- You tell Asani Myeras, of the Haze, "Have you spoken with Arien?"
- Asani tells you, "I have. I have offered to sponsor her."
- Asani tells you, "She will be an asset to the forest, I feel."
- Arien tells you, "I believe he has confirmed with you?"
- Message #1656 sent by Tarkenton (received: 2015/09/23 04:15:17)
- Arien has my permission to join the Nekotai, and by extension, the Glomdoring.
- Arien tells you, "Ma'am?"
- You tell Arien Myeras, "He has now. You only need one of the Court."
- Arien tells you, "Ah, I see."
- Telperion tells you, "Greetings."
- You tell Arien Myeras, "So..."
- Arien tells you, "Yes, ma'am?"
- You tell Arien Myeras, "Any thoughts on that?"
- Arien tells you, "I am attempting to ask Master Aurik, ma'am."
- Pale moonfire crackles across the sky in forks of splintered lightning just as a booming peal of
- thunder sunders the heavens. As the Crone turns Her attention to the First World, black storm clouds
- billow like inky water across the firmament.
- Asani Myeras, of the Haze says, "Shields also don't stop zaps."
- You say, "Hmm? Someone get zapped?"
- Asani Myeras, of the Haze smiles broadly and says, "Not yet."
- Asani points upwards.
- You say, "Planning to?"
- Arien Myeras says, "Perhaps She is."
- Turning her head to gaze through the canopy of leaves to the shadowed heavens above, Arien Myeras
- says, "Perhaps another scar to match."
- You say, "Really now? Anyone that might deserve it?"
- Asani Myeras, of the Haze says, "It will be a scar well earned, for the right reasons. Perhaps it
- will empower you to strike back."
- Arien Myeras says, "The first already has."
- Bewitching melodies drift languidly upon the air, heralding the entrance of Eliron as he glides in
- from the north.
- Corissai flashes Eliron a joyous smile.
- You flash Eliron a joyous smile.
- Corissai Shee-Slaugh, Storm-Speaker says to Eliron, "Thank you for coming, Grandfather."
- Asani curtseys gracefully before Eliron.
- Corissai Shee-Slaugh nods towards Arien
- Eliron gives Corissai a peck on the cheek.
- Arien bows respectfully to Eliron.
- Asani Myeras nudges Arien unobtrusively.
- Lord Eliron Shee-Slaugh, Song of the Wyrd smiles and says to Corissai, "Of course."
- With a flourish of his arm, Eliron bows deeply.
- Eliron Shee-Slaugh considers Arien thoughtfully as he rises
- Lord Eliron Shee-Slaugh, Song of the Wyrd says, "Ah, one of the Myeras?"
- Solemnly, Arien Myeras says, "Lord Song. You come upon myself making apologies to the Master of the
- Bloodhunt, to which he has not yet accepted. I am afraid my etiquette is out of practice."
- Astral Stalker Aurik Shee-Slaugh, Master of the Bloodhunt says, "Hn."
- Lord Eliron Shee-Slaugh, Song of the Wyrd smiles and says, "Ah, then I shall not interrupt. But
- please, speak with me when you and he are done."
- Astral Stalker Aurik Shee-Slaugh, Master of the Bloodhunt says, "Your etiquette could be flawless.
- It's never been something I pay attention to."
- Eliron smiles wryly at Aurik.
- Corissai Shee-Slaugh, Storm-Speaker says, "I have a few questions for Her, actually."
- Arien Myeras says, "Then my head should have been taken off several minutes ago, Master."
- Arien Myeras says, "Do not spare me the opportunity to learn."
- Lord Eliron Shee-Slaugh, Song of the Wyrd smiles and says to Arien, "Call when you are done."
- Astral Stalker Aurik Shee-Slaugh, Master of the Bloodhunt says, "Hn. And yet you've revealed a more
- effective way to punish you in your impatience."
- Lord Eliron Shee-Slaugh, Song of the Wyrd smiles and says to Aurik, "Pardon. I return her to your
- good hands."
- Stratas leaves, following Lord Eliron Shee-Slaugh, Song of the Wyrd.
- Eliron drifts downward, trailed by the hauntingly beautiful notes that dance upon the air.
- A dark nighthag turns her gaze to watch Eliron leave.
- Arien stares implacably at you.
- You tilt your head curiously at Arien.
- Arien Myeras says to Aurik, "I have done all that I can to offer amends. If you do not accept the
- apology, the the Lord Song will not speak with me no doubt."
