- Sayaka had needed the money. That present wasn't going to buy itself!
- The work was simple, the neighborhood was nice, and best of all, the kids were old enough to take care of themselves.
- She was basically just there in case of trouble. Which almost never happened, but... just in case, right?
- "6PM until midnight, though it could be early morning. Their curfew's 9PM, just call if there's a problem."
- Saya smiled, nodded, and waved off the couple without a care. The two were upstairs playing, by the sound of things.
- So she went to the sofa and got comfortable, opening up one of her favorite books. Then just when it was getting good... her alarm beeped.
- A frustrated sound, before she climbed off the furniture and went upstairs, all smiles as she calmly informed the two of the time. Surprisingly, they didn't bicker or argue.
- They just gave a resigned 'yes, miss Saya' before killing the lights. That made her smile more genuine before she shut the door, leaving them to a good night's rest, hopefully.
- Finally, peace and quiet. She got comfortable within the corner of the sofa, curled up with the book in her skirted lap.
- It was a cheap romance novel. Interesting enough to be worth reading, but straight forward enough that it didn't have much in the way of value for a second look.
- Saya was bored and alone, though, so it suited her needs just fine.
- She gave a little breath as she turned the page. Wow, the main character was bold, taking the girl in his arms like that and-
- While continuing her reading as the situation escalated, and garments began flying off in the heated moment the characters shared, she couldn't help but feel a little breathless... and somewhat warm.
- How long had it been since she had those kinds of urges? Sayaka's legs stretched out and curled in as she continued reading slowly, both to focus on the story and to keep from becoming distracted.
- Did the AC even work? She felt hot beneath her collar, and one hand restlessly tugged at her blouse to give the rise and fall of her chest some breathing room.
- Maybe she could relax a little. Those two were fast asleep upstairs, their parents wouldn't be home for hours... and, well, the notion of making herself comfortable seemed like it would make the dull night somewhat more exciting.
- Sayaka could have slapped herself for having such a vile thought.
- Not only was it a ridiculously shameless thing to do, especially when she was technically working, she had no real way of knowing if those kids were even asleep.
- There were some things those at impressionable ages just weren't meant to see.
- She needed to go cool off some. That was, in both body and mind. After reluctantly setting the book down, which hadn't gotten too into things yet, she got to her feet and quietly went to the AC unit in the hall.
- "Don't touch. Ever." It read 84. Were they nuts? What kind of setting was that?! But it was their electric bill, not hers. With a renewed tug to her collar to let more air in, she abandoned the idea and went into the kitchen instead.
- At least they'd given her free reign of the fridge. She let the warm light from inside give the dark room some illumination as she gave the contents a cursory look.
- The usual stuff a parents' fridge would have. Juice, soda... even some other stuff in the back she had a feeling the kids weren't meant to touch. No way was she going there. Water would suit her just fine.
- She took a pitcher from the top shelf, set it on the counter, and filled a clear glass to the halfway mark. After replacing that, she retrieved an ice tray from the freezer portion.
- A light crack of the container with both hands, and she dumped a small handful into the glass. The colder, the better.
- She also took one for herself before putting the tray away. While taking the glass of water to the living room, Sayaka traced the taken cube gently around her neckline, carefully within the collar of her blouse.
- Once she back sat down on the sofa, she gave a relaxed sigh while tracing the cool moisture around her collar bone. That was worlds better.
- Then a soft voice from the stairs behind her nearly made her jump. "Miss Saya, I can't sleep."
- She put on her best smile back towards the youthful figure at the stairway, "No prob, sweetie, I'll come up and read you a-....ACK!" She felt her skin crawl as the sensation of the ice cube plummeting down her blouse registered with her, nestled perfectly in the inner cusp of where her left breast met her bra. Oh god, was that ever COLD.
- Sayaka was already squirming about as the child stared at her with a perplexed expression. "Um... are you okay, miss Saya?"
- "I'm fine, just... uh, dropped something! Head on up, I'll be r, right there!" Before the boy reluctantly headed back upstairs, he couldn't help but give a backwards look at the fidgeting female on the sofa. Girls really were weird.
- Okay, Sayaka had to do something, she couldn't focus on two things at once... especially not when one was THAT.
- The departure bought her some much-needed time. The moment the kid's back was turned, while she fought to suppress a lingering shiver, her right hand slowly lifted up the lower part of her blouse.
- It was just enough for her left hand to reach under the soft material towards the front of her bra. Thankfully it was the sort which was easy enough to undo from both sides, and this was much easier(and less obvious) than fumbling around from the top.
- Besides, that might have just made things worse, it felt like it was pretty settled in as it was. Last thing she needed was to wind up struggling with her entire outfit and making a scene.
- So with a small pinch of her fingers, she deftly undid her bra. Her face went somewhat red from the sensations which accompanied the gesture, since it made her thoughts dance back to her earlier whim.
- No, this wasn't the same at all, Saya was doing this for a good reason! That was what she tried to convince herself of, anyway. Fortunately the desired result was pretty immediate. Once the clasp came free, along with the restraint of her breasts, she felt the melting cube go tumbling down her skin, past the hem of her blouse... and right against the waistband of her skirt.
- "...oh, of all the..." Sayaka rolled her eyes, letting go of her blouse with the hand that wasn't occupied beneath it, reaching down to pull away the chilled, and rapidly dampening, cube from the dark blue material.
- Her index and thumb had settled onto it when another voice from behind made her pulse race. "...Miss Saya, are you okay?"
- Was that kid some kind of a ninja? She'd never even heard him approach! Of course, she had been a little occupied...
- Though she hoped that for all the kid could tell, each of her arms were just in front of her doing something or other, not messing with her outfit in a way that would even have a kid wondering all kinds of things.
- "I, I'm just fine! I just spilled something, that's all. Give me a moment to clean it up and I'll be right behind y-"
- A shiver shot through her spine. The chilled residue from the melting ice was going right down her body beneath the skirt, and her underwear to boot. Of all the times. She quickly moved her left hand down from beneath her blouse, lifting up the cube between her other fingers to brush her palm over her midriff and her fingers carefully beneath the skirt to wipe the water aside before it could make matters worse. She had to lift the hem up slightly to manage that, which wasn't a big deal.
- At least until the moistened object in her other hand slipped from her fingers and went plunging down the opening of her skirt and into the confines of her panties.
- Oh god. She stared down blankly at her skirt and the vague telltale outline of dampness spreading along the material. It took every bit of restraint she had not to scream.
- "I don't wanna go back alone... Please go with me?"
- The pleading voice might have made Saya's heart melt in any other instance. In the present one she was more worried about the melting ice-cold substance currently lodged between her underwear and that delicate incline beneath her waist.
- Saya was being selfish. It was just a melting ice cube, it wasn't like it'd kill her... though it was certainly uncomfortable and distracting enough.
- Still, she had to be responsible. "I'm sorry, I'm c-coming." She stammered on her words as she got up from the sofa, her posture faltering a little. God was that cold! She could ignore it, though.
- Saya passed around the sofa and lightly took the youth's hand in her own. "C'mon, Ry-Ry, let's go put you to bed."
- The gesture and usage of Ryunosuke's favorite nickname seemed to already brighten his mood, he was even pulling her along as she accompanied him up the stairs, trying to keep from fidgeting on the way up.
- It wasn't like the ice was down THAT far, but the wet sensation still drove her to distraction... and she'd need to dry the damp undergarment off at some point.
- That reminded her... her bra was still undone. Well, it wasn't like it was off. It still sat comfortably on her shoulders and across her back... she could always fix it later.
- Saya's thoughts went back to reality as she entered the bedroom just to the left of the stairs, which was just about pitch-black.
- "Ry', why's it so dark?" "The light was scary."
- That was weird. She'd heard of kids leaving a light on, but leaving them off? Well, she figured his brother was sleeping, the younger one never had a problem with that.
- A little illumination couldn't hurt, though. "Well you should at least leave the nightlight on, someone could get h-"
- When she flicked the switch to the tiny outlet besides the door, instead of finding some illumination, her vision went black.
- "Gotcha, Saya!" The jubilant voice at her right started giggling uncontrollably, as did a much younger one from the bed on the other side of the room.
- The two little engineers had somehow rigged a bucket over the door frame, and when she flipped the switch, it and a good three gallons of water came spilling down over her.
- Sayaka was torn between feeling stunned and infuriated as she pulled the plastic contrainer off her head and tossed into the hallway. Her hair was left totally drenched. Well, so was the rest of her.
- "That, was, not, funny." She was left twitching as the two pointed and giggled. "...get to bed, or else I'll get you back while you sleep!"
- The two didn't seem to know what she meant by that... but they didn't seem to want to know, either. They had their fun, so they climbed in as directed.
- Saya didn't know what else to say but sigh as she backed out of the room, pulling the door shut. She was absolutely soaked. At least it distracted her from that lingering bit of ice in her clothes, but it didn't help much when it was probably the least dry thing she had on!
