Smoking problem.

Sir, I am a final year CS engineering student from Bangalore. I have lived in Dubai and Kuwait, Dubai being more recent. I believe that for a country to be developed, freedom to the people is important. While at Dubai, I used to be free to have a cigarette anywhere. I had complete peace of mind. I didn't have to worry about police always trying to catch me. I don't say smoking is cool or correct. But its addictive. One cannot simply quit it. In Dubai, under No Smoking boards the fine is AED 200. I know in Gujarat there is a ban on smoking etc. I believe that it is a kind of torture. I don't support smokers of ages below 21. My recommendations is to remove the ban on SMOKING in PUblIC, as it is not followed at ALL and the police are raping us in its name. The fine is Rs 200 right!? But the police are charging anywhere from Rs 500 to Rs 1000 and will threaten to call your parents and take you to the station? Well, at my place my parents know I smoke, and they have let it go. If they take me to the station, they will charge Rs 200 per person, and Rs 200 per officer. What CONGRESS did was make a way for the police to make money. And moreover, we innocent citizens of India suffer. I believe there are 2 ways to smoke. Ethically and un-ethically. Around Cauvery Theatre, at 1230 in the night just after the last show, a million gunda kind of guys will be lighting cigarettes even when the families are leaving to their homes. THEY BLOW SMOKE INTO OUR FACES AND STILL AT THAT TIME, NO POLICE IS SEEN TO BE STOPPING THEM. But when we normal persons, who have to save face in society, find some NON PUBLIC places and be peacefully smoking over there, the POLICE raid the place. NON PUBLIC as in Parking lots, Tea shops, Etc. NOT IN BUS STANDS, on the FOOTPATH,etc. When I was in DUBAI, I realized that there people don't even worry about such trivial matters. Why not LET THE PEOPLE MAKE THE CHOICE? let them call the helpline when they are OFFENDED by someone, make sure they get the helpline. IF WE are not hurting anybody, and WE KNOW THE ILL EFFECTS OF SMOKING and ACCEPT IT AS a NECESSARY EVIL, WHO IS THE Government AND THE POLICE TO PLAY WITH OUR LIVES? WAS THE INDIAN CONSTITUTION WRITTEN TO KEEP INDIANS POOR FOREVER???
There are so many pressing matters, but WE INDIANS run behind the most useless things. Remove the mental blockage of SMOKING and DRINKING and ENJOYING LIFE IN GENERAL. DEVELOPED COUNTRY PEOPLE NEVER CARED ABOUT IT. THEY prioritized their other functions and COMPLETED THEM, then when they had a GOOD educated group as a population of the country, THEN THEY implemented LAWs to control the PEOPLE. IN INDIA, EDUCATION IS NON EXISTENT. YOU CANNOT MAKE SOME STUPID LAWS. IT HURTS THE YOUNG AND THE FRAGILE THE MOST. THE Police never even catch a farmer or other localite for smoking. THEY LITERALLY PREY ON the STUDENTS and TECHIES. AND IN BANGALORE, there are mostly STUDENTS AND TECHIES. After our hard days work we might want to smoke something, and we ALWAYS GOTTA DO IT IN FRONT OF some garbage or in complete isolation, as if we are doing DRUGS! PUBLIC PLACE IS UNDEFINED, SMOKING PLACE IS UNDEFINED. MAKING DUMB-ASS LAWS LIKE THESE AND IMPLEMENTING THEM PARTIALLY. WHY INDIA CANNOT BE A USA. Because of these silly laws. NOW MORE ARE COMING. SMOKING BAN FOR below 25 years? WHAT the hell is wrong with you. IS THAT GOING TO HELP? People are not okay with other family members smoking in the HOUSE premises. SMOKERS WILL BE LEFT WITH NO PEACE OF MIND WHATSOEVER AND IT WILL LEAD TO MASS SUICIDE OR WORSE, MASS RIOTS AND many many more such incidents. SO Please hear my advice.

Here is my recommendation:
1. STRICT POLICING TO SEE THAT SHOPKEEPERS DO NOT SELL TO MINORS(THIS is whats required NOT LAWS!)
2. Change MINIMUM AGE TO 21 YEARS. (ALL are adults by then, no need for 25 Years!)
3. MAKE SINGLES SALES ILLEGAL. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THIS. Because a cigarette is very costly nowadays. IN DUBAI WHAT COSTS Rs 6.67 is here Rs 10.
The DUTY in Dubai would be 2-3%. AND Here WERE GIVE 200%. DID IT HELP? LOOK AT 60 YEARS WHAT MAJOR GROWTH HAVE WE SEEN? NOTHING. WRONG IDEOLOGY. ONLY A DEVELOPED COUNTRY PERSON WOULD UNDERSTAND.
Indians are going to be poor forever, I have no Interest to live in my country bound by BASELESS LAWS.

I'll take up the IMPORT AND EXPORT DUty ISSUES along with the SPEEDLIMIT ISSUES in another post. DON'T IGNORE THIS. I'M NOT SOME ILLITERATE FOOL TALKING HERE. I WENT AND HAVE BREATHED THE AIR OF A DEVELOPED COUNTRY, UNLIKE THE 99% OF THESE SO CALLED INDIANS, WHO ARE ALLOWED TO RUN THE COUNTRY. DON'T LET THEM CONTINUOUSLY MAKE WRONG DECISIONS.
