  1. >"So this is it Anon!" Twilight runs down the hill down to Ponyville
  2. >You walk after her to the small town
  3. >"Will I be able to stay here? As the wreck I ended up in is not suitable."
  4. >She slows down her pace a bit
  5. >"Well... I guess you could stay at my place, everypony else around here would be pretty spooked be you."
  6. >You chuckle to yourself at the silly portmanteau
  7. >"Thank you, I appreaciate the hospitality."
  8. >Twilight turns down a down a long street as you enter the town, down towards the end of the street you can make out a dimly lit tree-house type structure, she gallops to it
  9.
  10. >"This is it, I guess you can sleep here in the main room." she says opening the front door
  11. >"You live in a tree?"
  12. >"It's actually a library... And a tree."
  13. >You make a note in your Digital Analysis and Communications device, "I guess the architecture here can be more primitive than recently noted."
  14. >You look around you, there are so many books here, you might just be able to complete a majority of your survey from this room
  15. >"I'll have Spike make a proper place for you to sleep. Spike come down here!"
  16. >"But it's like 4 in the morning..." you hear a voice come from upstairs; it's distinctly male
  17. >"Who's Spike?" you ask
  18. >"He's a dragon." you don't like the sound of that
  19.
  20. >"DAC, possible hostile resistance, dragons, blood dragons may exist. Top alert." the device flashes and places all of its sensors on alert
  21. >You still don't entirely believe her, mainly because you don't want to, but you also really don't know what to expect on an alien world
  22. >"Spike!" she was starting to sound bitchy now
  23. >"I'm coming, I'm coming." you hear the same voice as before
  24. >And surely enough a tiny dragon comes down the stairs
  25. >He reaches the bottom of the stairs and the DAC automatically initiates a scan of him
  26. >A bright grid of light appears on the small creature; being projected from the DAC
  27. >He tries to hide behind the purple unicorn
  28. >"TWILIGHT, what is that! Does the princess know about this? Where did you find that?" he is referring to you
  29.
  30. >"That is a human, and you are an excellent source of copper, as well as some platinum alloys that act as a striker in your pallet. It is safe to assume you would breath green fire." your DAC always makes an excellent conclusion
  31. >It talking could be an immediate problem, as you don't want it to provide any hints of your goal of colonization
  32. >You quickly set it to give conclusions in written form, as far as you are aware they can speak English, but they can't read it the way humans write it
  33. >"What does your device mean by 'Source of copper' Anon?
  34. >"It's just trying to state that he contains copper, not allot of creatures contain large amounts of copper."
  35. >"I guess that makes sense." she has a suspicious look on her face
  36. >"So Spike, this is Anon, he's going to be staying here for a while. I need you to help me make a suitable bedding for him."
  37. >Spike gets to work very quickly, he seems like he is used to taking orders
  38.
  39. >A few minutes pass
  40. >You look around at some of the books on the shelves
  41. >You can't read any of it, it's all hieroglyphic jargan
  42. >"Anon, your bed is ready."
  43.
  44. Next post takes place during morning
  45.
  46. >You wake up late in the day
  47. >Twilight and her dragon companion are not home
  48. >There is a note left on the table, it's in that language you can't read
  49. >"This presents a problem." you mutter to yourself
  50. >You sit down and try to think of a solution
  51. >"There has to be some sort of Rosetta Stone type anolog here..." you think through everything you can
  52. >"Right math books, math has to be the same anywhere." so you think their form of English describing it is the same too
  53. >You get to work on scanning pages of math books with the DAC
  54. >It doesn't take long you quickly find out their language is just English with different symbols for their letters
  55. >'Went to check on Rarity. Will be back around 1.'
  56. >You go outside, the sun is approaching it's high point in the sky, you should have about an hour to explore without any restrictions
  57. >"So many places to see, so much time to do it with." you look at the map your ship has sent to your DAC
  58. >There are some nice mountains, there may be ores there, you can also see a city on a mountain side nearby, as well as the town you are currently in
  59.
  60. >You see it would be best to get to the mountain tops and do a scan of the area
  61. >You have to get through the town unnoticed though
  62. >The first thing that you notice is that there is a cart of hay being towed out of town by a big red pony
  63. >There is a smaller blondish haired pony next to the cart
  64. >"This should be enough for to be mighty fittin' for Apploosa's needs." the blonde pony seems chipper
  65. >"Eeyup."
