  1. Part I
  2.
  3. It was a very rainy afternoon in Echo Creek. Water was falling from the sky through drops as thick as a marble. Needless to say there wasn't a lot of entertainment available for the members of the Diaz residence, other than TV, which signal was kind of funky anyways due to the heavy rain, board games, or just napping. None of those options appealed to Marco and Star, who were wasting their time throwing a tennis ball across the girl's bedroom.
  4.
  5. However this activity was turning a little tedious for her, and her frustration was visibly growing in her face.
  6.
  7. "Come on, Marco. Let's do it." Star begged. The boy rolled her eyes as he carelessly caught the tennis ball.
  8.
  9. "Star, I think I was very clear about this situation when we last talked about this, AKA three minutes ago."
  10.
  11. "I'm telling you, Marco. It's going to be FINE. I've tried a couple of times yesterday and it worked perfectly...60% percent of the time." She wasn't even sure of this number herself. In fact she knew it was way lower than that.
  12.
  13. The problem in question goes way back to the week before. The Diaz' Laundry Sunday. Big piles of clothes go to the washing and drying machine every Sunday at 5:25 PM. The repetitiveness of this particular chore has turned the Diaz's into auto-pilot mode. Everyone drags their gigantic bag of clothes down the basement, separate them by whites and darks and hand them over to Angie for her to do her thing. However, that day, Angie wasn't 100% committed to the task, and forgot to check every single pocket in Star's jeans(Did I mention she got a brand new, wicked pair of jeans?).
  14.
  15. "Ms. Diaz!" Star came tumbling down the stairs, "I can't find my dimensional scissors, and if I don't find them I'm going to literally die! Have you seen them?"
  16.
  17. Ms. Diaz shook her head, drifting back from auto-pilot mode. "No, honey, I don't think I've seen them. When did you last use them?"
  18.
  19. "Yesterday, at the mall, when we came back here...OH GOSH STOP THAT THING!" Star rushed to the washing machine, smashing random buttons hoping that one of them would do the trick, "I NEED TO GET THEM OUT OF HERE STOP YOU HORRIBLE ROBOT THING!"
  20.
  21. Ms. Diaz tried to grab Star and pull her away from the machine before she broke anything, "Honey! Honey, I'll do it! Just give me one...second! Humph!" She managed to get her away and pushed the emergency stop button. "Dear, what in the world is wrong with you!?
  22.
  23. "The scissors! They are still in my jeans!" Star rummaged through the pile of clothes, throwing them back at Angie, "Here they are! Please work, please work, please work, please work..." Star opened a portal using the wet and soapy scissors. A fireball flew from the portal, before Star instantly closed it in panic. "Hehehe...that's...that's what I was going for. No need to worry...WellthanksMissDiazI'mjustgonnagonowseeyabyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" Star rushed upstairs hoping to avoid any confrontation.
  24.
  25. Marco wasn't convinced of this by one second. She could see the lie through her face. "Star, using faulty equipment, ESPECIALLY when this particular piece of equipment can get you KILLED, it's a horrible idea. We shouldn't go through any portal until you're 100 percent certain it's back to normal."
  26.
  27. "URGH! Fineeeeeeeeeee." Star threw the tennis ball harder than usual and turned her back to Marco. She turned back immediately as soon as she heard the sound of broken glass.
  28.
  29. "Star!," Marco complained, "you broke the freaking window! What the heck is even WRONG with you!?"
  30.
  31. The princess felt a seriousness in his tone she had never heard from him before, "Geez, Marco. I'm sorry. If it makes you feel any better I can just fix it back up with magic. No need to get overworked about it."
  32.
  33. "But that's the thing with you, Star! You can just do whatever the heck you want, and not take any responsibility for them because you can just 'fix it back up with magic'. That's not how things work! Or at least they shouldn't." Marco realized his bitterness and decided to just law down face first in Star's bed. "I'm sorry, Star," Marco talked through the mattress, "It just that you...me, sometimes it just feels unfair you can do all that stuff. I don't blame you; If I could just zap problems away I would probably do it too. But you understand what I'm saying right?"
  34.
  35. Star zapped the window backed into place before answering him. "Well, so-sso. Before I had the wand I had the servants who took all the responsibility for me, so I guess I can't relate to you there. But I get it."
  36.
  37. "Hey," Marco lifted his head from the bed and turned his face to her, "you know what...Let's do it. Let's go somewhere. If you think you can do it, you'll do it."