- What time was it? 10:30 already? Sheesh. They wouldn't be home for at least an hour and a half, but... she was totally unpresentable. Worse, she sure didn't think to bring a change of clothes...
- The longer she stood in the hall in those wet clothes, the more annoyed she became with the situation. All she tried to do was be nice, and that was what she got? Geez... well, Saya wasn't going to let those kids ruin her evening and make her sit around shivering.
- She approached the bathroom with swift footsteps, intent on what she had to do next. The kids were fast asleep, and she had more than an hour to spare. Plenty of time to get her clothes dry.
- Once the door was shut she pulled off her drenched blouse, followed by her skirt. Wearing them was silly, she'd look ridiculous even if they dried a little. Not to mention she'd have to walk home in them!
- The rest had to go too, unfortunately. The undone bra and especially her panties were just as wet. That was when a little reluctance began to set in, but she went through with it. Even her socks and shoes, since her feet were left wet as well.
- There were more than enough towels to make use of. She used a smaller one to dry off with as best as she could. Her medium-length hair took the longest, and was still a little on the damp side, but her body hadn't taken long at all to dry off.
- After hanging the smaller towel, she took down a longer one and wound it around herself, tucking a fold of red cotton in place beneath her shoulder. Saya sighed lightly as she gathered up her wet outfit in her arms. She already felt worlds better.
- Balancing the pile of clothing in one hand and opening the door with the rest, she nervously tip-toed out into the hall. It was still dark, and not a sound came from the room. Good.
- The drier was on the far end of the hall, and wouldn't make much noise. She opened the door, tossed her clothing in, and set it to run as warm as it could go.
- Leaving her shoes on top of the door of the vertical unit, she then went back to the stairs. Sayaka gave the running appliance a backward glance, as if to keep up her confidence in the idea, before she slowly headed back downstairs.
- It was definitely a new experience, doing this in someone's house. It made Saya's skin tingle, a little differently than how it had when she was shivering only moments before. If the parents or even the kids saw her like this, she'd have a lot of explaining to do... but the latter might even pull more tricks on her, and nothing she expected she'd like.
- Nothing to worry over, she had plenty of time still. Saya would even be listening extra closely in case either of those two worke up again. So she guessed there was only one thing left to do while she waited.
- Continue reading, of course! Saya sat down in the corner of the cushy sofa, snuggling up against a throw pillow while cradling her book in her hands. "...the soft kisses were placed repeatedly along her bare skin, starting at her collar bone then tracing lower and lower still, each light touch of the lips drawing a pleasant sound from the upright woman..."
- Oh geez. This was getting intense. Saya felt her outstretched legs brushing lightly against one another, her toes curling somewhat. Then she read about where the kisses eventually went to, and her chest began heaving softly, the upper curves of her breasts rising and falling from behind the folds of her towel.
- "C, come on... down girl, it's just a story..." She was getting way too worked up from a silly romance novel, had she been feeling that pent-up?
- Well, whatever the reason, her body was definitely feeling warmer than before. As one hand held the book, before Saya realized it, the fingers of her other hand were tracing the skin of her own leg, just below the hem of her towel, and lightly dancing upward. The touch of her hand inched it higher and higher, making the bare state of her left thigh plainly obvious as the soft outline of her lower body became more apparent.
- Before she knew it, she almost had it up to her waist, and Saya's fingertips were caressing the inside of her own thighs.
- No, bad, BAD, stop! Her breasts were heaving steadily then, and she could even see her own nipples starting to protude against the cotton. She had to do something about this, there was just some lines a girl couldn't cross...
- This wasn't happening. THAT was not going to happen. No, way, no, how. Sayaka frantically sat up with a sharp, heaving breath, before tossing the book away from her like it was on fire, letting it land on the far side of the sofa.
- Saya's gaze bored daggers into the innocuous text, as if this predicament was all somehow the stupid novel's fault. (On some level, she knew better.)
- Well, it was not getting the better of her. Her breath was still a bit on the quickened side as she pushed to her feet and left the sofa behind, returning to the stairs.
- Her breasts had finally calmed down as she reached the top of the stairs, and she had long since readjusted her towel to have a respectable appearance.
- Aside from her looking a little on edge, and maybe giving off some traces of sweat, none would be the wiser as to what she'd almost been up to barely ten minutes ago.
- So she just had to check on her clothes. The dryer wasn't making a sound. That was good. It must have been one of those high-powered ones!
- Saya was already feeling better when she walked over and opened the door from the top of the appliance. All she had to do was get changed, keep that stupid book miles away, and-...
- "Miss Sa-Ya!" The ding-dong playful voice paired with the empty appliance before her made her skin go cold.
- When she stared over to the right, she saw a giggling youth with a bundle of clothes in his arms. "Pretty outfit!"
- With that declared, and a devious laugh, the boy ran into what she could tell was once again a dangerously darkened room.
- Saya felt her hands forming into fists.
- Okay, calm down girl... maybe there's a clearer way of handling this.
- No, getting angry wouldn't accomplish a thing. And straight-up running into the room would be even stupider. But she couldn't just leave her clothing behind either! Last thing she wanted was to explain to the parents why their sitter was sitting around in naught but one of their bath towels. Talk about a fast track to not getting paid.
- So Sayaka swallowed her pride, took a deep breath, and knocked roughly on the door.
- "Okay, you two had your fun! Give my clothes back or I'm gonna call your parents, and..." And... uh... "...I bet you'll get grounded or something!" Great, VERY threatening.
- She fidgeted about while staring to the left at the stairs, setting her arms around her midsection. It had to be at least 11PM by that point, if not later. Time wasn't on her side. Saya had to get this nonsense over with, and fast.
- She heard whispers. Each of her hands went to the door and she leaned over, when she heard a cheery voice finally respond, causing her to jump back. Wait, what was she afraid of!?
- "We'll give them back if you bring us some ice cream!" "An' caake!" The second, younger voice had a lisp which would have been endearing under normal circumstances.
- As the moment it was more infuriating.
- Were those kids nuts!? She wasn't their maid! Did their parents even have any ice cream...? That wasn't important!
- "I'm not bringing you anything 'till you give back my clothes! I'll get on the phone right now if you don't open the door and bring my stuff here!"
- The giggling responses she received didn't fill her with optimism. "Go ahead an'call, bet they won't answer!" How did they know that?
- Well, she was given a number, but it was for emergencies only... and there really was no guarantee they'd answer... not to mention she'd be putting a noose around her own neck if they actually came straight home.
- Then an idea hit her. Mostly thanks to some cheesy slasher flicks, but she doubted the kids were caught up on their b-movies.
- "That's too bad... if they won't answer, I'll have to let the ghosts here help me! They haaaate bad little kids who steal girls' things!"
- "G, ghoost!?" "She's lying, there's no ghost here!"
- "Oh, am I? I totally read about it in, uh, the local section! Fifty years ago this house was built on..." Um... "A cursed restaurant! Some kids were playing a mean joke and caused a fire... the whole place burnt down, and no one e~ver found the remains of the workers. They say they still roam the area, looking to punish bad kids who pull pranks on people...Ooooooh."
- Saya put on her best attempt at a ghostly wail. She wouldn't win any acting awards. Then, unpleasant silence. "Giva stuff back, I don't wanna ghost..." The younger voice was being reasonable, which made her smile. That kid deserved some ice cream, maybe she'd actually oblige him.
- "No w-way, she's totally bluffi-..." Then the lights went out and the kids screamed. Well, it kind of freaked her out too... but it sure as heck lit a fire under the brats.
- The door opened immediately, and a shaking Ryunosuke shoved a pile of clothes into her arms. "We're... we're really sorry, don't send the ghoost!" The boy had a pale face and a frantic bow of apology briefly on display before the door in front of her slammed shut.
- Saya blinked and stared down at the untouched, and pretty warm, clothes bundled in her arms. Wow, it actually worked! What the heck was up with the power, though? She definitely had to go check that out... it was going to get extra stuffy in there with the lights out... and she could barely see a thing.
- From glancing out of a hallway window, it seemed like it wasn't isolated. The entire block had lost power.
- That was kind of good, it meant they'd be working to get the power up as soon as possible. Well, she sure didn't want to get dressed in a pitch-black bathroom.
- With careful footsteps she began heading back downstairs to the living room, there'd be plenty of space there.
- Sayaka gave a sigh as she settled against the sofa once again, tossing her clothes onto the cushion beside her before stretching out her legs. It was already getting a little warm in there, and she could feel some sweat beginning to form on her neckline.
- Maybe she ought to crack a window... and getting dressed when it was going to be that hot inside was seeming a little pointless. Especially if the power stayed out...
- No, Sayaka had no reason to rush. She really didn't like the idea of sitting there in the dark, either.
- Unfortunately Saya had no earthly idea where the family stored a flashlight, lantern, or even if they had any sort of emergency lighting... and she was of no mood to go scouring for one.
