Silas: You’re… Charlotte, right?
Charlotte: That’s riiight! I’m so glad you already know my name! Tee hee!

Char: Ah, I noticed something amazing about you just now! The color of your eyes and the color of your hair are matching! I think that’s just wonderful! Kyun!
Sil: … All right, so what did you actually need?
Char: I’m sorry for bothering you while you’re sooo busy!  There’s just one little thing I wanted to ask you. Is it true that you’re Kamui-sama’s close friend?
Sil: Yeah, it is. We’re close enough that I’d even give up my life for him.
Char: Ahh…
Sil: Why’d you suddenly collapse like that? Are you feeling all right?
Char: I-I’m sorry. You just seemed so gallant that it caused me to swoon. I know! I’ll make you a boxed lunch some time!
Sil: …How did the conversation even get here? There’s no reason for you to make me any lunches.
Char: But there is! I just want you to know more about me, Silas-san…

Charlotte: Silas-saaaaan! I made you lunch!
Silas: All right. Thanks. I was feeling hungry anyway.
Charlotte: Uh, umm… Actually, before that, there’s something I want to make sure of.
Silas: Okay.
Char: You said that Kamui-sama’s your close friend, riiight?
Sil: Yeah. What else am I supposed to say here?
Char: But I heard a rumor that Kamui-sama doesn’t think of you the same way…
Sil: Huh?
Char: To be accurate, I heard that since it’s been so long since you’ve seen each other, Kamui-sama doesn’t even remember you! What do you think about that?
Sil: I was a friend to Kamui when we were younger… But I couldn’t exactly visit the castle very often, so it’s not that unusual for Kamui to not remember me. Still, that doesn’t change the fact that we’re close friends.
Char: Stop, stop, stooop!
Sil: W-What?
Char: You couldn’t visit the castle very often? Silas-san, you’re not royalty, are you?
Sil: Yeah, I’m not.
Char: … Tch! And I even spent time making a lunch for you. This whole thing was just a big waste of time.
Sil: Huh?
Char: Since I heard you were Kamui’s close friend, I thought you’d be royalty. I guess I was wrong. Now you’re worth absolutely nothing.
Sil: Ch-Charlotte…?
Char: You’re not getting my lunch because you’re not royalty.  Just go eat grass or something.
Sil: You’re right, I’m not from royalty, and I might look kind of plain, but I’m technically from a noble family.
Char: … … H-Huuuh?! That’s amaaazing! Here, Silas-san, eat up!

Silas: Charlotte, can I talk to you?
Charlotte: W-What is iiit?
Silas: We need to have a serious chat. I can tell that there’s some kind of problem lingering in your heart.
Charlotte: …Huh? A probleeem?
Sil: Yeah. Your personality changes too suddenly. There’s obviously some kind of problem there, and a serious one. But don’t worry, it’s nothing to be ashamed of. If you stand and face your own feelings, I’m sure you’ll be able to work this out. I’m not about to just sit back and let a comrade go through trouble, so I’ll be here for you until the end of this.
Char: …
Sil: Have a seat. Let’s start by talking about your childhood.
Char: …What?
Sil: We’re here to find out why you’re so troubled. I’m going to take this very seriously, so just relax and talk to me.
Char: … A-All right, then.
Sil: Start with telling me about your birth.
Char: I was born into a normal household, normal meaning that we weren’t particularly wealthy.
Sil: Did anything about that leave you unsatisfied?
Char: I wouldn’t say unsatisfied… But sometimes I’d see the royals passing by, looking as wonderful as they do, and I’d wish that I could live that kind of lifestyle. I wanted to make things easy for my family. I polished my skills with weaponry and became a soldier so I could eventually climb to the top.
Sil: I see. I think I understand you a bit better. In order to move higher in the ranks, you have to focus on distinguishing yourself on the battlefield, but in order to do that, you’d have to abandon the ladylike side of yourself. That side of you was suffering, so you had to create a new, warped personality in order to deal with your dilemma. So, did I get it right?
Char: I-I guess… It’s something like that.
Sil: If that’s the case… then I think I like you a lot better now.
Char: Huh?
Sil: Since we’re both trying to climb the ranks, I sympathize with you.
Char: I-I see…
Sil: All right. Let’s start from your childhood again.
Char: Huh? We’re still doing this?
Sil: Of course. This time we’re going after every little detail. We’ll dig out every little bit of darkness in your heart, together. Now, talk to me.

Charlotte: What did you want to talk to me about? Are we going to talk about my childhood again?
Silas: No, not today. Actually… I want you to listen to me today.
Charlotte: Huh? Me listen to you?
Silas: That’s right. But before that… I want you to have this.
Char: It’s… a ring?
Sil: Charlotte. I want to marry you.
Char: … Whaaaaaaaa?!
Sil: If you’ll have me, that is...
Char: … O-Of course I will. Even leaving out the part that you’re a noble, you’re still a wonderful person…
Sil: I’m glad to hear you think that way about me.
Char: But is this really all right? We haven’t solved the problem of my two personalities.
Sil: I’ve changed my mind about all that. I don’t think you’re troubled at all, so you’re fine as you are. That other side of you is part of what’s so charming about you.
Char: …Are you complimenting me?
Sil: Of course! A tree that grows straight up might be pretty, but twisting ivy can be just as beautiful. Humans work the same way.
Char: …Are you saying I’m like complex, twisting ivy?
Sil: Complex people have a lot to them. I’d never get tired of spending my life with you.
Char; I-I get it, already… I’m a little incompetent, but please take care of me… I’ll make sure you’re never bored.
Sil: All right. Let’s enjoy ourselves until we’re old and withered. I’ll do my best to make sure you enjoy yourself, too.