  38.
  39. "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!" Star jumped on the bed out of joy and landed on top of Marco's back, "Oh, there's this great place in the Dryland dimension, it's this BIG indoor waterpark that's totally incredible! They also sell some amazing milkshakes for some reason but who cares, milkshakes!"
  40.
  41. "Star...you're crushing me...ow!"
  42.
  43. "Oh, I'm sorry Marco," te girl quickly got off of the boys body, making him let out a painful groan, you know, Mewman bones, really heavy stuff. Are you okay, Marco?"
  44.
  45. "Yeah...I'm good...ish." Said Marco, in between coughing and panting, "see, this is what I'm talking about, Star. You've GOT to be more careful. One day you're going to cause something horrible and magic won't be able to solve it."
  46.
  47. "Yeah? Like what?"
  48.
  49. "Oh gee, I don't know, KILL ME?" Marco noticed he was derailing into anger again and stopped himself from saying anything worse, took a deep breath, and continued, "My point is, do you promise you'll be more careful in the future? Please?"
  50.
  51. "Okay Marco, whatever you say," there was a hint of irony in her voice, "I promise I won't be train wreck from now on."
  52.
  53. "I'm serious, Star."
  54.
  55. The girl closed her eyes and sighed, "I promise I'll be more careful in the future." This time it sounded a lot more genuine.
  56.
  57. "Thank you, Star. Well, we probably need to start getting ready for the trip. Go ask my mom, she'll tell you where all the towels and sunscreen and other pool stuff are."
  58.
  59. "I don't need sunscreen, Marco."
  60.
  61. "Star, in the 1-through-10 whiteness scale you're somewhere around the Third Reich. You'll fry out there at Dryland if it is what I assume it probably is."
  62.
  63. "No, I'm saying that Mewman skin is very resistant against the sun. I'll be fine."
  64.
  65. "Alright then," Marco started heading to the door, "I'm gonna go get my stuff. But don't come crying to me when you end up looking like a beef hotdog when we come back."
  66.
  67. "I WON'T." The girl playfully grabbed a pillow and threw it at him, missing horribly.
  68.
  69. Marco turned back and peaked around the door, "You know, for a combat trained princess, you're a terrible thrower."
  70.
  71. "Go away! Or else it won't be a pillow what I end up throwing at you, Marco!" The boy winked at her smugly and headed for his room to start making preparations for the trip. Star, in the other hand, decided that her time would be better spent taking a nap on her bed and do those things five minutes prior to it. Besides, in her mind, the only thing she needed was a swimsuit. Anything else she could just make up on the spot. Heck, even the swimsuit she could just spawn with magic. However going outside naked was probably a bad idea.
  72.
  73. The princess' nap lasted about an hour. By that time Marco had his things packed up and ready to go. "Come on ,Star!" Marco called for her from his room, "If we don't go now, we won't be able to spend much time over there! We have school tomorrow, remember!? Star!?" The girl did not answer. Marco lost all patience and decided to go check on her. He found her completely lost in her sleep, still in her nightgown, not a single thing packed.
  74.
  75. "Star! I told you to get ready, what the heck have you been doing this entire time!?"
  76.
  77. "W-wha-what...oh, hi Marco...what's up?" Said Star, slowly waking up.
  78.
  79. "You were supposed to be getting ready to go, Star, not just sleeping around doing nothing. I thought YOU were the one that wanted to go. You pushed me all day to do this and now I'm the one that needs to push you around. You know, I was perfectly fine just throwing a ball around. I could do that by myself if I wanted to."
  80.
  81. "No no no no no no!" Star rapidly jumped off the bed and ran around opened her cabinets trying to find her swimsuit, "I'll be ready in one minute don't worry!". After throwing a mirage of clothes around, she finally found her swimsuit. She was just about to take off her nightgown completely before she realized Marco was still standing six feet away from her. "Erm...Marco...I'm gonna change...so yeah..."
  82.
  83. "Hurry." Said Marco with a flat tone. He sighed and turned back to his room to double check he had all the stuff he needed for the trip.
  84.
  85. "Well that was awkward," Star talked to herself while she changed into the swimsuit, "something is up with him today, it's like he's whining at every little thing I'm doing today. Wait, I think I've read about this before during science class, when humans sometimes get really moody and start to bleed out for some random reason?...Oh yeah, period. Marco is on his period! Oh well, I think it would be best to try not to upset him too much today. Human hormones, pfft."
