Walk a mile through a city of snow
	Where icicles sparkle, but nothing glows.
	The more that you bundle, the colder you grow.
		Don’t let the shivers of coldness show.

Walk a mile through a forest at night
	Where darkness and fear may claim your sight
	And the candle you burnt no longer gives light.
		Don’t let what you cannot see give you fright.

Walk a mile through a cavern of fire
	Where the walls try to ask you, then call you a liar:
	“To what end do you aspire?”
		…to stand up and fight, with a chin ever higher.

To walk ten more miles through a cavern of fire,
	To walk ten more miles through a forest at night,
		To walk ten more miles through a city of snow.


	Now walk in the shoes of someone you don’t know.
