  1. <Admerylou> I've never been driven to write a negative business review before. If I have a negative experience I just choose to not support that business again in the future. But, I've never been so horribly treated and exploited by a business before, either. And so now here I am, writing this to warn others to avoid my plight. Approximately one year ago I hired Roto Rooter when my drainage system was backing up. After a few hundred dollars of diagnostics they informed me I needed my drainage system rerouted through my crawl space to avoid the tree roots causing a blockage. We had an estimate from another plumbing company that was less and included replacing the previous pipes instead of rerouting them, but Roto Rooter assured me that the Roto Rooter plan was a better long term solution even if it cost more upfront. We were desperate for a shower and running water and told RotoRooter to do whatever it took to make sure it was fixed correctly. We agreed to allow them to essentially plumb the entire home to permanently fix this issue (for, as you can imagine, an exorbitant amount of money). Fast forward one week after the plumbing was completed to the scene of our house flooding. Again. Despite the thousands in new plumbing. Soft clog we were told, no worries.
  2. <Admerylou> Except it would continue; intermittently the plumbing would slow and back up. Close to a year later with another massive flooding episode, after spending additional hundreds with RotoRooter to service the home, paying for them to pull our toilet and snake a "soft clog" over and over again. Finally, we realized our problem was two fold. One, we still had a plumbing issue. Two, we were still hiring RotoRooter to "fix" it. We hired an independent plumber who discovered that Roto Rooter had rerouted our drainage and hooked it to a line that was nowhere near functional and had not been for years. That wasn't our only problem. The old system hadn't been fully disconnected from the outside of the house, and get ready for it, all of RotoRooters work was completely faulty and to no extent of the law up to code. We learned that the entirety of the work must absolutely be redone. That the plumbers responsible should not have a license and that we should immediately begin documenting and obtaining a lawyer. And so now here we are. Thousands of dollars missing, molding walls and subfloor, a year of stress and exasperation later, hoping that no one's house will ever have to go through what Roto Rooter did to ours. Please, do not ever use this company. Do not recommend them to anyone.