  86.
  87. Star finished up changing and knocked on Marco's door to let him know she's ready. Marco opened the door and let her in. She only had her one-piece swimsuit and a pair of sunglasses on her, which concerned him.
  88.
  89. "Star, where's all your stuff? Are you only taking that?"
  90.
  91. "Of course, Marco! I don't need a back full of random things I don't need. We are just going to a water park, and if anything, I can just come back here very quickly if I need something. Stop being such a bore, Marco."
  92.
  93. "Alright then, Star. I trust you to be responsible. I guess you can open the portal now so we can go."
  94.
  95. "Oh shoot, the scissors! I almost forgot them, be right back!" Star ran to her room and back, "okay, ignore that just happened, let's go for real now!" Star opened a dimensional portal that lead to a gigantic desert. However, Dryland seemed like a fitting name for a place like this, so Marco didn't question it.
  96.
  97. "See, it worked! Dryland! I told you it was going to be fine!...Oh, can you keep this in your bag, Marco? I don't have a place to put it."
  98.
  99. Marco frowned at her, "This is what you bring a bag for, Star." He took the scissors and placed them in the back pocket of his bag.
  100.
  101. "Come on, Marco! We don't have all day, you said it yourself! Star grabbed his hand and pulled him inside the portal. As soon as both teens entered the desert, the portal close behind them.
  102.
  103. "So, where's the thing, Star? All I see is sand."
  104.
  105. "Huh, whenever I came here I usually landed somewhere relatively closed to the entrance. It seems that we are going to have to walk for a little bit. Follow me, Marco, I know the way." The girl happily skipped away.
  106.
  107. However, Marco was not buying any of this. There was not a clue in the desert that could lead Star anywhere. Just endless amounts of sand. He started to think that she might lead them into a different desert. But it was too early to jump into conclusions. He did promise to trust her, so for now, that's what he was going to do, follow her lead. Yet he couldn't fight away that feeling of being lost, and it was only a matter of time before that trust was to collapse.
  108.
  109. Part II
  110.
  111. Star noticed that Marco wasn't following her. She turned around and saw him getting some towels out of his bag.
  112.
  113. "Marco, what are you doing? We still haven't made it to the water park. Do you SEE any water around!?" Star pointed at all the sand around her.
  114.
  115. "Yes, I know. They are not for water tho, I'm using them to cover my body from the sun. You should too, Star...oh wait, you didn't bring anything, whoops."
  116.
  117. "Marco, I told you before but I'll say it again. I don't need protection, my skin can take it." Star sounded as confident as it gets.
  118.
  119. However, maybe she shouldn't have been so sure after all. After half an hour of walking, Star wasn't moving like she normally would. Her skin was turning redder and redder by the minute, but she was determined to not give in to Marco's advice. That would be admitting defeat, and Mewmans do NOT admit defeat at any cost. Marco noticed her, but he didn't show any empathy for her. Instead, Marco was more bothered by the fact that they had been walking for thirty minutes and there was still no sign of them getting closer to the water park.
  120.
  121. "Star, where the heck are we? You said you knew the way, but I'm very confident I've seen that rock over there before. We are lost aren't we?" Said Marco, running out of patience.
  122.
  123. Star slowly turned to him like a truck, she didn't want to cause friction on any part of her body. "We're almost there Marco...just a little longer...Just be patient with me...Yeah, we're lost." Star tried to lower her head in sadness but immediately brought it back up because of the sunburn sting.
  124.
  125. Marco sighed and slapped himself in the forehead. He was absolutely ready to go berserk on her, but again managed to keep his composure and remain calm, "Star, just take us back home, would you? We'll try this some other day."
  126.
  127. "Yeah, you're right...I'm sorry, Marco. I just wanted to do something different..." She carefully extended her hand so the sunburn doesn't sting. Marco reached into his backpack and handed her the dimensional scissors. She hesitated for a moment, and opened a portal to get back home. However, that dimension didn't look at all like Earth, unless Earth was made out of floating crystal squares of a variety of sizes. Before Marco could say anything, she closed that dimension and tried again. This time it led to the Mewni slums, and who on Earth would want to go there, so she closed it again. She tried multiple times, opening portals to ridiculous dimensions that had nothing to do with home.
  128.