- Arien creases her brow in a frown.
- You look confused and say, "Pardon?"
- Astral Stalker Aurik Shee-Slaugh, Master of the Bloodhunt says to Arien, "I accept your apology,
- that does not grant you forgiveness. I will speak to my great grandfather, and then hunt."
- Astral Stalker Aurik Shee-Slaugh, Master of the Bloodhunt says, "Once I return, I will consider your
- sponsorship."
- You tell Astral Stalker Aurik Shee-Slaugh, Master of the Bloodhunt, "What happened?"
- Asani tells you, "She has the patience of Serenwilde. That is to say, none."
- Arien Myeras says, "Then I shall ask him for sponsorship instead."
- Arien Myeras says to you, "This is all very confusing, I am not used to the culture shift."
- Aurik tells you, "She was impatient and entitled, and is now upset that I am disinclined to sponsor
- her because of it."
- You tell Asani Myeras, of the Haze, "What happened, exactly? I have been distracted."
- You tell Astral Stalker Aurik Shee-Slaugh, Master of the Bloodhunt, "What was said, if I might
- know?"
- Arien Myeras says, "Or perhaps any other, I am sure that Siam Star-eyes may vouch for me. I am eager
- to serve, not impatient. And I expect politeness at least, not kindness."
- Aurik tells you, "Nothing specific. Frequent references to expecting a 'warmer welcome', holding up
- her amnesty when I pointed out she's standing before us and still alive and that's rather warm for
- the Forest of No Mercy."
- Arien creases her brow in a frown.
- Arien Myeras says to you, "I am sorely confused, Ambassador. I know not what else to do."
- Aurik tells you, "Simply put, she gave me a bad impression."
- You tell Astral Stalker Aurik Shee-Slaugh, Master of the Bloodhunt, "Not unexpected, for one of
- Serenwilde."
- You say to Arien, "Then perhaps we should speak."
- Arien Myeras says, "Here, then?"
- Aurik tells you, "I had intended to sponsor her after teaching her some patience, but I'm growing
- increasingly uncertain she belongs with us."
- You look about yourself, rubbing your chin thoughtfully.
- You say, "No."
- Arien begins to follow you.
- Arien bows respectfully to Aurik.
- <following to manse>
- Arien follows you northeast.
- This room has not been mapped.
- A library beneath the eventide.
- The shadowy outline of a twisted forest casts a dark gloom here. Glimmers of emerging starlight peek
- over the remnants of ancient sable granite that compose the walls of this semicircular library,
- while the eternally sinking sun provides luminescence enough to partake in reading, writing, and a
- host of other scholarly activities. The remnants of the library's collapsed ceiling remain within
- the room, though now stacked and carved into orderly tables and seats. Persistent blackthorn
- brambles crawl up, over, and along the raven-black masonry, each branch punctuated with pale ivory
- flowers whose stark beauty against the dark stone evokes the jeweled stars of Mother Night's skirt.
- Austere marble shelves line the breezy, airy hall, each crammed with meticulously preserved books
- and scrolls; crystal clear glass encloses the books inside their respective cases, displaying these
- gems of knowledge like precious finery within show cabinets. A low couch lies here, shrouded in the
- shadowy embrace of raven wings. There are 2 large, comfortable armchairs of plush red velvet here.
- Rising gracefully, an elegant bookshelf wrought from iron and dark ravenwood stands here, its
- contents lit with a faint, ethereal light. You may use the BOOKSHELF commands here.
- Arien Myeras murmurs, "I have done nothing but ask for politeness, and I am threatened with death?"
- Arien Myeras murmurs, "It's not pride, simply courtesy."
- The fleshy maw on Arien's sternum loosens and begins to shudder and twitch, before tightening once
- more.
- Asani tells you, "Sorry."
- Arien falls silent and expressionless, the worm within her abdomen writhing furiously.
- You say, "From Aurik, I assume? He is the master of the bloodhunt, and not known for his mercy."
- Arien Myeras says, "Politeness is not mercy."
- Asani tells you, "She requires a member of the Court as one of her sponsors. She asked Aurik, but
- she is a bit too impatient."
- Arien Myeras says, "I asked him several times if he would grant his representation, and he ignored
- me. And I wondered why, with an inquiry."
- You say, "Politeness is unnecessary, and respect is earned."
- Arien Myeras says, "I am not asking for respect. I'm asking for common courtesy."
- Arien shrugs helplessly.
- Arien Myeras says, "I gave him my apology at least, I suppose I shall not do some talking for quite
- some time while I attempt to learn of your ways."
