Proposal for Kopete (GSoC 2010)

Write a protocol plugin for Kopete that enables access to the Xfire gaming network.
Xfire has a lot of features and implementing them all would be too much work, here are the most common:
  * instant messaging (of course)
  * P2P support, needed for file transfer
  * clans (groups)
  * groupchat with permissions and commands
  * avatar display
  * sending ingame status and running server; server browser; managing games (not im-related)
  * ...

The goal of the idea woukd be to implement all chatting features and the gaming-related features through additional plugins, with some activated by default (detecting games).

I would be the best person to develop that because i have a lot of experience in the Xfire protocol being Gfire developer.
