  1. Rough Outline of The Regulator: Tech Demo. Story is meant to last players about 1-2 hours of gameplay.

  3. Act 1:
  4. Thomas Clery is escaping a recent outbreak in the Upper New York town of Lake Placid. The town was initially a safe zone, due to it's small size and cold climate, but has recently fallen to the zombie epidemic. Thomas runs through snow-covered forests and hills, climbs icy rock walls, and traverses frozen rivers in an attempt to escape the super-horde that has amassed in Lake Placid and is spreading out from there. Thomas's run stops as he arrives at the Whiteface Mountain ski resort.

Act 2: Arriving onto one of the many ski trails at Whiteface, Thomas finds that the mountain is teeming with Undead and hostile survivors, members of a Cult who are searching for certain people to act as human sacrifice in order to end the apocalypse. Thomas only uses his knife in an attempt to make his way through resort to the main lodge at the bottom of the mountain. He avoids walkers, cult patrols, and sharpshooters riding the still active chairlifts. As he makes his way down, he hears a guard mention a "Regulator" who's been traveling the apocalyptic world. Another guard brushes it off, calling it fantasy talk.

  8. Act 3: Thomas enters the main lodge quietly through a side door, only to be immediately assaulted and have his head smashed against a wall. Thomas comes too and is confronted by a young man, Andrew, a young boy, Ivan, an older woman, Monica, and younger woman, Amy. Andrew explains that the three of them were there to check the Mountain for any kind of supplies, but didn't expect the cult to be there and are currently trapped in the lodge do to the guards. All four, however, want to deal with the cult before leaving. Thomas, in turn, gains their trust by alerting them to the super horde currently in Lake Placid. Thomas agrees to help them, and he and Andrew set in motion a sequence of events that attracts all the walkers and guards to the main lodge.

  10. Act 4: Thomas helps defend the main lodge. He builds and repairs barricades, points out enemies to the other survivors, helps up injured survivors, and generally defends the building in an effort to clear the mountain of the cultists and walkers. Amy is killed, but the rest of the crew survive. Andrew interrogates a man, calling himself the Regulator, and demands to know where the cult leader is. The man tells them she's at the booth at the summit, and Andrew shoots him in the knee but leaves him alive to "send a message".

  12. Final Act: Fearing any more losses after Amy's death, Andrew tells Ivan and Monica to head back to Keene, where they have a substantial amount of survivors. Andrew tells Thomas he can go too, but Thomas opts to stay. The two ride the gondola up the mountain, and then fight the undead the rest of the way up the mountain. They reach the summit and face "The Prophet", a crazy woman hiding out in the summit's chairlift booth. She sends her remaining cultists, "armored zombies", "Suicide zombies", and "Controlled zombies" to fight off Andrew and Thomas. The two fight through her forces and confront her. Andrew initially plans to execute her, but gives Thomas the option. Thomas kills her, and Andrew invites him to come back to Keene with him. Thomas accepts.

  14. Epilogue: Andrew and Thomas walk along a snow covered road as the sun rises. Andrew mentions to Thomas how "The kids we'll like you, can't say much for the adults though. Nick in particular." As they walk, The Bedlam steps out of the woods behind them and stares.