  66. >"Just be sure that this makes it to the train station by noon."
  67. >"Eeyup." the red one seems very compliant
  68. >"The males of the species seem very subordinate, this must be a matriarchy." your DAC takes note
  69. >You look for a train station on the map
  70. >You find something that resembles a train station on Earth, you think to yourself that must be it
  71. >And lucky for you it leads straight to the foothills of the mountains
  72. >You sneak around one the buildings
  73. >When no one is looking you hop into the cart and bury yourself in the hay
  74. >You can feel the cart begin to move
  75.
  76. >Eventually it stops
  77. >"Well this must be it." you whisper
  78. >You have to get to the mountain tops
  79. >According to the DAC finding metals is an important secondary objective
  80.
  81. >You poke your head out of the cart and look around
  82. >You can feel something else in the cart moving around
  83. >A ball of pink comes out and pounces on you
  84. >"I've never seen you before? What's your name? My names Pinkie Pie. Are you playing hide and go seek? Can I play too?"
  85. >It seems your initial assumption that ADHD was prevalent on this planet was correct
  86. >"Ummm... No... This isn't hide and go seek. And my name is Anon" you really don't know what to make of this crazy horse
  87. >"Then what are we playing, Anon?" she has a really quirky smile on her face
  88. >"We are playing capture the flag, the flag is on that mountain." you point off into the distance, "We are in the enemy teams territory, we need to be quiet and stealthy."
  89. >"Okay." she whispers back to you as she gets off of you
  90. >"I'm going to go scout out a place to plan our next move from, you stay here."
  91. >"Okay."
  92. >You slink off and hide near a barrel and a small shed
  93. >You immediately go over the first colonization plans with the DAC
  94. >You read through the texts outlining the procedures
  95. [Scout ship Evincar launch date 3122]
  96. [updated: Earth year 3256]
  97. [New changes from Earth via ancible]
  98. :Propulsion update; instantaneous propulsion achieved 76 years ago
  99. :Do to changes all scouts in the Peoples of Earths Nations Interplanetary society are to call in a Von Neumann Probe to start building copies of itself and to create operational human habitation
  100. :This order is to be given upon finding of significantly large deposits of metals; semiconductor material; especially focusing on Rare Earth metals
  101.
  102. >"Hmmm... I guess allot has changed with technology since being put in cryo." you close out of the file on the DAC
  103. >Just as you say that Pinkie bursts out of the barrel you are next to
  104. >"What's a cryo Anon? Is that like a type of kumquat?"
  105. >You don't question how the heck she got in the barrel, she must just be faster than you
  106. >"Yeah, it is a type of fruit." you really just want this pink horse to go away
  107. >"That's so cool. I got to be in a fruit once, it was a giant strawberry, or maybe it was a pineapple... Pineapple is a fruit right Anon?"
  108. >You have to make her go away
  109. >You call out your Spider Probe, telling it to go explore and meet you back at the library 3 hours after the sun sets, you also tell it to run from anything pink
  110. >"Oh No..." you poorly try to pretend it's some type of tragic accident
  111. >"What is it Anon? Is something Wrong?" she bounces all around
  112. >"My pet got away, can you help me get him?" you point at the little metal spider running across the ground
  113. >"I'll get it! I'll help save your pet Anon." she scampers after it, only making it run faster
  114. >You quickly escape to the mountains and start to ascend it's gradually curving slopes
  115.
  116. >You continue your ascent up the mountain
  117. >It's allot easier for you to exert yourself than it was yesterday, you occasionally stop to eat some of the crackers you have brought with you and drink some water
  118. >After about an hour you finally reach the top, that blasted ADHD horse is already up there, and covered in mud
  119. >"I got... your pet... Anon!" she seems a little exhausted "He just kept... Running, and... Running. But then I tripped into this big puddle of mud and he just stopped running from me."
  120. >"Thanks so much, you really are great you know." you command the Spider Drone to quit the mission you gave it and to return, it crawls over to you and goes back into its case
  121. >"So where is the enemy flag Anon? Is it under these rocks?"
  122. >She quickly starts overturning all the rocks around you
  123. >Her actions reveal a stunning display of gems and glorious metals, you quickly get to work scanning them
  124. >"Did you find the flag Pinkie?"
  125. >"No anon," she seems unphased by all the riches around her "just gems and stuff like gold, the usual really."