- At very least she could find her way to the kitchen. Some ice would be divin-... no, wait. Her memory flashed back to the aftermath of the last time she tried to get some ice from the freezer. And she'd been fully dressed then!
- So this called for a Plan B. She had an easy enough time of reaching the kitchen, even though it was just as dark as the rest of the house.
- Then, one of the kids' suggestion came to mind, of all things. Ice cream, of course! If they really did have some... it would have been perfect.
- The freezer was not very hard to find, since walked towards it with her hands out in front of her. With that as a landmark, she then went to the next cabinet over and withdrew a bowl and a spoon.
- So far, so good. As she brought her right arm up to pass her hand along her neck, Saya's left opened the freezer, which resulted in a light sigh of contentment from the cool air that escaped against her. She needed that. Even though the power was out, it was still comfortably cold in there.
- Focus, focus. Shaking her head to keep her mind on the task before her, she reached her hand in and felt about for any container that was... well, ice cream-shaped.
- A cylinder of some sort. Perfect! Obviously the parents wouldn't be upset at her for indulging a little. Saya set the object down beside her bowl, opened it, and placed a couple of scoops into her bowl. She couldn't tell what flavor it was, but who cared?
- Once she had enough, Saya replaced the container, closed the freezer, and took the bowl out of the kitchen and into the living room, frowning as she approached a window. It was still totally dark outside.
- A small spoon of the chilled substance helped, but not much. Some fresh air was what the house badly needed. So adjusting the bowl to rest in the cusp of her left elbow and against her side, she extended her hand and lightly tugged the window open.
- The last thing she expected was a flashlight to be shone on her.
- "Roger, dispatch, we found someone by the window, a teenage... girl." That much was obvious, though the rescue officer didn't opt to comment about how lightly she was dressed. "Miss, we've heard reports of someone breaking and entering into homes during the power outage. Do you live here?"
- Oh shoot. She stared down to her barely-touched ice cream then back to the fire official, trying to manage the most innocent smile possible. "Yes, I'm just watching the ki-"
- A soft yell from behind her in the stairwell made Saya's skin crawl. "A ghost!"
- "I am not a gh-" She turned and glared at the direction of the child who she couldn't see but knew was there.
- "Son, do you know this girl?" The officer highlighted Ryunosuke with the flashlight, and the smile that slowly formed on the boy's face immediately had Saya bracing herself for the worst.
- "Uh-uh, she's a stranger!"
- "I AM NOT A STRA-!"
- "Miss, I'm going to have to ask you to leave, or else I'll have you taken in."
- Saya could only stare blankly at the officer before her, who was once again aiming the blinding flashlight at her, making the bare sight of her shoulders and collar bone plain as day to any who cared to see.
- Oddly enough, the officer didn't seem all that fazed. Lot of deviants had been about at night as of late, after all.
- From bad to worse. Okay, nice and calm. She was the adult here! Well... by default.
- "Come on, no one would leave those kids alone! I'm watching them, he's just teasing you!"
- "..." The officer seemed to be considering the likelihood of that, then commented, nonchalantly. "Why are you in a towel?"
- "Uh... it was hot."
- "Right... well, you all watch yourselves." A lingering look was given that made Saya more than a little uncomfortable, before the man thankfully left it at that and vanished into the night.
- She breathed in deeply and slammed the window shut. Way, way too close.
- "Okay, you little-... that was so not funn-"
- "Gimme." When she turned around, the small voice was in front of her.
- Obviously he was talking about her bowl of ice cream, which she'd barely touched and was already melting!
- "No way, it's mine! Go back to sleep!" Saya felt childish for arguing with someone a little over half her age, but there she was engaged in the act all the same.
- A silent pout was her response. "Look, I didn't want to yell, but-"
- "Gotcha!" As Saya leaned over to console the kid before he broke into tears, she was reminded of how gullible she was at the worst times.
- It only took a sharp pull of the fabric wound around her legs, followed by a small hand pushing upward at the container in her hands, and she was left with a drenched face after a bowl full of ice cream was set flying at her.
- Also, if the fading laughter hadn't made it obvious enough, the telltale draft made her situation painfully apparent.
- The cold sensation against her face and the bowl which clattered to the ground after falling away had been all she was left wearing.
- It was getting harder and harder for Sayaka to be the responsible adult. In her frustration she brushed an arm past her face, wiping off what she could in minimal time before staring in the direction of the departing footsteps and accompanying laughter.
- Her exposed state hadn't even completely registered with her while she contemplated her options... though that took only a moment. T-...that BRAT!
- At least, much like the rest of her, Saya's blushing face would remain unseen as she drew her arms around her form to cover what counted, before hastily moving towards the steps.
- She was NOT letting him get away with this! Of course she could have just gone back to the sofa and gotten dressed, but Saya was fed up with being picked on, they had to be taught a lesson!
- Besides, it was still pitch-black, not like they'd see her. Of course... that presented a few problems too.
- Finding the steps was easy enough. Climbing them required her to be a lot more careful, and her feet took each step with nervous precision, even using the placement of her upper arm to touch her hand to the wall every so often, making sure she was on the right track.
- It had taken longer than she might have liked, but it was sure better than falling over. The time? Last thing she wanted to consider... it might have almost been 11:30 by that point. Didn't those kids ever get sleepy?
- "Okay, you two, just give me back the towel and I'll-..." Click. The warm glow of a flashlight broke the darkness as she reached the second floor, slowly but surely illuminating the hall from the far-off end and moving in her direction... and it was being held by a form which was barely as tall as her waist. "...oh geez..."
- Saya stared from side to side desperately as the light drew closer, reluctantly putting each of her arms to use beneath her waist, covering that intimate area with one hand over the next in case that light reached her before she could move.
- This was bad, she couldn't let them see her like this... her hands fidgeted in place as she stared around the darkened floor. Sayaka was kind of able to find her way around downstairs... upstairs? She could barely see a thing. She couldn't just go blindly running around... could she? "...miss Sa-ya...? It's dark, where'd y'go..."
- The soft, lisped voice confirmed her worst suspicions just seconds before the glow of a flashlight began tilting in her direction... making a beeline for her unclothed lower body.
- No time to panic... though she already felt her breasts beginning to rise and fall nervously, unbidden. Saya tried to will herself to relax long enough to think of a plan. (And above all else, making sure certain lingering temptations stayed far, far away from her mind.)
- Sayaka froze up as she noticed the warm light drawing closer to her. She tried to will her feet into moving, but... it was like she was frozen in place, and her legs refused to budge. Maybe she was just too nervous to think straight... or she feared she'd just draw more attention by that point by running.
- Well, it was a little late for that before long. The petite form wielding the flashlight, who was barely a few feet away, eventually came to a stop. It was hard for Saya to see beyond the disorienting glow, but she was just about positive it was the younger of the two.
- It wasn't really that much of a cause for alarm, at least not compared to the alternative. Makoto was too young to have the kind of devious thoughts his older brother did... maybe he'd even feel sorry for her and get her things back!
- Though maybe she was also of wishful thinking on both counts. She felt her body shivering instinctively as the flashlight passed across the wall behind her with a painfully slow motion.
- This was crazy, no way he was going to overlook a sight like that! She tried to still her nervous breathing, but her chest only began reacting more quickly.
- Before she knew it, the warmth of the illuminating light reached the curve of her right hip... and passed right along her waistline, firmly pressed hands, and then her other leg, before continued on down the hall in the other direction.
- Sayaka's eyes blinked, relief slowly replacing that built-up panic. Good boy, Mako. She let out a shaky exhalation and let her hands go to her thighs, wiping off a lingering trace of sweat from her palms. Time to hurry downstairs before....
- "...miss Saya?" Her eyes went wide as the soft voice addressed her... and the flashlight went right back to her midriff, the sphere of light outlining half of her stomach and the telltale incline beneath it.
- Before she could react, the flashlight flickered around her waistline and shot up to her face accompanied by a playful giggle. "Found you!"
- Oh no. She felt her face sweating as the light moved upward and around nearly every inch of her skin, as if the kid was enjoying the chance to highlight each and every aspect of her nude form... especially her perked up breasts with their protuding peaks. "H, hi Mako, I-... um..." Oh crap.
- Despite her inability to form a complete sentence, the figure across from her just tilted his head innocently. "...why you naked?"
- Pretty good question.
- Okay... she could totally explain this. Maybe. This was the younger of the two... and which she naturally assumed made Makoto the more gullible. And if she needed him to be anything in that moment, it was gullible.
- "Oh, uh, ha ha..." In midst of the forced laughter, her arms swiftly went into predetermined placement to cover what counted... but if her intention had been to keep Makoto from laying eyes on a sight that was years beyond being appropriate, it was a bit late.
- "I, ah-... lost my stuff downstairs. Right-..." She barely believed herself, why on earth would this kid? "So, um-... I can't see a thing down there, could you... like, go to sleep and let me borrow that?" Sayaka put on her sweetest smile, which she'd been lead to believe was pretty dang effective.
