DNA: 	I find it's usually a good idea to work on Pokemon's personalities one at a time - start with someone you're good with, flesh it out, then move on to the next person.

	Jupiter: 	Heck, I think I'm the only guy who DNA designed the personality for in his party.

Kaorin Sakura: 	Just earlier today Crystal became part of Team Oak. She met her the other members of Team Oak as well as Professor Gary Oak himself. She was accombanied by two members of Team Oak for the Weekly Normal Rank Contest. Success was on their side and they came out on top. Welcome to the World of Pokémon!
Avara: 	also: *SO PROUD OF SPRITE EDIT*
	Crystal: 	"That was an interesting contest. It's pretty fun to team up with those guys, and they all have potential if they're motivated." She's walking away from the pokemon center with Eli rolling by her side, nodding in agreement.
	Hilton: 	"Congratulations! You and everyone else was incredible!"
* Hilton clapped a bit as Crystal passed, bowing slightly to her before returning to walking towards the Pokémon Center.
* Crystal waves to Hilton while Eli does a little spin. "Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the show! Please keep cheering for us in the future, sir!"
* Crystal keeps walking, wanting to pay Professor Oak another visit.
Kaorin Sakura: 	The sky is still cloudy and the winds picking up slightly but it only gets a tad warmer as the day passes.
* Crystal walks over to the lab, walking up to the sliding doors to look inside.
Kaorin Sakura: 	The doors open up and you find G.Oak staring hard at two Klink. It takes him a moment but he realizes someone entered and turns to you.
	G.Oak: 	"Oh, Crystal. Congratulations on your Contest win. Anything I could help you with?"
	Crystal: 	"I wanted to find out a little more about the team. More specifically... the person I'm replacing. The others seem kind of tired after the contest, and I wanted to make sure I... well, measure up to my job."
Venec_Myles has connected.
* G.Oak frowned slightly hearing this and nodded, "You have the right to know. Her name is Kia Meyers and she worked just as closely with Pokémon as any Joy did. She had the ability to connect with Pokémon amazingly well. I feel Cepheus has picked this up as well but doesn't embrace it quite like she did. You're simply replacing the position, not the person."
* G.Oak paused for a moment and thought long and hard.
	G.Oak: 	"She did leave all of her Pokémon here for the members of Team Oak and just about all of them were already moved to the other mmebers Pokéhomes but there was that refused to do anything. I'm sure you've met Lucy. Her mentor is still here wandering around somewhere."
	Crystal: 	"Her mentor?" She thinks back to the contest, Lucy and her performance. "Should I try having a talk with this mentor, then? I'm guessing she -can- talk to me."
	G.Oak: 	"She's a Human Splice from Scion. From what I know, they're pretty rare. Not a large amount of volunteers. If you'd like to, feel free."
	Crystal: 	"Thank you. Before I do go to talk to her, though, I'd like to ask... are the others taking the League challenge?"
	G.Oak: 	"I imagine they are. At least, I hope they are. They're traveling the world might as well do the league challenges while they're out there."
	Crystal: 	"If that's the case, I should probably start on that too, so I can keep up with them and help with the matches."
	G.Oak: 	"Oh, that's right. You don't have any badges."
	G.Oak: 	"Well, there's a Gym here in town, to the northwest."
	G.Oak: 	Northeast*
	Crystal: 	"Alright. Thank you! I'll head over there once I've talked with the mentor. Where is she?"
	Crystal: 	"Also... what are you working on with those Klinks?"
	G.Oak: 	"Oh, some Pokémon don't have noticeable genders but can still breed. I'm trying to find gender differences between them."
	G.Oak: 	"But, she can usually be found in my library. Her name's Miranda."
	Crystal: 	"Maybe it involves triggering something in their partner? A function instead of a trait?" She starts walking towards the library.
Kaorin Sakura: 	The corridors of the hallway winds around in a more curved shape and straight. An open passageway leads into a library, but not in the sense of traditional books. Instead, its full of machinery and monitors. A girl was sitting down in front of one of the monitors, leisurely resting her chin in her right hand with a bored expression. Her skin was a pale pink colour with her hair several shades darker than her skin. She has two shadowy black appendages sticking out from her back almost looking to be wings but clearly lacking the defining shape. She also has a long cat-like tail that has a few splits randomly along it. It's difficult to say if that's hair, fur or actually part of her tail. She has a White Eye Patch over her right eye and Black and White hand and chest wraps coveres her upper body just enough to not be nude. A pair of Black Shorts and foot wraps are all that cover her lower body.
* Crystal slowly walks towards Miranda, taking the time to get a good, long look at her before drawing attention to herself. "Hello. I'm Crystal, a new member for Team Oak. You're Miranda, right?"
* Miranda blinks for a moment, turning her attention from the monitor to Crystal. Her eye narrowed a bit before she closed it and turned to face elsewhere.
	Miranda: 	"Yes, I'm Miranda. Oak found a replacement rather quick, didn't he?"
	Crystal: 	"I guess so. I wouldn't know exactly when Kia left, but she sounds impressive." She walks towards Miranda as she talks, until she's right next to the legendsplice. "Does it bother you?"
* Miranda looks up when Crystal walks right next to her and she scoots back a bit, opening her eye and growing quiet for a moment.
	Miranda: 	"You joining? No, Arceus knows they could use the help. Just a little insulted. Not by you, by Oak. And Kia."
	Miranda: 	« 1d649 = 582 »