- Arien Myeras says, "If...I am still granted the opportunity."
- Giving a faint shrug as she gestures toward one of the chairs, you say, "Have a seat."
- Arien Myeras says, "No, thank you. I wish to remain standing."
- Her tone cool, you say, "Very well. Not all within the forest will show you politeness or 'common
- courtesy.' They have no reason to do so to one who abandoned the Northern Forest and betrayed her
- former allies. However much we despise them, that does not make you a friend- yet."
- Arien Myeras says, "I ask not for friendship. Everyone keeps remarking and lecturing to me that
- respect must be earned. I just want to have the ability to be able to earn this respect. If I have
- no way to earn it, I remain treated like an animal."
- With a thin smile, you say, "You are asking us to trust you in granting you a place here. Animals
- are of value only to the extent that they serve a purpose. If you are granted our trust, will you
- serve our purpose?"
- Arien Myeras says, "Every purpose you command."
- Arien Myeras says, "I would not approach Glomdoring with anything less, even as apparently ignorant
- as I am to your customs."
- Arien kneels onto one knee, demonstrating her humility and respect.
- Arien places her head to the ground with a rigid posture.
- A far-off crash of thunder sounds as the Hallowed Crone appears amidst a fast-brewing storm, Her
- arrival impregnating the air with the weight of power.
- Arien gazes down to the floor, unmoving and still.
- Arien stands up and stretches her arms out wide.
- Arien kneels onto one knee, demonstrating her humility and respect.
- You give Lisaera a respectful salute.
- You say, "I... would offer You a seat as well, if You wish?"
- Her eyes black, Her voice a distant thunder, Lisaera, Hallowed Crone says to Arien, "You may not
- speak. You may not breathe heavily. You may not think loud thoughts, lest they cause Me pain."
- Crackling lightning wreathes Arien in bolts of incandescent light, a sudden wind sweeping about her
- in a furious, but fleeting, gale.
- Thousands of voices, the voices of the Faethorn ringing in Her own voice, Lisaera, Hallowed Crone
- says to Arien, "May you only feel the immense pressure of the Void beating down upon your spirit.
- May you rue the day of your oath to Me until it breaks you utterly."
- Arien Myeras says, "You asked for reason You could believe, I grant You one, Mother."
- Lisaera steps up to Arien and, in one smooth motion, backhands her viciously across the face.
- Her black eyes blazing with silver lightning, Lisaera, Hallowed Crone says to Arien, "I am not your
- mother. I am your enemy."
- Arien stands up and stretches her arms out wide.
- Arien Myeras whispers, "If You cannot believe a child that loves You, how is that love at all?"
- The figure of the Hallowed Crone explodes with a deafening crash of thunder, Her being becoming a
- black cloud that dissipates into the air with a final flash of silver moonfire.
- Deafening thunder booms overhead as a searing flash of moonfire speeds across the heavens like a
- bolt of pale lightning.
- Cold moonfire erupts around Arien in a blazing corona of pale light. The flames roar high and wide,
- but she does not cry out in pain. A moment of calm passes, the cold moonfire still ripping at
- Arien's flesh, and then a deafening peal of thunder echoes across the heavens. Barely a heartbeat
- goes by before a blinding bolt of silver lightning sears into Arien, causing the pale flames to
- consume her completely. As grey smoke curls into the sky, it momentarily forms the outline of the
- Silver Goddess standing over Arien, dark wrath in Her eyes.
- Having been too much for the mortal threads of Arien, she screams in agony as flames engulf her body
- and burn it to a crisp.
- The inner worm of Arien Myeras says, "And thus, you have proof of my reasonings, Ambassador."
- Glorious golden flames spring up around Arien until, in a silent flash, she is gone, leaving the
- slight scent of charred flesh behind.
- Quietly, you say, "Reasoning of what? An inability to keep your promises?"
- Arien Myeras shouts, "If You cannot believe a child that loves You, how is that love at all?"
- Telperion tells you, "My former wife speaks of love yet she left me so callously."
- You tell Star on the horizon, Telperion Eli'Silar, Testament of Truth, "You are not the only one, if
- that helps."
- Arien Myeras shouts, "I accept Your curse, Many-Faced Lady, You who rejects even the most desperate
- in their hour of need."
- With a loud yet playful whistle, a mechanical dirigible comes puttering in on currents of air, its
- metallic claw grasping a delicate silver scroll of roses, which it quickly deposits in your hands.