- "Ahm..." The inquisitive youth across from her seemed like he was considering the offer, while the glow of the light hovered around the bare midriff in front of him. To those innocent eyes, Sayaka looked very soft... and huggable.
- "... but it's dark in there... you gotta tuck me in, miss Sa-ya..." Only one thing could win out against that smile, the pleading look Makoto gave her. Was that kid trying to persuade her instead!? If so... it was pretty dang effective.
- Sayaka felt helpless then, even as the flashlight was offered to her. What choice did she have but to take it? Turning to one side, she passed the light around the walls, glad for the attention(and illuminating glow) to be away from her as she stared to the worried-looking boy... then the stairs... then him again.
- No easy choice, but she couldn't live with herself if she let him go into that dark room all alone, could she?
- Of course, maybe Ryunosuke was there... she could always check first, but the older kid's reaction to her absolute lack of attire was bound to be much less innocent.
- Against better judgment, she reached over for Makoto's hand, taking the small one into her own while the other tightly clenched onto the flashlight. She had no way of covering herself, but... even so, she tried to be responsible enough to put his well-being first.
- Only question was... what was she going to do about him?
- It was high time Saya showed a little responsibility. That, and she wasn't heartless. After bracing herself with a silent catch of her breath, she guided Makoto over to the room and slowly eased the door open with the end of the flashlight and a nudge from her foot.
- No more being caught by surprise. Saya gave the room a good look from the doorway, accompanied by a sweep from that flashlight, only entering once she was sure the coast was clear... of both a certain someone and any tricks.
- "Okay, all clear, let's... get you to sleep..." Only then did Saya relax her guard a little, setting the flashlight aside to leave both hands free to help Makoto into bed beneath the scattered covers.
- The two had separate beds, the younger one's being the smaller though further of the two. The room was a little dark, but the faint glow from the light she left on at the end of the bed while she set the boy in place was reassurance enough for them both.
- She didn't much like the awkward ill-covered position it left her in, but the sight of her was almost invisible in the darkness, so Saya tried not to dwell on it.
- "G'night Mako." She gave a small whisper as the boy immediately began to drift off, followed by a sleepy murmur of contentment which was vaguely reminiscent of her own name.
- That wasn't so bad. She even managed a smile as her fingers lightly traced Makoto's forehead... then she heard a door close and she swiftly stood up with an alarmed look to the entryway.
- "...oh come on..." She retrieved the flashlight and hurried to the door, pulling roughly on it with her free hand. It didn't respond... it was locked from the outside. Something only possible in that room.
- "R, Ry-Ry, you open this door right now!" Sayaka whispered tensely followed by a giggle that her skin crawl. "...you forgot your things, Sa-Ya!" Oh no, he wouldn't dare!
- "You leave my stuff alone!" She gave the door another useless tug before casting her gaze to the window... her only option.
- After a quiet sprint to the small opening which waited across the room, Sayaka wasted no time in pulling it open, and was greeted with a chilly breeze that sent a shiver through her, especially as the wind grazed her breasts. She reluctantly leaned forward and stared down into the waiting grass of the yard... and an opened window below which lead into the living room.
- From which she vaguely saw the outline of a young form waving some fabric at her, before tossing it into the ground below. "...Ryunos-...!" Her breath catched in her throat as she quieted the yell before it escaped her. No, she couldn't draw attention. She just had to climb down and get her clothing before he ruined it... and sure enough, she glimpsed a sign of petite white fabric tossed out next.
- She had to do something, fast. A quick look back to the bedded Makoto, who blessedly seemed fast asleep, and the glow of the abandoned flashlight... and then the waiting ledge beneath her, hating herself for knowing full well what she'd have to do.If she walked out onto there, she could easily lower herself by the hands then drop into the yard without enduring much of a fall, if any... and it was still dark out, no one would notice.
- "Sorry, Mako, I'll be right back..." She couldn't climb with the flashlight, nor would she dare give away her position by taking it out with her. With excruciating slowness Saya put one leg through the window... then set her foot down, leaned her body out into the cool night air, and her other leg followed suit.
- Almost there. She fought back a shiver as she kept low and crawled to the end of the ledge, gripping her hands onto it before turning around and curling her body down and around the edge of the small roof.
- After a terrifying sensation of hanging from her fingers for a few moments as her feet dangled, she took in a deep breath and let go, reminding herself it was not a long drop. It wasn't. She fell maybe three feet the rest of the way, though it resulted in a fall on her backside that was less than complimentary, as she was left rubbing her side with a wince from her soft landing in the moist grass.
- As she looked up, the next thing she saw was the grinning face of Ryunosuke from the window in front of her. Sayaka stared down frantically to gather her clothes from the yard... and felt her face go pale as she picked up a boy's tiny button-down pajama top, which seemed like it could barely cover her chest much less being able to double as a top, and the sight of her petite socks, loosely set between the pages of a familiar book.
- "...you were having so much fun reading it before, now you can finish, right? I even marked your spot for you!" The giggle made her face turn bright red. How much had he seen!?
- Saya curled the arm holding the flimsy shirt around her chest, clutching the book into her lap as she stared back at the jubilant youth. He was in for one heck of a spanking when she was through with him! Her footing was shaky, but she got up easily enough as she slowly approached the window... then her eyes went wide as she realized it was gradually being pulled shut.
- "R...Ry-Ry, this isn't funny, let me back in!"
- The boy stopped, looked over the barely dressed girl in front of him... then gave another giggle. "Read it aloud for me!" Saya began squirming with a wide-eyed look to the paperback text, vaguely able to make out a few lines of the marked page in the moonlit yard. "She slowly let her head tilt back with a drawn out mo..." A small shiver went through her body before she stared back at him, blushing profusely. "I, I can't read this out here!"
- "Then I guess you're gonna have to wait out there..." The window started closing again as Ryunosuke just smiled at her.
- Fine! Let him close the window, no way was Saya giving that pervert the satisfaction of her doing as he said! (Was he even old enough to have perverse thoughts?...)
- Besides, she couldn't afford the distraction... in more ways than one. However, she just couldn't bring herself to toss the book away, so she kept it as she gave the disappointed boy a measured frown.
- While one arm kept the petite garment close against her chest, the other held the book close to her lower body. Not the best kind of cover, or appropriate given its content, but...it'd have to do.
- "You better open that door for me, this is your last chance!" Or else what? If she had no way in and Ryunosuke didn't open it for her... Sayaka was screwed. But she had no choice but to try. So she rushed through the damp grass around the side of the home to the front porch, though her movements slowed considerably once her feet touched against the concrete by the front entrance.
- It was still dark as could be. No one could see a thing... and yet there were the distant murmurs that suggested a few people were idling about outside until the power was restored. Hopefully they stayed far away.
- Saya kept close to the home as she approached the door and the small mat in front of it. Oh, she hoped they were traditional.
- A nervous look around to ensure the coast remained clear(and dark), before she curled her legs to kneel close to the mat, abandoning the book to nestle in her lap as she swiftly moved the mat aside... to find nothing.
- "Oh, come o-..." There wasn't time to fret over the parents' lack of adhering to expected tradition. She heard a faint hum of wiring above her, and that gave Saya cause to stare upward at the starlit sky, her face already starting to sweat in dread of what was likely about to happen.
- It was good cause for concern. Street lights began illuminating at the distant end of the road, and before long the road in front of the home was faintly lit as was appropriate for the quiet neighborhood. Sayaka might have relaxed within the relative darkness in front of the door, except... the small lamp above and to the right of the door soon flickered on next. It wasn't as clear as the white street lights, but the faint yellow glow did make the presence of a barely-dressed girl knelt in front of the door as plain as day, if anyone looked.
- Sayaka had to move. Fast.
- Saya gave a small sound of surprise, and was on her feet without wasting a second once the light above her clicked on. Within the next few, she was long gone from view, hiding around the side of the house once again.
- There were no yells or raised voices in her wake, so she was left with the reassuring thought that no one had seen her.
- It still didn't solve either of her pressing issues; having nothing resembling proper clothing to wear, or a way back into the home. It was a little darker around the side of the home, but with the street lights back on, it wasn't much.
- She couldn't stay there for long. Saya had no way of knowing the time, but she knew it wasn't on her side. As she walked around the edge of the home, her feet periodically kicked over the occasional suspicious rock to see if it hid a key or something of use.
- No dice. The window Ryunosuke had opened to taunt her through? Locked. There was still another way, though...the kitchen. She had deliberately made use of the living room window to cool down, but there was still a chance she could get in the back way.
- That gave Sayaka a much-needed jolt of inspiration. She ran to the back of the home with that tiny amount of cloth fluttering around her near-exposed back and shoulders before she reached the rear window.
- It was right by the counter. Low enough to be accessible, but it would require a little climbing. The backyard was better lit, too. She had to hurry.
- This would require both hands, too. So that ever-present book of hers was set down... and she used the pajama top around her chest like a very, very flimsy(and tight) bandana, tying it into an extremely weak knot behind her shoulders. It barely stayed in place, but... it was something. Better half naked than all the way. Or so she tried to tell herself.