  126. >"So it's like this everywhere around here?" you are really perplexed, any normal person, or being you have known in the past would have been euphoric at a sight like this
  127. >"Yeah, this stuff is just rocks." she replies
  128.
  129. >"DAC, Inhabitants do not value gold."
  130. >"Also prepare Von Nuemann probe activation"
  131. >Your device obliges and prompts you with a holographic display of some information on it as well as the activation for it
  132. [Self Replication Probe Activation]
  133. :Mineral requirements met
  134. :Recognition as 'Anon' required
  135. >"This is Anon." you say
  136. :Accepted
  137. >You select where you are as a landing site, and request it's launch
  138. :Launch accepted, ETA ~2 minutes
  139. >Your DAC opens up another prompt window right after the one you were just in closed
  140. [Additional information]
  141. :These probes were recovered from another civilization
  142. :Wiped out during war for colonization
  143. :Our top scientists still do not know how they function in terms of physical means, but they have been successfully reprogrammed for human needs
  144. >"What is that Anon? I've never seen magic like that before, I don't even think my friend Twilight can make light come from their wrist like that." she's gotten back to being bouncy and talking way too much
  145. >"It's special magic, it will help us find the flag."
  146. >You take out your knife and cut out a large square from the red inner lining of your jacket and throw it into a tree when she isn't looking
  147. >"Hey I found it!" you shout out
  148. >She manages to somehow climb up the tree, you didn't really notice her climb up but you say here come out of the branches and get it at the top
  149. >"That was really fun Anon, we should do that again! Have you ever heard of the--" she gets cut off
  150. >There is a blinding flash of blue light
  151. >The probe you called upon has seemed to materialize out of nowhere
  152. >The jet black machine looks has sharp silver spiny protrusions all over it's back and a propulsion device on the back of it that has a eerie blue glow emitting from it
  153. >It hovers above the ground at a height of several meters and immediately starts scanning the rock outcrops, collecting and liquefying meals in small structures on its underside
  154. >The machine has already started to produce a copy of itself
  155. >"RUN! IT'S SOME KIND OF DRAGON! AND NOT THE FRIENDLY KIND!" she bounds off
  156. >You follow as if you had nothing to do with it
  157. >Pinkie looks back, "Run Anon, NOW THERE ARE TWO OF THEM!"
  158. >Looking over her shoulder you can clearly see that she wasn't lying
  159. >The new machine was already hard at work with its creator
  160. >Fuck those things are fast
  161.
  162. >The two of you are running like hell to get back to Ponyville
  163. >Before you know it you are already in the town
  164. >"THERE'S ANOTHER DRAGON UP IN THE MOUNTAINS!" she is screaming at the top of her lungs
  165. >The two of you immediately run over to Twilight's library/tree thing
  166. >She's pounding on the door "TWILIGHT! TWILIGHT! TWILIGHT! TWILIGHT! TWILIGHT! TWILIGHT!"
  167. >The purple pone opens the door
  168. >"What is it Pinkie?" she looks unconcerned, like she is used to putting up with these kinds of antics "I am very busy scheduling a meeting with Anon and the princesses. So this has to be something important."
  169. >"We saw a dragon, Anon and I were playing capture the flag and we saw a dragon, and then there were two dragons, they are up on that mountain over there." she points to the mountain
  170. >Twilight looks at the mountain top and squints "I don't see any hint of..." a hint of bright reds from all the metal work and the blue of the crafts' thrusters interrupt her "Come with me."
  171. >The three of you quickly hustle up to the top floor of her tree where she has a telescope aimed out the window
  172. >She takes a look through the scope
  173. >"What ever those are they aren't dragons. And there are far more than two!"
  174. >"How many of those things are there?" you ask Twilight
  175. >"About 30 or 40..."
  176. >You run some calculations
  177. >At this current rate of growth there will easily be thousands in under 2 hours.
  178. >You send them a command via your DAC to cap them off at 100 so they will stop replicating and start making structures for colonization
  179. >You also make sure to give them access to the information you've collected and the information on the ship in case they need it
  180.
  181. >"I know what they are Twilight." you don't want to have to say what they are but you are compelled do the right thing
  182. >"You do Anon? Are you saying that you brought these things here?" she looks really mad
  183. >"I'm sure he didn't mean it Twilight, it was probably like an accident, we were just playing capture the flag." the pink pony happily defends you
  184. >"No Pinkie, I did bring them here..." you stop as you are still unsure of how to complete the sentence "I brought them here to build new homes, ships, and facilities for my people."