  129. "Star, the scissors are broken, stop before something dangerous comes up!" Marco warned her.
  130.
  131. "It's okay, Marco! You've got to trust me on this one!" Star continued to open random dimensions frantically.
  132.
  133. "Star, I don't trust you anymore!" As soon as he said that, Star opened a portal to a literal war zone. Two parties of Aliens going at each other over control of a mine or something. Rockets and lazer beams flying everywhere. One would think that Star would immediately close it, but she just stood there, watching the battle unfold.
  134.
  135. "STAR! WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING GET RID OF THAT!" Marco screamed from a safe distance, "YOU ARE GOING TO GET YOURSELF KILLED...! CRAP! WATCH OUT!" A mortar came flying down to the location where Star was standing. Apparently one of the armies detected the magic protruding from the portal and mistook it for a weapon. Marco reacted to the sound of the mortar and tackled Star to the ground away from the portal just before the place was blown up. Giant chunks of debris and shrapnel came flying from it, Star would have definitely been killed by that hadn't Marco intervened.
  136.
  137. The boy didn't say anything. Instead, he quickly took away the scissors off of Star's hand and closed the portal carefully while avoiding stepping in front of it. He then opened another portal to what looked like the coast of an island. He quickly examined the place to determine whether it was suitable to stay in.
  138.
  139. The island looked like any other island from Earth except that all the foliage was a kind of purple instead of green. It was nighttime and the sky looked relatively clear; the only thing that concerned Marco was the possibility of monsters hidden inside the jungle, but if there was anything Star was any useful at was fighting off monsters. This place is perfect to spend the night at least, Marco thought. He made a gesture with his head to Star to indicate her that they were going in, but the girl gave her a very toxic look and stayed put.
  140.
  141. "If you're going to be like that, that's fine. Suit yourself, I saved your life by the way." Marco entered the portal and dropped the scissors on the sand. He walked a few seconds before he heard the portal zipping closed. Seemed like for once, Star had listened to him.
  142.
  143. "I guess you decided to come with, that's nice of you." Said Marco, still looking straight forward.
  144.
  145. "I'm not here to be with you Marco, I'm just here for the beach." Star cast a spell on herself, healing her sunburns, then walked towards the sea and just sat in the water. Thankfully the beach was relatively warm, or else she would have looked like a fool. "So you brought us here, what's your master plan, Mr. Know-it-all?"
  146.
  147. "Oh, so now out of a sudden you care about what I have to say?"
  148.
  149. "Not really. I just want to know how likely it is that you'll have to come to me for help and apologize."
  150.
  151. "I don't need to apologize. YOU need to thank me for saving your life. I would have had to pick up little pieces of you If I would have done the rational thing and not try to save you. Anyways, I'm going to look for some shelter deep in the jungle. If I can't find it I'll just make one myself. You're invited come with at any time."
  152.
  153. "Magical princess, Diaz. Don't need a human to survive. You can go on your own."
  154.
  155. "A'ight. I'll be on my way then."
  156.
  157. "Good riddance, Marco! I'll be right here if you when you come crying for me! Oh no, Star! I appear to be chased by wolves! Star! I'm starving! Oh, please, Star! I need you to...Marco?"
  158.
  159. Star turned around to see complete darkness. Not a sign of Marco anywhere. She didn't actually expect the boy to just disappear into the jungle without the one person who's actually trained to survive. But yet it seems that pride had gotten the best of him. Stupid, so stupid, why on Mewni would he ever think of doing that? How can he be so reckless to abandon his only chance of making it out there alive? Why would he leave her like that? Leave her alone...in the darkness of the night...all by herself. But she can handle it. She's Star Butterfly after all, Princess of Mewni. He doesn't need some dumb boy, he could get eaten for all she cared, he deserves it. He totally had it coming, it is all his fault...right?
  160.
  161. "He'll be back. He's just trying to make a point, " Star thought to herself, "and when he does, I might as well impress him."
  162.
  163. "SECUNDA IMMOBILIA!" Star cast a spell on a nearby palm tree, digging itself into the ground, "Huh, I could have sworn that was the right spell...oh well, better start looking for foo-"
  164. The ground shook like an earthquake so powerful that even Marco felt it a mile away. A small wooden hut rose up from the sand. It looked perfectly functional and masterly crafted, at least on the outside.
  165.