- Each of her hands reached up, her fingers gripped the edge of the window, and pushed with an upward extension of her arms. And... it opened, sliding up with one of the most comforting sounds she'd heard all night.
- Great. Now she just had to pull herself up, climb through, and she'd be home fre-
- "Is someone there?" A voice from around the corner. She sharply turned her head in that direction... footsteps, and a faint voice.
- Female, it sounded like. Oh no. Could it have been the mother? Or maybe someone who could help? Or... an officer?
- Saya had time to pull through the window, but she'd have to rush... and possibly risk hurting herself. Who knew what was on the other side of the window?
- Saya had her way into the home. No way was she not taking it! She did retrieve her book first, though, and it was tossed into the window ahead of her... both to keep the incriminating text accessible and, well, simply because she still meant to finish it.
- That was the easy part. Pulling up onto the window sill was not an easy feat, but she managed. First she got one of her feet onto the bottom of the window, then her other. So far so good.
- Once her weight was balanced on the edge of the window, she knelt down, and very carefully turned around, gripping the bottom of the window with her hands so she could set her legs down inside the home.
- Footsteps could be heard rustling through the distant grass. Saya was taking too long! But she didn't want to get herself injured in the process. She finally managed to get her feet down inside the home, and began moving her upper body in, when...
- *Whirrr....THNK*.
- The open window came freely sliding down against her shoulder blades, forcing her body down against the lower part of the frame, unpleasantly nestled against her ribs.
- Her legs could move freely, but everything above her midriff was still outside the window, and her barely concealed bosom and arms could be seen swaying helplessly.
- Also, she was going to be plenty sore later. It was just a small setback. All she had to do was straighten her back and push the window open.
- Then a small giggle could be heard inside behind her. "...did you get stuck, miss Sa-Ya?..." Of all the times...
- "N, no... I'm just fine, go away!" She pushed down with her arms against the narrow opening, trying with every bit of her strength to force the window back up so she could get free.
- Then a ticklish sensation danced across the back of her knees, and she found herself desperately trying to restrain a giggle as her hands clenched into weak fists. "Stop that...!"
- With that tense whisper, she felt her body giving off a profuse shiver as she fought to keep her eyes open, and focused on the yard. Someone was going to see her at this rate!
- "Tickle tickle!" Whatever it was being used to torment her, it was extremely effective, and she felt her swaying breasts responding to her excited state... in the worst way. That fragile binding was proving to be far less effective than she'd hoped, and the flimsy cloth was soon hanging down from her chest instead of even remotely covering it.
- Saya was effectively sitting there topless before long.
- And in mere moments, someone was going to see her that way unless she did something.
- Sayaka had just gotten to safety. The last thing she wanted was to give it up. "S, stop, please, y-...you can have ice cream, or-...or anything, quit it!" She whispered into the opening of the window, bringing her voice as loud as she dared without drawing attention.
- Then, blessedly, the gleeful tickling at her thighs ceased. "...you said anything!"
- A set of hands was nice enough to push the window up above her pained back... and she frantically clamored backward to get inside, closing the window roughly before turning towards Ryunosuke. Saya was still red in the face as she stared down at him with a demanding look.
- "Now look, I'm in charge here, so..." Yank. Ryunosuke was smiling sweetly as he took up the tiny length of cloth which had been given the ridiculous task of covering his sitter's considerable bust, and pulled until the fragile knot came undone. "...this isn't yours, Saya..."
- "G, give that back!" It dawned on her then that the kitchen was pretty well lit... and there wasn't much of anything hiding her figure from that smirking kid's prying eyes.
- Then it dawned on her that, well, asking for that back was somewhat silly, given that she had far better options... or was supposed to. "W-...where'd you put my clothes?" So she had to cut right to the important question, though a lot of the fire left her voice as Saya was resigned to meekly covering herself.
- A chilling giggle was her response. "Oh, they're hidden! I'll tell you where once you keep your promise..."
- Oh. That. "...w, what do you want?..."
- The youthful boy looked over the fidgeting girl before him, his imagination dancing.
- "I want a bed time story!"
- Well that wasn't so ba-
- "This one!" And her own trashy romance novel was staring her in the face.
- "I am NOT reading you that!" What a pervert! Saya wouldn't give him the satisfaction of having her stumble through a live reading of THAT book. Although she was pretty sure she could have winged it enough to keep its contents vague to Ryunosuke, it was keeping her own composure in the meantime that worried her.
- The boy pouted. He really hadn't cared one bit about the book itself, but watching her reactions to it had sure been fun! Ryunosuke had no idea why some stupid story could get a girl so worked up. It didn't even have pictures.
- That was fine, though. Instead of throwing the tantrum that Saya had braced herself for, the boy just smiled.
- Oh she hated that smile.
- "...all our ice cream's gone." Saya twitched involuntarily. That WAS kind of her fault, wasn't it?...
- "Y, yeah, so?" A babysitter was entitled to food! It was part of the job description.
- "So go buy us more!"
- "WHAT!? I can't go out like this, I'd get arrested!"
- Ryunosuke just giggled, as if that had already been considered. The boy wandered out of the room and sprinted back in under ten seconds, tossing the vulnerable girl a folded up bundle of cotton.
- A very familiar bath towel.
- "So go in that! Once you get back, your stuff'll be here!" Spoken as if it were the best offer ever.
- No, way. It was almost midnight... if not past that. The convenience store was probably open, sure. It was barely a block away, yes... and there probably wouldn't be anyone there besides some dazed clerk. But this was nuts...
- And yet... for some crazy reason, Saya was finding it the least awkward option available to her.
- All assuming Ryunosuke was telling the truth.
- "...how will I pa-..." The kid had thought of everything. Within the folds of the towel that she reluctantly unfolded and concealed herself with, as it was far preferable to standing there in the nude, had been a crisp 1000 yen bill.
- So while looking to the towel, the money, and the grinning boy, it was made very clear.
- The ball was in Saya's court.
- A glance to the clock. 12:05AM. She still had no idea who had been outside asking after her. It had to have been a neighbor. Had the parents come home they'd have been inside already.
- It wasn't a very reassuring thought. Though if she made it there and back without a moment's delay... 15 minutes. Maybe 20? That was a huge if, though. "...I can't go barefoot."
- With that reply made audible, the boy's smile had 'I win' plastered all over it. Then he just gestured by the door. Sayaka glanced over. Sure enough, there were no shortage of shoes... and a pair of black slip-ons that looked around her size.
- Her left foot slipped into one and confirmed as much. A little loose, but they'd certainly stay on. One hand traced the front of the towel's red fabric in an idle motion while her other hand clenched the folded bill tightly within her palm.
- "You better not open this door for anyone until I'm back!" ...especially not their parents... but part of her was, again, stubbornly trying to be responsible.
- "I won't, Miss Saya.... hurry back..." With a little giggle, Ryunosuke waved with a carefree gesture that made her want to slap him.
- Instead she went out into the cool night and heard the door close behind her. She had to get this over with.
- Blessedly, the streets had gone quiet, as if an unspoken curfew had gone into effect. Maybe it had! Oh, she could only hope.
- Without wasting a moment of this supposed luck, she was soon on the sidewalk and moving swiftly down the road, staying close to the walls of the assorted homes.
- The streets were empty, but every so often a dim overhead light and an empty car would remind her where she was.
- As long as no one saw her, Saya tried to remind herself it didn't matter. Her memory served her well. Soon she reached the end of the road, and across the narrow one-lane intersection was a simple convenience store with a open-view wall which doubled a a clear window, and a narrow door beside it.
- The lights inside confirmed what she already suspected; it was open. Twenty-four hours, most likely. Some warned it was a deliquent hang-out at this time of night. Thankfully that seemed false, there wasn't a soul outside. Hopefully her fortune lasted.
- A hesitant look to either side, before she tucked the towel as tightly around her body beneath her arms as she could... and headed inside with a light ding-ding of a chime that felt like a spotlight being shined on her.
- Instead she just heard a faint, bored voice utter in the distance. "Welcome."
- Not even in her line of sight. So far so good. She pulled the entrance door tightly shut behind her, made a beeline for the cooler at the other end, and opened it with a immediate wince from the resulting cold air.
- Something she was even remotely dressed for contending with.
- Saya had her selection in a moment, and with the container in hand, she shoved the cooler shut to seal off the chilled air. She sighed lightly and passively ran her hand along her side in an attempt to hold back a shiver.
- All she had to do was buy it and leave. Maybe the clerk wouldn't even notice. So she glanced to her right, unable to ignore the obstacle of her own bare shoulder right in her line of sight, before reluctantly heading down the aisle which would take her to the counter.
- Her fingers traced the material of the single bill before she stopped and looked to her right at the assortment of random items for sale. Not much of note. Toiletries, snacks, a few DVDs...
