his Vitality in HP. With that she heaves a sigh and notices what's going on around her.
  359. Gary : Gary is healed and gains 10 health.
  360. Sarah has received initiative.
  361. Sarah: Sarah will try to motion for the others to start to get going now that he had his bandaging for the moment. "Now let's go! You've said your peice and pissed him off to the extreme! He's in no state to talk, much less talk to us!"
  362. Hotaru: "I'm not leaving until everyone else is out."
  363. Ma-Nyeo: "O-okay!"
  364. Gary : (( Anything else Sarah? ))
  365. Sarah: She's gonna try to pick Hotaru up, and motion for the others to leave. "We're leavin'! Now!"
  366. * Hotaru will contest that.
  367. DNA: PC-PC friction. I love this encounter even more.
  368. Narrator: Alright. Move to her and then make an accuracy test vs her defense.
  369. Sarah: 6+5+6+0=17
  370. * Hotaru is hit.
  371. Narrator: Holy crap that is beautiful with a 0 modifier.
  372. Narrator: Grace is on fire
  373. Narrator: Okay. You both make Strength (Might) tests.
  374. Avara is disconnected.
  375. Sarah: 2+5+3+1=11
  376. Narrator: THE ROLL WAS SO GREAT IT BOOTED AVARA FROM THE SERVER
  377. Sarah: rekt
  378. DNA: rekt.gif
  379. Narrator: I'll roll in place of Avara to keep things moving
  380. Narrator: 3+6+4+0=13
  381. Sarah: nuuuu
  382. Sarah: I mean, my max lift is 400, do I need to roll for that? ;-;
  383. Sarah attempts to pick up Hotaru and escape but Hotaru wriggles free at the last moment
  384. Miss Mallow: Miss Mallow continues to Defend!
  385. Narrator: If you succeed you could literally just pick her up and prance off.
  386. Narrator: But she fought you well enough to make it impossible to do.
  387. Miss Mallow has received initiative.
  388. Miss Mallow: Miss Mallow continues to Defend!
  389. Miss Mallow: That's it.
  390. Avara has connected.
  391. DNA: Hi! Sarah tried to haul you off but was thwarted.
  392. Gary : Gary reclaims his senses enough to try to continue his violent response and notices there are girls all around him right now and, unlike his glorious past of being awesome and surrounded by cheerleaders, this is not at all what he wanted.
  393. Ma-Nyeo: now that's just hurtful
  394. DNA: WAKE UP COVERED IN BITCHES
  395. Gary : "Too deaf or too stupid? Either works if you're picking a fight with a former champ!"
  396. Gary : 3+5+2+7=17
  397. Gary : Gary reaches out and grabs...
  398. Avara: ... his notes out of cass's hands? or did she drop those
  399. Gary : Cassiopeia by the shirt and cocks back a well-trained fist ready to sock her in the mouth when all of a sudden, he notices.
  400. Gary : Gary blinks and looks down at his hands and in that moment, realizes there's blood on Cassiopeia's clothes and also the floor. It is in this moment he's his with realization.
  401. DNA: She set the notes down already, when she grabbed her first aid kit.
  402. Hotaru: (( ok ))
  403. DNA: Does he also notice his bandaged hand?
  404. Gary : Gary let's go of Cassiopeia's shirt and then looks at Ma-Nyeo, his Mega Pidgeot and then Sarah and Hotaru and gives a heavy sigh, "...Fuck. What've I done now...?"
  405. Mega Pidgeot 1: Mega Pidgeot 1 gives Gary a disapproving look.
  406. Ma-Nyeo: "You cut your hand..."
  407. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo goes with the blunt, accurate and completely incorrect answer.
  408. Gary : "Yeah, yeah I...I did." Gary recalls Mega Pidgeot and clips the ball back onto his belt, "I'm...I'm such a moron. Sorry."
  409. Narrator: Initiative is over!
  410. Hotaru: "You proved that you need therapy. Again, not from us or Nadia, obviously. But you do. You're hurting yourself and everyone around you. Trauma doesn't make you an idiot, or anything like that. But it does take control from you. And wars cause traumas."
