Abilities: Rumors in the undergound of cities internationally speak of the Grinder. A vicious man afflicted with a terrible curse that forces him to drain the life of his foes or be drained himself. He is also spoken to have a strange affiliation with insects.

Attire: Wearing a patchless bomber jacket, casual jeans, expensive looking, though bloodstained basketball shoes, a necklace with human and mobian teeth, and a painted gas mask, depicting a spider with a black body and orange abdominal mark, Grinder’s visage is terrifying. His hands are wrapped in tape of some sort, whether it be batting practice tape or boxing is undetermined. He stands tall and is approximately six foot five, weighing an unknown weight, but assumed to be near 200 pounds. He is often seen carrying a medium sized metal pipe, the rounded edge is corroded and dark brown, nearly crimson stained by blood. Though he can speak, he chooses not to, only using a tape recorder tied to the same energies that bind him to his curse, allowing him to use a single button to play numerous lines in which he can speak with, most of them are from documentaries or language learning programs. He is also known to have a raspy wheeze.

Curse Effects:

Life Drain: With each strike or physical trauma dealt to a target, Grinder can potentially drain the same relative amount of damage done to a foe and restore his own wounds.

Mortality Steal: An equally scary ability is that Grinder can steal one’s mortality, effectively extending his own life upon killing another.
Terrify: A piercing aura that pulses at will, those who are hit have a chance to experience deep, sudden fear. It is relatively strange to resist, as you must be brave enough to fight through fear to be able to stop this effect.

Powerhouse: Grinder’s abilities exceed that of an average human, and even those of beyond average Mobians. He can lift around 300 pounds of an enemy with difficulty, and his own bodyweight easier.

(Mostly) Bulletproof: Though Grinder is a bit weaker to melee attacks than normal, he is able to shrug off lower-power bullets, and even take larger ones and keep going.

Unrelenting: Highly resistant to pain, Grinder rarely shows mercy and can constantly move forward, even when hit by powerful blows.

Techniques:

Overhead: Swinging his pipe overhead, Grinder can potentially cause severe bruising or in somewhat rare cases broken bones! It’s a telegraphed attack, so it’s easy to dodge.

Strangle: Having done this in the past, Grinder is not perfect, but adept enough to know how to strangle those who are larger or smaller than he is with the aid of his pipe.

Counterattack: With a swift upward motion of the pipe, Grinder can deflect melee attacks and counter with terrifying efficiency, but only if the attack is telegraphed first.

Vicegrip: Grabbing his foe with a single hand, Grinder can lift a foe by the neck, providing they are smaller or the same size as him, and choke them, kicking and flailing will work, and getting away from it is rather easy.

Weaknesses:

Unrelenting Drawback: As a result of being resistant to pain, Grinder will often take large sums of damage, and some that can force his ability to end!

Melee-Oriented: Being oriented towards Melee fighting, Grinder hardly ever uses guns, meaning ranged attacks can keep him at bay… Until he catches up.

Cold Hearted: Completely cold-hearted, Grinder gives no regard to any emotion or any sort of belief in karma, he only focuses on getting his job done.

Refusal to Surrender: Grinder, even when odds are perfectly stacked against him, refuses to surrender, and thus can spell his end if he is careless.

Speed Limit: About the same as your average human

Power Limit: Being able to tote an upwards of 280 to 300 pounds, and overhead pipe strikes that can break bone, Grinder is a tough man, and a powerful fighter. He is more resistant to bullet and projectile attacks than he is melee attacks, but he can take both, but dish out the latter.

Bio/History: No one is really sure where Grinder actually came from. The stories spun about him, which none are confirmed, state that Grinder was originally a Mob goon back in the 1950’s, but soon died on his first job, an ethereal creature feeling sorry for him brought him back to life with the abilities he holds now. Two things are for certain about him nowadays. He doesn’t speak, and he gets jobs done with peak efficiency.

Relationships: None

Personality: Stone cold and unforgiving. It’s hardly even present if he HAS a personality. His methods of killing, however, show his methodical and highly strategic thought process and his psychological manipulation of the enemy’s fear. He has been known to turn on his allies and eliminate them if they become problematic. He has a soft spot for those who are equally as psychologically scarred, and will play other tapes from his recorder to ease their pain. Grinder has been seen once allegedly cradling a small child, before returning him to his mother. Maybe there is still a person inside..?