- "Raincoats, 600Y." A tiny selection of hanging, translucent fabric, obviously meant for emergency protection from the rain... and not much else. But if worn over a towel... maybe, just maybe, she could pass for being dressed.
- Then... there was the ice cream.
- 450Y.
- "...oh, come on..."
- Another glance off to the side, at the counter still mostly invisible to her. She could just fulfill her promise and head back, but if someone saw her with just a towel on, there'd be no real explaining it.
- But... if Saya went back empty-handed, what would Ryunosuke do? Would he even let her in?
- It was 50 lousy yen. Saya was confident she could convince the attendant to let her purchase both. She really didn't want to leave the store without either, and besides... she liked to think she was pretty good looking. How hard would it be for a towel-clad girl to coerce a clerk?
- For once, she felt renewed confidence building up as she took the raincoat off the rack and slowly approached the counter.
- Then when the bored youth behind the counter looked Saya in the eye, she felt her brief rush of confidence drain instantly.
- It was a girl. Obviously a student just trying to get some extra cash for tuition, judging by the open text book in front of her.
- The female was sitting on a stool, leaned to one side with her chin resting in her left hand, and she was rather nonchalant as she commented on the sight of the barely-dressed girl across from her. "Um... pretty sure you're supposed to wear pants in here, too."
- Saya went red in the face at the casual remark. As if the bath towel wasn't telling enough, it did only reach to mid-thigh, and there sure wasn't much left to the imagination from there to her footwear.
- "L, long story. Listen, um..." Trying to get her mind back on the task at hand, she set the raincoat and the ice cream down, and the folded up bill. "...I need both of those before I go back, but... I'm a little short."
- "Yeah, I can tell."
- Saya held back a wince at the scathing comment. Talk about hitting low. "Could you... um... well, help me out a little? That's all I had with me..."
- The female stared at Saya for a moment longer, leaving her feel even less dressed, before she straightened and unfolded the bill, giving it a measured look before looking to the other two items.
- "With tax you're 100 yen short. That's a big deal, lady."
- Of all the people... a finance-particular clerk.
- "Look, I can't go back without them, I'll... well, it's pretty important..." Saya's voice lowered, becoming slightly more pleading.
- "Well, you don't have to explain register shortages, now do you?"
- "N, no, but..."
- "I guess you better pick something else, then, or get out before I call the locals." The girl smiled coldly as she lightly patted her hand against the counter.
- "You wouldn't..." Would they even answer something so petty?
- "Nah, that would be pretty nasty." The smile gave way to a smirk before she leaned her head into her hand again, fixing the toweled girl with another one of those amused looks.
- "...but I'm not a charity, and I don't have money to give you."
- "There has to be somethi-..."
- "You could leave me your towel."
- "...I can d-...WHAT!?"
- The attendant gave a nod and sat back, with her arms folded as if she were laying out a very well-planned business deal. "Sure. Take the ice cream and the raincoat, leave the towel, go on your merry way. You can keep the shoes."
- "...What the heck is a towel worth to you?..."
- "You'd be surprised the type of people we get in here at night, I'm sure someone'll pay 100 yen for it if I say some girl came in wearing it and nothing else."
- The thought was scary. Scarier still, Saya kind of believed it.
- "...that's all I can do?" Saya responded in a nervous whisper, and the girl nodded.
- "For what it's worth, you could be naked for all I care. It's a nice change of pace from the usual weirdos."
- "...fine. I'm putting it on first, though."
- "Fair's fair."
- A quick look to the door and the clear window to ensure she wasn't visible from either, before she unfolded the flimsy raincoat and pulled it on over her shoulders. It was button-down, thankfully... but it really was just about transparent. Not a big deal with a towel on under it, but without...
- As if hoping for some sympathy, Saya looked to the attendant... who was reading again like nothing was even happening.
- At least she wasn't staring. With a defeated sigh, she turned to one side, reached beneath the coat... and undid the towel, letting it fall to her ankles before swiftly buttoning up the plastic 'garment'.
- "H, here." As red-faced as ever, Sayaka leaned over and pushed the bundled up towel across the counter.
- "Want a bag?" The girl barely seemed to care about the practically exposed female across from her.
- "...yes."
- "Be careful." With that calm remark, the clerk made the single bill vanish from view, and in its stead she was given a small bag to carry her purchase. Saya looked to the clock and felt her pulse quicken. 12:20. She had to get out of there!
- "You... you better get something for that!" After that was exclaimed, she was not wasting another moment. Saya moved quickly towards the window and in the direction of the door... when just around the corner from the last aisle, the bell chimed.
- Sayaka froze up and hid behind the end of the shelf, staring downward as the craziness of her decision finally dawned on her.
- The thin material rested perfectly against the fronts of her breasts, her curves and nipples plain as day... not to mention the rest of her body.
- She placed her right palm against the hem of the raincoat to conceal her pelvic area, as the extent barely reached past her waist. Footsteps were already approaching.
- Enough delaying, and no silly risks either. Sayaka waited only long enough to ensure the steps were approaching down the aisle closest to the door. Once that was confirmed, she ducked low, headed down the adjacent aisle, and swiftly passed through the door with a light ding the only sign she was ever there.
- Then she was outside again, the night dark and cool as ever... if not more of both. Okay... no worries. Just down the sidewalk, down the block, she'd deliver the ice cream, and be home free.
- Before heading back the way she came, Saya gave a quick look to her right, making sure she wasn't giving anyone a free view. That didn't seem to be the case, so she moved as quickly down the sidewalk as she could without breaking into a full-on run, for obvious reasons.
- Her arms were limited in their use, since one hand to hold onto the bag of ice cream... but at some point she decided the unoccupied of the two was best put to use across her breasts, so the other one kept the bag close to her pelvis.
- Not too close, though. Geez, it was cold. The walk was proving to be leisurely enough. She was soon halfway there and approaching the block of her destination... and she froze up before nearing the next dim illumination of another streetlight.
- There was a car parked alongside the road. One that had not been there before. Parked in front of her present place of employment.
- And it was running.
- The lights were on, and she could hear the engine. She couldn't get any closer without being in plain sight of whoever was inside.
- "Oh come on, who the heck would-..." No. Oh no, no, no... Saya had thought it seemed a little familiar. She had to be sure.
- A quick look to either side, and she went into the road, ducking her head low to walk at a crawling pace towards the rear of the car, cradling that invaluable parcel in her lap as she stopped behind the bumper.
- A glance around the side, so she could get a glimpse at the window... someone was inside. Two people were inside. Saya could hear their voices, and it sounded like a heated conversation.
- Though that ice cream was cold as ever, and bound to melt eventually... on that note, she moved it off to her side rather than let it distract her further.
- She could still hear the talking from the car, and it had her leaning up for a better listen. Saya didn't like being subject to domestic disputes... on the other hand, it did give her a chance to do... something...
- So the parents were home. That was bad.
- They hadn't yet left their car, though... that was good. Although Saya was dying to know what was going on in that car, she realized it was no time to indulge her stubborn curiosities.
- Going past the car and straight into the yard wasn't very bright, either. Who knew how she'd explain why she was out of the house, much less how she looked.
- That left her only alternative as being the adjacent home off to her left, the open yard practically beckoning her over.
- Far be it from Saya to turn down the offer. She gave the running car a reluctant look, before moving towards the neighboring home in a low kneel. It was mostly dark, just the yard of the other home.
- Though Saya obviously hadn't thought one part through too well... how she would get into the other yard. There was a fairly imposing wall separating the two, not anything she could easily climb up onto.
- Though... there was the back yard. Maybe it lead out into another road, and she could get into Ryunosuke's from there!
- It was worth a shot. The breeze of the night air was starting to get to her, though... Saya made a mental note to be quick about moving past the side of the home, and her hand stayed low to keep the flimsy material from fluttering about.
- What kind of rain was something like that meant to protect from, anyway, a drizzle? Maybe she should've stuck with the towel...
- Then ...a droplet of water struck her foot. She stared up in disbelief. No way. Sayaka's luck wasn't that awful, was it?
- It couldn't have been! There wasn't a cloud in the sky...
- Except...
- The yard did have sprinklers.
- Within the next moment, the water was sprinkling in full force around the grass, each device scattering chilled droplets of water everywhere, easily high enough to reach her stomach and especially her exposed legs.
- Saya gave a stifled gasp and looked around in a panic. She had to get out of that yard! Her legs were rapidly becoming drenched, and if she didn't do something fast, the rest of her would be too... and she didn't trust that raincoat to hold up THAT well.
- During that disoriented moment in which that she tried to think of a way out, Sayaka felt a particularly cold burst of water splash against the insides of her thighs, and that drew a more audible cry from her. She responsively shoved both hands against the front of the clear material to cover her lower body while she held her legs close together, barely managing to keep a weak grip onto the bag.
- Saya couldn't stay in the yard without any pants on, could she? She was getting distracted enough just standing there!
- No point heading back the way she came... and she couldn't afford to run around in the grass getting wet hoping to find shelter. Saya briefly considered the neighbor's house, but that was a fast track to getting arrested.