- "Arien and Telperion's Wedding", By Lanikai's favorite, Telperion Eli'Silar, Testament of Truth
- (Page 1)
- Tzarin 19st, 419 CE:
- Telperion and Arien's wedding
- Sandy cay studded with cobalt flecks.
- Still, grey mists cover the ground here, indicating a shield shrine of
- Darvellan nearby. The ambient light catches upon bright blue luminescent
- pinpoints in the pure sands here, throwing dazzling refractions against
- the surroundings. The sources are small fragments of nacreous
- cobalt-hued stone nestled in the warm floor of the cay, striations
- marring their surface. A faint odour hangs in the air, sharp and acrid
- though partially masked by the tang of the lapping waters nearby. A
- luminous purple starfish lies nestled in the sands here, spines swaying.
- A frothing water elemental is here, churning the sands into mud beneath
- its presence. As still as a magnificent statue, an exalted dragon peers
- You tell Star on the horizon, Telperion Eli'Silar, Testament of Truth, "Why give me this?"
- Telperion tells you, "It can not be her. She said she would be gone for ages and would not return
- and thus it would be unfair to remain with me. I think I see her but it can not be. I wish for you
- to see the promises so easily made to me that she made and that she broke."
- Telperion tells you, "We were not even together what, two years before she was gone."
- Telperion tells you, "Such a person one must be wary of. Be mindful."
- Telperion tells you, "I see you there with her in a manse. I assume she wishes to join your org."
- You tell Star on the horizon, Telperion Eli'Silar, Testament of Truth, "I am only serving the forest.
- My personal feelings about anyone are not relevant."
- Telperion tells you, "She will likely betray you as well and the forest. Be advised."
- A whipping gale erupts over the Glomdoring Forest, powerful and horrible in its intensity. As the
- black clouds of the Crone sweep across the heavens, Her voice rings out, blazing and thunderous,
- "You will never know the beauty of nature again, child. When you turn to Me, when you turn to the
- Ethereal Realm, you will find nothing but your false promises staring back at you."
- You tell Star on the horizon, Telperion Eli'Silar, Testament of Truth, "A fair point."
- Before the Master Ravenwood Tree.
- The dark heart of Glomdoring Forest is almost audibly beating in this, its shadowy centre. Tall,
- blackened trees surround this clearing, pressing together into an imposing barrier of rotten
- vegetation. Moulds and fungi are smeared across the plants, their pungent stench suffusing the
- forest. The branches are coated in dark slime, slick tendrils that hang downwards. Although a
- variety of trees might actually grow here, the black tar that coats them renders them
- indistinguishable. A thin black mist creeps between the trees, hanging low across the ground. The
- floor of the clearing itself is simply bare earth, cracked and dry. Overshadowing all is the Master
- Ravenwood Tree itself, jutting into the sky like a twisted fist. The sound of laughing crows echoes
- down from the treetops, a harsh sound for the ears below. The atmosphere vibrates with a palpable
- power. Brennan Stormcrow paces here, his cadaverous body twitching with sudden jerks. The Master
- Ravenwood Tree towers over everything here, pulsing with an immeasurable yet dark power. Casting
- darkness all around, a shadow totem thrusts up from the ground, chilling the air. There are 5 black
- direwolves here. There are 4 shadowlord widowriders here. There are 2 armoured bats here. There are
- 10 illithoid scourges here. A crudely crafted shrine of harsh black crystal stands here, thrumming
- powerfully. In the shape of an open palm, a metallic sigil lies here. Rimed in snow and ice, the
- darkened, crystalline form of the Eisenglass Needle rises from the ground. There are 15 dark
- nighthags here. A mature rowan tree stands proudly here. A furry tarantula crouches here, ready to
- pounce on unsuspecting prey. Covered in bone armour, a green eyelash viper is slithering about here.
- There are 35 buckets here. There are 2 bottles here. An animated skeleton stands here with a ghostly
- outline of a beetle around its skull. An animated skeleton stands here with a ghostly outline of a
- wasp around its skull. An animated skeleton stands here with a ghostly outline of a bat around its
- skull. An animated skeleton stands here with a ghostly outline of a spider around its skull. Asani
- Myeras, of the Haze is here, shrouded. She wields a mystic cudgel in her left hand and a glowing
- powerstone in her right. Shadowbound Alic Ashtalon is here. Keeper Septim Nightshade is here. He
- wields a Mallet of Forging in his left hand and a glowing powerstone in his right. Duchess Lyora
- Shee-Slaugh, Celebrant of the Scorpion is here. She wields a nightmarish nekai of morbid oddity in
- each hand. Astral Stalker Aurik Shee-Slaugh, Master of the Bloodhunt is barely visible, his form
- blending almost seamlessly with his surroundings. He wields a predatory katana of the hunt with both
- hands. Lavinya d'Murani, of the Insatiable Night hovers here, sibilant whispers echoing around her.