  166. "There it is! Who's the fool now, huh Marco?" The hut wasn't particularly fancy, but it looked stable enough to sleep in comfortably, the inside as expected was completely empty, but it was nothing magic couldn't solve. She made a bed, a couch, a closet, and a small kitchen with food she also made up with magic. Needless to say she looked perfectly set to spend the night.
  167.
  168. Star waited a few hours for Marco to come around; he had to come EVENTUALLY. But the boy didn't show up, and Star didn't know whether to worry or not. In the end, she decided not to look for him, instead she made a kind of flair to alert Marco of her position if he was still out there in the jungle. The girl laid down on her bed trying to catch some sleep, but sleep didn't come; she was still thinking about him: "Is he lost? Is he cold? Is he hungry? Is he even alive?" She pondered these kind of questions for a few minutes, but by the time she could act upon that last question, sleep came over her.
  169.
  170. A sound of broken glass woke her out of slumber. "Marco?" the girl asked to the darkness, the darkness didn't reply. She looked around in terror, everything little silhouette looked scarier than before, but everything seemed to be perfectly normal. Star laid her head back on her pillow reluctantly, and closed her eyes.
  171.
  172. "Dammit, Clyde; do you not understand anything about STEALTH!?" Star's eyes opened as fast as lighting. She didn't move a muscle as to not startle the voice coming from the other side of her hut, but she was terrified.
  173.
  174. "Sawrry, boss, that ain't happenin' 'gain I sweah!"
  175.
  176. "Yeah, that's what I thought, now come in now, we don't want to wake up the girl..."
  177.
  178. Star was ready to rain hell on her intruders. She slowly stretched a hand to the nightstand she had placed to the side of her bed to grab her wand, but it wasn't there. Looks like she was was going to have to take matters into her own hands.
  179.
  180. "OKAY, WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY HUT!?" Star sprung up from her bed and turned on a lamp. She was surprised to see a little hill-billy looking, goblin-like creature trying lift up the lamp. As soon as she saw him the green being jumped down from the nightstand and joined a slightly bigger goblin that looked like he was the "boss". He was carrying some silverware he found in the kitchen, which he dropped as soon as he saw the giant blonde girl, fully awake this time.
  181.
  182. "OUT. OF. MY. HUT. NOW!" Star said demonically. She looked around and saw her wand on the floor next to her nightstand. She quickly picked it up and aimed directly at the couple of trespassers. "I SAID NOW!"
  183.
  184. "Oh, come on baby," pleaded the "boss", "you don't have to be so harsh. We were just here to...um...tell her, Clyde."
  185.
  186. "We was here just to borrow sum stuffs, m'am! We wus gonna give it back to you as soon as we were done with'em. I sweah, lady!"
  187.
  188. "OUT!" Light and energy were now coming from the wand. It was made obvious to the goblins that she was charging up a shot.
  189.
  190. "Okay, okay, we are just going to head out now. No need to make a mess out of things, right, Clyde?," The goblins slowly backed away from her, "If you give just one second to- HEY LOOK DISTRACTION!" The goblin pointed to some empty space next to Star. The girl instinctively turned around. Star turned back around and was ready to blast those pests away, but they weren't in the same place she left them. Suddenly, a third goblin that was hanging from the ceiling jumped on the arm Star was using to hold the wan.
  191.
  192. "Eww, Eww, Eww, get off you freak!" Panicked, the girl shook her arm uncontrollably, trying to get to dirty goblin off of her royal skin.
  193.
  194. "HORDE!" The boss cried. This couldn't be good.
  195.
  196. "What." The girl stopped shaking. Around one hundred goblins surrounded the little hut made for one. They were all armed with little daggers or spears. In her shock, the third goblin managed to rip out the wand from her hand and threw it at the crowd of assaulters.
  197. They slowly moved onto the girl, backing her up against the walls.
  198.
  199. "Uh-oh...Marco?" were the only words that managed to come out of her mouth.
  200.
  201. Part III
  202.
  203. "Marco?...Marco, if you're out there I just wanted to say I just became a little more eager to apologize..." The princess was running out of space as the goblins closed in on her.
  204.
  205. "Shut up, woman!" The goblins stacked themselves on top of one another right in front of her, making a pile that reached Star's eye level. On top of that pile, the boss climbed to speak directly to her face. Like, six inches away.
  206.
  207. "Now listen to me, you freak! We're gonna do this my way, or my way. Now be quiet for a second."
  208.