* Crystal nods. "I think I understand... It must be painful to be left like that so suddenly." She gets down low to level with Miranda, looking her in the eye. "I can't really apologize for them, but I do want us to be on good terms with each other. If there's anything I can do for you, let me know." She then pushes herself forward, hugging Miranda.
	Miranda: 	"H-Hey! W-What're y--?!" Miranda froze as she was suddenly enveloped by Crystal, entirely unsure of what to do or how to react. She stayed like this for a moment, her tail betraying her as it swayed some from the affection. She huffed a bit and turned away from Crystal's face, gripping her hands to keep her actions from betraying her, "What's there to be on good terms about? It's not like you're my Trainer or something."
	Crystal: 	"I could be, if you want to work with me. I'm a specialist in Contests, but I'm planning to take the League challenge too, since we'll be going all over the region." She keeps Miranda held in the hug, smiling softly. "Even if you don't join my team, though, why couldn't we be friends?"
* Miranda cringed for a moment as the hug wasn't released. Suddenly, she threw her hands up and gripped the back of Crystals shirt tightly.
	Miranda: 	"Don't do that! Don't SAY that! Don't tease me!! I'm not your toy Human!"
* Miranda stared at her into her eyes, looking up at Crystal from her shorter height and gritted her teeth, "...Why should I give you a chance, huh? First Trainer I though could work with me abandoned me a day later. How do I know that you won't?"
* Crystal tenses a bit as she's grabbed and yelled at, but when Miranda continues, she decides to keep holding her, patting her back. "I'm not trying to toy with you, Miranda. You decide if you want to give me a chance, but I don't have a reason to leave. My family's big enough that it can handle any emergency without me. Even if I did leave, though, I'd bring anyone who wants to come with me." She does her best to look Miranda in the eye again, smiling in as friendly a way as she can manage. "I wouldn't just leave you behind."
* Miranda grew quiet and listened surprised that Crystal hugged her so suddenly and continued to do so this whole time. She paused for a long hard moment before looking away at the monitor she was reading on before.
	Miranda: 	"I...guess I could." He sighed and finally relaxed in Crystal's arms, "I'd end up not doing what I wanted anyway. Just would stay here and read. Alright, I'm giving you a chance. Betray me and you'll be sorry, got it?"
	Crystal: 	"Understood!" She smiles, finally releasing Miranda from the hug to extend a hand to her. "Partners, then? I'll need your help, and I'll help you with your dreams too."
Avara: 	*smiles wider
	Miranda: 	She*
* Miranda glanced down at the hand for a moment before looking back up to Crystal, "Partners and a team aiding each others dreams!" With that she suddenly stood from the chair and hugged Crystal tightly.
	Miranda: 	"You can hug me outta the blue and then suddenly expect to shake your hand."
* Crystal giggles a bit, hugging Miranda tightly as well. "Deals are usually sealed with handshakes, but I think a hug works too. So... how does trainership work with Human-splices? I'm not going to keep you in a ball unless you ask for it, but do I need to do it once for it to be official?"
* Miranda hugs her tightly still for a moment before pulling away and producing a Greatball.
	Miranda: 	"This is the ball I was caught with. Since I was released, just scan it and I should be registered as yours."
	Crystal: 	"Alright." She pulls out her oak-model pokedex, flips it open... and pulls out a pokeball, setting it on it first to send it to her box. Then she takes and scans the Great Ball to register Miranda as hers. "Thank you for giving me a chance."
	Miranda: 	"Yeah, yeah. Just keep your promise, alright?" She said before placing her hands on her hips, "So...where to?"
