  1. Narsol:
  2. Long, long ago, when the wild was still raw and filled with unfathomable beasts, Narsol ruled over a massive kingdom, and all was good.
  3. But Narsol ruled over every aspect, he had all the power. He was the king, and they were his subjects. The kingdom was bigger than any other that came before it, and a small group of people began to believe that the kingdom would be better off divided, each with its own governments made by the people and for the peple. They believed that just one person, even a god, couldn't manage every aspect of the kingdom by himself
  4. The group banded together and stripped Narsol of his divinity, and cast him into the chaos of the primeval wild.
  5. Narsol returned many years later, once again filled with divine power, only to see that his once mighty kingdom had fallen apart.
  6. The road to hell is paved with good intentions; the group that overthrew him each claimed ownership of a part of the kingdom, and each tried different ruling methods, under the agreement that once the best way to rule had been found, the rest of the kingdoms would adapt that style. But the seed of greed had been planted into their minds, and the idea that if something wasn't completely perfect then the ruler could just be overthrown had tainted their minds. Each ruler failed and was immediately overthrown, only to be succeeded by someone more and more ruthless.
  7. Narsol wept at the sight of his dystopia. As he walked through the streets he came upon a poor child, starving and hungry. He cut his flesh, and let the child drink from his wound. The child became strong and thanked him.
  8. He continued on, and met a begging man, blind from disease. Narsol plucked his eyes from his head and gave them to the man so that he could see. The man thanked him.
  9. He continued on, giving up his body to cure individuals until he came upon a ruler in the kingdom. The ruler was greedy, and had heard of Narsol's generosity. He demanded to feed on Narsol, so that he too could become divine.
  10. Narsol had no more tears to shed, and very little left to give, but he agreed, on he condition that each of the kingdom's rulers would participate, and he offered himself in the center of the kingdom. Those who once followed Narsol descended upon him once again, stripping him of, and devouring his flesh, grinding his bones into dust, and drinking his blood. Those who participated in this feast soon fell ill, their skin rotting away from their bodies, their blood turning to ash, and their bones melting into black sludge. Those who ruled the kingdom were killed, and for the only time that anyone could remember, there were no rulers. The kingdom was broken forever, and its citizens escaped its walls and ran into the wild, never to return.
  11. Narsol only had two things left to offer: Forgiveness, and death.

  14. Kagran:
  15. Kagran was born a simple goblin. He wasn't the strongest goblin, or the biggest, but he was the smartest. Unfortunately, being smart doesn't' get you anything in goblin culture, so he was routinely kicked around. He was thrown into a band of other goblins to form a scouting party to investigate a mysterious man who was within the goblin's territory.
  16. The man was a dark wizard, attempting to summon a powerful demon by the name of Kagran. The dark wizard laughed as the goblins barged into his ritual room, and immediately killed 8 of the 10 goblins with the flick of his wrist. The simple goblin and his companion were agile, and managed to barely avoid the scorching fireball, and began openly mocking the dark wizard. Furious, the wizard began the casting of a new spell, just as his ritual completed itself. Kagran emerged from the portal, and skewered the distracted dark wizard with a vicious claw. Unfortunately, the demon remained trapped within the ritual circle even after the wizard's death, and after countless hours of attempting to read, the simple goblin managed to cast a powerful spell from the dark wizard's spellbook, slaying the demon. The simple goblin inadvertently cast precisely the spell the dark wizard had intended to cast, a spell that would kill the demon and transfer its powers to himself. The simple goblin absorbed the demon's dark energy, growing and becoming fiendish. Now that the simple goblin was the smartest AND the strongest, the simple goblin took the demon's name as his own- Kagran.
  17. Kagran revived his fallen goblin bretheren, and returned to his home brood, declaring himself the new leader. Throughout his life he slew demons and devils alike, absorbing their power through the dark wizard's spell and becoming more and more powerful, but as he grew stronger, demons and devil gave him less and less power each time, until he got nothing from their absorption. He had hit the ceiling on his mortal ability. There was only one option left, and he was confident that it could be done. He would become a god.
  18. He was successful, and ascended to divinity, and used his powers to slay and more minor gods and greater demons to expand his domain, but now sits disillusioned and bored, having once again reached the limit of his powers, and ruling over a domain he has no interest in.
  19.
  20. Kagran, to most, is nothing more than his domains prayed to for harvest, or prayed to in secret for revenge, and greed.
  21. But to the goblins, Kagran represents true success. He overcame his shackles, he took what he wanted from those more powerful than him, and he never let anything stand in his way.