- That only left the wall separating the two homes. Saya had no idea how she would scale it, though, especially the way things were.
- ...of course, there was still the backyard... and the smaller fence perpendicular to the taller wall.
- Saya had obviously made up her mind in short order. Before long she was climbing up the fence, no easy feat in slip-on shoes, and carefully reaching up to the wall.
- It was at her waist level from the height of the fence, so pulling up onto it wasn't difficult at all... putting the ice cream up first had been the trickiest part.
- Eventually she had a vantage point from which to view the parents yard, and the faint sight of the vehicle... and it was from there that she slowly swung her legs over... and tumbled down into the grass, the bag still in hand.
- Saya was quickly on her feet, brushing off stray blades of green from everywhere she could, before hurrying to the nearest window and rapping her fist against it.
- "...o, open up, I brought your stupid..." The nearby back door slid open, and a grinning Ryunosuke appeared. "...took you long enough, lady..."
- The boy looked over the damp girl innocently, as if he was totally not to blame. "...where'd the towel go?"
- "Don't ask..." She gave a backward glance then quickly headed in, though not without Ryunosuke taking what was technically his... it wasn't Saya's money that bought it, anyway.
- Before the boy could begin devouring the ice cream, Sayaka fixed him with a glare and leaned over, setting her palm firmly on his shoulder. "...now where're my clothes?!"
- It gave Ryunosuke something of an eyeful, but she was a little past caring about modesty.
- "Oh, they're in the drier." "...they better be!" With that parting threat, Saya ran into the living room and dashed up the stairs.
- It was very quiet upstairs. Makoto was still fast asleep, she assumed... she hoped. She was again barefoot as she approached the washer. After tossing the wet raincoat into the upper unit, she leaned over the drier and opened it.
- Sure enough, her clothes were in there... sort of. They were extremely warm, like they had been left there for the entire time she was gone. Probably because they had been.
- That explained why they barely looked able to fit her anymore.
- "T, that little..." "Gotcha!" The telltale giggle came from the smiling boy behind her, a spoon in one hand and an open container in the other. "I can't wear these...!"
- Ryunosuke pouted, as if that wasn't what he wanted to hear. "W~ell, I guess not... I could get you another couple towels..."
- The boy rocked on his feet innocently, at around the time she heard the front door unlatching. The sound of a key turning.
- Saya wasn't wearing a towel again. She'd gone that route and saw how well that had ended up... and neither end result had been too desirable. (Well, one might've been, but Saya remained very glad she hadn't let herself go there.)
- "These'll do, go lie down before you get us all in trouble!" Ryunosuke, for once, appeared genuinely panicked. They wouldn't like him being awake that late any more than Saya would like having to explain it.
- So miraculously, he did as she said and vanished into the room, though the ice cream went with him. That was Ryunosuke's problem to deal with, she'd hopefully be gone before anyone could ask her about it.
- Of course, first she had to get dressed. Saya hurried into the bathroom, confirming her suspicion... there hadn't been another bath towel for her to use anyway. What had that brat expected her to wear, a couple of wash cloths?
- The thought made Sayaka shiver involuntarily. Not as much as attempting to put on her underclothes did, though. The blouse and skirt could still be worn, but her bra and panties were far too shrunken to force her way into. They'd tear if she tried, much less stay on. She'd just have to do without them.
- Sayaka's skirt wound up being tighter... and fractionally shorter, but hopefully they wouldn't think much of it. Now her blouse would easily draw the most notice. It only covered her to above the midriff, and had quite the tight fit against her chest.
- Would the parents notice or question why her attire was so out of sorts? Sayaka had no time to dwell on that, so she hurried downstairs... though not without quickly grabbing a familiar book from a nearby coffee table.
- There went the last trace of worrisome evidence, just in time for the door to open, and for Saya to look up innocently from the sofa towards the entrance. She feigned a drowsy but awake expression and a stifled yawn while greeting them.
- "Oh, they're fast asleep up stairs... they haven't said much since they turned in. Haha..." She couldn't help a small nervous laugh as she gave a vague motion towards the stairs.
- Saya made sure they couldn't notice the suggestive appearance of her upper body, or at least she concealed it as best she could.
- As for the ineffective underwear, well... hopefully no one would go searching through the bathroom garbage before disposing of it, otherwise someone would be due for an interesting explanation.
- Both the parents seemed skeptical to that comment, but with a whisper from the mother, four 1000 yen bills were produced and handed over to her. "Thanks, Miss S! Well, I..." Another forced yawn. "...really need to head home now... best let them sleep, it's been a long night..." Neither knew what to make of that comment either. Saya didn't bother with an explanation either, she just slid the money into a skirt pocket, waved, and headed out.
- It was almost 1AM... she could still catch the last bus of the night if she hurried. So she did. The empty corner had no one waiting except for a couple of birds who flew off when she approached.
- With an exhausted sigh, she lowered into the bench and sat back, glancing at her book while idly flipping through it. It seemed to pale in comparison to the story she could weave after a night like that.
- Still... she did kind of want to know what else was going to happen.
- Her page was still marked, too. So she continued reading as if she never stopped.
- Fortunately, having clothes on meant she wasn't quite as susceptible to its heated contents as before... but it was still pretty intense. The two lovers had been really bold, too. Saya could even feel her breathing picking up as she read about their daring actions. Someplace public, no less!
- She shifted in her seat, rubbing a little at her neckline when...
- Whirr. Saya looked up with a blink and realized the bus was waiting, with a barely conscious driver beckoning her to enter through the door.
- She shook her head and held the book behind her as she climbed the small flight of stairs. "200 yen." "Ah, of cour-..."
- Her free hand went into her skirt pocket to produce the money... and felt only thin air. The pocket was so tiny... how had 4000 yen ever stayed in there?
- It hadn't, of course. It had to have fallen out while she ran to the stop.
- Shoot. Well, it just meant she would have to walk a few more blocks. "Sorry, I forg-"
- "..." Saya stared at the driver, who stared back at her. Rather, at her blouse. Confused, she cast her gaze downward, and she realized why.
- The blouse had begun to tear from the center collar on down, and a significant amount of cleavage was made pretty evident as a result. Worse... her skirt was doing the same from the waistband, and a subtle hint of her pelvic incline could be seen too.
- One would probably assume a girl her age would have sense enough to wear underwear in a normal situation... but given the hour and the fact that she had no money, the driver assumed the worst.
- "Out, girl." "But I, um-..." She stared over to the empty vehicle, and back at the driver helplessly. It was at least three blocks to her home.
- There had to be some way she could persuade him to let her stay... all while she struggled to keep her reduced clothing from tearing further.
- Sayaka had gone through hell to get that money! She wasn't about to just let some random jerk take it!
- "Please give me a minute or two! I promise I'll be back!"
- The driver could have been a stone wall for all he seemed to care, but Saya had no time to wait in hopes he'd be nice enough to hear her out.
- She gave a look behind her, ensuring the coast remained clear, then she stepped right down from the bus and began quickly retracing her steps.
- As for her clothes, well, she held onto the tearing portions of each garment for dear life. Saya wouldn't let it the tearing continue on her watch, she sure wouldn't be allowed on that bus if she became indecent, or worse..
- Bad thought. Okay, she had only run down the street. Four bills couldn't be too hard to spot, even in the breezy night.
- Then she spotted a tiny cyclone of paper in the alcove of a nearby curb. Each of the bills were there... and, miraculously, undamaged, if a bit wrinkled.
- Saya hurried over to the other side of the road, gave a look around, then knelt down to gather up the lost money into her lap, then gripping the yen tight within her fist before keeping the hand close to the part in her skirt.
- She wasn't losing them again.
- Okay, she just had to get back to the...
- Whirr. The bus was moving from its spot. Kind of a surprise it had waited that long... and she also saw the telltale 'Not In Service' indicator on the back.
- "Waaait!" Raising her voice as loud as she could, she took off with another sprint. She felt the wind blowing around her as if to obstruct her every move, but Saya wasn't daunted.
- Then just before the bus was about to round the corner that would take it out of her sight and resign her to a long walk... it stopped.
- The door slid open as she halted in front of it with a heavy gasp of breath.
- "Y, you... waited..."
- "500y."
- "WHAT?! That's double the fare...!"
- "You want to walk the rest of the way?"
- "....fine." While Saya's left arm stayed against her chest, with a book very firmly in hand, she carefully produced a 1000 yen bill and slid it into the slot. The light clatter of five coins hitting the dispenser were the only thanks she got in response.
- With red-faced annoyance, she reached out for the coins and put them in the depths of her pocket. Those would probably stay, but the bills wouldn't leave her grip.
- Sayaka went to the middle of the bus contrary to her initial thought of hiding in the back. The middle was closest to an exit door in case she needed to leave in a hurry, and she kind of wanted to be visible. Who knew if anyone weird would wind up getting on. But the bus was out of service...
