  1. Armatus, a planet in the Leonid System*, is a relatively sparsely populated garden world. Populated primarily by Salarians and Turians, the Asari also maintain a notable presence on the planet.
  2.
  3. Armatus is primarily a research planet. The planet, a relatively pleasant- albeit rather cool- planet with a habitable atmosphere and typically non-dangerous fauna and flora, is an idyllic planet. However, due to the planet's scarcity of habitable land- there are only three continents of any significant size, with the planet's surface being made up of over 85% water- the planet holds little interest to most races.
  4.
  5. For the most part, Armatus has been a quiet planet, with few incidents happening; the most notable events of recent years have been several pirate raids, fought off by the local Turian peacekeeping force, and several fights between visiting Krogan mercenaries searching for prototype armours rumoured to be made on the planet**.
  6.
  7. The primary focus of the planet is on scientists and researchers. However, there are entire cities built to accomodate the families of these same scientists. Due to the planet's distance from usual shipping lanes, many farming communities have also come into existence, providing food for the Salarians, Turians and Asari on the planet.
  8.
  9. Due to the lack of conflict, the Turian peacekeeping force on the planet has unfortunately lost its honed edge, allowing several of its ships to fall into lamentable states of disrepair- although make no mistake, the Turians are still dedicated to their duties. The Turians, numbering in the low thousands in force, are dedicated to their job of keeping the peace on this planet. To support them, they have several frigates and corvettes, often used to transport troops and fight off invading pirates. There is no notable advanced technology amongst these Turians, however.
  10.
  11. * Named after the Leonid Dynasty of the Byzantine Empire; Armatus was the nephew of the last member of the Leonid Dynasty, referencing its place as the furthest of the planets from the sun.
  12. ** It is said that many of the researchers and scientists on Armatus have a military bent to their research. However, there is no proven link, and nobody on the planet has confirmed the existence of any bases dedicated to military research.