  209. "Yeah, you tell'er, boss!"
  210.
  211. "Shut up, Clyde! As I was saying, we were simply going to take some stuff back to our place before you decided to threaten us with your little glowing stick. Unfortunately for you, now this means we have use force against you. That, unless, you would be willing to sit back down like the little bitch you are."
  212.
  213. "Why, you little Argh-!" Out of rage, Star tried to punch the pile of goblins away, but her feet didn't move with her swing, instead she instantly lost her balance and was going down. The goblins dispersed from the area as to not get crushed by the falling giant. Thankfully sand isn't one of the worst surfaces to tumble on. "You tied my feet!? Oh, as soon as I get them out of there I'm gonna-Wait, wait, ow, ow!" The army of goblins rushed to attack the fallen princess with their daggers. But because of their size, their weapons could only scratch her skin at worst. But it still hurt.
  214.
  215. "Get! off! of! me! You trolls!" Star flopped around like a fish out of water, trying to shake the goblins away. The goblins responded by sneaking in into her clothes, "Oh nonononnonono! Bad Touch! Bad Touch!" Star managed to get on her feet and with her hands she grabbed the goblins and threw them as far as she could. But the goblins were ridiculously persistent. When she got rid of one, two would take its place. For once it seemed that Star had finally found her match.
  216.
  217. There was some grunting and yelling going on outside of the hut; the girl dismissed these sounds as just some goblins who were going crazy about the loot they found. That was until one, really smashed up goblin entered the hut, whispered something to another goblin, and a large group of them rushed out of there.
  218.
  219. Little by little, hordes of goblins left the hut to respond to whatever it was that was driving them out. Only after a few moments passed, Star was able to identify a scream followed by some very loud grunting and battle cries. It was the boy she dismissed not too long ago because she "didn't need a human to survive", but the girl slowly are her words as she struggled to fight off the goblins.
  220.
  221. Marco, with his skin filled with scratches, bust throw the hut's door, some goblins flying in as well. Marco carried a large, thick stick that he used a baseball to fight off his attackers.
  222.
  223. "Marco! You came back!" Star said overjoyed.
  224.
  225. "Yeah, thank me later! Little! busy! here!", answered the boy swinging his stuck, "Where's your wand?" The boy glanced down to see a terrified goblin holding the wand in fear. He nonchalantly kicked it in the direction of Star, and she managed to grab the wand in midair. She just dodged the goblin, who went flying against the wall behind her.
  226.
  227. One by one, Star blasted the remaining goblins away. In the process, however Star destroyed much of the furniture and the structure of the hut. By the time the last group of goblins fled, the hut collapsed. Thankfully both teens noticed and left right before it happened.
  228.
  229. "Well, that happened." Said Marco, admiring the beauty of the destruction, "could have been a lot worse.
  230.
  231. "Marco, I...I'm..." At loss of words, Star rushed to give his savior a hug, "I'm sorry I acted like that. Thanks for helping me. Again, I'm sorry for everything, for not listening to you, for stranding us here for-"
  232.
  233. "Star," Marco interrupted her, "Its okay, I'm not mad at you anymore."
  234.
  235. "You're not?" Star let him go to face him, wiping some tears from her face.
  236.
  237. "No, I'm not. It's not worth it, being angry over this. We've been in worse situations but we always managed to figure out a way out, together. This doesn't have to an exception. We both made mistakes. I shouldn't have left you to handle this by yourself. It was stupid and I realize this now. I'm sorry."
  238.
  239. "It's fine, I know being in your period can be hard sometimes."
  240.
  241. "On my what?!" Marco tried his best to take her seriously, but in the end he couldn't control his laughter, "me period?!Oh my God, Star, damn. No, Star, I'm not on my period, guys don't get periods, only girls do."
  242.
  243. "That means I get periods?"
  244.
  245. "Well, uh...I don't know. I'm talking about HUMAN girls, I really don't know how it works for Mewmans...can we change the topic this is getting a bit awkward...so anyways! One of the reasons I came back around here was to tell you that I found a comfy cave not too at away from here and that you're welcome to come if you want, but you clearly have something better, or at least you used to. Then I saw those things try to attack you, and you know the rest of the story. So, with that said, you're still welcome to come with."
  246.
  247. "But Marco, I can just make ano-...actually, never mind; let's go check out your place."
  248.
