we just drove out here
bout 45 minutes from home
couldnt find the exact spot
but we parked on the main road
it was. completely quiet
great view of the stars, gibbous moon
we were parked with the lights of the car off and not one other car even came on the same road
but
we were facing away from the side it's on
(where we came, it was on the left; i parked the car on the left shoulder and we were standing out of it facing right)
after about 5 minutes or so
we heard the strangest noise i've ever heard
i can't replicate it
it was very deep but not raspy at all
a roar? but not a roar
katelyn got scared to death so we immediately left
so it wasn't a bear, bobcat/other large cat, dog or boar
it kind of fluctuated
it came from the direction we were facing and it was close enough that we heard the sound before the echo
(trees)
but we didn't hear anything else
no rustling, no crunch of leaves, snapping of twigs. anything
it reminded me of the audio clip marry sent a million years ago
that he got on his back porch

yeah
now i think i'm rational
i cant really rationalize it
i mean it's not exactly a tourist attraction
couldve potentially been some kind of mounted speaker but
the stretch of road it's on is mostly private property
the "lore" behind it is fascinating
it's like an 80 foot circle where nothing grows
stuff moves if placed there
a reporter camped overnight to disprove anything paranormal but his dogs and he himself heard footsteps the whole night, etc
we saw a pure white cat cross the road on the way, a pure white bunny cross after, and a pure white dog walking on the road about three miles from it
i turned around to follow the dog because there were only two houses nearby and it turned down one of the driveways
it was fuckin huge
looked like a lab mix
it was all very unsettling
katelyn said "skinwalker"
i didnt see anything reflect light as we left so i have no idea
the plan is to go back tomorrow with a little more light
i cant mimic the sound at all
my voice is too raspy if i do anything gutteral
but that the thing, it wasnt gutteral! just low and wavering