- She wields the malevolent whip of Ouroborian reprimand in her left hand and an athame dagger in her
- right. Xilixiaxix, Enigma of Twilight is here, shrouded. She wields an athame dagger in her left
- hand and a dark shield in the form of crow wings in her right. Arien Myeras is here. She wields a
- simple glaive of wood and iron with both hands. Harlow, Murmur in the Dark is here. She wields a
- subtle violin of dark hues in her left hand. High Druid Tylwyth is here, shrouded. He wields a
- mystic cudgel in his left hand and a glowing powerstone in his right.
- Arien Myeras says to Aurik, "If it pleases you." Her voice small. "I shall wait, as long as you wish."
- You tell Astral Stalker Aurik Shee-Slaugh, Master of the Bloodhunt, "Still speaking to her?"
- Arien tells you, "I will do whatever is needed to be done."
- Arien tells you, "Please excuse me."
- Arien tells you, "I must gaze at the swamp."
- Arien explodes in a cloud of shimmering, golden pollen, which fades as the vibrant blossoms on the
- ground continue northward.
- Aurik inclines his head politely to those around him.
- High Druid Tylwyth says, "Hmm, Tremula joined us foor a few days."
- High Druid Tylwyth says, "But she left and is an enemy now."
- Lavinya d'Murani, of the Insatiable Night says, "Well, she showed her true colours if you ask me."
- High Druid Tylwyth says, "I think."
- Lavinya d'Murani, of the Insatiable Night says, "No loyalty to anything."
- Lavinya waves her hand dismissively.
- Asani Myeras, of the Haze says, "What what."
- Lavinya d'Murani, of the Insatiable Night says, "She has a penchant for...the dramatic."
- Shadowbound Alic Ashtalon says, "Tremula already bailed?"
- You nod your head at Alic.
- Lavinya d'Murani, of the Insatiable Night says, "She lasted only a few days."
- Lavinya d'Murani, of the Insatiable Night says, "Surprise surprise."
- Shadowbound Alic Ashtalon says, "Where'd she run off to?"
- Asani Myeras, of the Haze says, "Celest."
- Lavinya d'Murani, of the Insatiable Night says, "So very desperate to join the Glomdoring, you see.
- Such a need for haste."
- Shadowbound Alic Ashtalon says, "Right."
- You smile softly at Lavinya.
- Aurik tells you, "Ah - no."
- Aurik tells you, "Bluntly, any hope for my sponsorship, she threw away."
- Shadowbound Alic Ashtalon says, "Those with friends seems to do that."
- You say, "Not all have the dedication required. Many fall short, which makes those that have joined
- all the more valuable."
- The ghost of a smile passes fleetingly across Lavinya's lips as she glances at you.
- You tell Astral Stalker Aurik Shee-Slaugh, Master of the Bloodhunt, "What now?"
- Asani Myeras, of the Haze says, "It didn't help that I threatened to eat her eyeballs if she was
- found to be spying for her...whatever the goddess calls Herself. Temptress, Enchantress."
- Aurik tells you, "Her response to my telling her to wait and I'd consider sponsoring her was to
- defiantly retort she'd ask the Lord Song or the Witch-King instead."
- You say to Asani, "That sounds like it might help, really."
- You tell Astral Stalker Aurik Shee-Slaugh, Master of the Bloodhunt, "Are you only refusing to
- sponsor her, or objecting to her joining?"
- Aurik tells you, "Hn. Others seem to think she can be taught manners. For now, only refusing her
- sponsorship."
- Aurik tells you, "But I'll be watching her."
- <map walking>
- Quagmire.
- The shadowy outline of a twisted forest casts a dark gloom here. A heavy downpour soaks the area.
- The mud runs from all sides into this part of the swamp, a deep ditch of sucking dirt. The thick
- feculence has built up into thick piles of brown, in which it is impossible to step without suddenly
- falling down to waist's depth. Flies buzz across the skies, happy not to have to pick a path through
- such a nauseating environment. Arien is here, weeping uncontrollably. She wields a simple glaive of
- wood and iron with both hands.