	Crystal: 	"Well, I still need to face the gym here. On the way, could you tell me about your dream? I can't help if I don't know." She's still smiling, putting her 'dex away and placing Miranda's ball on her belt.
* Miranda began to follow Crystal closely and put her hands behind her head, leisurely walking.
	Miranda: 	"See the world. Get a fan-base. Conquer the League, Contests and stuff. Y'know, the things girls crush over."
	Crystal: 	"Well, we can take care of at least two of those right away! I've done a few contests already, so just travelling with me will get attention for your future fan club, and I'm pretty good at contests, or so I'd like to think. We actually won a contest earlier today."
	Miranda: 	"And I missed it?! Dammit!"
	Crystal: 	"We qualified for a Super Contest in pallet this weekend by winning, though. If I can get you ready for that in time, I'll take it on with you as my partner."
	Miranda: 	"Never did a contest so I hope you can get me ready! But, I am good at battles. No question there."
	Miranda: 	"So, want to head to G.Oak's Gym?"
	Crystal: 	"I'm sure I can get you ready. You're already a very unique and interesting person, so it won't take too much to draw that out." She pauses for a moment at Miranda's question. "The professor runs the gym?"
	Miranda: 	"Yeah, didn't he tell you?"
	Crystal: 	"He just said there was a gym to the northeast."
	Miranda: 	"Yeah, that's where it is."
	Crystal: 	"Well... I hope he had a reason for keeping that secret. Yeah, we should get going so we can win before it gets too late."
* Miranda nods and follows closely behind Crystal.
* Crystal leads Miranda and Eli to the gym, humming a little tune as she walks. "What kind of music do you like, Miranda?"
	Miranda: 	"Mostly instrumental. You?"
	Crystal: 	"When you live between towns for a while, you take what you can get, but I like rock and jazz music. I don't mind if it does or doesn't have lyrics."
	Miranda: 	"Makes sense. Though, you should probably listen to music on your Pokédex or something."
	Crystal: 	"I'll see if there's any music for sale before we leave. From the sound of things we'll have a lot of time, with the people we got set up with."
	Crystal: 	"You should help me pick stuff out!"
	Miranda: 	"Sure!"
	Crystal: 	"Golden pokemon and knowledge. I see..." She mumbles to herself, wondering what it'll be like. "Are you ready, Miranda? This might be a good way to work out your problems with Oak while we're at it."
	Miranda: 	"Sure!"
* Crystal pushes open the doors of the gym, walking in side-by-side with Miranda.
Kaorin Sakura: 	When you enter the Gym, you can see Professor Oak sitting on a throne far into the back of the Gym. There's an arrow pointing you to enter a silver corridor to the right.
	G.Oak: 	"Before you continue, Crystal please try and keep only one Pokémon out at a time. Lessens casualties."
	Crystal: 	"Alright." She pats Eli, "Sorry, but I'll need to put you in the ball for a bit." He... rolls side to side. She seems content with this, and Recalls him to his ball.
* Crystal looks at Miranda and smiles.. "Let's get going, then!" She follows the arrows.
Kaorin Sakura: 	The arrow takes you down a silver Corridor that leads you into a half-sphere shaped room. The doors behind you leading to the corridor you just exited closes behind you and the pressure seems to increase in the room.
	Miranda: 	"Hmmm...Air pressure sealed. Not even water can get out of here."
* G.Oak suddenly speaks into the room through loud speakers.
* Crystal raises her hands to her head as the pressure spikes, rubbing her temples while her body struggles to adapt to the rapid shift. "Ow..."
	G.Oak: 	"Crystal, the challenge of my Gym is to test your knowledge of Pokémon. Each room you enter will prompt you with a question. For each answer you get right on the first try, you walk safely to the next area. If you get it wrong, you become attacked by wild Pokémon. If you win, you get to continue or quit the challenge, if you lose well...you will be missed."
