  6. *Howdy all,* do you understand what Ben Shapiro is saying in this video? If so, would you be so kind as to help me understand what he meant between 10m:54s and 12m:02s.
  7.
  8. Is Mr Shapiro suggesting that abortion is okay in *limited* situations? Such as when a pregnancy would knowingly and unavoidably result in the woman's death (i.e., both mother and child would certainly die if the pregnancy is brought to term)? Or when a pregnant woman has an illness such as cancer and successful treatment for it would, _by consequence,_ - unavoidably terminate the pregnancy?
  9.
  10. I am trying to understand if Mr Shapiro is against abortion (I have gathered that he is), _but okay with it in *some* situations_ (such as those two I mentioned). Or whether Mr Shapiro is completely against abortion and considers those limited situations I outlined to be just as unrealistic and ludicrous as the hypothetical he dissected in this video.

  12. If someone can help me to understand, *many cheers in advance!*

  20. +Greg Elchert __ Thanks, that makes sense and confirms what I thought. If you or anyone else can help there are just two more situations I remain unsure on from a pro-life standpoint. I'm not seeking a debate, just to know the basic pro-life position.
  21.
  22. The two scenarios are where the woman's life is not at risk from the pregnancy. The first scenario is when the pregnancy is a consequence of r4pe. The second scenario is when contraceptives were used, but for whatever reason they didn't work and it resulted in an unwanted (and surprise) pregnancy.
  23.
  24. I could be wrong, but I recall hearing Mr Shapiro suggest that sex should only be undertaken for procreation and not pleasure. That approach would certainly bypass any problems with failed contraceptives since the intention would be to get pregnant and not to avoid it. If I am not mistaken, I think that the pro-life position for that scenario is "sh!t happens, tough luck - you're having a baby".
  25.
  26. However, I am not sure what the pro-life position is with regard to r4pe. Do the pro-life people and organisations consider that to be another "exception", or do they again react along the lines of, "sh!t happens, tough luck - you're having a baby"?
  27.
  28. To whoever replies, cheers in advance!