  185. >"YOU CAN'T JUST DO THAT, DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY PROBLEMS YOU MIGHT CAUSE?" she was fucking furious, she tries to calm down a bit, "You- you have not even had an audience with the princesses yet, or even been made known to the rest of the ponies."
  186. >"Can I have an audience with your town then?"
  187. >Twilight just looks at you with a really mad expression on her face
  188. >After a few minutes of trotting around she has an answer, "I guess you can, you deserve at least one chance to explain yourself, I'm going to be requesting that the princesses come here for it though. Be ready to give some sort of presentation tonight, don't mess up, I bet the princesses wont be happy about your actions."
  189.
  190. Next post is later that night.
  191.
  192. >You are essentially all alone now
  193. >Just sitting in Twilight's library flipping through books on their customs and cultures trying to find what will appeal to them in your argument
  194. >There isn't much time left until the meeting, it's almost dark and the ponies are already gathering outside
  195. >"Anon it's time, the princesses have arrived." Twilight seems emotionally drained from all the weird stuff you have caused
  196. >Earlier in the day she was trying to fend your probes out of town, every now and then they would do something like demilitarize a street lamp for metal, or extract the metal from some foals game system
  197. >You quickly told them to avoid the ponies, and the town, but that was only minor
  198. >As you walk outside you can already see starry skies where the mountain used to be, and their are several buildings begging to tower up in its place.
  199. >You walk up to the make shift podium that was assembled for you, it was really just a soap box and a couple of other crates.
  200. >You can see two larger ponies in the back of the crowd with long flowy manes, and they have both wings and horns, none of the others had that
  201. >They must be the princesses
  202. >As soon as you stand up on the podium the white pony speaks to you
  203. >"I am princess Celestia, this is princess Luna, we are the rulers of the land of Equestria. We represent peace and the Elements of harmony." she has a very stern voice, much more official than the other three ponies you have met
  204. >"What is your purpose here? And why have you put a new moving star in my night? Luna is mad
  205.
  206. >"I am Anon, Human, From earth. I am a scout, part of an exploratory team in need of resources your species sees as insignificant. And that is not a star, it's the craft I came here in."
  207. >You have to be very astute and professional with this, you know if you incite war, that they will be wiped clean off their world by humans as easily as a child can erase art off an Etch a Sketch
  208. >"Why do you need our resources? Are there not enough where you came from?" Princess Celestia raises her eyebrow and gives you a disdainful look
  209.
  210. >"Affirmative, our people have used up our planetary resources and require colonies. This would be the 685 colony planet of my finding." you add the planets found by your computer on the way to your destination to your count
  211. >"If you have so many other places at your disposal, then why are you not able to leave us alone and let your people settle somewhere else?" princess Luna brings up an excellent point
  212.
  213. >"Supply and Demand." you say
  214. >The ponies in the audience begin to talk quietly among themselves
  215. >Princess Celestia and princess Luna look at each-other, they give a look of disaproval
  216. >"What do you mean?" says Celestia
  217. >You know that was probably a bad response, but you think hard to rectify it
  218. >"Do you wish to gain economic capital by exploiting us?!" a random pony shouts out of the crowd
  219. >"No, I do not..." you force yourself to think hard
  220. >"This isn't some place you can just sit on and call your own." the same voice calls out
  221. >"He's right you know." other ponies stammer out
  222. >Things quickly get loud
  223. >Then you have an idea
  224. >You call over one of the Replicating probes to come over the group
  225. >When it first arrives there is allot of commotion mainly caused by fear of the unknown
  226. >You tell it to display a hologram
  227. >"What is that?" Luna asks
  228. >"It's one of my machines."
  229. >"We already know that" she says "Twilight has informed us of your... machines. I'm asking what it is showing us?"
  230. >"That is our galaxy, it's what we are in, it is your night, all the blue lines cutting through it are trade routs, see here?" you point to Equestria's location in the galaxy "This is where we are, all the green space way out here is controlled by humans, you are all right here in this small red bottleneck of space, we want to put up a trade and supply route through here, as well as some small colonies for our people."
  231. >The two princesses begin to confer
  232. >"So your main goal is a trading post, and places for the post workers to live?" Celestia asks
  233. >"What is the red area of the map?" Luna looks extremely concerned
  234.