	Miranda: 	"Didn't think Gary would be so vicious."
	G.Oak: 	"First question:"
	G.Oak: 	"What Pokémon sleeps in the snow and gains energy from the morning sun?"
	G.Oak: 	"Hint: It's breath is more than fity degrees below zero."
	Crystal: 	"Sleeps in the snow, icy breath... must be an ice pokemon. If it gets energy from the sun, though..." she mumbles to herself, thinking.
* Crystal checks her pokedex, seeing if she can input the data for those hints.
Saia has connected.
* Crystal pulls up Froslass on the pokedex.
* Crystal then checks Vanillite. "Everything seems to match up. Vanillite."
	G.Oak: 	"That's correct!"
Kaorin Sakura: 	The doors leading forward open up and the pressure returns to normal.
* Miranda claps, "Impressive, Crystal!"
* Crystal lets out a sigh of relief as the air pressure relaxes, and smiles to Miranda. "I was just using the pokedex, but thanks. If you think you might know one of the answers, let me know." She starts walking again.
	Miranda: 	"Sure."
Kaorin Sakura: 	The corridor you follow is identical to the previous one and leads you into a room exactly like the previous one. The doors behind you close shut and the pressure in the room increases.
	G.Oak: 	"Second Question:"
	G.Oak: 	"What Pokémon polishes its face against tree trunks?"
	Crystal: 	"... There's a pokemon like that?"
	Miranda: 	"...Not that I can think of."
	Crystal: 	"If it's polish, it must be shiny... against a tree, it'd have to be able to keep from chipping off or scratching itself too."
* Crystal starts flipping through STEEL type.
	Crystal: 	"Shieldon?"
	G.Oak: 	"That's correct!"
Kaorin Sakura: 	The doors leading forward open up and the pressure returns to normal.
	Crystal: 	"The pressure changes are starting to make me feel ill..." she mumbles as she walks with Miranda to the next room.
* Miranda wraps her right arm around Crystal and holds her left hand with her own.
	Miranda: 	"Gonna be alright?"
Kaorin Sakura: 	The corridor you follow is identical to the previous one and leads you into a room exactly like the previous one. The doors behind you close shut and the pressure in the room increases.
	Crystal: 	"Ah--thanks. I should be okay, but I might need the support if this keeps up."
	G.Oak: 	"Third Question:"
	G.Oak: 	"What Pokémon constantly eats and sleeps to pack more pounds to store more energy for evolution?"
	Crystal: 	"Is it Munchlax?"
	G.Oak: 	"Incorrect."
	G.Oak: 	"The answer is Makuhita."
	Crystal: 	"Ohh... that makes sense. Miranda, are you ready for a fight?"
DNA is disconnected.
* Crystal immediately scans the new pokemon. Because it is new and scary and howdoibeatit.
* Crystal is just going to scan everything that appears, mmmmkaaay?
Kaorin Sakura: 	"Moltres, the Flame Pokémon. Fire and Flying type. One of the legendary bird Pokémon. It is said that its appearance indicates the coming of spring."
Kaorin Sakura: 	"Archeops, the First Bird Pokémon. Rock and Flying type. It runs better than it flies. It catches prey by running at speeds comparable to those of an automobile."
Kaorin Sakura: 	"Haxorus, the Axe Jaw Pokémon. Dragon type. Their sturdy tusks will stay sharp even if used to cut steel beams. These Pokémon are covered in hard armor."
Kaorin Sakura: 	Speeds.
Avara: 	miranda is 22 speed.
Crystal has received initiative.
	Crystal: 	"Miranda, do you think you can weaken the Moltres without killing it? I don't know if we'll be able to catch it, but I don't think we'll get another chance any time soon!"
	Miranda: 	"Not kill it? I can try!"
	Crystal: 	"Let's take care of the other two first, then! I can have Eli try paralyzing Moltres once the way's clear!"
	Crystal: 	"Let's see... Dragons are notoriously dangerous, so let's try taking that one down first, from a distance!"
	Crystal: 	"Use Psychic!"
* Miranda turns to Haxorus and clenches her fist, tossing the Dragon into the air and back!
Avara: 	(who should handle rolling for her attacks?)
	Miranda: 	You.