- With a quick beat of your wings, you rise to circle slowly around Arien and study her curiously.
- Arien sits in the filth, her blank expression wide-eyed as tears stream unknowingly down her pale
- cheeks.
- Arien grovels pathetically in the dirt.
- Arien throws herself around, struggling harshly against the unwanted adoration within her mortal
- frame.
- Arien Myeras says, "Madam Ambassador."
- In a whisper, you say to Arien, "Troubled?"
- Rage screaming in several syllables, stubborn and despairing, Arien Myeras says, "No."
- Exhaling shortly, Arien Myeras says, "This is welcomed. I welcome this."
- You say, "Not entirely certain I believe you."
- Arien Myeras says, "You do not understand the situation, I would be more than obliged to tell it to
- you."
- You say, "By all means... go ahead."
- Arien snatches a slime calmly from the ground, using its snail-like trail to mop at the salt upon
- her face.
- The fleshy maw on Arien's sternum loosens and begins to shudder and twitch, before tightening once
- more.
- You see Arien Myeras yell, "Harken, mortals, and flock to worship Lisaera, Hallowed Crone, the only
- God who is wise enough to guide us!"
- The ghost of a smile passes fleetingly across your lips.
- Arien Myeras says, "As I told you once before, I tried to help the Maeve. The Spirits called, and I
- came and made my foolish attempts. I realize that they are foolish now, for I have failed in it."
- Arien Myeras says, "All went black, as I said. And it tore me from Her bosom."
- Arien Myeras says, "Just as if Maeve had defied Her, those many months ago. It defied the bond of
- the Silver Lady."
- Arien glares about herself in religious indignity and hisses, "Heathen."
- Arien Myeras says, "I begged for insight from Lord Hoaracle. Who said I must face Her alone, and She.
- .." She gazes up wordlessly at the raindrops. "She denied me. She would not heal me, or would not
- allow me explain my predicament. She told me, 'You must find a better reason for causing my sorrow,
- lost one.'"
- Arien Myeras says, "I begged, I wept. I fought to have Her see, that I was still Her child. But this
- all fell deaf."
- Arien Myeras says, "And so, I come to Glomdoring, to become a better reasoning of Her sorrow. To
- overpower the sorrow within me, and use it."
- You see Arien Myeras yell, "Harken, mortals, and flock to worship Lisaera, Hallowed Crone, the only
- God who is wise enough to guide us!"
- You say to Arien, "Your reasoning escapes me. If you sought Her forgiveness, coming here will not
- help you with that. If you sought Her pain, then why do you act as if you still care?"
- Arien Myeras says, "Some of the shard of Her imprint remains, it shall need removing."
- Raising her eyes slightly, you say, "Some shard? I don't know what to tell you about that."
- Arien Myeras says, "She denied me any mote of forgiveness, Ambassador."
- You see Arien Myeras yell, "Harken, mortals, and flock to worship Lisaera, Hallowed Crone, the only
- God who is wise enough to guide us!"
- Arien shrugs helplessly.
- Arien Myeras says, "I wish to serve the Glomdoring. And I will crawl for it if I must."
- Arien Myeras stares solemnly to you.
- You say, "Hmm. And yet, you wouldn't for Her."
- Waving a hand in dismissal, you say, "No matter. You are in need of a sponsor from one of the Court."
- Arien Myeras says, "I humbly request, that perhaps your representation of me itself may bear me ends."
- Arien drops one knee to the ground, genuflecting in sheer reverence.
- Quietly, you say, "In some cases, it would. However, I am reluctant to give it."
- Arien Myeras says, "You shall not regret it."
- You declare that Arien is no longer an enemy of the Free Collective of Glomdoring.
- Arien Myeras says, "There is much I could tell you of Her ways, in exchange for becoming useful and
- perhaps even trust-worthy."
- Arien kneels before you and touches her head to the ground in worship.
- Kethaera regards Arien cautiously at the words, her expression oddly blank as she
- scans Arien's face. "What makes you think I would care of Her ways? That any of us would?"
- Arien Myeras says, "Tactical reasoning, how to take apart that which appears to not have a
- vulnerable spot."
- You murmur, "An interesting offer, and one you are so quick to provide."
- Arien Myeras says, "My Uncle spoke often of you."
- Her eyes narrowing at the words, you say, "I care not what he speaks about. My answer is no. Ask
- another."
- Arien creases her brow in a frown.
- Arien Myeras says, "And if the offer is withdrawn?"