  235. >"Those are irradiated area's. Think of it like an area where if you spend too long there, you get very, VERY sick. Even our technology can block the kinds of radiation there." you say
  236. >"How did it get there?" Celestia asks "And what danger is it to us? It is there, and we and there" she says pointing at the location of the irradiated zones and then to the Equestrian system
  237. >"Well there was a very ancient war that happened in this area between two powerful races, they wiped each-other out, and what was left of their busted ships and empires slowly started to release radioactive materials into space." you say, not sure they get all of it "And as for the red patches locations, they are not permanent, it's going to slowly spread as it has been for thousands of years."
  238. >The two princesses confer as the ponies continue to talk among themselves
  239. >"If we let you set up a base here, will your empire protect us?" Luna asks
  240.
  241. >"Yes, and so will the Galactic Federation Union." you definitely feel that you are on better terms with them "The GFU is an organization of 4 races, including Humans, that are dedicated to peace and exploration." the only thing that you don't tell them is that the GFU really only likes peace in their own organization
  242. >The princesses confer for several minutes
  243. >They are really taking a long time with this
  244. >"We are interested in this... protection you may provide. And possible new friendships with your GFU." Celestia actually seems happy and Luna nods to her words
  245. >"How much land do you need?" Luna asks
  246. >You command the drone to turn off the hologram
  247. >You know your society will need much land to build on
  248. >You look down to the crowd of ponies lit in the moonlight, you really did kinda care about them
  249. >A solution is on the tip of your mind but you just can't name it, you need a shit-ton land, but land that nobody is using here
  250.
  251. >"If your moon has minerals we can use that should suffice......if not.....I don't have a good estimate." this is the make or break for any form of deal or treaty
  252. >The two princesses begin to chat again
  253. >"I have seen the moon's surface..." she gives Celestia the stink eye "I've seen more of the moon than I could have ever wanted... But yes there are many metals there, along with precious stones that you seem interested in." she looks up at the Von Neumann probe, which has a few emeralds held in a small tractor beam type device near its abdomen
  254. >"We just request that you start build on the far side of the moon, so you do not disturb our night. Do you accept?" Celestia seems far less concerned about your ambitions than she was at the beginning of the meeting
  255.
  256. >"I will do that. Thank you." you are elated "I will accept, I'll need to confer with the People of Earths Nations Interplanetary Society, and the GFU on these terms. We will need to have a signing of a formal treaty."
  257. >The princesses confer again
  258. >"We will create the treaty." says Celestia, "The contents of it should reflect our interests, while also supporting your, but we need to make sure that things work in our favor for the safety of our citizens."
  259. >"We would also like to ask that your probes be relocated to the moon." Luna is very serious "We don't want them doing to our world, like they did to that mountain." she points to the mountain, which is no longer a mountain, but a collection of buildings made of stone and metal. "We will let you keep that settlement on the surface, but you may not expand it."
  260. >"Do you have any further questions?" Celestia asks
  261.
  262. >"Well, I have two questions" you say as you let the probe fly off, and command them all to make a jump to the moon and have them begin work on the far side
  263. >"Like, what do you mean by we may not expand this settlement... I have already set up." It's tough for you to talk as you set up the commands telling the probes to go to and build on the far side of the moon
  264. >"We mean that you may no longer add buildings horizontally to the city, you can build vertically, but only with materials gathered from anywhere that isn't Equestria." Celestia states
  265. >"Okay, my second question is what you mean by raise the sun, or control the night?" you are prepared for some religious mumbo jumbo, but you set your DAC up to record this event anyways
  266. >"From what I have been told by Twilight in her letters, your people have no concept of magic, or at least you don't. I can show you this type of power, but I can only show you once."
  267. >Celestias horn begins to glow
  268. >The sun slowly begins to raise, and then she sets it, on the same side of the sky it rose from, a truly spectacular and impossible feat
  269. >You quickly tell your drones to go to the moon, before they move that too
  270. >And in many blue flashes of light, they do, the ponies watch in awe, as if the display were something akin to fireworks
  271. >"I have never seen such a thing before, that is phenomenal." you know the GFU and Earths space organization will be willing to cooperate, if it meant any chance at learning such ability
  272. >Celestia nods "We shall send you a treaty outlining what we have agreed on when we have it completed, meeting adjured."