  249. And so the two teens ventured deep into the rain forest. After a rather uneventful walk, they eventually made it to Marco's cave. There was nothing inside of the cave, other than some sticks that looked like they were meant to be a fireplace, and Marco's backpack next to it. Marco took a box of matches from his bag and started the fire. He also grabbed a couple of towels, which they used as blankets, and set themselves up almost right next to each other, next to the fireplace.
  250.
  251. "Hey, Marco." Whispered Star, laying down on the hard surface.
  252.
  253. "Yeah?" The boy was almost asleep.
  254.
  255. "Thanks for saving me. Maybe once in a while I do need a hero." The girl smiled sweetly at him, turned to her side and closed her eyes. Marco responded with a nod, and closed his eyes as well. Star waited a little while to make sure he was asleep. She carefully crawled over him to make sure his eyes were closed, and created a pillow with magic for herself. He was awake during all of this, but he decided to allow it. It was the least he could have done for leaving her alone, so he pretended not to notice.
  256.
  257. Across the dimensional space, very far away, a little beeping could be heard. Janna was struggling to find any sleep, thanks to this horrible beeping. She initially dismissed the sounds as a fire alarm that needed it's battery replaced, but minute by minute the beeping was getting stronger, to the point that her pillow over head didn't help. The girl got up to investigate the sound. Half-asleep, she exited her room to find the faulty fire alarm, but the further she walked away from her room, the fainter the sound got. It became obvious that the beeping was actually coming from her bedroom. She turned back and waited for the next beep to hit. A flash of light, along with a beep, came from her drawer. She opened the drawer to find a shiny little wooden box, engraved with a beautiful design of flowers and swords.
  258.
  259. "Holy crap, I almost forgot about this thing. So this is what it does, beep?"
  260.
  261. A little backstory on the box. This box was one of the few things that Star brought with her from Mewni. She had no idea what the box was for, the only thing she knew, it's that it was for emergencies only, and that she must give it to Angie Diaz as soon as she met her. Of course, Star forgot all about this, and just put it somewhere in her closet. In one of Janna's frequent break-ins into the Diaz residence, she found this box. She tried everything to open it, but it wouldn't give in. She heard some footsteps coming from the stairs, so she just took the box home to figure it out later. She hadn't even touched it until that moment.
  262.
  263. But this time, the box opened on it's own. As soon as she held it in her hands, the box revealed a pair of dimensional scissors, and a note saying: "Dear Ms. Diaz, if you're reading this, it means that my daughter Star has been in another dimension for more than 24 hours. Please, if she hasn't gone back home yet, I beg you notify us, and use this to find her. The scissors should automatically target her location."
  264.
  265. "Wow, I actually have my own pair of scissors. This is amazing! But wait, this means Star is lost somewhere, I gotta go find her...tomorrow. I'm way to freaking tired to handle shit like this right now." And so she did.
  266.
  267. First thing in the morning, however, she grabbed her scissors and opened up a portal to the dimension where Star and Marco were stranded. She landed somewhere in the coast, couple of miles away from where Marco opened his own portal.
  268.
  269. "So this is were Star is 'lost'? This place looks like somewhere I would go for vacation!" Janna thought. She didn't know what to do or where to go from there, so she followed the beach hoping she would find her. Half an hour later, she found the remains of what used to be Star's hut. She looked around the wreckage for clues, and eventually found some footprints leading towards the jungle.
  270.
  271. "Found her." Janna said to herself, "gosh I hope she's okay. I wonder what happened to that thing." The girl followed the footsteps, stepping over them as if it was game. Doing this however, she noticed that some of the footsteps were ridiculously close to each other, and weren't made by the same type of shoe. It was made obvious to her that:
  272.
  273. 1. Star got kidnapped.
  274.
  275. or
  276.
  277. 2. Star is here with Marco.
  278.
  279. Either option excited her. She followed the trail even faster than before. The though of having the chance of kicking some serious kidnapper ass, or getting close to a piece of ass. This scenarios fueled her with purpose. The walk that took Star and Marco around 20 minutes to complete, Janna did it in 6 and a half. She found them sleeping inside the cave next to each other. A little too close to Janna's preference, but them she remembered that there's nothing between them and most likely will never be. She carefully walked over Star and her pillow, and snuggled with Marco under the towel, who thankfully for her didn't wake up as soon as she touched him. It was going to be a rude awakening for him later on, but for now, she might as well as enjoy that moment.