- You say, "Your offer, you mean?"
- Arien Myeras says, "Yes."
- Lightly, you say, "We will survive, I think."
- Arien nods her head in agreement.
- Arien Myeras says, "Of course."
- You incline your head politely to Arien.
- Arien Myeras says, "Why would you regret granting me your representation? Is it because I come with
- risk, or simply it is my bearing."
- You say, "It is simply the decision I have made. Later, if you do happen to join us, perhaps we will
- speak of it again."
- You say, "I wish you well, until then."
- <Later, at the Ravenwood>
- Asani Myeras, of the Haze says to Arien, "Any luck?"
- Arien Myeras says, "Not one iota. It seems not even the Ambassador will represent me."
- Arien Myeras says, "Court representation to join of the Glomdoring, sir."
- Her eyes drifting towards Kethaera for a moment before turning back, Asani Myeras, of the Haze says,
- "How strange."
- Asani Myeras, of the Haze says, "And the Lord Song was not able to help?"
- Arien Myeras says, "I did not have time to contact him."
- Kethaera glances briefly at Asani, her expression neutral.
- Arien Myeras says, "I was attempting to see that the Ambassador would, respectfully she declined."
- Asani Myeras, of the Haze says, "Patience will serve you well if you truly wish to join the
- Glomdoring. Until then, working for the Wyrd would surely assist others in seeing your worth."
- You tell Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk, "Busy?"
- Arien gives a pained sigh.
- Asani Myeras, of the Haze says, "Perhaps staying in a manse at times would be wise."
- A wry smile spreads across Asani's face.
- Stratas tells you, "Not on something I can't postpone. What can I do for you, madam?"
- Arien Myeras says, "Perhaps, cousin."
- You tell Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk, "I have a bit of a dilemma presently."
- Arien inclines her head politely to those around her.
- Arien Myeras says, "I shall show myself out."
- Asani leans close to Arien and gently lays a kiss upon her forehead.
- Arien explodes in a cloud of shimmering, golden pollen, which fades as the vibrant blossoms on the
- ground continue northward.
- Stratas tells you, "Ah, wonderful. I'll help as best I can, oho."
- You begin to follow Stratas.
- You follow Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk down to under a dark root.
- You follow Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk northeast to A library beneath the
- eventide.
- Stratas sits himself down on a raven-feathered leather couch and makes himself comfortable.
- Dryly, you say, "I don't know, it might not be safe here. Gods sometimes show up to kill betrayers."
- You sit yourself down on a large, comfortable armchair of plush red velvet and make yourself
- comfortable.
- Arien Myeras shouts, "All hail Lisaera, Hallowed Crone, who must be feared, worshipped, and adored!
- I am your eternal and unworthy servant!"
- Stratas raises an eyebrow questioningly.
- Resting her head on one hand as she settles into the chair, you say, "I suppose we'll have to risk it."
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "Something to do with madam Arien, oho? I
- have not been witness to much of it, though the Silver Lady's wrath was notable."
- You say, "More so had you been here to witness it."
- Showing that he understands, Stratas nods his head slowly.
- Tapping her other hand on the arm of the couch, you say, "And that is part of my dilemma now. Arien
- sought my sponsorship to join Glomdoring."
- Stratas nods his head emphatically.
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "She has been seeking it of anyone she can
- think to ask, it seems. Likely she wold have been discusiing it with father had she not been... busy,
- when he was awake."
- You say, "And... I have had two people now express some reservations about it, and her former fiance
- warning me against permitting her to join."
- Showing that he understands, Stratas nods his head slowly.
- Stratas rubs his temples in frustration.
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "I've been trying to stay out of it as best
- I can. The situation with madam Tremula has soured me on allowing any foreigners to join, honestly.
- But, I'll set that aside for now."
- Using his tongue and the roof of his mouth, Stratas makes a quiet clicking noise.
- You say, "In addition... and I have had a similar conversation with Mistral in the past..." She says,
- and takes a deep breath before adding, "I don't trust traitors, nor any who would so quickly abandon
- their oaths. She offered to tell me of the Silver Goddess's ways, in return for my sponsorship."
- Stratas raises an eyebrow questioningly.
- You say, "You tell me, cousin, why such a person wouldn't as quickly turn on us when it became
- convenient?"
- Stratas nods his head emphatically.
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "That is a concern, one I see immediately.
- She was the Silver Lady's most trusted, according to her. I don't know her reasons for leaving, but
- to so easily try to peddle Her secrets..."
- You nod your head at Stratas.