- Without anything else to occupy her thoughts, she tried to relax. Saya sat back and opened the book in her lap, her mind clouding over in favor of finishing her story.
- She cuddled up in the corner, leaning her head down by the window as found the words looking very blurry. Deservedly, Saya was feeling pretty sleepy. The bus would be there in five minutes, a little nap couldn't hurt.
- She leaned into the chairs and before long felt consciousness leave her.
- Sayaka awoke with a startled sound, as if she were abruptly roused from a deep sleep with the knowledge that she had a very pressing matter to take care of. Her thoughts still felt a little on the dizzy side, but she was awake. "...mm."
- She sat up with a lithe stretch, sitting up in the cool bus chair as she looked around... wait, why was it so dark?
- And why was she so receptive to the fabric of the chair beneath her? Two alarming thoughts registered with her as her vision cleared.
- One, the bus was stopped... also, apparently empty, not to mention silent.
- Two, she was naked.
- Her book was nestled gently in the cusp of her legs, and a uselessly split skirt and torn blouse were lying scattered around her, torn clean down the center.
- Well... Sayaka wasn't entirely naked. She had her shoes on. "No way, not cool..." She folded her hands over her lap frantically as she stared out of the window, then to the front of the bus.
- The driver was gone. What on earth had happened?! The street was dim, but well lit enough... and she recognized her house in the distance.
- This was her street. The bus was stopped on the corner, a good block away. Maybe it broke down?
- Why would the driver leave her, though!? Sayaka didn't know, and didn't have time to investigate. The door to her right was closed, but it had an emergency latch.
- She could still get out and go... but she had to decide what to take with her. The garments could barely be called anything resembling clothing, but they were there and she could still fashion something out of them... hopefully
- The clothes were useless. Trying to keep them on would just waste Sayaka's time... not to mention how unlikely they'd be to even do any good against the night wind.
- The book was non-negotiable, though. Not just for the silly reason that she felt unwilling to part with it, but it was also a far more secure way of holding onto her earnings.
- Saya reluctantly opened the textbook and made sure the remaining bills were snugly secure within the page she had marked earlier, then pushed the book shut. Then she did what she most dreaded doing.
- Sayaka rose to her feet, idly adjusting her loose footwear, and gave her tattered clothing one parting look before she left the seat behind and descended the tiny flight of stairs to the emergency door.
- It only took one shove from her right arm to push the door open, and it gave way to the chilly evening air. If ever she wanted to second-guess her crazy notion, that was her last chance.
- No, it was only a block. Sayaka could do this, especially after enduring so much worse that very night. No one would be out at this hour!
- So Saya took in a deep breath, and moved through the door, each of her arms set squarely across the front of her body, the one with the book against the space between her legs. There would be no explaining if she was seen, but... the minute amount of modesty helped. A little.
- The sound of the door slamming shut and locking behind her made her cringe. That was the final nail in the coffin of having any chance of using her clothing.
- So all that was left was for Sayaka to hurry. She ran for all she was worth, her hair fluttering behind her as her clutching arm kept her curvature steady, while her other hand kept the book protectively nestled against her lap.
- "A, almost... there..." She whispered to herself in a small, reassuring tone as she ran past the corner, a dim street lamp, even an unlit home or two.
- No time to look or even think, Sayaka just ran forward without hesitation. She had almost made it halfway there when she saw someone on the sidewalk in front of the next house down.
- Had she not stopped on a dime, she could have crashed right into them. Instead Sayaka froze up and moved back in a panic, hugging the wall to her right and hiding her body behind a light pole, as it was all she had to use as cover.
- Who the heck was out at that time of night!? As she slowly calmed down her heavy breathing, trying not to think of the sweat she'd probably started working up, she reluctantly peered around the corner, backward over her bare shoulder.
- A bicycle, with a basket of newspapers. The only person who had any good reason being out in the early morning. It figured. There had been a figure there, but they must have left it behind to take a paper to her neighbor's.
- Well, no big deal, they were heading the other way, obviously. All Saya had to do was wai-
- "Is someone there?" The light voice made her heart almost jump into her throat. She stared down frantically, comparing the outline of her body to the pole. No one could see her, right? No, it did hide her... from that person's point of view. No such luck if anyone passed by or came the other way, of course. Calm down girl, no way that person saw you.
- Then she heard a sigh and the sound of a kick stand leaving the ground. Obviously they decided they were seeing things. Sayaka tried to relax, and realized her palms were sweating. She brushed her upper hand off on her shoulder, and extended her lower hand to relax its grip on her book and ease the tension in her fingers.
- The sound of the small book hitting the sidewalk was like a gunshot in the silent road. It fell just off to her right, in plain sight. No, no, no! She stared down to the fallen book, and behind her at the departing bike. The wind was already beginning to sift through her pages. If she didn't do something immediately, her money was gone!
- While she mentally flailed for a way to retrieve the lost text, she saw it already gliding away from her location beside the pole... and out of the corner of her eye, a young delivery boy could be seen picking it up with a confused expression.
- " 'Impulsive Instinct'? What kind of deviant would read trash like that?" That must have been the boy's rejecting any idea of keeping it, because a second later it was tossed into a trash can beside the road, and he was off on his bike, vanishing around a nearby corner.
- Deviant!? How dare he! Whatever, he was gone, Sayaka had her chance. She gave a look around and ran out of cover to the trash can, leaning over it at the waist for a heart-stopping moment as she grabbed the book off the top of the pile of refuge. Thankfully she hadn't had to plunge her arms into any kind of real mess.
- Another nervous look around, ensuring no one had seen a revealing sight like that... if someone had, surely a fuss would've been made by now.
- Saya brushed her book off and gave a deep sigh of relief, noticing its valuable contents were untouched. Then she clutched it close to her stomach, and threw all caution to the wind.
- She was too close to bother with subtlety, the girl went into an all-out run for her home and passed through the open gate.
- "I... ah...made... it..." She let the book fall to the ground as she pushed her hands against her legs and caught her breath, again. Sayaka was done running for the immediate future.
- She looked behind her once her breathing was settled, and knelt, retrieving a key from beneath the doormat. At least SHE had been prepared.
- No one was there to be worried about her, either. Saya's parents were always working until much later in the morning, and her little sister was fast asleep. Or so she thought... a light was on upstairs, and she heard voices. A slumber party, of all the nights!
- That girl did have really sharp hearing, and would doubtlessly hear her coming up the stairs. So Saya decided just to crash on the sofa. It was a little after 2AM, they'd surely be asleep soon, and she could go upstairs before anyone was the wiser.
- She tumbled backward with a heavy exhalation as her legs curled over the far end of the comfortable furniture.
- Then, of all things, she giggled, stretching her arms out over the length of the cushions as she swayed her feet in a carefree gesture, kicking off her shoes. In hindsight, that had been kind of exciting. And no one had been the wiser, aside from some overnighter at a convenience store. It would make one heck of a story if Saya dared tell anyone.
- A shame she couldn't do that. Though... the lamp behind her was just dimly lit enough to finish experiencing one. What the heck, she needed something to calm down with after a run like that. Sayaka was still a little wired, after all.
- So she relaxed her swaying feet over the edge of the sofa, rested her head down, and held the book up over her collar to read the last few paragraphs of the chapter.
- Wait a second... the guy had left her there? Sure enough, after their impulsive encounter, Sayaka found the protagonist had woken up with most of her clothing gone and the rest in nothing resembling a wearable state, having to get out of the park with only her wits and some tattered fabric. Wow, talk about coincidences... it definitely had Sayaka's pulse racing a little. If only she could get an experience like that, she'd have to ask her boyfriend one day.
- "Yeah... that'd be nice..." She felt her hips shift back and forth a little as she set her head back against the sofa, whispering dreamily before resting the book down over her breasts and her other hand over her lap. Sayaka felt much more relaxed then. The last thing she felt before drifting off into a peaceful sleep was the contenting sensation of her hand nestled against her waistline, and a vaguely warm sensation.
- "Ah!" She woke up suddenly, sitting up with a gasp. Sayaka hugged her book to her chest, realizing she was still very much naked.
- And the hand wedged between her thighs was very wet. "...oh no, I-... I was just having a dream, right...!?" She sat up frantically, realizing the blanket beneath her had a telltale dampness from she had been lying. If she had merely been dreaming, it was entirely the wrong kind to have in her living room. What time was it!?
- Sayaka swirled her head as her hair scattered around her bare shoulders. 6:30AM! She had to clean up all that mess, get a shower, and get dressed!
- She stumbled to her feet as her knees buckled, leaving the book behind as she covered her moist lower body with both hands. How could she have done something like that?!
- Her footing felt unbearably clumsy as she headed for the stairs. No problem, she had plenty of time to jump into the shower and do a laundry!
- Then she froze up at the bottom of the stairs, staring up blankly at a girl in a nightgown a couple years younger than her.
- Her next door neighbor.
- The other girl looked over the nude girl, down then up, then remarked, sleepily.
- "Um, could you get out of my house?"
