1 Prologue
The battle of the Hero and the Demon King.
A battle that has been repeated countless times in this world.
There is the Demon King, who rules over demonkind.
There is only one Demon King in each era.
When the Demon King of one era is defeated, a demon with extraordinary power will become the Demon King of the next era.
It’s how this world works.
Therefore, the line of Demon Kings will never die out.
The Demon Kings vary in their nature.
The Demon King who can level a mountain with their monstrous strength.
The sorcerous Demon King, who knows thousands of spells.
Their only common feature is their hostility towards mankind.
And then there is the Hero, the great hope of humanity, who fights the Demon King.
Like the Demon King, this lineage will never die.
The battle between the two is a balance, like a seesaw.
The Hero can kill the Demon King, and the Demon King can repel the Hero.
This is a battle that will never cease.
This is the fate of this world.

In one of these cycles, both the Hero and the Demon King were masters of the rare dimension magic.
A magic capable of rivalling the Gods, of controlling space and dimensions.
They both used their magic to the extent of their abilities.
The magics clashed, and the world screamed.
Both the Hero and Demon King perished, unable to endure their own power.
And the aftermath of this magic reached across the dimensions to another world.
On a world called Earth, in a country named Japan, in a certain high school, there was an explosion.
A total of 26 people, teachers and students alike, died in the magical blast.
The incident was reported in the news as a mysterious explosion.
But while they were to be reborn, those who died did not know of the broadcast.
For their souls flowed back with the magical tide.
Into the world where the Hero fights the Demon King.
Their souls scattered, each to be born into a new life.
This is a story of one of them.

I tried to groan, but I couldn’t seem to get it out.
Is my body in that bad a condition?
Okay, calm down.
I’m not feeling any pain.
I remember that I was in Japanese Language class, when I felt a terrible pain.
I must have fainted form that, but it doesn’t hurt anymore.
But even if I open my eyes, there’s nothing but blackness. Where am I?
But more than that, I can’t move… and it feels like my body is covered by something.

Am I in a vegetative state?
Uwaaa.
Even though I want to deny it, it’s looking likely.
I don’t know what happened, but it looks like I’m in a vegetative state.
Nai waa.
Only having my consciousness, but unable to move my body, cut off from my senses.
I’m going to go insane.
Nai waa!

But thinking about it, I just heard a faint rustling sound.
Which means I still have my sense of hearing.
Un.
But even if I can hear, it doesn’t change my current situation.

Did I bump something?

I felt pain just now, so does that mean I still have my sense of touch?

I will break it and immediately escape!

I crawl out headfirst.
With this, I am free!

Right before my eyes, there’s a huge number of spiders crawling around.

What’s with this huge spider army!?
They’re all as big as me!?
Eh, it looks like they’re coming out of those egg-like things!
So THIS was that rustling sound!!

I instinctively step back.
Something hits my foot and I turn around.

Is this that?
The thing which I crawled out from a while ago?
Somehow, the thing looks like the eggs of the spider army. Is it just my imagination?
No, rather than looking like it, isn’t it the same thing?

Once again, I examined myself.
My neck can’t move.
But on the dge of my view, I saw something that looks like a leg.
A spider leg.

Ca-Ca-Ca-Caaaaaa-Calm down!!!
I-Is this that!?
Is it really THAT!?
That thing that’s popular on the internet!?
No no no!
Like in a novel, where there’s this God-like guy giving it out as a privilege.
I didn’t get anything like that, so it has to be different!
No matter how you look at it, I didn’t see God!
And besides, men are supposed to be Hero candidates, and women are the daughters of villains, that’s part of the pattern!

I look to the side for an instant once again.
Just like those spiders around me, there was a thing wire-like leg.
I tried to move my leg.
It worked just as I wanted.

Though escaping from reality is my forte, I have to face the facts.

It seems that I have been reincarnated as a spider.