	Crystal: 	"Miranda, don't hold back! I believe in you!"

* Miranda giggles and pulls Crystal into her arms to steady her.

* Crystal giggles a little, leaning against Miranda and looking at her. "Thanks. I just need to pick up the first ball I threw, and we can continue."
* Crystal waits until she's done adjusting before going to get her great ball. "Two questions left. Are you ready?"

Kaorin Sakura: 	The corridor leads you into the final room, similar too all the others and the door closes as you enter, sealing and increasing the overall pressure!

	Crystal: 	"Not all trainers can earn the trust of their team, and we just met." She smiles, staying close to Miranda.

Kaorin Sakura: 	The doors open and leads you back into the Gym, where the air is cool, the pressure is normal and Gary sits atop a throne 15 meters from you.
* Crystal stays close to Miranda in case she needs support again, holding onto Miranda's arm just a bit as they walk into Oak's final room. "Those were some rare and powerful pokemon you threw at us."

* Crystal checks legendaries, since that sort of thing would be pretty well-known if that wasn't a legendary pokemon. "Is it... Ho-oh?"
	G.Oak: 	"Correct."
* G.Oak stands from his throne clapping as he descends down to you.
	G.Oak: 	"You have bested five challenges, put your faith in your team, faced a legendary and survived to meet me here. You have demostrated knowledge and the pursuit of happiness. With this, I am proud to present you with the Aureate Badge as a symbol of success against my Gym."
* G.Oak hands you a badge of a golden shield.

* Crystal takes the badge and hugs Miranda. "We did it!"
	G.Oak: 	"Since you're already part of Team Oak, the TM reward is already amongst you but I can give you something else."
* G.Oak hands Crystal a Metal Coat.
* Crystal takes the Metal Coat, looking it over. "Hm..."
* Miranda hugs Crystal rather affectionately and smiles, "Yeah! We did!"
* Crystal keeps one arm wrapped around Miranda while the other puts her loot away. "You were amazing, Miranda!"
* G.Oak chuckles at the happy display.
	G.Oak: 	"I'll be heading back to my lab now. Take care you two!"
	Crystal: 	"Hold on a moment."

	G.Oak: 	"Yeah?"
	Crystal: 	"Miranda, do you have anything you want to say to the professor?"

* Miranda turns to Crystal.
	Miranda: 	"You were worth the mood swings."
* Crystal smiles at this, blushing a little. "Thanks." She looks at Gary, "You upset her for a bit, so I wanted to make sure she had a chance to get her feelings out."
	G.Oak: 	"I seem to be doing that unintentionally lately."
	G.Oak: 	"Honestly, I apologize for doing whatever it was that upset you. I never mean to."
	G.Oak: 	"I'd apologize to Venec if he told me he was upset."