  411. Hotaru: "You can, and will, be better. But you can't just lie in it and wait to be."
  412. Miss Mallow: Miss Mallow returns to Ma-Nyeo's shoulder.
  413. Gary : Gary looks at Hotaru with annoyance this time and then looks to the floor with the glass and blood, "...You're not wrong. But I don't have to admit you're right." Gary sighs and gently pats Cass and Ma-Ny, "...Whoever touched up my hands...thanks. I honestly don't remember which of you it was."
  414. Ma-Nyeo: "We both helped. Y-You're welcome..."
  415. * Cassiopeia nods in agreement.
  416. Gary : Gary turns his back to your group, "...I still don't want to be a Pokemon Professor. It's a heavy, heavy title for me...a shadow I'm not sure I can step out of or a mountain I can live up to. But..."
  417. Sarah: "When was da last time you got some sleep...?"
  418. Gary : Gary pauses when Sarah asks, "...I...haven't slept since before the war."
  419. Gary : "Mind you, not for lack of trying. I just...haven't been able to sleep. At all."
  420. Hotaru: "You don't have to admit I'm right, no. The only one who can make that decision in the end is you. Listen to your friends and your team. Evaluate and decide for yourself."
  421. Ma-Nyeo: "I'm sorry we disrupted everything..." Ma-Nyeo lifts the notes she had on the Obvious Things, handing it over to him. ".. but everyone makes mistakes. Nobody's perfect. Even the brightest of us. Even back then..."
  422. Hotaru: "I don't want to force you to be professor. Your future is your own to decide on. We were sent to try to convince you, but I never cared about that, to be honest. If we get our license from the station, we're still good. The important part is done."
  423. Sarah: Sarah will stay quiet, considering the other seem to be saying what needs to be said. She wish it was a little less blunt but for right now... it's working.
  424. Gary : Gary looks to the papers Ma-Nyeo had and takes them from her before turning back to Hotaru, "You don't need me for that, no. But..." Gary takes a moment to choose his words carefully, "You are far from the first group to try and convince me. The first from a King though. If you do me a favour I'll give you licenses and a Pokédex."
  425. Hotaru: "What favor do you need?"
  426. Gary : "I was...just as harsh to a girl afew days ago." Gary looks around, "...Maybe worse since...nevermind. She left and got her license from the Police Department and made a point to both show and tell me this. Said she was going to go to Pallet to start her adventure proper in Red's footsteps. Like a true Champion does."
  427. Gary : Gary rubs the back of his head, "And I sort of...told her she was going to get herself killed. The world is harsher than it was when Red and I traveled the region. Pokemon are a much more dominant force nowadays. I haven't heard from her since. And I'm betting she'd be sure to show me her Azure badge the moment she stepped into town."
  428. Gary : "Let me know how she's doing - but don't tell her I asked about her or anything. Do that and I'll give you what you need."
  429. Gary : "Free of charge. Those things are expensive. Hell of a deal, right?"
  430. Cassiopeia: "That sounds like a fair enough trade. What's her name, and what does she look like?"
  431. Hotaru: "That sounds good, yes."
  432. Sarah: "I suppose I couldn't argue against that."
  433. Gary : Gary rubs his chin, "...Pale skin. Fiery kind of hair. Like, bright orange roots with dark orange tips and black highlights. Blue eyes. Irene Lvite."
  434. Hotaru: "We'll look out for her, then, and let you know what we find out. We can just say we heard about another up-and-coming trainer and wanted to see how it was going, since we're on our way to get our stuff too."
  435. Avara: what sort of check might it be to see if we've heard of irene?
  436. Cassiopeia: "Pallet I think is south of here, so we'll have to head that way first. If we're lucky, we may cross each other on the way."
  437. Gary : (( Cunning. ))
  438. DNA: Cunning? You tempt me! 3+3+6+3=15 (STUNT! 3 Stunt Points)
  439. Avara: 4+6+4+3=17
  440. DNA: Well done
  441. Gary whispers: Such a unique appearance stands out. You haven't heard anything but then you're new here and such a thing likely wouldn't hit those on the ports as of yet.