- Using his tongue and the roof of his mouth, Stratas makes a quiet clicking noise.
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "Who has voiced concerns, if I might
- inquire? And who was her former fiance?"
- You say, "Asani seemed to have some hesitations and criticism of her means of seeking membership,
- though offered her sponsorship anyway. And Aurik, more directly, as he refused to sponsor her-
- however, he does not object to her joining."
- You say, "Her fiance was Telperion, of Celest."
- Stratas ponders for a moment and says "Hrm..."
- You look skeptical and say, "I don't object, particularly, but I rarely sponsor anyone that proves
- in any way controversial- that, and I didn't care for her offer."
- You say to Stratas, "Your thoughts?"
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "I noted a great deal of impatience when she
- was at the Master, but it's hard to say what it was motivated by. And nephew Aurik had no particular
- reason to offer her sponsorship. I would agree with hesitations and concerns on her methods, and
- also with not overly objecting to her joining, in that regard. Her willingness to shill secrets,
- though..."
- Stratas ponders for a moment and says "Hrm..."
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "But, it is possible it is simply
- desperation. She left her home and goddess for reasons I don't know, and worked harder than many
- I've seen to make right with the Wyrd. I recall it being a number of years ago she first contacted
- me seeking an Ambassador aide."
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "Was her offer of the Lady's secrets before
- or after nephew Aurik declined to sponsor her?"
- You look thoughtful and say, "It was when I expressed reluctance. Which does suggest desperation, as
- you say..."
- Stratas nods his head emphatically.
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "If she had a goal, one she knew would incur
- the wrath of her entire way of life, and she worked for years at it, then felt it was slipping away
- right as her goal was in sight... it might have caused actions she would not normally have
- undertaken."
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "It still is a tough call. The test of fire
- often reveals true character. But then, it might be simply exposing weaknesses to be hammered out in
- the future. Is it right to hold her to standards of the long Wyrden, when she has no had its grace
- guiding her?"
- Using his tongue and the roof of his mouth, Stratas makes a quiet clicking noise.
- With a slow nod, you say, "Perhaps not. I have of late come to expect very little of those of the
- Northern Forest. Still, others have been in her position, and kept their oaths as best they could."
- Stratas nods his head emphatically.
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "Who already is sponsoring her?"
- You say, "Asani and Tarkenton. And I have little doubt that Siam will as well."
- Stratas nods his head emphatically.
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "I've seen that the King has asked much of
- her so far, yes."
- You nod your head at Stratas.
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "I think her motivated this month by
- desperation, and fear. Not admirable qualities, but not unexpected from a Northerner, as you say. I
- would rebuke her for offering secrets, especially when not asked for, expected, or wanted
- particularly. But I don't think denying her at this point will serve much purpose."
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "She seeks to join the Murder, yes?"
- You say, "I've no intention of denying her, but I don't expect anyone in the forest to sponsor
- someone out of obligation, no less than I expect of myself. The Nekotai."
- Comprehension flashes across Stratas's face.
- A smile breaking onto her face, you say, "Still, I think your words are wise, and I will speak to
- her again, if she hasn't heard from Siam beforehand."
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "I would expect no one to feel obligated to
- sponsor either. That is part of the test of joining the Forest, and the frustration of the situation
- with madam Tremula."
- You nod your head at Stratas, showing your acceptance.
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "If one can't be bothered to do what is
- required now, they won't later."
- You say, "Indeed."
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "The King should be around eventually to
- help her, and if not, there are still other members of the Court she can speak with. She needs to
- learn patience anyways."
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "Hopefully this helped a bit, oho?"
- You smile and say, "There is that as well. In any case, I am need of rest. And yes, it did."
- Stratas smiles softly.
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "Before you go, I have a brief matter myself."
- You tilt your head and listen intently to Stratas.
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "I am planning on contesting Aleyah for
- Maestro. She has been absent too long, I feel. Do you have any objections or conerns to that?"
- You say, "Not at all, and I had begun to hope that you would. Aleyah has done well, when she has
- been around, but unfortunately, she has not been."
- Stratas nods his head emphatically.
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "Father has expressed his support as well.
- And she had asked of me to contest her if she ever became inactive. It seems the right time to
- proceed, then."
- Hymnist Stratas Shee-Slaugh, Reveller in the Dusk says, "Well, I shall let you get to your rest,
- then, cousin-mine. It has been a trying few months, I think."
- You nod your head at Stratas.
- You say, "Take care, and good luck to you."