  442. You whisper to Narrator: Makes sense to me.
  443. Hotaru: "Well, I can tell you already that she made it to Pallet."
  444. Gary : "How do you know? Do you even know who I'm talking about exactly?"
  445. Hotaru: "I like my cousins, so I listen when they talk. She's got a pretty unique appearance, right? Someone that looks like what you said has been struggling in Pallet. That's the last I heard."
  446. Gary : "Still, I'd like to see how she's holding up now. It'll give me a good idea of you guys too."
  447. Hotaru: "Yeah, I figured. I just thought you should get to hear she made it there, to tide you over."
  448. Gary : Gary nods and looks at his hands again, "You...uh...should probably go. And I'm...sorry you had to see me like that."
  449. Hotaru: "The best kind of apology is doing better in the future. Good luck, Gary Oak. I look forward to the day you re-earn the middle name Motherfucking."
  450. * Hotaru will now leave.
  451. Cassiopeia: "...It's fine. I wanted to tidy up this place a little, and I happened to glance at a few of the papers... I know what it's like to lose someone you love."
  452. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo nods. She's been on the wrong side of too much tension that she's not going to be speaking for a while.
  453. Sarah: Sarah's usually in the middle trying to stop fights, but this was something that she wasn't prepaired for. So she'll stay quiet next to Hotaru.
  454. Narrator: So, with Hotaru leaving I take it so are other folks?
  455. Ma-Nyeo: Yep
  456. DNA: I believe so.
  457. Sarah: ye
  458. Cassiopeia: "Ah." Cassiopeia turned to Ma-nyeo as they were leaving. "I feel silly for this, but I don't think I got your name earlier. I remember Hotaru and Sarah, but your name is escaping me."
  459. Ma-Nyeo: "Oh. I'm Ma-Nyeo. Ma-Nyeo Abendroth." She replies, her voice still shaking from the tension earlier.
  460. Cassiopeia: "That's a nice name. ...I'm Cassiopeia," she answered, reintroducing herself. "It's a pleasure to have met you."
  461. Ma-Nyeo: "I-It's nice to meet you too." She smiles timidly.
  462. Hotaru: "Depsite the rough first impressions, it's been fun being with you all, honestly. Our team cohesion needs some work, but that'll comee with practice."
  463. Hotaru: "... Hey, Cass?"
  464. Cassiopeia: It takes Cassiopeia two seconds to realize Hotaru was talking about her. "Oh! Yes, Hotaru?"
  465. Mike is disconnected.
  466. Sarah: Sarah will rub the back of her head. "Eh... sorry for tryin' to haul you out of there Hota. Just hoping you can see my thought process on why I did. The guy wasn't in the right mind set."
  467. Hotaru: "Can you give me some training with the medical stuff? I never got much practice at home. I don't want to be a Nurse, but I wasn't kidding when I said I want to help people."
  468. Hotaru: Looking over to Sarah, she shrugged. "I was doing what I thought was best. So were you. I was mostly just upset you weren't hauling Cass or Meow out of the way."
  469. Ma-Nyeo: "I didn't realize what was happening until... well until he did."
  470. Cassiopeia: "Sure, I can do that. I don't know as much as a nurse would, but I know enough to use my first aid kit effectively, so I can tell you what I know."
  471. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo perks up at hearing a nickname.
  472. Sarah: "Well to be fair, it's probalby not a good idea to go pick them up when they're wrapping up the rather... mentally unstable man's hand. I didn't want to interupt that."
  473. Hotaru: "Fair, but they were mostly done by the time he woke up. But--yeah. It wasn't an easy situation for anyone. We got out lucky."
  474. Hotaru: "Anyone have any last-minute chores or shopping before we go Pallet-ward?"
  475. Ma-Nyeo: "I don't think so..."
  476. Sarah: "Nope!"
  477. Cassiopeia: "I believe I am fine. We can press onward and find Irene - and see if there's any business to do in Pallet."
  478. Narrator: Alright. Wanna start next week from where we are?
  479. Ma-Nyeo: ((yes please))
  480. DNA: Sounds good.
